Locking the view in mail?

For an elderly person that clicks and moves things inadvertantly, is there a way to lock the mail view?

Use the Fonts menu. Either -
    • go to the Format menu and select Show Fonts
    • or, in the Note creation window, click the icon for Fonts -
In either case, once the Fonts window is open, select the text you want to change then choose the font characteristics (face, style, and size) from the Fonts screen.

  • How do I change the view in mail?

I just upgraded to Lion and not sure how to change the view in mail. I've read that the default setting is to have the view window to the right of the email list, but all that I have is a list or the classic view. How do I get back to the default setting?

  • How to change the view of Mail to be similar as Outlook?

In the past, I get used to view my email content on right hand side and the email list in the left hand side. In such way, it can allow me to scan the email content line by line effectively.
Now I can only see Mail arranging the email list at the top and email content at the bottom. Is there any special way to rearrange the outlook of Mail?

there was a 3rd party plugin to make this possible in leopard Mail called Letterbox
    http://harnly.net/software/letterbox/
but I don't think it has been updated for snow leopard yet.

  • How can I change the view of mails list

In the list of received messages has only one way of displaying information - detail.
With this method of displaying the message list displays all the information in one line, and is divided into columns.
This is useful when very wide monitor.
In my case the laptop screen is not very large and much of the information is hidden (requires horizontal scrolling list).
Windows Explorer, can display list of files in the view "Content", when the information about the file appears on multiple lines. This method allows to save space horizontally.
Is there a way to customize the display list in Thonderbird like that?

See the View > Layout menu.
If it does not look right, please restart Thunderbird after choosing a different option.

  • Light Table question - Lock this Browser to the Viewer?

What does the button that says "Lock this Browser to the Viewer" do?

You can open multiple Albums or Projects at once using Shift-click or Alt-click. If you do this without locking the Viewer pane to a particular Browser pane then the Viewer will automatically swap to whichever tabbed Project or Album you select.

    Hello
    >I have to think (pure speculation) that this is also related to the recent update as there was a previous problem with the update causing datasources to not verify with an authentification issue as well.
Agree since View Undelivered Mail works for me on a CF9.0.1 system and also CF9.0.1 with CHF1. I think one of the patches contained in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/907/cpsid_90784.html is the cause as View Undelivered Mail fails for me on hf901-00002.jar updated server.
Pending what other forum posters say suggest log issue on http://cfbugs.adobe.com/
    >I like CF alot ...but the update and patch process has always sucked.
Ditto. I hear patching is going to improve in CF X / 10 / Zeus.

  • Mail won't display the viewer window, and it will not close (force quit does not show in menu bar).  Can't shut down to reboot because the open mail program prevents it.   Any advice?

Mail does not show the viewer window even when new viewer window is cliced.  I tried to close mail and reopen, but it will not close, and force quit option does not appear in window bar.   I tried to shut down the computer and reboot, but it cannot close because of open mail program it says.    Help!

Many thanks.  Once I was able to close mail, it reopened and behaved quite normally.  Thank you.  I'll remember the option quit for force quite!

I am referring to outgoing new messages that I am typing.

Can you drag the bottom right corner? You can in Snow Leopard, and I imagine you can in Lion.

  • How do I lock PDF before e-mailing so that it cannot be altered by the recipient?

I've created a form in LiveCycle which will be seen and filled by users who only have Reader.
Once the form is completed, the user has to click three buttons: one prints the page (for a specific paper-based usage required by the filler of the form). The same button  sends the entire form to one e-mail address.
The second button prepares the form for submission to a second e-mail recipient. This recipient must not be able to see some of the filled fields on the form. As well as setting these fields to invisible, the second button also hides key fields behind a text message, telling the second recipient where to find the information that is most useful to them on the form. Again, this recipient will be using only Acrobat Reader.
Everything works fine, apart from when it comes to e-mailing the form to the second recipient. I've used various scripts I've found on this forum and elsewhere to lock fields before sending and I've extended Reader rights in Acrobat. But, whatever I do, the form received by the recipients is STILL editable, the "invisible" fields are visible again and also editable,  and the test box that obscured key fields has become invisible again.
I've already tried using a range of scripts that I've found both on this forum and elsewhere (including Paul Guerrett's 'Lock All Fields' and 'Lock All Fields Not Buttons' scripts. I've also tried using the scripts in different 'events' - mouse up, mouse down, click etc.
What am I doing wrong? I've spent days trying to figure this out and I'm getting nowhere.
I am  a JavaScript novice, by the way. So please keep it simple and (better still) provide working script! Thanks to anyone who can help

    Hi Steve,
I can see 2 possible options for you to investigate,
    1) Submit the form to a LiveCycle process and let LiveCycle Output turn the PDF into a PDFA and then email the second recipient.
if you don't have a LiveCycle Output server
    2) Remove the second submit button and add a signature field which can lock the entire PDF.. once signed the PDF can be email directly from Reader/Acrobat using the File>Attach To Email
One thing to remember is that anything that can achieved through script can also be undone through script written into the javascript console, so if you a working with sensitive data you should use one of the options above.

  • Can I lock the code view?

Apologies in advance if this has been covered, but I haven't been able to find the answer to this...
When working with a split view (usually live), every time I make an amendment and update the live view, my cursor position or code view jumps to the end of my document.  Is there anyway to lock the code position or cursor so that when I click on my live view, the cursor doesn't automatically go to the appropriate code and stays where I was editing?

  • How do I close the right side message view in mail

how do I close the right side message view in mail

    Here's how I do that in Yosemite (OS X 10.10) -
Open Mail. Open Mail's Preferences (in the Mail menu in the main menubar). On Mail's Preferences, go to the Viewing tab.
Click (checkmark) the item "Use classic layout". That should change the layout of the window to the old-style over-under arrangement for the mail list and display panes. Then drag the dot in the center divider (the horizontal bar that separates the message list pane from the message display pane) all the way to the bottom of the window so that the bottom pane is closed.
Uncheck the item "Use classic layout". That should result in the 'new' style layout but with only two panes showing - the mailboxes list (if set to show) and the list of messages. The display message window should not be open at this point. If you wish to re-open it, look for a small dot in the right-hand margin of the window, and drag that dot a bit to the left.

  • EVHOT -- Locking the current view

    Hello experts,
We have a situation where we are using EVHOT to open a detail input schedule from a summary input schedule. The detail schedule captures and submits data, using a selection criteria from a summary level input schedule, we don't have any problem if the users uses in the order i mean open detail input schedule by clicking on a link in the summary input schedule and do the data submission,
But the user wants to open another report and changing the current view before actually submitting the data using a detail input schedule, during this time the detail input schedule is using the current view other than from summary input schedle and causing data submission for another intersection, which we don't want to happen.
how do we lock the current view of a input schedule, which is opened using a EVHOT function.and also these two input schedules are in one application only
I tried to enable the 'workbook option 'Saving the session CV with the workbook', but it didn't help.
Any thoughts on this please let me know
    Thanks

    Hi Prabha,
Can you maybe reference the page key range of input schedule 1 in your evhot input schedule, instead of using current view?
    Regards,
    Sabine

  • Is it possible to lock a PDF so the view cannot be changed? (its rotation clockwise, or counter-clockwise)

Hey Guys, I'm in a little bit of pickle, just wanted to make sure i wasn't doing anything wrong for the boss man. Can the view for a document be locked?

No. The view can always be changed by the user (but not the document itself
if you apply a security policy that forbids that).
