Locking a table and then releasing the lock...

Gurus,
I ant to lock a table DMS_LO_CD1 and then do certain upodate and then release the lock after that.
How can I d this ?

Do the following steps..
GO TO SE11
Select the radio button "Lock object"..
Give the name starts with EZ or EY..
Example: EYTEST
Press Create button..
Give the short description..
Example: Lock object for table ZTABLE..
In the tables tab..Give the table name..
Example: ZTABLE
Save and generate..
Your lock object is now created..You can see the LOCK MODULES..
In the menu ..GOTO -> LOCK MODULES..There you can see the ENQUEUE and DEQUEUE function

When I follow the instructions in the error message, it shows that my user name has read and write access. There are a couple other items that are read only. I tried to change this to read and write, but the Sharing and Permissions options are greyed out and will not let me change them. What is the work around for this? I would really like to install the new firefox.

I have an iPod touch 2G and I can't set up a passcode lock. I hit "Turn Passcode on" and then enter the passcode I want. Then it brings me back to the Passcode Lock Screen, NOT turning on my passcode.

That usually means your phone is locked to a different phone carrier than the one you're trying to use.
YOu would need to conact the carrier the phone is locked to and see if they can unlock it for you. ONly the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.

Trash can sometimes fail to empty if a file that has been moved into the Trash is in use by another application.
Restart your machine and try empty the Trash. It should work.
If there are locked files, either you or another user has locked the file, to empty them from Trash the admin (or user) Password is usually prompted before allowing the locked file to be removed.

I have created some objects such as pages and iviews in the portal. If i edited any of the object, then when next time when i access the object, I am hgetting a message as object is locked by admin, you canot edit it. Infact, I have logged in as admin.
How can we release the lock of objects?

Login as the Portal Administrator.
Go to System Administration > Monitoring ->Detailed navigation -> Object Locking
Here you can find all the objects that are in locked state.
Now to unlock, tick mark the object that you want to work with & click on the "Unlock" Button.

Can I release the lock of the objects other than the method WDDOEXIT method. If yes please tell me how?
The reason being WDDOEXIT is not called during the close.

I think the bigger question is to why WDDOEXIT is not called. What you describe is exactly what WDDOEXIT is designed for. This is the part of the phase model that is fired when the session times out or the browser closes. This should work for just this purpose.

3.0EA1: Trace files locked on open and not released on closing file

I have discovered that SQL Developer locks trace files when they are opened (at least on Win XP SP 3), which it doesn't do with sql or pl/sql files. Also, even after closing the file in SQL Developer, the lock isn't released - you need to close SQL Developer to release the lock to be able to move/rename/delete the trace file.

Have to disagree here, Apple have not even announced an iphone 5, it is pointless to speculate that we will see one or not see one until Apple actually releases a statement. ios was built and tested on the iphone 4 so there will not be any slowdown or laggyness compared to a phone that has not been released yet.
If we are advising potential apple product buyers then we should not be putting them off buying a iphone 4 on speculations alone. Just because apple have for the last few years released an iphone every june/july does not mean then have to stick to this approach.
Apple have not issued any statement regarding an iphone 5, until this time it does not exist, only in heresay on the internet.
Any one looking to get an iphone 4, to you i would say waiting until ios 5 is released is a personal choice, no matter if you wait or not you will be able to update via itunes. One way or another in the future you will have to do an ios update via itunes whether this is the 5.0 software or 5,2,1.
Please note that Apple are very closed mouthed about new hardware releases and potentially a new iphone could be round the corner, however there is no evidence to suggerst this, i.e Apple have not even mentioned an iphone 5 this year anything you hear towards the contrary is media spin thus far and speculation.
ios 5 was built and tested to work seamlessly on iphone 4, the beta software released to developers is being tested on iphone 4. Please do not listen to people telling you that the iphone 4 will not run this ios as well as a phone that does not exist yet. When iphone 5 launches it will most likely have dual processors and not until its launch will the next gen apps start appearing.

You have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers to turn it off. Go into Settings > General > Accessibility to disable it.
If that doesn't work...
Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
