Log in behaviour

Hi,
I have set a log in page to use the security level within my
db but it does not like the get level from function. If I set the
restrict access to the page function just to the user name and
password all is fine, when I set it to use a Access level too it
stops working and denies access to everyone. I have tried changing
the data type in the SQL db but this has no effect. I have also
removed the log out script as I noticed this puts it at the top of
the page and clears out the Username session variable.
Any ideas would be gratefull received, Thanks in
advance.

That's what I'm trying. At the moment I've applied DW's log
out behaviour, with the code :
<div id="navcontainer" align="center">
<ul id="navlist">
<li><a href="index.php">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="<?php echo $logoutAction
?>">Log Out</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
So I've been trying things like :
<li>
<?php
if(isset($_SESSION['username'])) {
echo "Logout";
} else {
echo '<a href="login.php">Log In</a>';
?>
</li>
But obviously going wrong somwhere.

  • Logging out behaviour after installing leopard

    I believe that before I installed the Leopard upgrade when I would log out of one account on my machine and nothing was running, the system would just log off the account without prompting me and return the to the login screen.
    After installing Leopard it seems to me that whether or not something is running the OS prompts me if I want to close all applications and continue logging out.
    Is this a new behaviour of Leopard or is there something running in the background that I don't know about?
    thanks

    To be honest, I can't be completely certain how things were in Tiger since I have always used ⌥⇧⌘Q to log out immediately (assuming there aren't any unsaved changes), but the existence of both options suggests to me that the dialogue was always there. Maybe the wording was different, but I don't think the behaviour has changed...

  • Bandwidth surges and hundreds of requests in logs - Strange Behaviour

    So, beginners luck I guess...
    Basically set up a client site to redirect from our existing site www.abc.com (hosted externally) so the client portion would direct to client.abc.com.
    I had all the internal stuff setup correctly, dns for the client.domain.com pointed to our external ip and the everything was hitting the right spots internally and externally. Within probably 12 hours, the server started experiencing sluggish performance, the cpu usage was never at anything less than 50%, the webserver was getting about 29 hits per second and chewing through bandwidth.
    !http://i56.tinypic.com/35hk0w8.png!
    !http://i53.tinypic.com/2kijyc.png!
    After looking at the webserver logs, there were lots of random entries that I can't explain.
    !http://i53.tinypic.com/24dftxy.png!
    After this happening we deleted the external dns record so that client.abc.com wouldn't point to our external ip and left it for the weekend. Coming back on monday, we've chewed through about 25 gig of traffic so it appears that it may take a while for our host to propagate dns fully...
    I have turned off web services and the bandwidth and cpu usage went down and we're back to normal now. I've also restored from a time machine backup so there are no actual remains of anything to do with the modifications we made. (which is what makes me think that dns has not fully propagated as aside from the web settings, was the only thing that changed)
    The software in question was a PHP file manager called mollify that was running on the client portion. Can anybody explain what was happening with the server and why it got all these random hits and chewed through bandwidth? We're running an external firewall with only a bunch of necessary ports forwarded (mail, web, ftp, vpn ect)
    I need to get this software up and running soon so any helpful info on how to fix the network would be great. Anything you need to know just ask!
    Thanks!

    under settings>proxy the 'enable forward proxy' is turned on.
    Yes, that's what you need to turn off. Absolutely.
    This allows clients to connect to the server and request content from some other site. The server then retrieves that content and delivers it to the client, potentially caching it so that subsequent requests can be served from the cache rather than requiring another round-trip to the origin server.
    In your current setup you're allowing anyone, anywhere, to connect to your server and request content from any other server on the internet. That's bad. That's why your bandwidth has spiked. It's why your CPU is running hot. It's why your logs are large (and growing fast).
    If enabled _at all_, the forward proxy should only be available to clients on your LAN, so that it can cache common requests from your internal clients. For now I just suggest turning it off completely.

  • Log Out Button

    I would like to turn the hyperlink created by the log out
    behaviour into a button.
    I inserted a button onto the page and changed the onClick to
    &quot;&lt;?php echo $logoutAction ?&gt;&quot; but
    it isn't doing anything.
    Can anybody help?

