"lock to app" and reboots

Looking to deploy iPad Airs and a few iPad minis as conference room wizards. We are testing the Apple Configurator and locking the device to single app via the "Lock to App" option in supervised mode.
We have them on constant power and the app auto-dims display afterhours on a schedule, so ongoing power is generally not going to be an issue.
My concern / problem is the behavior of the device if it is rebooted. I allowed the device to run out of power while in lock to app mode, and then powered it back on. When this happened, it did not return to the "lock to app" mode. What happens if the device is set to autoupdate IOS, and the IOS update requires a reboot? What happens if we loose power in our buidling for some time. It appears we will to have to bring each device back tethered to re-enter his mode.
We have 40 of these to setup, so it isnt a trivial question.

The identifier should be the same, it just doesn't show on the list. Configurator should probably be updated to recognize it as a stock app, but oh well. This will work: Choose "Other..." and then type in "com.apple.iBooks"

IPad slow despite closing all Apps and rebooting.

Original iPad 64GB 3G running iOS 5.0.1 is noticeably slow. Even after closing all Apps and rebooting, my machine runs slow. I tried draining the battery and still no improvement. Am I to conclude that iOS 5 combined with regularly updating my Apps rendered the processor obsolete?

As the result of months of web surfing and testing, I could narrow down the issue at is causing performance on all our original iPads! One would say to turn all the iCloud features off, but I have found that there are major performance bugs in contacts and calendars! Turn them off in the iCloud part if the settings. This, alone with disabling spotlight search results in no keyboard lag and no "checkerboard effect" in safari whe pages won't load fast enough! I hope this helps everyone as it did to me!

TS3274 My ipad has been lagging, it will exit out of apps and on safari will bring up pages that I searched awhile ago before bring up the current page. what could be the problem?

My ipad mini has recently been exiting out of apps on its own. It has also been bring up old searches when I log into safari things I've searched months ago. I have the latest update. I can't figure out why it's been doing this.

Clear Safari, close all apps, and reboot your iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
In order to close all of your apps, double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. Close all apps this way.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Not sure if you mean the app settings within the app, or the actual settings app. It doesn't really matter anyway .... Close the app or apps and reboot your iPad.

Starbucks app and GPS usage

I recently noticed that my GPS symbol never went away on my iPhone. After looking at the location services data I learned that the Starbucks app was keeping the GPS symbol on constantly. The moment I turned off location services for that app the symbol went away.
Is anyone else having this behavior on the Starbucks app? If I let it use location services, is it draining more battery? I hate having the symbol on all the time, if it's on all the time, then it has not meaning.
Any insight is appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue, noticed after my battery charge was disappearing rather quickly!
I killed all apps and rebooted the phone but it just stayed stuck on even though not running.
I've switched off location services for the Starbucks app (under Settings > Privacy > Location Services) and it goes away.
Phone is an iPhone 5 on iOS 8.1.2. Starbucks app is 3.2.2 and was updated nearly 3 weeks ago but last used about 3 days ago and I only noticed battery drain issue today.

Lock screen app

my iphone power button dosent work, i dont want to use accesive touch because i dont like it, i want to know if theres an app that i can use to lock the screen?
i dont have warrinty or money to pay for repair, i just need a lock screen app and no jailbreak

This is a known issue some are seeing after un-installing the beta for the new Live Lockscreen app.
A solution for this is to simply enable Kid's Corner, use it, and then disable it again..

I want to create a store app always kept on top, forbids users to close it or switch tasks until enter correct passcode. Is it possible
to achieve this? f.e. use SetWindowsHookEx like functions to set global keyboard hook to suppress task switch keys, any ideas?

Phone locked after downloading theme and rebooting???

i have downloaded a theme from blackberry app onto my curve 8520, done everything it has told me to and rebooted when requested... but now my phone is locked and can not get into it... have taken to battery out to see if there is any change but there isn't and now i don't know what to do please advise????

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

We aren't Apple, just users like you. Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

In more specific terms. The apps that came on the iPod like the weather and maps and whatnot have been working flawlessly. It's just when I download an app and then disconnect from wifi it's almost like I'm on a timer until the app stops working. It acts like it wants to open, the screen flashes black then resets to the home pages. I've tried all of the basic fixes, rebooting, reseting, uninstalling then reinstalling. But like in my...long...question, the reinstalling option only seems to be a temporary fix. I just recently downloaded the 5.1.1 udate (I think that's what it was) does that have anything to do with it, or am I just derpy when it comes to iPods?

We certainly want to make sure you get the most out of the GPS, wplaxico! Was this tested primarily outdoors? When did this begin? Any other recent apps of updates installed when this started?
