Locking in a controller...

I heard a while back that you can lock in a remote to a specific mac, is this true and how?

Yes. You have to "Pair" the remote to the machine. This way you can have multiple remotes in the same room and each will work with a specific device withou interfeering with the rest. There is a description on how to do this on your apple booklet.

  • SCORE: Sustain Pedal + SMPTE-Lock = Ped. Markings Disappear (Bug?)

Sustain pedal markings normally displayed in the Score Editor will disappear from view if the region becomes SMPTE-locked. The controller information itself is still there (it can be seen via hyperdraw or in the event editor) but the pedal graphics disappear in Score. Doesn't seem normal. Can anyone confirm this lil' scenario?

    iSchwartz,
No Latin. Miss Becker taught it in highschool and I didn't want anything to do with her, except to farm her front yard one Halloween.
I tried to teach myself classic Greek, as in Homer, but I couldn't find any native speakers with which to converse and gave it up.
I also have had courses in French, Russian and Vietnamese, but can't speak any of it. Retained a teeney bit of each.
On the othe hand, I can really read and write Fortran.
And spread the word that animism isn't dirty. I laughed with Rohan, but animism, to me, is the idea that the spirit of life is in everything. Everything is conscious, even though it may not say much. I am animistic to the extent that I really compliment my car on the great job it does. And hope it will keep doing it.
And I see a tie-in to Latin, since animism dervies from the Latin anima meaning breath or soul.
Do not apply for membership. Animism is not a religion, so I hear.

  • Using the "silicon controller" on the MSI NEO4 PLAT SLI, quick question!

I have a stable OC w/ my FX55 (261x11) 2.87GHz, but now I want to use the Silicon Controller, and not just my NVIDIA controller. Does the MSI NEO4 PLAT SLI "LOCK" the silicon controller, so since my FSB is OC'ed, I dont want any problems.... By not using all 4 ports on the NVIDIA controller, will this maybe "relax" the nvidia controller, and not let it work so hard, or does it not matter. (overall speed wise)

All of the PCI-E devices are locked, so that includes the SiI3132 controller and the Marvell Gigabit NIC.    One note, it's best to use the SiI3132 "last".    AnandTech did a benchmark of the two controllers, and the onboard nVIDIA controller was faster, although the 3132 PCI-E controller was much faster than the competitions use of PCI based SiI3112 controllers.   If you've already used your nVIDIA controller for 4 SATA or SATA II devices, then by all means use the SiI3132 without overclocking fear.

  • Logic Pro 8 midi controller or caps lock won't process midi

OK. I was trying to figure out WHY my arpeggiator will only allow me to use a zone higher than C-2. I need to be able to use C-1 and above (Ultrabeat).  So, I read somewhere that it could possibly be something with the control surface. So I go digging over there. At that moment I did nothing but check and close everything out. I didn't change anything. Then, my midi won't work from my controller or caps lock. So I worsened things (probably) by resetting midi in the "midi" setting in preferences AND scanning for surfaces in the control surfaces panel. Now get this...it only applies to this song. It is perfectly fine on any other songs I open. I also notice now that there is a white bar to the left of the tracks. It doesn't appear to be nothing serious though. Please someone help me. I have a serious deadline due and I cannot afford this setback.
    Thanks in advance!!!

OK....I got it working again. Pay attention to what you do in the Environment kids!!! But new problem...My arpeggiator won't arpeggiate. Any solutions?

  • A controller with the WLAN locked

We have inherited a wireless network with 2000 & 4000 controllers. One of the controller has WLAN locked, so when users are attempting to login to this wireless network, they get a prompt, saying ?This network access needs a key to be authenticated; to connect to this WLAN?
I have looked up & down the controller config, but can;t find a place where I would unlock that WLAN. Can anyone please point me to where this setting is on the controller?
    Thanks.
    _ greg

    Thanks for your response.
The wlan appears with the padlock next to it. We have layer 2 security set to 802.x on the controller and 802.11 data encryption to "wep". Is the padlock the result of enabling layer 2 security or setting the 802.11 data encryption to "wep"?
    Thanks again...

  • Locked Frequency on Promise SATA/PATA Controller on K8T Neo FIS2R?

We all know that there is no PCI lock on any K8T800.  However, this link to an Athlon 64 info page on Mushkin's website declares that the Promise contoller on the Asus K8V board has a "locked" frequency.  You'll have to scroll down to the heading "The boards currently most in demand for the Athlon64 are:" and read the *.
Question number 1, does the K8T Neo have an identical Promise controller to the Asus K8V (I think it does)?  Question number 2, is it even possible for any SATA/PATA controller to "lock" it's frequency since it's on a PCI bus?  Question number 3, can anyone verify that this frequency is locked or not?
I know there are software tools out there to check the hypertransport speed, etc.  but is there a tool that could test the speed at the controller?  If this link from Mushkin is true, then you would be crazy to overclock on anything but the Promise controller given the history of this board scrambling hard drives when overclocked.

