Locked out!

Hi, my brother locked me out of my ipod overnight and when i now try and use it i get the message  -  ipod is disabled connect to itunes. The issue here is that the pc with my itunes account on no longer works. am i right in thinking if I conect to another pc I will only get the tunes I have bought from I tunes, most of my music I have added myself from CDs. Is there a way of getting all my music back please?

The only way that you can get your own music back is it you have it all backed up on an external drive or on a mother computer which I'm guessing you do not have.
You will have to restore the device with another computer and you will lose all content on the iDevice when you restore it because you have no backup for it. You will be able to download your purchased music again as long as you use the same Apple ID and iTunes account that you bought the music with and if the downloading past purchases feature is available where you live.

  • Locked out of additional internal drives... Help please

Any help would be more then welcomed as I did something stupid and need a bit of help to fix it please.
Had an issue today on my Mac Pro (2.8, Quad 5.1). All was running fine until I went to update a piece of 3rd party software (Fetch). After the download I went to drag new version into my apps folder and was told I didn't have permission to instal the app.
Now to be clear, I've had a bit of an issue with this before as I'm running 2 mac pros in different locations and drag and copy files and folders from here to there on a regular basis via FTP and external drives. I also have all 4 slots filled on both systems with various drives set up for a particular function along with a number of externals. I've set permissions on both systems and all drives to "read and write" for both my accounts to have full access and each time "apply to enclosed items" was selected.
But for some reason, from time to time, I have to authorise the file transfer. Haven't figured out the reason but it's not a huge deal so have left it.
Today was the first time I have had access denied for my home folder when working from same system. Not thinking and while on the phone to someone (this is where I did the stupid part), I opened the info on my boot (startup) drive and decided to add both of my user accounts and change permissions for each in addition to the system, admin and everyone that was already there. This was done while working from it directly and then set options to "apply to enclosed items". Yea, smart I know.
About 20 minutes passed and then it told me that it didn't like any of my system extensions. I was forced to do a restart and got the spinning wheel for about 30 minutes. Had to do a force quit and open in single user. Applejack wouldn't help at all, nothing. Had to then open cd drive through terminal just to get systems disk inside.
Restarted from systems disk and tried a simple disk utility repair. System restarted fine but I noticed that I was then locked out of all of my additional internal drives, iDisk included (padlock shown on all drive icons excluding my Boot/Startup drive). Tried opening info on the various drives with apple i option and "permissions denied" popped up each time.
I then took the step to restore from time machine. Set my restore selection to about 2 hours before I became an idiot. After it was finished I restarted the system hoping that would clear up my mistake but same thing, still locked out of all of my drives aside from boot/startup drive.
All user accounts that I have added to the boot drive are still showing, I have yet to try and remove them... Figured I would ask for help before I messed it up any further. Spoke to apple care and they have advised me to do what I have done so far.
Aside from an erase and instal, what steps should I take from this point? Will removing the added accounts clear up the issue?
Also, any idea as to why I was refused permissions to begin with...?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the book, just wanted to be as clear as possible.

  • Can you 'lock out' a workstation via ZENworks?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to 'lock out' a workstation via
ZENworks so users can no longer log into the workstation temporarily.
This is the scenario - when someone within our company orders a new
workstation, they will many times tell us that the workstation is being
replaced when in reality the old workstation it is replacing is never
    taken off the network.
The problem? - we do not charge any new license fees for replacement
workstations PROVIDING the old workstation is disposed of (that way we
are able to transfer the licenses from the old to the new). If the old
workstation is still used, we are in violation of license fees.
Solution? - 'lock out' the old workstation so no one can use it any
longer unless they call our Helpdesk and it is 'unlocked' at which time
we remind them of the license charges.
I am not sure how this can be performed. We currently do something
similar with NEW XP PCs that have no local user accounts on them yet
(basically we enable login restrictions under the DLU policy - if the
workstation can't create a local user account for the user, they can't
log into the network or the PC). That solution would not work in this
case though since the local accounts would already be created on the PC.
We don't want to remove any software from the machine that will need to
be reinstalled in case the site does want to keep the machine on the
network after a new one is purchased. The solution should be designed to
easily enable the machine if the site does decide they want to keep the
machine on the network. Later on we would FDISK the PC for disposal.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as ALWAYS!
    Steve

Perhaps a Workstation Associated app that just pushed an invalid value for the
    GINA.DLL
Either Remote Regedit or another Force-Run app could restore this to a correct
    value.
Needs testing to make sure you can fix what you break, but this would lead
    everything intact.

