Locked in Emergency Mode after Upgrading to 3.0

I had a pass-code set on my phone before upgrading to 3.0. Now it wants me to connect to itunes. I connect to itunes but it wont sync because I haven't entered the password. My problem is that it does not give me an opportunity to enter the pass-code. I set the password when I was using the old software and obviously know it, but it is not giving me the opportunity to enter it.
I am essentially bricked. I never unlocked or jailbroke my phone and have done everything by the book. It appears that Apple's official software update is the source of my problems.
Any help?>

Hi,
since my last system upgrade the system always ends up in emergency mode. While booting it says it fails to mount /proc/bus/usb. Any ideas to get KDE running again?

Uh, a few... I don't know exactly. systemd was one of them, and numerous KDE packages. I already tried downgrading systemd, but it won't let me....

Upgraded to 4.0.2 last night. Immediately, itunes would no longer detect my iphone. Decided I had to downgrade back to 4.0 again. Learned I cannot do that easily, so i found a .ipsw file of firmware 4.0 online, and downloaded it. Started up my iphone attached to itunes in restore mode, held down shift, and clicked restore button. Successfully restored the 4.0 file I had downloaded.
At the first boot, it was stuck in emergency mode. I even tried to restore the default itunes backup after that, it was still stuck in emergency mode.
Anyone know how i fix this iphone? I have no interest in jailbreaks, i am in a 2 year contract with AT&T.

omg, it just fixed itself! i installed a brand new itunes on my laptop (which has never had itunes app before)
plugged in my iphone, it detected it right away and said "activated"! my phone is working again and has its phone number back.
now i did notice that the 4.0 is indeed slow, so i do want to try going back to 3.1.3 also.

Phone was fine before the upgrade, iOS 8.1 did not fix the issue.
Have done a factory reset at Genius bar and they say it's a hardware issue and have gotten this response below:

When these checks are run sometimes issues are detected, even if all seemed to be running well previously. When this happens one of two things can occur. Either the hardware will be deactivated completely, or it will be locked in a state of use so that the device can still be used. In the case of the gyroscope for screen rotation, the firmware locks in place so that while not perfect, the device can still remain on some functioning level. This is what appears to have happened when you updated. The software itself did not cause any failure, but it detected a currently upcoming issue and prevented it from becoming worse."
All I want is a replacement but they want me to pay £199 since it's out of warranty.
Anyone have the same issue?

If the device is out of warranty you must pay the out of warranty replacement fee to have your iPhone replaced. If the phone was still under warranty the phone would have been replaced at no charge.

Is it a bug in the upgraded software or do i need to do any changes in the settings.

After the upgrade, it only showed the previous 12 months (as I recall). All past entries are still present, you just have to exit list mode to see them. I have the same problem. I have a 3G Iphone 3.0, I wanted to update to the 3.1 new version. I had problems with some apps. that's why i've decided to restore to the original factory version. the restore process failed and my Iphone is stuck on emergency mode. I don't know why. I had the 8.2 Itunes, i couldn't upgrade to the 9 new version therefore i had to eliminate completely the Itune and install it again. BIG Mistake. I have lost all information of my iphone there as well. Now i have lost everything and my Iphone still doesn't work. I have tried everything that I have found on forums. I won't risk eighter with jailthing. The same message appear on ITunes over and over again: "ITunes could not connect the Iphone because of unknown error." I am Tired after 6 hours. I give up. I think i'll go to the apple store and see if they give me a new phone.
This is the second time. The first time It was a miracle. It fixed itself. Today I haven't been so lucky. But I've learned that apple has a huge weakness with Iphones and Itunes, lock and unlock war.

I went to the apple store, they fixed in 3 minutes. My iphone is now activated. They said that probably is the low connectivity on the internet that could lock the iphone as the software couldn't download properly.
Unfortunately all my data is now lost. However I have downloaded the Stellar pheonix recovery data tool to get all the information tat I have deleted from the Itunes. for thois I will need an external disk drive to save all the recovered information. It cost me US$99.00. Lets hope i can get all my data back, contact, photos, music, etc...

