Locking up issues since updating to version 10.2.0.429

I updated to version 10.2.0.429 on Sunday night. On Monday the phone started to lock up about 3 times a day and it has happened every day since. When it locks up the screen goes black and the red light flashes 4 times in a row and then pauses for a few seconds before repeating the cycle. There has even been times it automatically reboots on its own.
I have pulled the battery numerous times. When it has froze, I have tried holding in the upper and lower volume keys for about 20 seconds to reboot. It does reboot but will continue to freeze shortly after. I have also noticed since this started the battery does not last long. I have never had a low battery before and I use it alot daily.

The problem of battery low is due to continuous use of processor, As it is almost in running condition so don't worry about it,
The thing to worry is why it is hangs(or something like that) The Possible reasons are
1. May be it is not properly updated.
2. Your device got any problem so it is not supporting the latest version as other devices of same model does.
Suggested Solutions Are:
Switch off properly and restart.
Update again.

• Since updating to version of 11.12 of itunes syncing hangs in final stage of sync (finishing sync)

Since updating to version 11.12 of itunes. When I sync it goes through stages of sync but at the final 'Finishing Sync' the message just hangs

I had this problem as well and I heard a solution, tried it and it worked for me. The issue is that there are apps running in the background when the sync was initiated. So I unplugged the iPhone from iTunes and closed down any running apps (double-click the home menu button and sweep up each running app until you just see your home page). Then reconnect the iPhone to iTunes and the sync completed as expected.

• Issues since update to yosemite

Hello everyone,
I've been having all sorts of issues since updating to yosemite which I am struggling to fix on my macbook.
I've had the mac since 2010/11 and the first thing I noticed after updating to Yosemite was the fan constantly running from the moment I boot the machine and that the icons on my desktop were extremely slow to load up as are any files in the documents folder and finder.
Then watching videos on youtube etc were refusing to play fully. I have since updated to the latest flash player but it is still slow.
I ran the activity monitor and a kernel task file is operating at around 120% all the time.
I have read numerous posts on the internet to try to fix and have upgraded to the latest yosemite, reset the printers and many other things.
Now the trackpad is no longer working and not recognised and now the final straw for me is the keyboard refusing to be recognised at startup. I am currently using a wired mouse and bluetooth keyboard to get around these problems and everything is working fine with these but is a real pain.
Has anyone had any similar problems to the above and know how to sort as this is taking up way too much of my time.
Thanks

What is the exact, complete text of the error message you get?

• To all experiencing burn issues since updating to last version of iTunes

To all that have been experiencing difficulties burning music since updating to iTunes6:
After reviewing this discussion board it seems obvious to me -I am not a technician but nonetheless- that the problems that we are experiencing are due to some kind of incompatibility between our PCs and Apple.
While some here have been very helpful in trying to resolve these issues, I find it disgusting that Apple does nothing. Itunes customer support do nothing. We are left to fend for ourselves, frustrated by the amount of money we have invested in building up our music collections in order fot them to be held hostage because Apple and/or iTunes will not address the issue.
Did anybody bother reading the software license upon updateing to the earliest version? Is it too early to talk of "class action" suits?
It seems logical to me that we will be heard better by Apple if we speak as a collective and not individuals. Maybe that way we could put more pressure on them to either fix what needs to be fixed or refund the money we have invested in iTunes.
As for me, iTunes has already lost me as a client. I won't download any more music because there is nothing I can do with it. That doesn't seem to matter to them. I suppose this is what happens when you get too big for your own britches!
Any ideas on how we can take down the bully????

Lost data from iTunes on upgrade? See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
Restored an older backup to the device? If you're lucky your most recent photos may be in your Photo Steam.
Otherwise you may need to paint a fuller picture of the problem...

• Some albums are showing different covers since updating to version 7.0.3

I just recently downloaded the new version and since then several albums are showing a different album cover. How can I get this to be correct again.

Yes. I seem to have fixed it, but not really. I erased all music from phone, and then manually managed a resynced eveything I wanted back on there. Interstingly, it didn't work the first two time and said (waiting to make changes) so I was freaking out. But the third time was the ticket and now we are good. Unfortunately, there is a bug, and until there is a real fix, my music that I have in itunes on my computer is not easy to get to the phone. It seems that many people have had the exact same issue since the updates. Hopefully it will fix itself in the next update. Thanks for help though.

• Lock button issue after update

So I updated my iPhone 5 to the 7.0.2 update this past Sunday and now my lock botton is not responding when I press it. I have to hit it a few times to get it to respond now.
It is NOT a hardware issue since I did not have that issue since ownership. It only started with this issue after I did the update to the 7.0.2 software. 7.0 it was completely fine. (It was an OTA update from 7.0 to 7.0.2)
I have not done the, "erase settings and reset" yet so everything can be reinstalled. But I am wondering if anyone has come across this issue and found a solution without doing the factory reset.

