PUK = Pin Unlock Key.
Your cellular carrier can help you, talk to them.

  • PUK locked SIM and PUK provided on "MYVerizon" doesn't work?

So I have a PUK locked SIM and the PUK that is provided on "MYVerizon" doesn't work? I've had this phone for about a week and have had no problems with it. I set up my own pin and everything but when i went to disable the pin it kept saying it was wrong until it locked up on me. I've been up for hours on this website trying to figure this out and cant.... PLEASE HELP ME!!

All you need to do is explain to the person that the phone will not operate unless activated. You cannot access any other settings until activated. The phone is carrier locked, and unless you did not indicate this in the sale, it is the buyer's problem. They would need to contact the carrier the device is locked to and see if they provide unlocking services and if they do if she qualifies. If you advertised a carrier locked device and she purchased it, then she got what she paid for.
Last item you can tell her is to check the Apple website about how to activate a phone. It explains it.

  • Problem unlocking Locked SIM with correct code

I bought my unlocked iPhone 5 in the United States in October of 2014 and have used it on an Irish network carrier for the last few months. Everytime I turn on my phone I enter my PIN code and then a message pops up saying 'Locked SIM' and gives me an option of 'OK' or 'Unlock'. I always am able to unlock it using my network unlocking code but for some reason when I turned on my phone today and entered my network unlocking code, it won't unlock. It just says 'Unlocking.... please wait' and then nothing happens. How do I rectify this problem? Do I go to my network provider or an Apple store?

For the SIM pin you go to the network provider. You may need to get the SIM replaced.

contact to nearest service provider office other wise at the back ok jacket of sim card there is a puk code
Not all networks provide the PUK code on the packaging of the SIM. You can always log into your provider's site if you have set up an account, and the PUK code is usually available in there. Obviously if you've not yet set up an account you have to call customer service. There may be a charge associated with obtaining the PUK from them rather than looking it up in your account.

  • German simyo SIM card "locked sim" in iphone 4

I'm moving to Germany for a while and I bought a German SIM card to save on call charges. It's a Simyo SIM card.
I had it delivered to my UK address and put it in my iphone 4 (unlocked) but when it powered up it says " locked sim" and asks for a passcode (only 3 attempts) does anyone know why this is? It's been fine on all UK providers, and I would like to sort it out before I go I 2 days time!
    HELP PLEASE!!
    Gaz

Hi, I tried to but it's email only and they are not responding, I also emailed the seller I bought it from and again no response. I'm hoping its just because its locked outside of Germany as most cards are and that when I get there it will decide to work.

  • Just updated my old iphone4, it as no sim card in, as i use it mainly for playing music.updated it to ios7 and when i intially open it up, it asked for a sim lock code.was'nt sure of this. i put the passlock code in. now its asking for a PUK code.

***.are Apple doing? why offer an update without warning people about the  consequences!
I've just updated my old iphone4 to ios7. this phone as no sim card, as i use it more like an ipod..after the update it ask for a code, i put in the passlock code.
Unbeknown to me the sim lock and the passlock codes were different! as the sim as been deactiavted by my carrier they cant give me a PUK code!
I'm now stuck with a phone i cant use
    any suggestions please!

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

  • Lost my SIM card's PIN code and PUK code!!!!

I lost my SIM card's PIN codes and PUK code.
Our mobile provider is not helpful. We have to give around $100 to unlock these codes. I cannot spend $100 for it. I'm from Myanmar (Burma).
My phone is Nokia E63. But I still got that problem in all other handsets like; Nokia 6300 and Nokia 1280
Is there any ways to unlock my phone?
    Please help me.
    Queenie

    Exactly.
Either way round you must remember that the SIM and any codes related to it are the property of your network. THEY control what happens to it.

  • Locked SIM:  need PUK code to unlock

Anyone got an answer to this? AT&T recommends that i restore to default settings through iTunes. All my settings and contacts, etc. will all have to be re-synced. Anyway around that option?

From AT&T page. How to unblock SIM card...
You'll need your phone in hand to unblock your SIM Card.
First, enter the 8-digit PUK code, then press OK/Yes.
Note: Some Motorola phone users will need to enter *05 if "enter PUK" is not already displayed. After entering *05, then enter the 8-digit PUK code and press OK.
Select a new PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
Re-enter the PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
If the codes were entered successfully, the phone is ready for use.
Important: If the incorrect PUK (Pin Unlock Key) code is entered 10 times in a row, the SIM card will become permanently locked, and you must purchase a new SIM card. If your device is requesting PUK 2 please call Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500.
    Good Luck with it.

  • Accidentally locked iPhone 4s SIM card? Need PUK code.

The phone was given to me secondhand by a friend. It has no sevice since I cannot use it with my carrier, and I use it kind of like an iPod touch. How can I get the PUK code?

Contact the wireless provider to which the iPhone is locked and ask them
    for the PUK.
Be advised, you will need a sim in the iPhone to be able to activate it. The
sim does not have to be associated with an active account; however, if the
iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, the sim must be from that wireless
    provider.
Be sure your friend did the following so you can make the iPhone yours:
Before Selling/Giving Away an iOS Device
Backup the device to iTunes or iCloud, if desired: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    Settings > Messages > iMessage > Off
    Settings > FaceTime > Off
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (this only unregisters and deletes it off the iPhone)
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
    More Info... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661

I have locked my sim on my iPad mini. Need my puk code but it's 7 hours drive away from me. My VPN settings are all erased due to I did a reset of my settings. Does anyone know how to reset without puk code.? Let me know would be appreciated

    Hey Mattyb28nz,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you need to enter the PUK code and do not have it. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iOS: Understanding the SIM PIN - Apple Support
    Personal Unlocking Key (PUK)
If you enter the PIN incorrectly three times, you may need to enter a Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) to enable your SIM card again. Refer to the SIM card documentation or contact your carrier.
Note: Entering an incorrect PUK code too many times will result in the SIM becoming permanently locked. If this occurs, you will need to contact your carrier for a replacement SIM card.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a great day,
    Mario
