Lockscreen music control - Spool?

Hi,
when I use the music app I often want to spool in the the song.
While not looking onto the device, with the lockscreen music control feature it is just possible to pause/play/forward/backward the song or change the volume. But changing the speaker volume is still possible with the hardware keys.
So for me it makes no sense to change the volume by lockscreen music control, but enabling the spool feature on the lockscreen would be much more nice. Changing this in configuration would still be nice, too.
What do you think?

Thx for the replies.
By spool I meant to fast forward, to jump to minute 1:15 in a song which is played.
To change the volume by the earpiece is another example (3 choices now) to chance the volume. But fast forward in a song is not possible at all, just in the music app.
I will set an enhancement request to apple.

On my iphone4s, music control do not show up on the music screen and the screen cannot be rotated.

Couple of clarifications, the rotation lock is not set. The controls are visible for video and other apps. Only the music screen does not rotate or show the controls.

  • When I am listening to music on my iPod Touch 5th gen and it is locked I try to double click the home button to bring up the music controls, but it does not work. How can I fix this?

So, I locked my iPod while listening to music, then pressed to home button to turn it back on, then I pressed it again twice to bring up the music controls so I could pause the song. The music controls came up, but they didn't control the song I was listening to, also the album artwork wasn't showing. How can I fix this?

    Hello,
I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10sec. or until Apple logo appears (Nothing will be lost, this is just a "Hard Reset")
    Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
    Cheers!

  • Ios 5.1 issue - why have the music controls been disabled when iphone is docked?

I just updated my iphone 4s yesterday, and immediately I have a huge problem.
When I dock the phone in my car (using a Denison dock) OR connect it via bluetooth to my car stereo, all of the music controls are locked!
The Music App becomes a white screen with "device connected" written on it, and there is no way for me to play/pause/skip/browse music on the handset.
Even double-clicking the home button, the audio controls are greyed-out and don't function.
I am furious about this, why break something that was working perfectly before?   It's not for safety reasons because the iphone is happy for any other app to be used while docked.  I use my iphone in the car all the time, and it is utterly USELESS if I can't use the Music app normally.
I have tested with docks at home, and this issue seems to occur only when the connected device can also control the iphone.  I need to stress that no car controls can allow easy use of the Music app - it means you have to take the device off the dock to make any changes in what you're listening to.
PLEASE can this go back to the way it was!?

Found another post with a similar issue after upgrading to ios 5 and this worked for him, I might try this tonight and will re-post if it worked for ios 5.1:
    1)Connect phone
2)Hightlight your phone on the left side of the iTunes window
3)Click on the music tab towards the top middle of the iTunes window
    4)Uncheck "sync music"
    5) Click "Apply" down on the bottom right  At either this step or the preceding step you might get a
pop up box that says "you have made changes" or something like that, click okay or apply.
6)After this is finished, check to make sure there is no music left on your iPhone by double clicking on your
iPhone in the left hand pane of iTunes and then click on "music" under your iPhone
7)If there is no music on your iPhone, then recheck the "sync music" and then click "apply" down in the
    bottom righ.
8)If you have a lot of music it will take hours to sync, but when finished your Dock accesorries should work again.

  • Just installed ios 7 on my 4s, and I have two issues: 1) control centre: the music controls do not work, only the volume adjust slider works; 2) in mail, where do you find the setting to control how many messages you want your inbox to retain?

Same problem here on my 4s: Control center music controls do not work.
Since this thread has two issues, I'm going to start a new one with only the music control bug. Topic: iOS 7 Control Center Music Controls Not Working On iPhone 4s

  • Music controls semi-unresponsive

    hey all,
i have seen at least one thread on here about the dock icons being unresponsive but i found a new 'bug' yesterday. When the ipod is in landscape mode (say when you are on the internet) and i double tap the home button to pull up the music controls, the fwd button seems almost 'sticky'. i have to tap it 2 or 3 times, almost with a flicking motion to get it to work. i realize this is a minor nuisance at most, but as people have said before, pretty expensive device to have to put up with 'minor nuisances'. do you think something like this would be fixed with a firmware update or is this a problem with the ipod itself? i have updated to 1.1.3, with the new apps, um...itunes 7.6. any ideas? TIA

I've noticed this too. And it's really annoying when someone trys to talk to you and you try to pause the music and it takes you like 10 times just to get it paused to say something. I'd be really glad if they got this fixed.

  • Anyone else having problems with the music controls in the control center?

Ever since the iOS 7 post release update (iOS 7.0.2) I've have trouble with the music controls not working properly. Wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same issues....

  • Is double clicking home button to access music controls the best ways?

Currently user need to double click the home button to access music control, while the phone is locked.
I understand now since users r familiar with iphone controls this interaction is not bad to have but not the best interaction type.
Instead the clock area could be swappable to music controls & mayb even weather.
    cheers

You can also go to settings / music

  • Music Control Panel won't stay off on ITOUCH

The music control remains on the screen when I switch between programs. It appears when I press the home button to switch between applications and I can't get it to stop coming on.
What does it look like? It's the IPOD music control box that contains an arrow in the middle pointing to the right which pressed becomes a pause button (fast rewind and fast rewind arrows beneath) This is the box that has the large CLOSE and MUSIC buttons at the bottom.
I have tried to double click to get it off and it takes several times.

According to another post, if you press the home button twice, as opposed to a "single" time, the music buton will appear so you can control your music. Try hitting the button only once and see if the controls appear. My dilemma was the exact opposite and I wanted to know how you actually get the controls to appear, so hopefully this works for you.

what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? i understand that you don't want to see the music status come up on your lock screen, but what are you trying to do by clicking your home button at all?

  • No camera or music control on double-tap homescreeb button

    Hello all,
    i have iOS5 5.0.1 on my iPhone 3Gs
and no camera or music control on double-tap homescreeb button appears ??
    anything idea how to  ?

When you double tap the home button you get a list of recent apps and if you swipte the right you will get music controls and one more item you will get volume controls. Their is no trick with the home button for camera unless your on the lock screen and double tab the button next to the slider. Also if you upgrade your iPhone with iOS 5.1 then when on the lock screen you can just swipe up to quickly access your camera.

  • Stuck music controls in lock screen iOS 8.1.3

For some reason I have yet to analyze, my music controls display on my lock screen when there is no music or video app playing.  The controls are suck in "play" mode with the pause button visible but tapping it has no effect.  The clock and date do not display and I can only seem to rest the unit by performing a hard restart.
I am running a Verizon 64Gb iPhone 6+ and may take a wild guess that it has something to do with the YouTube app.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