Just quickly pointing out that you said "It is NOT a hardware issue", yet, you post this under "iPhone Hardware". Nice!
Check for any and all debrie that could cause such a thing to happen. Other than that, best bet is to backup via iTunes AND iCloud, then do a full restore via iTunes.
Good luck!

• Late 2013 MBP w/Retina Battery Charging Issue since update to 10.10.2

I don't know if this is due to the update to OS X 10.10.2, or if it's just coincidence, but ever since updating, my battery has had issues charging.
When I plug into an outlet, the indicator in the menubar shows that it's plugged in, light on the power cord doesn't light up (not amber, not green, nothing) and the percentage estimate for power remaining doesn't increase at all, no matter how long I'm plugged in for.
I thought it maybe had to do with more things being plugged into the powerstrip, so I tried plugging into an directly into a wall outlet, but that was no use.
The only way to get the battery to start charging again is to restart AND zap the PRAM; clearly this isn't optimal...
Is any one experiencing this type of issue as well? Any hints or ideas as to how to fix it?
Thank you!

• Apple configurater won't restore backup since updating to version 1.2

Since updating Apple Configurator to version 1.2, I am unable to restore from a backup. I have supervised iPad 2s. Set one up the way we want and backup. Connect another supervised iPad 2 and try to restore. Fails everytime. If I restore from a backup pulled when I had the old version, everything works fine. It seems as if the backup is corrupt or something. I emailed support but the person who answered the email must work in the middle of the night. One question a day. At this rate, they will help in about a month.

- Try moving the existing backup to a safe location and then try again. The backup is here:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

• Since updating to version 4.0, Firefox does not automatically complete saved passwords

Before updating to version 4.0, whenever I clicked the cursor into the username boxes, the username would automatically be there. Once I clicked on it, then the password would automatically fill in. Since the update, this does not happen anymore. So, I'm having to write usernames & passwords down somewhere and type them in myself. Has this automatic feature been defeated in version 4.0? I still have a list of saved passwords, but it's not calling them up automatically like before.

Do you still see all the names and passwords in the Firefox Password Manager ?
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
You can check that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode.
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
* Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I assume it was working fine before the upgrade? Did you double-check the settings?

• Email and Photo issue since update

Ever since the 2.2 firmware update the images I email from my 3g iphone are displaying very low res on my wife's phone and vice versa. She emailed me some photos that looked fine before the update and now they are all pixelated. Has anyone else had this issue since the update?

This is a known bug and the subject of a big thread here:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1802430&tstart=45
There is not much you can do about it other than hope for an upgraded firmware release.
The photos are stored on the phone in the proper resolution, and you can copy them to your computer and they look fine.

• Since updating to Version 26 I am getting a Sidebar opening on certain sites.. I dont want this and cant get rid of it.. seems to be twitter based.. maybe Tt?

This starts when I load certain pages.. with a sidebar to the left and then goes on to open more tabs at the bottom.. seems to be similar links to sites I am on.. Yahoo eurosport does it as well as a cricket club i belong to...I have been through add-ons and plug ins to see if its there and it doesnt seem to be.. done this very soon after updating to version 26 of firefox and even sometimes puts up a genuine looking 'Update your firefox' box.. which isnt.. i restored my system back and then deleted firefix and realoaded but the problem is persisting.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

• Since updating to version 26, the 'serach toolbar' no longer works, even if i change between various search engines google/yahoo, etc), can anyone please help?

upon first opening firefox, the search bar works fine for one search only , then does nothing for any subsequent searches ... this was working fine before the recent update to version 26..
even if i go to the google search page web site (www.google.com) and type in a search on the web page, when i click 'search' or hit 'enter', nothing happens at all ...
any suggestions welcome ...
i have tried reinstalling version 26 , but the same problem occurs.
im running on windows xp

Hi jonniecee, I'll take a guess here. Some of the cache files may have disk space preallocated for them even if internally they are basically empty. This is a way that programs can write to disk faster, by avoiding having asking Windows to allocate more space in small increments.
After a reset, Firefox stores your old settings file on your desktop, in a folder named Old Firefox Data. I suggest keeping that around for a few weeks in case you notice something vital is missing.

• Ever since updating to version 10, Firefox no longer inserts saved passwords. How can I fix this?

Password Manager remembers my passwords, but won't insert them at log in time. This began after updating to version 10. It will ask to save new passwords, but won't insert the old ones.

Did you try Safe mode to see if an extension is causing the problems?
You can also try to reset all preferences on the Safe mode start window or try to new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
See:
