Log file is not created.
Hello ,
I have executed the export command on a user at my office, with the log=<file name>.log parameter. It worked great. The same query when i am trying to execute on the client's server it give's me error and when i execute it without the log parameter it gets executed normally. The issue is ,my client's server data has many up's and down's so i want to check it in the log file of export, but cant create it.
what could be the reason i am not able to generate a log file at the client site in exp command ?
exp <username>/<password> file=c:\<file name>.DMP log=<log file name>.LOG

log=<log file name>.LOG I think you should give the complete path for the log file, so as to know exactly where it is generated, for
instance:
log=C:\temp\<log file name>.LOGHope this help.

I want to use Log4j to log the details about my portal application. I would prefer using Log4j instead of SAP Logging. I have created properties file in my portal application which extends Abstract Portal Component. This my Log4j.properties file which i created under dist\PORTAL-INF\classses folder. Check for the file in the server folder of your server installed directory.
ie..<Drive where server installed>:\usr\sap\<name>\<instance>\j2ee\<server node>

File name should read from properties file.

The most likely issue is configuration: apparently the various ways in which you run your program use different logging configurations.

When I install a client server application on my blackberry 9630 (v4.7.1.61( platform4.1.0.75)), and try to connect it to the server I get an error:

As per the Metalink note 747424.1, i replaced all occurances of LD_ASSUME_KERNEL with XD_ASSUME_KERNEL only in DB-tier, but not in the Apps tier. So this was causing the
above issue in the instalation of oracle 11i on OEL5
--Once again i alter and replaced all occurances of LD_ASSUME_KERNEL with XD_ASSUME_KERNEL in both the files....
(db tier)

(apps tier)
<APPL_TOP>/ad/11.5.0/bin/adgetlnxver.sh
--run the autoconfig in apps tier with completed successfully result (and also generated the DBC files)

In Enterprise Manager on Primary database it looks ok. I get the following message Data Guard status Normal
But as I wrote above the archive log files are not applied
After I created the Physical Standby database, I have also done:
1. I connected to the Physical Standby database instance.
CONNECT SYS/SYS@luda AS SYSDBA
2. I started the Oracle instance at the Physical Standby database without mounting the database.
STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initluda.ora
3. I mounted the Physical Standby database:
ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE
4. I started redo apply on Physical Standby database

After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
DGMGRL> show configuration

After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.

Mod_jk.conf file is NOT created
Hi Experts,
I am using Apache(2.0.40), JBOSS(3.0.3) and Tomcat(4.0.4) on IBM AIX 5.1 System.
After spending 1 week on Integrating Apache and Tomcat on IBM AIX System (and getting HELP from you guys from Mailing List), I finally builded "mod_jk.so" file for this platform.
I also configured Tomcat's "server.xml" and "workers.properties" file BUT when I start my JBOSS engine, "mod_jk.conf" file is NOT created automatically. I refereed the following document to configure that:

Do you experts have any suggestion/information as to why "mod_jk.conf" file is not created automatically? The above document says the file is CREATED AUTOMATICALLY once you start Tomcat!

Apache keeps trying to serve the *.jsp's and it fails every time it trys to do so. I know this b/c the Tomcat logs are virtually empty while the Apache logs keep being added to like so:

This error occurs just after bootup, no programs started except windows..
Running Windows 2000 latest version on a brand new computer.
(pent 4 3.0 ghz 500MB ram).
Can anyone help me with this problem? Happened after install Labview 7.0
express. Installed twice and same problem occured with both installs.
Labview 7.0 is the only thing installed right now. Also selected "Visual
Basic Support" install from driver cd's.
One other thing I just noticed. System info reports 2 processors and I
think I only have one.
TIAHappy update.
After ignoring this problem for awhile and installing some NI DAQ boards,
this problem is not happening anymore.
Would urge NI to investigate further though. Messed me up for a couple of
days, and still don't know why it happened.

Redo log files are not applied in DR of primary
Hi All,
I have a DR database of primary on QA Serevr. The Redo log files are not properly applied in the DR database.
The Oracle version is 11.2.0.1 Some of the files get shipped and applied to DR database automatically but not all.
SQL> select status, error from v$archive_dest where dest_id=2; gives following massage
ERROR ORA-16086: Redo data cannot be written to the standby redo log
Please suggest.

Confusion with AEBS, Airport Express & Ethernet
I have an Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS) in one room and an Airport Express (AX) in other. The AX is set to extend the wireless network. The AEBS is right by my desktop machine so I have opted to connect to the AEBS by way of an ethernet cable.