  • Lion Lock Screen Logs me Out

    In Snow Leopard, invoking the screen saver when the Security pref panel "Require password after sleep" was checked worked the way you would expect: when the screen saver was cancelled via a mouse or keyboard event, a dialog asked for a password, and then you were back in.
    In Lion, I am logged out when I move the mouse, and booted out to the log in screen. I have to wait while (a) I'm logged out; which takes five or ten seconds; and then (b) of course I have to log back in, which probably takes a minute to restore all the apps. This just seems wrong. It's also at odds with what I've seen reported, for instance in the Ars Technica review. I've never seen that little floating lock screen dialog. How can I get that instead of the heavyweight and time consuming log out behaviour?

    Do the log files in Console provide any clues?

  • Error connecting to SQL  server 2005 from Dreamweaver 8

    Hi I have a database in SQL server 2005.I just started using
    dreamweaver's server behaviours.When I use the "log in" behaviour I
    get the following error.
    Microsoft VBScript compilation (0x800A0401)
    Expected end of statement
    /MyBlog/Connections/connBlog.asp, line 9, column 38
    MM_connBlog_STRING = Provider=SQLOLEDB;workstation
    id="FAZ-F6EE655890B";integrated security=SSPI;data
    source="FAZ-F6EE655890B\SQLEXPRESS";persist security
    info=False;initial catalog=MyBlog;
    -------------------------------------^
    First thing that came to my mind was obviously my database
    conn isnot right but when I define a conn using the built in
    dreamweaver's dialogue and test it, it says that the test
    succeeded.Also in the dialogue for the "login page" it shows the
    values of fields from the database, so it is definitely connecting
    to the database.So I don't know why am i getting this error.Please
    someone help!

    See if this TechNote helps:
    ASP error "VBScript compilation error '800a0401' "
    http://www.adobe.com/go/15717
    Are you using the ASP VBScript server model?
    Try creating a simple recordset that displays all records
    from a table and
    see if you can get that to work. It's less complex code than
    the user
    authentication server behavior and might help to isolate the
    problem.

  • Acquire semaphore gives error Code = 0

    I have incorporated a semaphore into our software.  The semaphore protection works fine for a little while then gives a mysterious error code = 0.  From that point on, no semaphore operations will work correctly.  Has anyone ever seen this error?  Any clue what it might mean.  There is no message included with the error.
    During Debugging I incorporated a mechanism to destroy that semaphore and get a new one.  I found that I can create a new semaphore but when the new semaphore is used, the reference is invalid.  I am using unique named semaphores.  I'm thinking that once the error occurs, the semaphore core is somehow corrupted.
    This is occurring in built code running on windows server 2003.
    Jim West
    Summitek Instruments

    I'm not following the reasoning that there is a race condition. It seems to me that if the semaphore works as advertised... meaning that the "Test and Set" action is correct.  There can never be a race condition of the kind that multiple processes lock the same semaphore.
    In my webserver, there are two pieces to the puzzle.  The server that creates/destroys the semaphore and the processes that acquire/release the semaphore.
    The main server, which is always running, creates a named semaphore.  Places that reference in a global.  Let's called it REF.  On shutdown, the semaphore is destroyed.
    When running, a user requests a web page which then spawns off another handler process using a VI template (VIT).  Within this vi instance, the REF is used to Acquire the semaphore, do the protected action, and release the semaphore.  This will happen hundreds of times with no error.  Then, at some point an acquire is called and the acquire semaphore times out.  You can be sure that I have instrumented the code in such a way to tell me if a release failed or some other error.
    One possibility is that the VIT instance spontaneously exits after the semaphore is acquired.  I don't believe that this is happening but there would not be any way to 'log' that behaviour.
    It is possible that multiple VITs will attempt to acquire the semaphore using REF.  But that is why I am using the semaphore, to stack up the acquires in a methodology similar to stacking on non-reentrant vis.