IPhone Stuck on Emergency Mode after Update

Need help on how to get my orginal iPhone 2G out of Emergency Mode only. Here's my issue and the solutions I've tried but so far none of it fixed my iPhone.
Problem:
I have an original iPhone (which I kept from 2007) and it has been working just fine as an iPod (no cell service anymore) since 2008 until I updated the firmware to 3.1.3 two days ago when I synced it with iTunes. After the firmware update, it remained stuck on Emergecy Call mode ony. I know that the orginal iPhone can only be activated with iTunes, but iTunes doesnt seem to recognize it - not even an info about the device can be seen. So, I tried to restore it through DFU mode, but even after re-installing the firmware, it remained stuck. I tried it both on my Sony VAIO with Win7 computer and iMac with Lion.
Solutions I tried:
1. Took my iPhone to Apple store - and they can't unlock it, they said their iTunes version doesn't support the device anymore.
2. Took it to AT&T - they can't unlock it either even after putting in a SIM card that's active from one of their phones.
I'm at a dead end on this somehow. Anyone who can give me a solution to this, I'd appreciate it a lot.
Just FYI, I'm using iTunes beta (10.5.1.25) on Win 7 and iMac Lion and non beta iTunes on my Mac Air with the same result.
Will activating the iPhone back with service through AT&T solve this? This seems like it's the only way out? If I have to resort to that, I'll just have to cancel my service pretty much on the same day after activating it as soon as my phone unlocks. Somehow, I found it odd that Apple couldn't even unlock it. I don't remember reading anywhere that they will stop any kind of hardware support to their products.

Rotation lock is not working after upgrade

It looks the rotation lock became sound on/off after upgrade to 4.2 or is there any other setting?

At the risk of sounding rather snotty. Please read the release notes for iOS 4.2.1 on the iPad or do a search on these forums. This has been discussed not only here but on the internet as a whole to death.
TL:DR Apple changed it in iOS 4 to match the function on other iOS devices. This is NOT a bug. Please read the release notes for iOS 4.2.1

Does your Wifi drop when your iPad mini went into sleep mode after upgrading to iOS 7?

Dear iPad mini users, to those who have upgraded to iOS 7 like I did, do you experienced WiFi drop when your iPad is in sleeping mode? I noticed this problem only few days after upgrading my iOS. Initially I don't think there is such issue. After your iPad mini recover fom sleep mode, then it will automatically connect to WiFi again. My point is it no longer connected to WiFi in sleeping mode and so could not keep me up-to-date with my mail if I am on WiFi.
Do share your view and if there is a solution, do share with me please. I have tried almost all solutions available online but no no avail. At the moment, I am activating my 3G network so that when mail came in, my iPad will notify me even during its sleeping mode but this is getting expensive considering I am using the 3G 24 hours every day now.

I found an solution. Go to Settings/Mail, Contact, Calendar/Fetch new data and than enable Push and choose to fetch hourly or every 30 minutes. In this case your iPad will stay connected to wifi even when smart cover is closed. If you select Manualy than wifi connection will be terminated when in sleep mode.

WSM Managed server starts in ADMIN Mode after upgrade to 11.1.1.7

We have just upgraded our 11g SOA Cluster environment from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.7. The issue is after the upgrade, our WSM servers are starting to ADMIN state with following error.

Same issue here :-)), Just playing around with policies configuration, the server was running just fine, I wanted to check if the policies are applicable during runtime even the WSM managed server is down. After restart, it started in ADMIN mode, well the solution is straight. It is exactly telling that the dms application is missing the jstl library reference

So search for "jstl" within the weblogic console in search bar, it is type of library, click on it and target it to the managed server where OWSM is running as weel. It was root cause in my case, somehow the library was not targeted to our WLS_WMS1 managed server. Now the server is back in RUNNING mode. Of course apply this in case of problem with SOA servers, target it to the cluster or exact nodes and it should work.
Still I don't know how the issue has been crated, I don't think that somebody removed it from deployment. Rather I think that somebody was applying patch or some artifacts to OSB or SOA managed server and this library was required as well, but as soon as we have separated WSM cluster, it was maybe assuming that it is running within OSB or SOA clusters and therefore didn't target the WSM cluster automatically. But this is just the idea :-))
