Locked page in Contribute

I have downloaded the trial version of Adobe Contribute yesterday and am receiving the following message when editing a page: 'You can't perform this operation on this page now because (username) is currently editing or reveiwing it'.
The program was originally installed on another computer (version CS3) but crashed and we are unable to find the original software (due to multiple staff member changes since the time it was purchased in 2007) – when I contacted the support team they advised that I could either find the serial number and call back (which I have done but after holding for well over an hour and a half had to give up as I have a job to do) or download the trial version to patch up the site which is where I have encountered the above problem.
I have consulted the help section and looked at other online forums with no joy. There are no .lck files stored anywhere in our server or on the computer with the original software (which appears to the be logical explanation according to most other forum questions) and no pages are showing in Contribute as locked and as the other computer with the original software does not even open I cannot understand how it is still logged in as it crashed on opening rather than in the middle of a page edit!
Please can someone advise as our website needs urgent updating!

Following are reason which can cause this error.
The user editing the page in IBE and closed the browser without publishing or discarding the edits.
The page is currently being edited by another user.
The publish operation for the page fails.
Contribute was forcibly restarted during the edit process.
The reviewer has not ended the review, or is inactive for a long time.
You may try the steps mentioned in the kb article linked below.

How to unlock Frames in Dreamweaver so I can edit pages in Contribute

I use Contribute to update content.
Recently my designer added google-ads in frames using Dreamweaver.
Now my Contribute is not allowing me to edit pages where google-ads was added.
It says the frames are locked and shows the lock icon.
The designer who did the work in Dreamweaver says everything is unlocked in Dreamweaver.
What do we need to do:
1. unlock the frames in Dreamweaver so I can edit the pages in Contribute
2.does the google-ad code need to be put in on each page rather than as a Frame?

When you say 7 pages, do you mean 7 sheets?
What version of Numbers?
In Numbers 3.2 the sheet tabs are across the top:

How Do I Add an Existing htm file to the list of pages in Contribute ?

We have a copy of Contribute. We were told that you could
create pdf files on the fly - - when we tried to do this we got an
error message saying we needed to have Adobe 8 pdf creator. This is
more expense to an already expensive project. I can create a web
page from Excel or WORD and I want to know how to link that page in

I think you think of:
Project settings:
Configurations-Development-Libraries...
There you can create a new Library which contains your jar..
And also it is in Tools/Manage libraries menu..
There you must add user libraries

Once you set a Pages document password, you will need it again to unlock the document. There is no other available unlocking technique, as many before you have discovered. Tell your mind to recall your document password, and then stop trying to remember it. Let your subconscious retrieve it.
In the future, keep a secure, analog list of your passwords as backup.

.asp page and Contribute CS4

I have a member.asp page that site members are redirected to once logging in to the site through login.asp. Within the member.asp page is a text area that my client would be able to upload additional text and mp3 files for members to view using Contribute. The problem I'm having is that the member.asp page looks correct when I view it in Dreamweaver both local and remote, but when I view that page in Contribute it looks like the login.asp page.
I'm sure I'm missing something. I had the .asp set up performed by a programmer and everything seems to be working fine with the database and login functions.

I'm getting this error, although I have assigned all the needed privilegs to root and I am logged in as root. I have done everything described in the guidelines to get the privilegs, but still this warning occurs.
But my application still works completely with no appreciable differences.
So my question is: Does this warning affect the performance of my application?? Or can I live with this warning?

Determinism is an important issue in my application. That's why page locking should be active in my application. When I'm determining the ScopedMemory size via VM like:
... -XX:ScopedSize=500000000 ...Then page locking works with a size of 500 mb very well. But when I try to set the ScopedSize value to 1 gb, then the exception (unable to lock page...) is thrown. So it seems as if I had all the required rights, but the huge size is not supported.
The System has about 6 gb of DDR2Ram and minimum 5 gb are free during starting the VM. So are there any other parameters except ScopedSize that I can change, to allow the VM to lock memory with a size of about 1 gb? Or where is the problem with locking such big sizes?

