Lock the Welcome & FAQ's Forum

From what I can see there, virtually every post gets moved to another forum.
Just close/lock it and only let Mods and Admins post in there, we really don't want to say 'hello' to every Tom, **bleep** and Harry who happen to post there.

hows about moving this thread in there and leaving it as the only contributable thread? (not my idea, I believe someone did mention this before the opening of the forum, but couldn't find the post).

Remove all the "Moved" posts from the Welcome & FAQ forum

Could someone please clean up those unsightly "Moved" posts from the Welcome & FAQ forum?

I deleted them all since the most recent was several weeks old. That doesn't, however, mean that more won't be added as questions are mistakely placed there and then moved to the proper board. Perhaps your earlier suggestion of locking it as an announcement-only board is one that we should consider.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE
1. CTRL E has never worked and I have always edited my site via a link that my web designer has given me ,I don't get an error message just nothing happens, any ideas?
2. When I go through the link given to me by my web designer to edit the site the site appears but everything is smaller, font boxes etc, and not the correct size, I can edit ,however when I then exit editing and check to see if my site has changed nothing has .
Viewing the site outside of incontext editing all is normal, correct size etc , it is only when I'm in editing that the site appears different and not right.This is a recent problem and all ( apart from CTRL E ) has been fine.
Its almost like I have 2 websites one out here and one in incontext editing , any suggestions

I'm not sure that it is actually possible to parameterize the DYNR. Anyway, it would still leave you the problem that the field descriptors in the command interface would all be wrong.
My suggestion for getting around this is to make several recordings using the SAPGUI command, creating a new command for each screen change. You can then edit the script so that the different cases between which you want to differentiate are separated by IF...ELSEIF...ENDIF commands.
You might then have something that looks like this (pseudocode):
* SAPGUI command for common "opening part" of transaction
IF (subtype = 'LA').
*SAPGUI covering screen 2001
ELSEIF (subtype = 'LW').
* SAGPGUI covering screen 2000
ENDIF.
* SAPGUI for common "closing part" of transaction - if relevant.

Over the last few years, we at SJC have worked with our customers in architecting, designing, and implementing solutions on the J2EE platform. There are numerous ways to implement a templating mechanism in support of the composite view pattern, included in the catalog as a presentation-tier pattern.
The goal is to avoid simply having monolithic views with all the formatting code embedded directly withing the view. If we have common subviews that are shared across several or more views then we end up with a copy-and-paste type of reuse...undesirable. So, modularity is one issue. Another major force when considering the Composite View pattern is that we may want to manage the layout of our pages and the content of our pages separately. We may have some logical regions defined, such as a search panel and main body, and a subview that plugs into those logical regions that map to a physical page (ie: x.jsp and y.jsp). We may then want to vary one independent of the other...ie: we may want to modify the layout of the page w/o changing the content and we may want to vary the content w/o touching the layout.
There are a number of implementation strategies that can be used to implement the Composite View pattern, ranging from relatively simple to much more sophisticated. We describe each in our book and include source code examples.
The example in the book that allows for supporting all the issues described above is implemented using the "Custom Tag View Management Strategy" and uses a tag library written by David Geary, that supports the Composite View pattern. The library is also included in David's new book, Adv. JavaServer Pages, Prentice Hall, 2001.
Again, it's simply one implementation and, as you mention, there are many different ways to implement this strategy.

Introduction Welcome & FAQs Board is blocked?

Hi Mark and All Moderators:
I shall ask this because I couln't reply to Marck's latest Topic (Updated Community - New look, new features) posted there.
I could only do it through "Special Interest Discussions>Forum Housekeeping". In fact, you can see some users (only privileged ones? i.e. Moderators, etc?) replies to that Topic/Post on the first board, and some other users replies to "same" Topic/Post on the other board...
So, I wonder what is wrong on this board? I can´t even post a new message....

Your observation is correct; the welcome and FAQs board is locked. The decision was taken quite early on after the forum opened as new members were posting about all and sundry in it and three from four posts were having to be moved.
The post you refer to was duplicated here in Forum Houskeeping; which is open to all.