Actually, it's a 4.5 pound Smallmouth Bass I caught at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia last March.  It was taken with a digital camera and I had to shrink down the size to fit here, but no editing was done.  It's the real deal.  Almost worthy of a citation, missed it by a half pound or a half inch.

  • Wireless Controller locking down User per SSID

I am using Wireless Controller 4112. We use WPA enterprise mode for authentication and encryption via Microsoft IAS server and MS AD domain.
My question is how to lock down a user to a specific SSID? I would guess that this is via some vendor specific radius attributes, am I right? And if so, what would be the name (and ID) for the attributes?
    Thanks in advance.

Making progress in setting up the wireless controller with multiple VLAN and WLAN/SSID. I create a virtaul interface at the controller and assign a VLAN number to it. The controller mgmt port is also set to a trunk port. Create a new SSID WLAN and have it mapped to the new virtual interface. Things work good.
The new problem I am trying to solve is how to prevent wired users to access the controller admin web interface via the virtual interface IP. I try create ACL and map it to the virtual interface. It doesn't seem working.

  • Locking midi controller expression data to midi note data.  How to do it?

I am recording some sax and trumpet lines into Logic using Samplemodeling software (The Trumpet, The Sax Brothers). The data goes into Logic on a midi channel.
At the same time as playing the notes, I am using an expression pedal to control different aspects of the sound (cc64, but it could be set to anything midi controller number, as long as I also set it in the Samplemodeling software and make sure that Logic receives and Samplemodeling sends on the same midi channel).
The midi note data and midi data record properly. However, I am having a problem with editing. If I move the note in time (i.e. shift it left or right in piano roll), the cc64 data does not move with it. I can see the data, and of course, could cut and paste it or hyper draw it, but that would be very time consuming. Is there a way to lock the expression data to the note data so that when you move the note the midi controller data moves as well. I assume the same question would apply to pitch/volume/pan or any other controller, but I have not tried that.
Alternately, is there another way to record the data, so it is locked to the midi notes?
    Many thanks
    Steven
If it is relevant, I am using:
    Logic 9 Studio
    Mac 2.93 Dual Quad
    Novation Keyboard

Well, I routed around in the manual and finally found the answer. There is a pull down menu which allows you to choose to tie together the non-note midi data to the note data.
"Turn on the Functions > Include Non-Note MIDI Events setting to tie other data (such as pitch-bend, modulation, aftertouch, or poly pressure) in a region to the region’s notes."
    Problem solved.

  • Dodgy cable? Atheros gigabit controller locks up.

Removing & reloading the module appears to work (no errors & nothing unusual in dmesg output), but all I get is "link is not ready" until I reboot the machine.
I suspect this is caused by a dodgy cat5 cable on the other side of the switch, however my PCIE Realtek card does not have a problem. In the same test the transfer completes succesfully with no errors at all.

If this is a cable problem I would expect media errors, but i would also expect a reset / retry rather than a dead NIC until reboot.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
    Cheers,
    Steve.

I have same problem.  actually works fine for a couple of days sometimes.  then other days have to keep resetting the router.  i've tried all the fixes online and also reinstalled.  waited on hold with the 800 number for 1 hour never got through.

  • Visual Studio Test Controller recovery locks out the user domain account, cannot log into PC

On the recovery tab of the Visual studio Test controller Services properties dialog, there are three recovery settings:
First Failure, Second failure and Subsequent failures. The default settings for these options is to "Restart the Service". I changed my domain password this morning, restared the PC and could not log in because the Visual Studio Test Controller
service tried to restart with the wrong credentials in an infinite loop. This resulted in my account with the domain controller getting locked out. The delay between service restarts was very quick and I could not login and stop the service. The kind admin
fellow logged in  to the PC and changed the service settings.
Is there a place where the recovery service restart interval can be changed to prevent this situation?

    Hi bcautest1,
    >>I changed my domain password this morning, restared the PC and could not log in because the Visual Studio Test Controller service tried to restart with the wrong credentials in an infinite loop. This resulted in my account with the domain controller
    getting locked out.
You said that you couldn't log in, do you mean that you couldn't log in your machine or others?
If you change the domain password, generally we could open the Test Controller configuration and change the logon account for this service.
But if you mean that you couldn't log in your windows now, I'm afraid that it is not the test controller and Agent issue, it would be the windows issue, because it still has this issue even if you use other servers.
