Log Analyzer in Portal SP 17

Hi,
where can I found the Log Analyzer in Portal with service stack 17? I can't find it in >> System administration >> Support >> Portal Runtime ?
Is there any configuration necessary?
Thanks for your answers.

Hi Andreas,
this is normal behaviour. The Log Viewer has been removed from the Portal since SPS16, I think. This is because of the fact that all monitoring related information shall be accessed in the NetWeaver Administrator. So for accessing the logs you have the following possibilities:
- via NetWeaver Administrator: http://yourportal:port/nwa
- via Visual Administrator: Log Viewer service
- Standalone Log Viewer
Best regards,
Thomas

  • Web cache log analyzer

    Hello to all
    I spend too many time searching for a software for oracle web cache's log analyzer without any good answer, my question is, is it really impossible to analyze the file event_log generated by oracle web cache?
    Thanks for reading this, specially if you give me an answer ;)

    Oracle provides some "Portal Performance scripts" to sql*load the logs into a schema and then get some figures with seeded views. You can adapt to what you need.

  • How to log exceptions and imp logging info in Portal Service via ILogger?

    Hi Experts,
    I m trying to use ILogger for my application.
    Information about my application:
    I have created a Portal Service and exposed it as a Web Service which is deployed as a PAR file on to the SAP J2EE Engine.
    I need to use the Logging facility of ILogger in this Portal Service.
    I have written the following code in the Init() function of the Portal Service
    public void init(IServiceContext serviceContext)
           mm_logger = serviceContext.getLogger("com.persistent.pankaj");
    I have put the logger.xml in the logger folder of PORTAL-INF
    my logger.xml is as follows:
    <Server>
    <Logger name="testLog" loggerInterface="com.sapportals.portal.prt.logger.ILogger" locationName="com.sap.portal.testLog" pattern="%d # %20t %15s %m #" isActive="true">
    <LoggerClass className="com.sapportals.portal.prt.logger.SimpleFileLogger" level="INFO">
    <param filename="logs/com.persistent.pankaj.log" append="true">
    </param>
    </LoggerClass>
    </Logger>
    </Server>
    On deploying my portal service as a web service
    I m unable to get the logs.
    I even dont know where will i get the log file, means wat is the exact location where i can check my log results
    I m a newbie for this
    Please help me out
    Help will be rewarded n appreciated
    -pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
    In your init method try this code to create the logger:
    ILogger logger = PortalRuntime.getLogger("testLog");
    In your logger.xml the logger name was testLog and not com.persistent.pankaj so while creating logger you should use testLog in the above code.
    By default all the logs are written to defaultTrace.log files, to check them read this:
    Portal Runtime Logs
    If you want to log in a seperate logfile then you should set a seperate log destination, which is not recommended on productive systems due to performance problems.
    Also read these to know how to set seperate log destinations:
    Netweaver Portal Log Configuration & Viewing (Part 3)
    Netweaver Portal Log Configuration & Viewing (Part 1)

  • How to get a List of Users Currently Logged into the portal

    Hi,
    Im trying to get the list of all users logged into the portal to do a web service, but I can't find the way to do this, is there any way to find this info thrugh a java class or some object in the RCU/schema/WCP database?
    Greetings
    Mike

    Try the analytics tables. Before you can use them, you need to setup the analytics server and configure it for your application:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_analytics.htm#BEIDBHHG
    This gives an overview for building reports: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFDGEG
    Login metrics: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFFHGD
    You can use these queries to get the info you want.

  • Error when launching BEx analyzer from Portals

    BI Gurus...
    We are working on an initiative to migrate our user interface from SAP GUI to Enterprise Portal.
    Bex Analyzer is primary mode of reporting at this time.
    After importing the Roles into EP, I am able to execute the web queries successfully, in the BEx Wen analyzer. But, I get an error when I click on any of the excel workbooks. Our expectation was that once we click on the excel workbook name, the BEx analyzer will launch from EP. But it seems like the issue is with launching BEx Analyzer from BI Portal.
    Has anyone faced this issue before?
    Is it possible to launch BEx Analyzer from EP?
    Are their some key portal settings we have missed out on to enable launching BEx analyzer from EP?
    Please provide your thoughts/experience.
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Hi WernerS,
    Thanks for your response.
    The RRMXP Transaction works and it launching the BEx Analyzer as expected.
    Now, as per our research, I think there are 2 ways of launching BEx analyzer from BI Portals.
    1) Call via a URL
    You can call BEx Analyzer via the following URL: http(s)://<server:port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/rsr_bex_launch/bexanalyzerportalwrapper.htm
    You can modify the URL to open BEx Analyzer with either a workbook, a query or a query view. You can use the following parameters to do this:
    ●      Parameter to open the workbook: ?WBID=<wb_id>
    I have tried calling via URL iView, but instead of launching the BEx Analyzer, it just throws a dialog box to "save" or "open" a file, RRMX.bex. When I try to open this file, it says "Invalid File Format".
    I tried opening the file in notepad and I see the following parameters passed.
               test
               Data=BX2,CONAJP,EN,mikoyan,17,,,250,
               9
    Any clue about what I am doing wrong?
    2) Calling via a Transaction
    You can generate BEx Analyzer in Portal Content Studio as an SAP Transaction iView.
    The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.app integrator.sap.Transaction.
    The most important properties are System, Transaction Code (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
    ●      The Transaction Code for all workbooks is RRMXP.
    ●      The ApplicationParameter property contains the value WBID=<WORKBOOK_ID>.
    I have tried this approach as well. When I open this iView, I see the RRMXP transaction in the Internet explorer, but the workbooks still does not open in the BEx Analyzer (Excel)
    Any thoughts on where am I going wrong ?
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Yes, some of the older Macs take a little investigation and tweaks like you say, to find the right software to get it working.
    Thanks for posting back and marking your thread as answered. Your thread, as others is helpful for all users of those Macs.

  • Open Source Log Analyzer Project

    Hi people,
    I have a question whether there is a open source project which analyze logs from database. I mean I have a table(Log table which is like syslog message format). I need to analyze this table with a web based project. So, Do you know any open source project that do this? Thanks

    Huh? How is this question related to JSF?
    Anyway, is Google installed at your machine? After feeding it with the topic title "Open Source Log Analyzer Project", it told me here something about AWStats and SourceTree and so on. More can't I (and Google) be of help.
    You can also consider writing one yourself with help of smart coding and nice API's like JFreeChart.

  • No admin ability when log in as "portal"

    I just installed the Oracle portal and logged in as "portal", but I don't see any admin function, it just give me "Home", "My Content", "Corporate Documents", what should I do?
    Thanks!

    Where is the "Builder" Tag? I login using orcladmin and it does not forward me to any page, just shows the login screen again with no error. I click to goto the portal home (/pls/portal/portal.home) and click on the Login link again and nothing happens probably because I am already logged in. However, I do not see any "Builder" link. How do I get to the "menu" or whatever to start configuring and creating portal pages?
    Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks!!
