LockScreen Flat White Text to hard to read?

It seems more difficult to read the locked screen Time & Date now that it's flat white font, and I was wondering if anyone else has this issue? To explain: When I choose a Lockscreen Wallpaper out of my own camera roll with a white or light background, the Flat White Text blends in and its hard to make out what it says. Rather... if I choose a white or light Stock Wallpaper from Apple's new provided selection within Wallpaper Settings, it is intuitively defaulting the Time & Date to BLACK text, in order to see it better. Why doesn't it do this text-color-change with my photos??? I wish it would change text colors for ALL images, not just the stock ones. Does anyone know how to do this, or is it just yet another ios7 bug, or maybe just my phone?

I've got the same feel about this.
Since iTunes makes good solutions on this whth auto detect album art background color, and automatically chnage font color for high contrast~
Hope iOS7 can phase this feature on lock screen.
Or even make this preference able to changed by user.

  • Upscaled images look blurry, is there a way to sharpen them? In particular, zooming on pages with images that actually contain only text are hard to read.

I am zooming in on my homework in mastering physics. I am using a large screen and sitting far away. It uses a lot of images containing the text I need to read, but when the images are upscaled, they become very blurry and hard to read. A simple sharpen effect after it is resized would fix the problem. Is there a way to do this in firefox? like a command line switch or maybe something in about:config? Thanks

It may sound counter-intuitive, but could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved?

  • Text is hard to read in PDFs

I can't figure out why my indesign files are difficult to read as PDF's... I really could use a lesson on typography. I know there are vector fonts... I am using Arial. Is this the problem? It looks blurry. Could it be that my text is white, and background is dark (almost black)?
Helvetica seems to be popular, but I want to make sure I troubleshoot this properly before I go ahead and change the text of a 30+ page document Any ideas?

As a side note to this discussion, if you make it a firm practice to use Paragraph Styles and Character Styles for all of your text formatting, it would not matter if it was a 200+ page book, the formatting changes could be done in moments by adjusting the styles. (of course, you would still have to check for awkward reflow or overset).

  • White text in table of contents thumbnail

OK this has really got me stumped so I hope someone can help.
I have written the first chapter of my new book. All the font, including section headings, is black.
When I preview the book (on both iPad and my macbook) the thumbnail view of the table of contents has changed the text colour to white. So the text is now white on a white background and hard to read.
I am using the latest version of ibooks 1.01 and ibooks author 2.2.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions. This has not happened in any of my other books.
    Many Thanks
    Paul

    Mike,
I also include overset text in my TOC that is actually off of the viewable spread. At first, it didn't work (even though I asked it to include the text). Then, I moved the field to be a few px within the viewable spread but left the text still off of the edge and it worked.
I am doing this through Javascript with CS3.
You may be having an entirely different problem... but I hope this helps :)

  • Firefox chrome in washed-out colors, hard to read

    Hi,
To see anything but bright washed-out colors and text, I had to change to a dark theme! (NASA Night Launch) But this is as good as it gets, bleached pink (should be black), text still hard to read.
    - Web page ok, it's just the chrome (tabstip, address bar and other toolbars) that is messed up.
    - Only present on one of my computers (with FF32.0.1).
    - On this computer (laptop), the problem is present on two recently added external displays. (not the built-in, not previously added displays)
    - Only Firefox affected, no other programs running on my Win8.1update is affected. (other browsers show regular colors/text in tabstrips, toolbars, menus etc.
    - Problem gone while in Firefox Safe Mode.
    - Problem remains even if I disable every single add-on, and set "ask to activate" on every plugin.
    Any ideas?
Hope to be able to stick to Firefox in the future :)

The finder window for an external USB hard disk suddenly started separating files by time (today, yesterday, etc.) and stopped allowing me to change column width, order, etc. Also the header bar shifted to flat white from gray.
All was normal until the icon for the disk stopped showing up on the desktop when I would plug it in. I rebooted the computer, and the disk icon now shows up but this new look to the finder window started as a result. The hard disk does not have this problem when I use it on another Mac running Snow leopard. Also, two other external hard disks that I use on this computer running lion 7.4 still have the normal header bars with columns that can be reordered, etc.
I have tried looking in preferences and other places but have not seen this discussed.

Well duh - I finally figured out that somehow in the View options for the hard drive, the "arrange by" option had been changed to "by date" from "none". Not sure how that happened, I had never used the "view options" menu tem before. Changing "arrange by" back to "none" gets the gray column headers and the collapsible folder icons back.

  • Adobe Help CS5: Text In Search Field Hard To Read

I'm using Local Help. In the Search field, letters are way too close and very hard to read. There seems to be no anti-aliasing either. Is it possible that some font be missing in either my Photoshop Installation or in my System (OX 10.6.3)?
    Thanks for any help.

