Locked out of Dreamweaver bc of dialog box
I am trying to open Dreamweaver CC for the first time on my Mac. After the Welcome Screen window appears, I get the dialog box informing me about the sync settings with 3 buttons (Advanced, Disable, and Sync I think). But before I have time to hit any of those buttons, another dialog box opens on top asking me to log into the site. I keep entering my AdobeID login info but the dialog box just flashes and gives no error at all. Hitting Cancel does the same. So I cannot get past this dialog box to be able to use Dreamweaver. Once I was fast enough to hit "HTML" under "Create New" on the Welcome Screen. A new file opened but then the same dialog box appeared that I could not get past.
I assume the box is actually asking for login info for a site set up in Dreamweaver but since I have never opened this copy of Dreamweaver I don't have any sites saved. I am able to use Dreamweaver CC on my PC with no problems. I did not set up or manage sites on the PC version so even if the Mac is checking there it wouldn't find any sites saved.
I have tried quitting Dreamweaver, restarting the computer, uninstalling Dreamweaver, deleting the opm.db file, reinstalling Dreamweaver. The only change is that now I do not get the dialog about Sync settings. It just goes straight to this site login dialog. I'm running OS 10.8.5 and all my CC apps are up to date.

I haven't used IIS for a long time, so I can't give you a definitive answer about virtual directories. I use Apache virtual hosts, and they work without problem in Dreamweaver, but that's been true for as long as I can remember. There was definitely nothing new added to Dreamweaver CS6 with regard to server-side integration.
As for default documents, I've just checked Dreamweaver's Check Links Sitewide command. It doesn't support that type of link. However, it's an excellent suggestion for a future improvement. Why not file a feature request through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform ? -
The print window settings dialog box will not come up
When attempting to print a website, I need to select the option to print as laid out on the screen as described in this how-to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-print-websites#w_print-window-settings.
However, I have attempted to get this dialog box to come up on 4 different machines that all have Firefox 32 installed and updated. The operating systems of the 4 machines were 2 Windows 7 64bit, 1 Fedora 20 64bit, and Windows 8.1 64bit.
It appears that using the print button launches the print preview screen. Pressing CTRL+P does not open this page either. Is this something I need to change in about:config? I already reset all the printing settings and reset firefox on these machine to see if that was the issue.
Please let me know how to correct this behavior.On Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 systems, it does not come up. I did try disabling the pop-up blocker, but it just won't load the dialog box. It is driving me a bit crazy.
And Office 365 does put the email out to a new window, but it still has frames :(. Microsoft's support forum advised setting IE and other browsers to print as displayed. The issue is I can't seem to figure out how to get that dialog box to come up. I have tried disabling the native dialog box in about:config, but didn't have any success with that either -
Dialog Boxes pop up behind other windows :(
Once in a while an application wants my attention. It would then throw up a dialog box and start bouncing in the Dock. So far so good.
Unfortunately, if the application's window is positioned behind something else, the dialog box pops up in front of its parent window, but BEHIND whatever is in front of it!
Now I know that the app needs my attention but I have to find it and then find its dialog box (the app itself is unresponsive till I deal with the dialog).
This behavior happens in many different apps (Toast and ControllerMate are good examples) and is a real pain. Is there a setting somewhere that I missed or mis-interpreted?

Followup: is there an app out there that would bring dialog boxes upfront, so that I do not have to hunt them down?

Not finding the dialog box to switch from tryout version to licensed version
I can't seem to figure this out:
Please look at the dialog box that you are facing - the one that looks like you are dealing with a tryout version. To the left of the tab that says Continue Trial, do you see a tab for License This Product or some similar wording? If so, click on License This Product and insert your purchased serial number when it is asks for it along with other requested information.green1964
When you open the Premiere Elements 12 tryout, are you greeted by a dialog that asks you if you want to Continue with the tryout or Buy?
If you have the tryout and it has not expired, you should be getting that box.
By the time that you enter the Premiere Elements tryout workspace, that dialog should pop up wanting for your response.
Please try again or explain what is happening when you open the tryout before the expiration date and before you have purchased a serial number and applied it to the tryout.