Help with editing web pages in Contribute

Once I am connected to the website I want to edit and I click
on "edit page" in Contribute, the screen turns gray and I cannot
edit anything. It saves as a "draft" and I could publish it but it
won't allow me to see the web page I am editing. Help!

Difficulty editing a page using contribute.

I am having difficulty editing a page using contribute. All other pages for this website can be opened and edited using contribute, except this one.
The file can be viewed in Contribute, but when I scroll over the page content and click on the edit botton nothing happens
I previously could edit this file in contribute.

WebDAV not connecting to Adobe Connect Event pages for Contribute 4.

I'm having no luck in connecting to the Adobe Connect Event
pages using WebDAV in Contribute 4. This worked just fine in
Contribute 3, but for version 4, I just get an error stating,
"Contribute cannot connect to the server. Please check your
connection information or contact your administrator."
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue and get a successful
WebDAV connection to the Adobe Connect Event pages using Contribute

I did some more tests. This time, I removed some SSIDs (although the documentation says that Cisco Aironet AP’s support up to 16 SSIDS), but the problem persisted. The “problematic” android devices can only connect to the eduroam wireless network if, and only if, ALL the VLAN’s defined in the Access Point are encrypted. More: once connected, if I change the AP configuration and disable the encryption in a VLAN, other than the one where the device is connected, it simply get instantaneously disconnected – as soon as I press the Enter in the CLI or as soon as I click ‘Apply’ if configuring via HTTP.
In the next table are some devices where this behavior were observed.

Locking pages on Acrobat Professional

Have just started using Acrobat Professional and was
wondering how you lock pages so that you can only navigate around
the document using the links. At the moment when you just click
anywhere on the page it takes you to the next page and i want to
stop this happening. Does anyone know if this can be done?

Lock pages document while editing

Hi,
I need to have multiple users contribute to the same pages document. The document has been placed on a network share. Currently Pages 09 allows different people in different offices open the same document, make changes and save. When they do that the changes made by other users who have it open at the same time are discarded.
If the document is actively being modified by one person I'd like to prevent it from being edited by anyone else.
Word on the PC only allows others to open it in read only mode if someone else currently has it open. It would be great if I could make pages do that.

Called Apple support, talked to pages department. According to the representative I spoke with, pages is designed for individual single users, not necessarily schools or corporate collaborative multi-user environments.
The rep said a feature request would be sent to engineering regarding locking the document so multiple people can't edit it at the same time discarding each others changes. I need to purchase office 2011 and do some testing in the mean time I guess.

How can I lock Pages and Numbers files on my desktop?

I have a Numbers spreadsheet and some documents in Pages that I'd like to 'lock' or password protect. The old Appleworks program used to allow me to 'lock' files. Is there a way to do this using Lion or is there a simple app I can use?

There is a way to do that in both Pages and Numbers in Snow Leopard; I don;t have Lion available to see if that was carried forward to it.
In SL, with the document open click the Inspector button in the toolbar for the document. In the Inspector window, click the leftmost icon in its toolbar ("document inspector" in the popup tooltip), If a Pages document, also then click the Document button below that icon.
Then, at the bottom of the window look for an item "Require password to open" - checkmark that, and you'll be prompted to set a password.

New wiki page, please contribute - Gnome 2.28 Changes

Since upgrading to Gnome 2.28, the automounter disregards any custom mount options in /system/storage/default_options/vfat
The automounting I suppose is now handled via the devicekit-disks package with options hardcoded. I don't know of any way to override the default except modifying/patching the source to what *I* want. What has worked for several versions of Gnome has stopped.

If the custom mount options have to be put in a configuration file somewhere, the default schema/entry descriptions should be modified to inform us about this.

Lock Page View for all pages in a document.

Can I lock or freeze a Page View (Zoom Level and Pan Location) for a document while scrolling through the pages in a document? In other words: I want to see only a specific region of all the pages, while scrolling through the document. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

You may be able to do that with JavaScript (check the scripting forum for help there). Otherwise, I think I remember such in the preflight options. At least worth a check.
