Lock in check box doesn´t work for me because the another users should view the tabs and structures. They should view the documentation and transaction but they can´t change this data. Flagging checkbox, this structures desapear in SOLAR02.
About authorisation, will i have to assign this object autorization in every user of system? What is this object?

  • Lock Role for Changes till the transport is released

Issue : since roles are managed by multiple security administrators, changes are moving against the sequence.
We have multiple security administrators, is there a way to lock a role for changes until the task/ req is released.
    Example Scenario :
Security admin 1 : if there is a change request to add SU01 to the role: Z_TESTROLE, Security admin adds it and creates a Change request but does not release it.
Security Admin 2 : the security admin 2 will get a Change req for the same role Z_TESTROLE to add a tcode PFCG to it. Security admin 2 does his job and moves his transport now even though the first transport does not move the change made by the first security admin moves with the transport for the second admin.
We have multiple security administrators, is there a way to lock a role for changes until the task/ req is released.

    Hi all,
Thanks for your responses.we follow a change procedure but I guess its just needs to be refined. Everybody figured out that this is a coordination issue but I was asked to research on any technical ability to handle this.
Here is a brief overview of our process :
    1) BPO approves the change
    2) Role owner support manager approves the change
then the Change request comes to 3)Security Manager for her approval.
I feel from Sox prespective the 3rd approval in not manadatory.
I'm I correct ??? where can I find Sox guide for SAP ?
    Recap of the incident:
1)A change ticket is created for the t-code creation and a task is created for the role in which this report is to be added.
    State I role Z_TESTROLE  is with ZMMR0025
After adding the new report ZMMR0055 the old report ZMMR0025 is removed.
    State II
The role Z_TESTROLE has tcode ZMMR0055
now this is tested in development system by the requestor.
Before this goes into PRD via QA a newsflash is sent to all the endusers (so that they know which t-code to use)
Meanwhile if another security administrator works (suppose adds a new tcode or changes an authorization)  on this while the role is in state II changes made by Admin 1 are transported along with the second change.
State II + new changes = State III
When the role reaches PRD in state III result is the end user losses access to the required functionality ZMMR0025 before ZMMR0055 is made available.
I hope I’m clear , please let me know if I need to be more specific on any part.
    I appreciate your help.
    regards,
    Salman.

Hello, In Lion 10.7.x I cannot disable the Lock documents for 2 weeks in Time Machine! Thus it prevents to change anything else like the system preferences or other settings. All is locked. How I can disable it?

Do you mean the check box isn't enabled?
Or you remove the check but it doesn't "stick"?
Or you remove the box but documents are stil getting locked?
That setting doesn't apply to other things in System Preferences, just apps that support AutoSave and Versions.  If you're having a problem with System Prefs, please clarify exactly what.

  • Cubes locked in terminated change runs

    Hi guys,
Couple of cubes are locked in terminated change run......... how do i resolve this as there are no locks set form them in sm12 or db01
what is the way to go..........
    Thanks,
Your help will be rightly appreciated

Please try going to the monitor for Attribute change run from RSA1 >> tools >> apply change run or from Transaction RSATTR which will schedule/display attribute change run. Here you can have an option called change run monitor (Monitor icon). this wil show the status of change run including which all info objects are affected, and if its hitting the aggregates of any cubes.,etc.
Also you can try Tcode CHANGERUNMONI/program RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR to view this data.
The Problem is that there might be another change run triggered parallely to yours. In any SAP System only One attribute change run can run at one point of time. i. e If one attribute change run is running in system from any process chain or for any project and 2nd one fails, if start at same time due to locking problem. Due to this entire data load fails.
This blog will explain how to prevent this from happening.

  • Grant Update Rights to CRs for Change Initiator

Is there any way to grant update rights to CRs the submitter and assigned to user own to Change Initiator's in SCSM without adding them to the Change Managers Role?  Under the Change Initiator role they are unable to update any of
    the fields after submission.
We are satisfied from an auditing perspective that changes will not be improperly updated after approval because the history can be tracked but we do like the idea that people unrelated to the change will not have full change manager rights accross
    the board.
The roles Doc lists Star Rating as the Instance Type Scope for change initiator but I cannot find any reference to what Star Rating indicates.