Secure printing problems with the dialog box

Some one which has problem with the scure dialog box then using secure printing?
then we print in Adobe acrobat reader X 10.0.1 the dialog box for entring your pin nummer appearing under acrobat, causeing the program to locking until you go to the dialog box and clicking on it and enter the pin. The problem is that adobe not showing the dialog box in front of the printing overall dialog.
had nog problem with the old 9, it started then we uppgraded. Haw tride a nother driver but haw same issue. And all other programs works greate, word, notepat etc so it is just Adobe that has the problem.. ?

Its´s XP sp3 and the printer is a network printer(Toshiba e-studio 4520c) running a PCL6 driver.
Screen capture is not so much to see i think, running Swedish interface to. The ordinary dialogbox för printing is the first thing thats pops up, and then adobe reader frezes because the secund box pops up under adobe, you can click on it in the "toolbar" to continue. One thing that is diffrent when you print in adobe is that you can se on the "toolbar" for the popup box for the pin/password box is a Adobe icon on it. It is not so in example when printing in word, ie8 etc.
The problem is that many users dont see it and thinks the program has stopt working.
Im now going to try the PS driver from toshibas homepage..

How to create conditional dialog box
Hi Everyone
I am creating a database application in APEX 4.0. In that application a page requires a dialog box, which has to appear when a user clicks on Submit button.
It has to consider validations and appear after validations and submit button is clicked. Here the Submit button submits the entire page after validations by updating the database table.
Please help me out how to create a dialog box which has to appear by the click of Submit button.

Saying 'Thank you for answering' if he is done with all questions or if he has more questions to answer pop up with different message 'You have more questions to answer'.
In both the cases page as to get submitted when clicked on Submit button.

How to create non-modal dialog box?
I'm trying to create a non-modal dialog box. The purpose is to show an alarm for the user but should leave the calling VI continuing to run. I have created such a thing -- the problem is that I can't figure out how to get the dialog box to go away! It stops running but the window just hangs around. See the attached VIs and image.