  • Remote-control of a Mac server from Windows

    What is the Apple recommended way to logging into a Mac Server from a Windows PC so that I can manage it? I have an iMac on my desk but that's for creating/testing images. My main PC is an HP laptop running Windows 7. I've got Real VNC setup but the number of times it just stops working and I have to reconnect is not funny. Logging in is a chore, too. 1st password to control screen, then login to server, VNC gets kicked out during screen refresh, have to enter 1st password again to get back in.
    Is there an official RDP program like Windows has for managing Windows servers?

    Hi
    +"What is the Apple recommended way to logging into a Mac Server from a Windows PC"+
    AFAIK there isn't one? Why would there be? Putting the shoe on the other foot Microsoft offers RDC for mac to control PCs. I don't see anything on the site stating it's the 'recommended' way?
    +"Is there an official RDP program like Windows has for managing Windows servers?"+
    Yes. It's called Apple Remote Desktop. You can't install it on a PC. Since 10.5 VNC Server and Client are 'built-in' for Server and Client OS as you already know. The protocol is actually VNC. RDP is Microsoft's proprietary name for it.
    I've never had problems controlling any mac (server or client) using TightVNC, RealVNC or UltraVNC - there are others you could use and experiment with? Depending on the Windows OS and network environment you may have to experiment with all three before settling on one that works consistently. Perhaps the problems you're having are due to a misconfiguration? On the mac side enable Remote Management - not Screen Sharing. Go into the VNC options and enable the "Control Screen with Password Setting". Create a password but don't make it the same as the Administrator one.
    AFAIK the logging in behaviour you describe is normal in my experience. I've not found it a chore on either a platform.

  • JE 3.3.62 Long pauses observed in large database

    Our project, Apache Qpid, makes use of Berkeley DB (JE 3.3.62).
    I'm supporting a production user with a store comprised of 300 x 10Mb log files (approx 1.5 million records) on a 16GB SAN LUN.
    JDK is 1.6.0_16, hotspot JVM -XMx 3GB. OS tbc (either Linux or Solaris).
    We're seeing pauses of between 40 and 55 seconds every hour, fairly predictably offset from the end of the last pause by 60 minutes.
    We run with the default environment, not making any changes to the defaults in the env and no je.properties file.
    I appreciate that this is minimal info, but I'm really asking if there are bug reports/known issues or expected housekeeping/log cleaner behaviours which might account for this predictable/hourly behaviour.
    We're already looking at various avenues, including GC and also more specifically cache sizing for the BDB log.
    I'd be grateful for any advice you can give us for now.
    Thanks,
    Marnie

    Marnie,
    There are no known issues that might result in an delays at hourly intervals.
    JE does manage internal daemons that do work such at checkpointing, log cleaning, and btree compression. However, their rate of execution is driven by the rate of log growth, and the application's execution of JE operations, rather than a set time interval. If you are seeing pauses at very regular intervals, then your best bet is to first see if there is a correlation to application activity, and if that can then be tied to JE or system activity.
    JE Environment and system statistics are the best way to start out.
    - The performance section of the JE FAQ, at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/berkeley-db/faq/je_faq.html, gives some basic tips on how to collect statistics.
    - In JE 4.X, statistics can be collected through JConsole. http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/jconsole/JConsole-plugin.html
    - In JE 4.X, we made some improvements to the javadoc for EnvironmentStats. http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/java/com/sleepycat/je/EnvironmentStats.htmlEnvironmentStatistics. Most of the explanations apply to JE 3.3.X.
    Looking for spikes in the cache and log cleaning groups of statistics can often be a good first step.
    You'll want to look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/java/com/sleepycat/je/util/DbCacheSize.html for estimating cache sizes.

  • Forms 10g rel.2: new behaviour when accessing the db and not logged on

    If I start a form and I'm not connected, then I have a problem with one of my standard-logon-routines.
    This behaviour is new in 10g rel.2 I think.
    If I start a function on the db and the form is not connected I get a FRM-92101 - There was a failure in the forms server during startup...
    This is a migrated form, which runs in 6i, 9i, 10g rel.1, but not in rel. 2.
    Who nows a workaround ?

    see my post in this thread:

  • Weird behaviour - logged in twice?  black squares around focused objects?