Hi Roger:  I apologize for the poor text rendering.  We are updating the app with a fix -- this should be resolved when the engineering team migrates the app to Flex 4/AIR 2 (coming soon!).
    Hello Mark!
If I may, the fact that people like you take the time to answer questions like this does more for Adobe's reputation than anything else. Thank you. I will be waiting for this fix. After all this new Help app is way better than what we had before, as it allows us to use either Local help (way faster and practical) or the web (more complete, when we're stuck). So this is a step forward, I just found strange that Adobe had this problem in that field. I imagine that this bug sneaked by unnoticed...
So thank you once again. If I had a suggestion, it would be to make the process of finding and downloading Local help a bit easier and more transparent.

  • ITunes text hard to read

Help! In iTunes, the body text is really hard to read. Changing Edit > Preferences > Source Text and List Text only changes the left column (which was already legible). It's the rest of the page - everything from artists/titles to the Quick Links and Top Charts which is in an incorrect font. How can I change this?
    Thanks!

The COLOR UI is fixed in resolution/font, etc. Its almost liveable at 17", but Apple recommends a Cinema Display. COLOR has a minimum screen resolution as one of its boot parameters, and this is (one of the reasons) why.

In particular all photos or any slide show since the beginning of time have always had a black background. Not white. At the very least, the viewing of pictures should have a black back ground. I hope maybe you can introduce some gadgets or an upgrade that lets us choose something other than the bright white background. The accessibility option to inverse the video is awful. All your pics are negatives. I would hope you are hearing many similar comments and I look forward to an upgrade soon that gives us options to change that bright white.  If I could I would set my iPhone back to IOS6.
The new IOS also kills your battery no matter it seems how many location services and other apps you disable.

For some people. I find it easier to read.

  • Can you change size of fonts in premiere pro user interface -- the text is often so small it is hard to read

The text is often so small it is hard to read.  It would be nice if as in the Blender animation program you can easily increase the size of fonts used in the program's user interface, through the "preferences" menu item.

    Hi Ewporter,
Sorry, sounds like an excellent feature request, though. Make it here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request

  • Color screens text hard to read.

I have Color 1.5 had the text labels on all the screens are hard to read. This is true on the external monitor and also my Macbook Pro labtop screen??

  • Icons and toolbar text is way too small and hard to read (kind of fuzzy)

The toolbars (menu bars) at the top of the screen have letters and icons and symbols that are way too small to read. Also the background color options are limited. Light black on grey is hard to read. I have tried customizing all that I can. There used to be a thing in control panel called display, and we could pick all sorts of fonts and colors for all those toolbar strips. Where did that go? I am VERY FRUSTRATED!!

I've tried those, and have just decided to go back to 3.6. Firefox just seems to have too much input lately trying to tweak and adjust. Meanwhile, the later versions just end up looking worse and worse with each iteration. Icons too small, monochromatic tool bar, making icons harder to distinguish, and, worst of all, frequent crashes.
Perhaps some of these problems are because I'm using XP, but I've noticed many if not all of the appearance deficiencies with my laptop running Win7. Probably the most annoying thing about later versions, though, is the inability to set memory time for history. This alone is a deal breaker for me, and ultimately, as IE has gotten better, I may just go back there.

  • Mac air won't startup completely (black /white text, info keeps popping up and then it restarts over and over)

Hi so I had to force shut down my Mac air because it froze, when I turn it on it first tells me that I had force shut down so press a key to start up, then it goes to the apple screen, then black strips with white text pop up, then it restarts again. So I looked up what to try to do and I did the "command/r" and it comes up with options, but I don't believe that I set up my time machine backup or something because nothing comes up after it "searches" for a back up thing. and it won't reinstall OS X because it can't find the installation information. And the disk utility doesn't work because it says that I need to "back up as many of [my] files as possible , reformat the disk, and restore [my] back up files" .
I'm not sure what to do but I have a lot of school things I need on it.  So I hope there is some possible way to not erase any of the info on my internal hard rice. I'm also not that good with computers.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Help us help you. The more complete the description of your problem (what MBA you're using - there are many versions going back to '08, what OS you're using -there's a lot of those too- and an iOS will not work with an MBA you must be using some versions of OS X 10.5.x - 10.9.x) the more assistance we can provide, and, the sooner we can provide it..
Sounds to me like your SSD and/or your OS is corrupt.
Boot into repair and use Disk Tools->Disk Utility-Disk First Aid: repair disk to try to fix your boot volume. While you're there also do repair permissions.
Reboot holding the Shift Key down until  you see a progress bar at the bottom of the screen and log in. BACK UP YOU IMPORTANT DATA.
Reboot normally (if you can't come back here)

I'd go with editing userContent.css to avoid this problem on other sites too.
