Locking in LIS planning

Hi all,
we are using flexible planning in R/3. Although in customzing the switch 'key-figure restricted db update: off' is not active, and certain key-figures are set to display only in the planningtype, these display-keyfigures are listed in the lock entry list (transaction SM12) and thus cause locking problems.
Does anyone know how to solve this locking problem?

Hi,
Even if your planning type has display only keyfigures, these can be updated by executing a macro.
The meaning of display only, is the user cannot edit manually, But however you can change the value of the keyfigures by executing a macro.
Hence the standard system would lock the key-figures even if its in displaymode.
If you don't want the key figures to be locked, remove them from the planning type.

While the user opens the Planning Layout and plans the data, we can see lock entry in RSPLSE(locks tab) for the Column A selection in the infoprovider, yet if another user is trying to plan for data for some other selection of Column A, a lock entry in RSPLSE is shown with the selection but it errors in thelayout with lock on the infoprovider and cannot plan the data.

Found the answer.
We had used the Planning Function directly in the WAD layout before saving data without filter.(basically to check some condition).
Created the Planning Sequence with Column A filter on the Aggregation level and used the same sequence before saving the data in WAD
Issue resolved.

Is it possible to lock the BPS planning obj in QA or PRD system?

Is it possible to lock the BPS planning obj in QA or PRD system? We chnage the client setting in SCC4 with no change allowed. But, user can still change or create planning objects in the BPS0. Is any way to lock that?

Jeff,
You would have to develop specialized role / profile that controls the different planning objects: i.e. transactions, Planning area, planning level, planning functions, etc.
We had used a whitepaper or OSS notes in addition to looking at the profile/role for SEM_ALL to start locking down on things... Might post more when I find my notes.

Generating a forecast in LIS Planning

Hi,
LIS Planning issue - really stuck and would appreciate any help.
Created new infostructure to hold forecast and demand plan, with new planning type against it.
Copied sales history into sales order qty key figure.
Used macro to copy this data over to Sales Forecast key figure.
Created Activity "prognose" to generate future forecast in Sales Forecast key figure.
Problem - no forecast is being generated - SAP states (when I run the forecast interactively) that there is no historical data available - yet if I SE16 the infostructure I can see the data in the past.
Can't see where SAP is told to look for the historical data - made assumption that it uses the field it is forecasting, but this makes little sense as an ex-post forecast will generally use sales as it's basis, and forecast in a different key figure.
Am I missing something fundamental? Are there any LIS planning experts out there who can help a desperate man?

Is this in Flexible Planning. Did you do a OLI7 to set up the info. structure? Execute with &("n" redetermine update groups, update documents, terminate 24 hrs. from start and give 99999 as faulty documents. When done then copy that version to 000 and then to any other version you want to create. if you did all of that already make sure your forecast profile goes back the correct number of weeks that you need. Did you set up a key figure in the planning type with an update rule to pick up actual sales and previous year sales?

Object moving locked in marketing plan

Hello,
We have created a marketing plan with a specific nomenclature.Then we have released it so that the budget can be transfered to BW and then to R/3.
But it shows the status as Object moving locked where as it should be with status approved and released.
Will there be any problem in future if the marketing plan is of staus object moving locked.

Unlocked iphone locked to data plan? really?

I bought an unlocked iphone from the UK apple online store and had used 2 different sim cards on it with no issues,
After arriving to T&T Ive been told that my phone is locked to data services, meaning I can't connect a data plan to my phone because is locked for it at the other hand is it inlucked for voice and call plans. really?
has anyone had this before?

Sounds like whoever you talked to at AT&T is an idiot and/or just wants to push you into buying a new phone so they can get a hefty commission.

Lock one specific plan version

Hi Gurus,
The requirement is to lock a particular version (Cost plan version in PS) when one version is copied into another (For eg. Version A is copied into Version B, system should not allow to edit Version A). I tried to achieve this through User status but it locks all the versions. Is there any way I can do this ?

Release of Locks for SEM Planning Layouts in EP

Hi,
We are using SEM Web Layouts and they are being displayed through the SAP Enterprise Portal.
To avoid messages when navigating between layouts, we have set the Independant Application Flag to False in the Web Layout Customising, however this is currently resulting in the locks not being release when you navigate away from the BSP within the portal.
How can we get the portal to release the lock when navigating away from layouts.

You can only UPDATE after the LOCK is being released, to check if it LOCKED use SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE ..... FOR UPDATE NO WAIT
IF locked you will get the following mesg.
ERROR at line 1:ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified

Locking problem in Planning on Web

Hi,
we have set the parameters of BPS_lock, Save_unlock.
Iam getting problem when iam working with web template .
When iam trying to plan with different user on same template iam getting message that planning layout is not available.
My Problem is how to give access for planning on same template to multiple persons at same time.
Could any one assist on this as this is an urgent issue.

Hi,
yes, you can for example use 0USERNAME. Basically, if you use username in your level/package, and assign its value to active user, you have create 2 different combinations.
Insert Char username in your cube. Insert char username in your level, and restric it with BPS Var type exit which will be filled with active user.
Planned data will be saved in Cube with user char. For reporting, you can create another level without char username, and will get aggregate value of all users' planned data.

Locking one specifc plan version

But the problem is for the same fiscal year, they create multiple versions. Still I would try what you had suggested and revert back.

Are you locked into a plan (or network) with IPad Air cellular?

I just wanted to know if you can choose not to have any cellular provider until you are in need of it.
Also can you put a foreign sim card in it and use the local phone network to use your cellular??

A wifi-only iPad doesn't have a sim-card slot, only the cellular models do. If they are available in your country then you could get a mifi device and use the sim-card in that and use that as a mobile hotspot for your iPad

Plan Secondary Costs
System not allowing KP06 , but still allows me to do Activity Planning ( KP26). Why?

If you select this indicator in Cost Center Master data, you cannot plan any secondary/primary costs on the affected cost center from this time.
The indicator normally locks the cost center only against debits with secondary costs in the plan. However, you can still credit the cost center in the plan.
In T-code-KP06-Cost Center Activity Input planning, we are debiting the cost center .
Through T-code-KP26- Cost Center/Activity Output Planning, we are CREDITING the cost center. So this indicators will not affect the planning function of T-code-KP26.

Locking Planning book

Hi,
Has anyone worked on code for locking planning book? I already have a code but it fails at one scenario to lock the planning book. There are FM to lock the planning book, which behave exactly as I want in that scenario, but when I use them in my program even they fail to lock the planning book in that scenario.

@Moderator - I had opened a similar thread before but it was locked by moderator (Thomas Zloch) with comment to do my own research. I have already done much research about this and have found my problem to be still existing in all the codes/solutions. I have already posted in SAP APO section regarding the specific problem and haven't got any solution from there too. Hence decided to check in ABAP section if any abapper had worked on the same.

I was testing Bapis that you mentioned and I think it's a radical solution because I would be blocking users, I just want to lock a planning book (users can keep logged in the system)
Transaction /n/sapapo/sdpplbk does not guarantee that user can access to planning book (if he/she is smart )
any suggestion?

Hi Cesar/Rasec,
If I understand correctly you want users not to change any data while some background job is being run. One way to handle this would be to lock and unlock the concerned planning area. This will prevent any users from making changes to the data in the planning area which should also mean your background job will not fail due to locks on data selection by users.
For this you can develop customization to do locking and unlocking of the planning area. The function module ENQUEUE_/SAPAPO/E_PAREA can be used to lock planning area while DEQUEUE_/SAPAPO/E_PAREA to unlock the planning area.
Hope this gives you some direction.