  • My old Apple Id can no longer be accessed due to my original e-mail being locked out. How can I switch Apple ID's without access to the one my phone continues to use?

My old hotmail account which has my old Apple ID (which is still connected to my phone) has been locked out. I have forgot the password to my original Apple ID and a recovery cannot be sent to my old account due to me not being locked out (believe someone has hacked it). I have set up a new Apple ID with a seperate e mail adress, however I cannot use the App Store because of my phone only recognizing the original e-mail I can no longer acess. Please help.

  • STARTSAP_NBAS DDIC password locking out

    Guys,
We are doing 4.6c upgrade to ERP6 and during STARTSAP_NBAS phase DDIC locking out and cant start SAP original system. We tried to unlock the password and also did the reset using SAPup reset DDICpwd. But its still locking out.
When we tried to login to the system using GUI through DDIC we can login but when we try reset the password in SU01 we are getting syntax error " The data object "*USH02" does not have a component called "PASSCODE"."
    Please help
Reward points will be awarded for helpful answers
    Thanks
    Santosh

    Hi Santosh,
The problem is clear that the table USH02 is not updated during upgrade
so that it is not synchronized with table USR02. Please check table
USH02 and USR02 table in database level, compare the PASSCODE field in
both tables. (most probably there is no PASSCODE field for USH02 in db
level as well). If so, you could do the following:
    1. Change the DDIC password to 19920706 at the table level:
        update sapr3.usr02 set bcode='61D26428640DBAB5'
                              where bname='DDIC' and mandt='000';
    2. Remove the lockflag
         update sapr3.usr02 set uflag=0;
    3. Change the DDIC password to 19920706 for the upgrade using:
    SAPUp set ddicpwd
    4. Then restart the system, and login again.

  • AD account getting locked out after password change in Jabber

When user changes his network credentials and does not update them in Jabber. Jabber will still try to connect to phone services and voicemail with the old credentials which is leading to their account getting locked in AD after three attempts.
We are using Jabber 9.6.1, so a fairly new version.
Can some suggest if there is a workaround?

    Hi,
We are seeing a similar issue after the user has changed their AD password the account repeatedly gets locked out when they try to log into Jabber.
We are also using Cisco IM&P and our CUCM is LDAP synced
I am interested to know why you are asking if LDAP authentication is configured?

  • Unity Connection - Users with system default password getting locked out

Hi all, hope everyone is well !!
I am experiencing a strange problem and hope someone can give me some direction on where to start digging on this issue.
I am getting a good number of users reporting they are getting locked out of their voice mail and they all claim that they have not changed their password and some user even got their greeting recorded by someone else. One thing in common for the users who reported the issue is that they all using the system default password. I am trying to trace to find out who/what has access to these users' mailbox but so far I have not had any luck.
    Thanks in advance !!
    Danny

Thanks, yes am doing that now and cant really find any new/unique pattern. Plus the trace is pretty hard to follow. Cant really figure out any times stamps in the trace also. The current trace file is defaultTrace.18.trc and it has very simiiar content as some of the older ones before the problem. Right now the ESS portal is working and the slddsuser password is not locked. It seems the problem takes place on start up?
    /usr/sap/ESS/JC77/j2ee/cluster/server0/log
Tough thing to test in production.
I wonder what takes place at startup that would kick this problem off?

  • Locked out of my iPhone 4 but iTunes won't let me restore it. Help!

I'm locked out of my iPhone 4 but when I try to connect it to iTunes to unlock and restore it, iTunes is requiring me to enter my passcode on my phone, which the phone won't let me do because I'm locked out. Help please!?

You need to restore using the computer you previouisly synced with, otherwise you'll be asked for the passcode.
You didn't forget your passcode (that you use every day) AND lose the computer you sync with on the same day, right?  In that case, get the passcode from the phone's actual owner, or use recovery mode.

  • Help! Locked out of my work computer?!

    Hello,
I work for myself from home, and I am locked out of my 2010 Macbook Air. I do not remember the password, I also do not have the original installation cds that came with it. All that it says when it turn it on is my name, with a place to type the password, and "cancel" at the bottom, that's it. As for the operating system, I belive it is Mavericks. Can somone please help me log back into my computer?

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.
