Lock screen camera "bug" ?

I don't think the lock screen camera feature is working quite right.  If you have your phone set to require a passcode on screen lock set to "Immediate" this doesn't appear to be a problem, and the screen lock works properly, but I use a 1 hour timeout for a lockscreen passcode. If I lock the screen, and take a picture using the lockscreen shortcut, I can get past the lockscreen and direct to the springpad.
I *believe* that after taking a picture from the lock screen shortcut, one should be returned to the lock screen instead of springpad.
Just my .02.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. Please try this. Lock Ur phone. Double tap the home button until the camera button shown up. Then take a photo, later click the photo just took. Then press home button. Back to home screen? This even can passthru the pass code being set.

  • Lock Screen Camera?

I currently have an iPhone 3GS, I updated to iOS 5 and nothing went wrong, but the main feature I wanted from it was the lock screen camera. (Instead of unlocking and going to the camera app.) Every time I lock my phone and then later un-lock it, that feature is non-existent. Can anybody help me trouble-shoot?
    Thanks much.

WOW that was not intuitive...and not well explained on the website..! It shows as automatic.
I wish they provided the same feature for the phone, I hate having to enter a PW just to make a call (While Driving) LOL
    Thanks for the help

  • I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I know I shall regret asking, but why does keeping the iPhone out of reach of your toddler imply it must also be out of reach of yourself?
I suppose not comepletely out of reach for me, but not out in the open. I would have to put my phone either on top of a high shelf, which I would need to get on a stoll myself to get to, or in a closet or inside a cabinet. The truth is that I spend most of my time at home in the same room as my daughter, which is the layroom, and there aren't really any places there to put my phone out of reach. Putting it our of reach for her would mean missing phonecalls myself.
This is beyond this topic of discussion, really and I'm sorry. My daughter had gotten used to the fact that if she did get a hold of my phone she couldn't do anythig with it. Now she's learned that she can take pictures if she gets a hold of the phone and it's a fight every time she "finds" my phone, because now she wants to be able to take pictures and it's tiring having to take it away from her, deal with the crying and screaming and also have to punish her for the offense. Again, this is getting way off topic.
My opinion on the actual topic of this discussion is that this "feature" shouldn't have been imposed on me, I should've been given a way to disable this feature. It was, in my opinion, not well thought out by apple and I really think we should get a new update that allows us to disable it. (already told apple what I thought, thank you).

  • My iphone 4s will not stop autofocusing on the lock screen camera?

My new iphone 4s will not stop autofocusing on the lock screen camera, (the regular camera is fine.) It seems to focus on my face and then the green box surrounding my face doesn't go away, and I cannot click anything or exit until my screen locks after 15 seconds. What is wrong?

how did you turn it on?
I ask because I may not own a iphone4s but only a iphone4 and it don't have a LED on the front only on the back

  • Lock screen camera icon

    Phone updated to:
    Android 4.4.2
    Build: 14.3.A.0.681
After the update I have a camera shortcut icon on the lock-screen - great! ....or not!
When pushing this icon, or activating the camera via the camera button (still locked), the camera is activated.
When clicking the "settings menu" (three dots in the upper left corner), the camera app is quitted, and I am taken back to the lockscreen.
This bug is quite obvious, don't you test your builds prior to releasing them to the public?!

  • Can one remove the lock screen camera icon and function in iOS 5.1.1

I recently updated my iPod touch to 5.1.1 to see what the later iOS was like, and I really dislike the camera icon on the lock screen. I can't seem to find a way of removing it, and using restrictions as was suggested elsewhere disables the camera all-together. I'm not liking the 5.1.1 experience and am considering going back to 4.1.2.

It cannot be removed as you have discovered. Sorry.

  • My lock screen camera shortcut stopped working

Hi i noticed recently that my camera shortcut from the lock screen no longer works :-(. When i start dragging the screen upwards to reveal the camera i can see the camera up underneath but the moment i finish the camera vanishes and i get a blank screen. Any ideas?
I am using an iPhone 4S and ios8

Have you tried to reset the phone?
Hold down the home and sleep / eake buttons for about 30 seconds or until you see the Apple logo and then release and allow the phone to boot up and see if this recurs

  • Ios5 update lock screen/camera

I did the ios5 software update and I have the camera icon in the home screen lock mode, but if you go into the camera from your lock screen and then press the home button, it takes you to your unlocked home screen without asking for the password. How do I change it so that it is always password protected?

it takes you to your unlocked home screen without asking for the password.
Only if your phone is unlocked at the time. If your phone is protected with a passcode when you enter the camera, you will need to enter the passcode when pressing the Home button.
You can changed the time period before the passcode lock becomes active in the Settings.

  • Lock Screen Camera Not Working - help needed

    Button just shakes...but doesn't activate camera...any tips??

No worries.  I did the same thing when the update that changed this action came out.

  • Why cant i (still) immediately share a picture after taking one from the lock screen camera?

i put the question here because the ios section is only for specific apps... sorry.
seems a bit maddening that we are given such quick access to take a picture, but then have to open up either the photo app or whatever app we want to share the photo/video with.  makes taking a pic .3 seconds quicker kinda frivilous.

That is a new one. I haven't seen that before. You might have a hardware problem. Also may want to try to restore the phone and see if that fixes the problem. Also have you restarted the phone by holding the home button and the sleep/wake switch ignoring the swipe to power off message and then powering up the phone again?

  • How do you remove camera icon on lock screen on iPhone 5 running iOS 7

How do you remove camera icon on iPhone 5 running iOS 7

I was on a long call. I locked the phone and slipped it in my pocket. Apparently the lock screen camera had activated though it had not taken any shots . The result was post my 40 odd minute call when I pulled the phone out to disconnect I discovered the camera was active and phone was hot and battery had reduced for 92% to around 50%. This seems a serious flaw in design...

  • My 4th gen. iPod Touch is zoomed really zoomed in at the lock screen and will NOT zoom out. What the **** is wrong???, My 4th gen. iPod Touch is zoomed really zoomed in at the lock screen and will NOT zoom out. What the **** is wrong???

Just what it says. I was using my iPod, everything was fine, I locked it, put it down on the table for a few minutes, picked it back up, and when I clicked the lock button the lock screen came up totally zoomed in. ***. I discovered I could move around the screen by touching a direction and it was dragged across. I got to the unlock slider and the little button that you slide across took up the entire width of the screen. Once again, ***. It let me drag it across, but it's impossible to type in my unlock combination as it requires me to click on wrong numbers in order to drag it to the ones I need. I also shut it down completely 3 times. It starts up normal, but the lock screen is frozen for a few seconds, then zooms in way far. ***????? Please someone help me out here, I've never seen any iPod do this...

  • HT5192 has anyone else foud the security bug of the camera in the lock screen after the update to 5.1

    Hi
has anyone found that you can get into an iPhone from the lock screen with the camera option. I have just upgraded and now have the camera option on the lock screen. you can go into the camera without the need of the pass code and then when in it press the home button to get into the phone. this is a big security problem, or am I alone of thinking this.
    thanks
    ally

I have tried that a few times.  Also I can only get the phone to lock out someone after using the camera shortcut on the lock screen if the passcode is required immediately. If it is set to 1 minute you can still get into the phone and use it without the passcode.