    Hi Roman,
Firstly many thanks for the reply. This seems complicated which for other products like Remedy and ServiceNow can be done at the click of a button.
I have implemented the ITIL processes across my organisation and agree from a process perspective we do not want initiators to alter changes once they have been approved or submitted to be approved, and it is the review stage before this that I am finding
    this troublesome for.
To go through my process please see below:
Change Initiation - Change is created by technical or project teams who will also be the Change Owners, these changes can be complicated and all of the information that is required to submit might not be available, however there appears to be no way to save
a change in draft and return to it as once OK, or apply is hit the change goes into In Progress.
Change Review - This is a technical review I would prefer a technical team leader to carry out prior to submission to change management for their review and approval stages. At this stage the change in my opinion should still be editable by the initiator
so that they can make any additions as required and requested by the Technical Team Leader.
Change Review - This is review by Change Management on completeness of content etc and until the Change Manager moves the change to the approval stage should still be editable by the Initiator/Owner to update the change as required.
Change Approval - The change should be locked at this stage so no edits can be carried out the initiator/owner, however the change manager should be able to place the change back into the review stage should the change need altering any further based on
    feedback from the approving parties.
From this stage onwards I am happy with how everything happens, however it is this initial early stage that I am struggling with. Is there something simpler than having to create complicated run books to achieve this through the activities?

    Duncan

  • Locking bar for keyboard ribbon on ABook 1.33GHz logic board broken

HELP! I can't afford £400.00 for a new logic board...
Just changing the hard drive. Very careful, but locking bar for keyboard ribbon destroyed.
Anyone know what to use as a replacement/wedge - the keyboard ribbon is a "zero insertion force" item; Apple says "new logic board needed!"

if you have an ibook (I cannot tell for sure from your post), the ribbon cable can be wedged into its slot using a strip of material cut from a credit card type of plastic (here in the US we all get "fake" credit cards in the mail that I keep just for such projects - they also make good squeegees or soft scrapers).
I just cut with a good scissors, and usually try to shape it like a very wide, or fat "T" so that the bottom just fits into the cable slot, and the "T" crossbar protrudes a bit on either side outside of the top, for easy grasping, if you need to remove it. The fit of the plastic bit should be snug, but does not need to be too tight, as the ribbon is also held in place somewhat by the ram cover.
If you have a powerbook, that's another matter entirely. If the socket is broken from the logicboard, I have heard that the socket can be re-affixed to the logic board by a good electronics repair service. If the socket is broken from the cable, then a replacement keyboard would do the trick.
    good luck,
    Ray

  • Re: Transactions and Locking Rows for Update

    Dale,
Sounds like you either need an "optimistic locking" scheme, usually
implemented with timestamps at the database level, or a concurrency manager.
A concurrency manager registers objects that may be of interest to multiple
users in a central location. It takes care of notifying interested parties
(i.e., clients,) of changes made to those objects, using a "notifier" pattern.
The optimistic locking scheme is relatively easy to implement at the
database level, but introduces several problems. One problem is that the
first person to save their changes "wins" - every one else has to discard
their changes. Also, you now have business policy effectively embedded in
    the database.
The concurrency manager is much more flexible, and keeps the policy where
it probably belongs. However, it is more complex, and there are some
implications to performance when you get to the multiple-thousand-user
range because of its event-based nature.
Another pattern of lock management that has been implemented is a
"key-based" lock manager that does not use events, and may be more
effective at managing this type of concurrency for large numbers of users.
There are too many details to go into here, but I may be able to give you
more ideas in a separate note, if you want.

