Locking form but not fillable areas so Adobe Readers can use it.

I made a form in Adobe Acrobat 9 that has fillable fields in it. When I email it to people they are unable to save it. The pop-up message they get is below.
I use security setting to make it compatible with Acrobat 3.0 and above, set Permissions with Changes Allowed (Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing existing signature fields)
What do I need to do to fix this?

In Acrobat, select: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
This will give the document certain usage rights and allow Reader users to save a modified document.

I'm sure this has been discussed and the answer is somewhere, I just can't find it.

The problem in WORD was likely you created the form (don't bother with the fields, do that in Acrobat) without the Adobe PDF printer selected in the print menu. WORD reflows text based on the printer attached. Thus you created the form with maybe a laser jet printer attached and then printed to PDF, changing the layout.
When I say AcroForms of forms in Acrobat, I mean using the tools at TOOLS>Advanced editing that provide the form field tools. If you use the forms menu, that typically takes you to Designer to create the form, something that may appear to be transparent. Either is OK, but it is worth being aware of how you created the forms.

Data typed into this form will not be saved. Adobe Reader can only save a blank copy of this form.

This message is new. I have never had this issue before on my system. 3 days ago I created a PDF using LiveCycle Designer ES2 at my office - exactly like I have done for the past 2 years - and now I get this message when I try to open the PDF on my home system. I have always been able to work with these files until today. Yesterday I installed Office 365 and now I apparently have Reader XI on my system. Now every form I was able to open in the past will not allow data to save. What's the deal?

This is all odd as this form is designed explicity with digital signatures, and has always worked; hundreds of people have used this form extensively since late 2012, and I have tested it hundreds of times - it has always worked, never had this issue. Unfortunately every PC in my home has Reader XI installed as of today (no Standard or Pro versions) and I will have to hunt for PCs that have only Reader (no Pro or Standard) at work.

Webutil - works in the form but not in the forms menu

I have some code which calls webutil to do an AS to client file transfer.
This works fine when called from a button in the form.
If I have a menu on this form, and perform the same code to call webutil I get an error:
oracle.forms.webutil.fileTransfer.FileTransfer bean not found WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.getMaxTransfer will not work
So the same code will work when in the body of the form but not when in the menu.
The forms has opened up and instantiated all of its objects at both times I try to run it. But it fails from the menu code call.
Any thoughts on why one works and the other doesn't gratefull received.

solution:
We have created a wrapper-form with in the webutil functionality has been implemented (with a dummy-Item).
In the form we have created a When-Timer-Expired trigger and implemented the Filetransfer functionality. Then Exit_Form.
This wrapper-form was then called from the menu.

Textbox Data Binding in VS 2008, Works on a Main form but not in a Dialog!

I got a perplexing problem here with Databindings. I'm using a POCO class for XML serialization that implements the INotifyPropertyChanged. I'm using Visual Basic 2008 and unfortunately I have to keep the program that way!
I have two projects: One is a Main WinForm, and the other one I'm working with another engineer and I'm trying to create a dialogbox for the users to enter in data (ie: user name, calibration data, etc)
In my Main Winform, I'm doing databinding like this:
TextBoxUserName.DataBindings.Add("Text", data, "Name", False, DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged)
And it works fine, but when I do this in the dialogbox form, NOTHING is being updated. Not the textbox nor the data.name member (which is also a string)
So what's the problem then? How come it works in the instance of the Main Winform but not in the dialogbox?

Make sure your Mac can run Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
v10.9 Mavericks no longer available from the App Store but may be able to acquire a redemption code from Apple via email.
Open the App Store. Select either Features, Top Charts, or Categories in the menu top of the window.
Then click Support under Quick Links right of the App Store window then click Contact Support.

Your users would have to be using a PDF viewer that supports form features. I can't recommend any in particular but you can try looking around to see what's available.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
If you use Windows you may like to try scanning the files with MP3Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/control clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags> None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g.convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.
