Locking Radio (Stream) Name & Genre?

Is there any way to lock the Name and Genre for a streaming radio station?
It's driving me nuts, because every time I play the stream it overwrites my Name & genre settings.
This is especially bad when Live365 changes to "Error"... then I have no idea which one just died thus can't figure out which playlists to remove it from.
Ideally there would be a little "padlock" next to the name and genre fields in Get Info.
Is there any command-line or Finder way of locking a particular stream?

I am using Forms 6i release 2 and use the following code (as advised in help):
set_radio_button_property('item','radio',PROMPT,'text')

Meta data (song information) not updating in mini player for radio stream

I notice in the mini player view, the meta data does not update for radio streams. This is a big deal for me because I listen to radio stations all the time, and I don't want to have to switch between the mini player and full player to see the song information. This wasn't an issue in iTunes 10 (and previous versions as I recall), where I could just click to toggle between the name of the station and the meta information.

I understand your concerns, but regarding the headphone jack, this is standard procedure. While you may have checked these things, and know more about the player, a lot of people will not check the basic things before contacting support. The Advisors have to check these things with you first to make sure they've been checked.
As far as transferring data goes, it is true that unfortunately we cannot transfer data over for you or make a back-up. Doing this for all the returns for different players would require a lot of resources, time and money, making the RMA process a lot longer for everyone. In some cases, it's even necessary to replace the harddri've or the whole player.

Depends on which one you are referring to. You have iTunes radio that will shuffle the songs for based on an artist or genre. Then there is Internet Radio and that will have a bunch of categories for listening to different genres.

Lost "American" iTunes radio stream folder

I somehow erased or deleated the "American" radio stream file from my iTunes. I would like to get it back. I miss some of the stations or streams and can't find them in any of the other folder.
How can I get that folder/stream reinstalled without the risk of losing or damaging all my any other iTune library? How did I lose it (delete it) in the first place?

If you're referring to a genre or station in the Tuner section of iTunes, you didn't "lose" it, per se. Those listings come from a server somewhere (only Apple knows where), and from time to time listings are altered, added or removed and there's no way for a user to put them back. If the station is still netcasting, you should be able to do a web search for them, find their stream, and either add it back to iTunes (it'll just appear in the library and you can drag it to a playlist for easy access), or use whatever player the station now supports (some stations get removed from the iTunes Tuner because they no longer cast in an iTunes-compatible format, as is the case with Air America, if that's who you mean).

ITunes Classical Radio stream

The Classical Radio stream in iTunes is stuck on "refreshing" for, like, hours, on both my iMac and my MacBook. Tried quitting and reloading the application, restarted both computers. Didn't help. Any ideas?

There were a lot of issues about this about two weeks ago but then it died down. It happened to some people part of the time, some people for all the time, not at all to others. Some genres for some, others for others, etc. Different versions of iTunes and systems. There's some things that seemed to help some people, though I suspect it was just coincidental or it solved a similar but unrelated issue.
It's not clear what the issue is, or where it lies. If it's something to do with Apple's servers they are not likely to discuss it. There was an issue like this a few months ago with the weather widgets and people kept on posting with no news until one day it suddenly started working, again with no news. If you wish to, you can report to Apple.

I am running Lion (10.7.1) on an early-2011 MacBookPro with iTunes 10.3.1 and I am frustrated, because it will cut the stream at least once per hour (it's totally random), while my older MacBook, running Tiger with iTunes 9.2.1 doesn't have any such problems ... Maybe you should upgrade iTunes to the current version - 10.5.3 - and upgrade Lion to 10.7.3.

Invalid FMS Stream Name

Using FMLE 3.2 to stream live, whenever I attempt to add a second bitrate, I get a message "Invalid FMS Stream Name". I have tried numerous variations:
-myFLVFile_%v_%f.f4v
-file%i.f4v
Tried changing the format/extension (VP6 .flv) but still not working. I've already read http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaLiveEncoder/3.2/Using/WS86632046-87C8-4d50-AD74-E1A0 8AC67FEE.html.
What am I doing wrong?

I discovered the problem - the parameters need to be entered in both the "Stream" and "Save to file" fields (I was only entering the params for "file").
The error messages for the two fields are slightly different. If you don't provide params in "Save to file", the error is "Invalid Output file name". If you don't provide params in "Stream", the error is "Invalid FMS stream name".
Coming from Windows Media, I has assumed that the stream name would remain the same for all, but I've discovered that I need to jump through some extra hoops to deliver multi-bitrate, so I doubt I will bother.