The scenario is as follows: We have a window where the user picks an
object from a dropdown list. Some of the object's attributes are then
displayed in that window, and the user then has the option of editing
those attributes, and at some point hitting the equivalent of a 'save'button
to write the changes back to the database. So far, so good. Now
introduce a second user. If user #1 and user #2 both happen to pull up
the same object and start making changes to it, user #1 could write back
to the database and then 15 seconds later user #2 could write back to the
database, completely overlaying user #1's changes without ever knowing
they had happened. This is not good, particularly for our application
where editing the object causes it to progress from one state to the next,
and multiple users trying to edit it at the same time spells disaster.
The first thing that came to mind was to do a select with intent to update,
i.e. 'select * from table where key = 'somevalue' with update'. This way
the next user to try to select from the table using the same key would not
be able to get it. This would prevent multiple users from being able to
pull the same object up on their screens at the same time. Unfortunately,
I can think of a number of problems with this approach.
For one thing, the lock is only held for the duration of the transaction, so
I would have to open a Forte transaction, do the select with intent to
update, let the user modify the object, then when they saved it back again
end the transaction. Since a window is driven by the event loop I can't
think of any way to start a transaction, let the user interact with the
window, then end the transaction, short of closing and re-opening the
window. This would imply having a separate window specifically for
updating the object, and then wrapping the whole of that window's event
loop in a transaction. This would be a different interface than we wanted
to present to the users, but it might still work if not for the next issue.
The second problem is that we are using a pooled DBSession approach
to connecting to the database. There is a single Oracle login account
which none of the users know the password to, and thus the users
simply share DBSession resources. If one user starts a transaction
and does a select with intent to update on one DBSession, then another
user starts a transaction and tries to do the same thing on the same
DBSession, then the second user will get an error out of Oracle because
there's already an open transaction on that DBSession.
At this point, I am still tossing ideas around in my head, but after
speaking with our Oracle/Forte admin here, we came to the conclusion
that somebody must have had to address these issues before, so I
thought I'd toss it out and see what came back.

We have taken an optimistic data locking approach. Retrieved values are
stored as initial values; changes are stored seperately. During update, key
value(s) or the entire retieved set is used in a where criteria to validate
that the data set is still in the initial state. This allows good decoupling
of the data access layer. However, optimistic locking allows multiple users
to access the same data set at the same time, but then only one can save
changes, the rest would get an error message that the data had changed. We
haven't had any need to use a pessimistic lock.
Pessimistic locking usually involves some form of open session or DBMS level
lock, which we haven't implemented for performance reasons. If we do find the
need for a pessimistic lock, we will probably use cached data sets that are
checked first, and returned as read-only if already in the cache.

  • Error -34 and error -50 message while preparing a project for iDVD

I keep getting an error -34 and and error -50 message when I try to prepare a project for sharing in iMovie. Does anyone know why this might be please?
I managed to create a DVD before with this project but then went back in and changed some of the text clips to centred as they were not showing up when I played it on my TV (they were partially hidden - but that's another question!)
I also got a message that there was not enough space on the disc although it was only 1 hr 13 mins and the DVD-R disc is 120 mins.
    thanks

Memory is RAM and should not be confused with hard drive space.
Open any Finder window and you will at the bottom of the window hor much free space you have. Less that about 20GB and you may have troubles.
As you have an external hard drive (and assuming that this is not also full!) move files and documents etc to that, but keep your application on the internal startup drive.
I have about 4 hours of video that I want to download onto a DVD
You can't get 4 hours of video on one DVD. Even on a dual-layer DVD that will be difficult.

  • Unable to prepare project for publishing. Error in user parameter list

After editing the project in iMovie '09 I am getting strange problems.
    1) If I try to share the project to iDVD I get the Error Message: "Unable to prepare project for publishing. The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (Error in user parameter list)". The same error message I get when trying to "Export Movie".
    2) If I play the movie (either in the preview window or in full screen), I hear the audio, but the video remains on the picture, I was, when I start playing. This wasn't the case until yesterday. I don't know, what has changed this.
I am not sure, if both problems are connected.
If I try to play a clip, everything still works well, means audio and video are playing as expected.
Any ideas, what I could try to solve this (I already tried to restart iMovie, checked that I have the newest version 8.0.1 (740) and tried to restart my iMac?
    Leela

I'm having the same problem, though it wasn't triggered by me importing anything. I had an almost complete project that I was just editing down and tightening up. I was making some deletions and moving some clips around when the project just went all wonky. If I hit the space bar the video will play. Audio, video and titles are all as they should be. But the editing window is frozen. The raw clips have disappeared from the upper left. When I restart the app the editing window is sometimes blank. But if I drag another application across the screen (like Mail or iTunes) the clips regenerate in the viewer window. This is a HUGE disappointment for me. After wasting an hour trying to solve this I now have to start completely from scratch with this project.