    Someone else was using my laptop yesterday at work and now I'm getting some odd behaviour. Functionally, everything seems to be okay, but there is a solid black square around GUI interface objects that I focus on in the OS. And clicking on the apple menu lists two instances of Log Out username, Restart, and Shut Down.
    I tried repairing permissions and keychain access but I don't even know what to attribute this behaviour to.
    Any help would be much appreciated..
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!!
    Go to System Preferences > Universal Access and check the "VoiceOver" and other settings. You may need to set everything back to default to get rid of the black square.
    Not sure about the doubled menu items …

  • SAP Personas: An unexpected behaviour has been detected and you have been disconnected – please log in again.

    Hallo everyone,
    We are installing Personas and facing several challenges.
    Personas 2 SP02 was installed according to instructions of Note '1848339 - Installation and Upgrade note for Personas' and configured according to the Config Guide v1.3 (rel. May 2014). The referenced notes were also applied as well as the 'How to config - FAQ' blog by Sushant.
    We are able to log on and execute transactions and perform activities successfully (e.g. SE80, SPRO, KB15, etc.).
    When trying to copy a screen the following error appears: 'An unexpected behaviour has been detected and you have been disconnected - please log in again.'
    Thereafter one can simply continue executing transactions without having to log in again.
    Please see the download of the error attached as per blog: SAP Screen Personas Support Tips – client side logging
    The HAR is unfortunately too large to attach. Are there any alternatives?
    Thank you in advance for you assistance!
    Kind regards,

    Hi,
    I have never worked on SAP PERSONA but you can try below things
    1)try to use different user or J2ee_admin since it might be same user multiple session case
    2) Try with different browser since plugins can behave unexpectedly
    3)Make entry in host file also
    4) check dev_icm logs
    5) check on ABAP side for dumps in ST22

  • Strange 10gR1 Opatch Logging Behaviour

    Hi,
    just to see if someone else has experencied that:
    10gR1 opatch needs ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage directory
    for logging opatch lsinventory command messages, that is LsInventory.pm perl module.
    The point is that the module doesn't create that directory and it will show up following error message:
    Problems with creating the log file:
    Couldn't create file for logging. Error is: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
    So until you use opatch apply command (to apply a patch to the ORACLE_HOME) or until you manual create that directory in your ORACLE_HOME, you
    will be unable to log opatch messages.
    Thats' all,
    Greetings-

    Hi!
    I have recently encountered the same behaviour when running Forms from the Builder through my local OC4J container.
    The error was not same everytime.
    I would start debugging and the problem would disappear.
    I found that if I did a "Compile All" on the Form everytime i run, I can avoid these problems.and I wasted many hours on this. not in forms but in reports also, everytime i have to compile all the rdf before running it from web.
    I was running Forms Builder 9i (9.0.2) on Windows XP and all the forms were build in this version. as I had not used this developer version I was saying this is 9i bug.
    I have used developer 10g version and face no such problems but tim is facing this in 10g. so it looks problem is somewhere........
    Frank this indeed sounds strange

  • Strange User Account behaviour at Log In - not solved re duplicate thread

    This morning I cold booted my laptop and strangely after signing in it declared that it was "Preparing Windows." I was then taken to a desktop with empty Documents etc. folders. Panicking I went to the User Accounts and found all my folders and data intact but not accessible through the "account" I had been forced to log in to. Licensed software that was not installed as multiple user wouldn't show as licensed so I must assume that some sort of default new profile had been created. However, in User Accounts there didn't seem to be anything new.
    In addition to my account and that of my wife there were three other folders that I am sure have always been there. (1) Default (with user empty subfolders) (2) An alphanumeric (temp?) folder ... empty except for Appdata / Local / Temp ... itself empty (3) UpdatusUser - used by Nvidia to update the graphics driver (with user empty subfolders) (4) Public - usual subfolders.
    I solved the problem by logging out and logging back in with my usual login credentials. (Switching user didn't work).
    What happened please and how can I prevent it happening again?