FF 7.0.1 on MacOSX 10.6.8 (not this machine!)
While doing a "Save As", and while the "Save As" dialog box is showing, a second dialog box "unresponsive script" shows up. I can't deal with the "unresponsive script" box as it doesn't have focus, and I can't complete the "Save As" operation because its script has become unresponsive. I end up having to Force-Quit Firefox via the Activity Monitor.
Any less brutal suggestions?figured it out:
- power off mac and turn back on while holding down Command + R (dont do it on an external keyboard just to be safe)
- choose the re-install Lion option (I'm sure there is another way to re-install Lion, this is just the way I did it, not saying its the best or only method)
- DO NOT INSTALL MACBOOK (Mid 2012) Software Update 1.0 - THIS SCREWS ADOBE UP! -
Dreamweaver CS4 - Update Template Files dialog box doesn't appear
I've just made a small change to my website's template file in Dreamweaver CS4, but I can't figure out how to apply the change to all pages on my site.
As I understand it, a dialog box is supposed to appear immediately after you hit 'Save'. This gives you 'Update' or 'Don't Update' options.
The box does not appear for me. No idea why - I saved the revised template and nothing happened!
Is there another way of updating the webpage files with the revised template? Or can it only be done though the dialog box? If so, how can I bring the box up?
Thanks for any tips, tricks, or explanations...Well, I'm not sure what rule I've broken. I followed the procedure set out in that tutorial to make my template in the first place, although I used Janine Warner's book 'Teach yourself Dreamweaver CS4' which goes through the same steps as the web tutorial - with the exception of the 'Apply your Dreamweaver template' section, which seems to suggest that you create your web pages first, and turn them into templates later.
I simply created my basic page layout, saved it as a template, and then created every page on my site by clicking 'New from template'. No problems, everything worked well.
I don't see why it would be necessary to create a new page from a template, and then apply the template to the page. Doesn't that amount to using two different methods to do the same thing twice? In any case, there's nothing in the book about 'Applying' a template, so I didn't do it. That's the only point of difference. But is it the problem? Is the book wrong?
Now I've got the book open in front of me at page 196 - 'Edit a template to update web pages created with it'. Interestingly, I may have discovered why it was not possible to edit my link in the Property Inspector.
The book remarks, more or less as an afterthought tacked on to the end of the page, that in order to use the Property Inspector to edit a template, I must first click on the element I wish to edit and then click 'Modify', 'Templates', and 'Make Attribute Editable'. Only then can changes be made.
The book says nothing about editing elements *without* using the Property Inspector, as I attempted when I tried the 'Insert Hyperlink' method, so I'm not sure whether this is possible or not. As it didn't work for me, I'd say not - but it would be nice if the book was specific on this point!
It's amazing how vague some of these tutorials can be - and also rather baffling that they can differ so much from each other. Website construction is all about specifics after all - everything is either 100% right, or 100% wrong. There shouldn't be any room for fuzziness. As it seems I have a specific problem, it must come from a specific, identifiable cause. It should be possible to say, "Ah, now if THAT is going wrong, the error must be HERE. Fix it by doing THIS."
Well, I'll try making the attributes of my elements editable now. I'm not sure if a text link counts as an element (that's another point on which my book is a little vague), but I dare say I'll find out shortly! -
Running a dual monitor setup with dreamweaver cs5 and the dialog boxes refuse to stay in the last place they were placed (or at the least stay on the monitor dreamweaver is in).
For example my dreamweaver runs on my right monitor and I go to select recently modified files, the dialog box for recently modified files options appears on the left monitor every single time. Is there a way to fix this or force dreamweaver to only use the right monitor?
Seems like a bug or a bad oversight. It is annoying having to go to the left monitor when I don't use that for dreamweaver...I'm having the same issue. My primary monitor is my right one but I keep DW open on the left monitor. I've written several extensions that we used in CS3 that worked fine but now they always open on the wrong monitor. Is this just a bug we have to deal with until Adobe comes out with a solution or does anyone know of a workaround?

I set up the computer such that the sleep locks the screen - need to type password to log back in. Right now, when I try to log back in, the dialog box does not let me type in the Name or Password boxes, can not click on ok or cancel... its as if the dialog box is all grayed out. I can not regain access. Its the first time it has happened. How can I get my dialog box to accept input? I'd prefer not to perform a simulated power failure...

if you have fast user switching turned on then wake from sleep dialog has a "switch users" button which will take you to the login window. you can try that if it's there. but if it's not there then there is nothing else you can do but do a hard reboot.

I have a dialog box in Mac OS calendar that says "moving calendars to server account. It has totally locked up the Calendar app. I have forced quit, restarted the Mac as well as Calendar but I can't use Calendar at all. How can I restore Calendar?

1. This happens at least once a day, and sometimes multiple times. Today it's happened twice, thus far. My home page is FoxNews.com and if I leave it up overnight or for longer periods during the day firefox doesn't allow the refresh of the home page it just goes to yahoo 404--error can't find the webpage. Then when I enter FoxNews.com it adds a /error to the url and doesn't allow me to go to MY homepage. So I close firefox and then if I try to reopen it and then I get the dialog box saying firefox is open and to close it or restart my computer. Very aggravating. 2. Also the Adobe flash drive update always fails. 3. Webpages get in loops and fail to load to the point I have to stop and refresh or close out and reopen.
One situation in which Command+w or Ctrl+w might not work is if the "focus" is in a plugin such as the Flash player used on Youtube after you interact with the player controls. Firefox will continue to send the keyboard input to the plugin until you move the focus back to the page. Does that account for any of the problem?

im locked out of my ipod, and the screen isnt responding when i go to swipe to unlock it or when i swipe to turn it off. All of my notifications are there but i cant reply to any of them. My screen is completly unresponsive. But, in the top left hand corner, there is an outline of a box. how do i fix this?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
