Log In Error for Particular User in FDM

My manager had set up my ID to be able to log into FDM, but when I try to log in (using that ID which is the same as the one used for HFM), I receive an error message that says:
Error: An error occurred logging on to the system
Detail: Type mismatch
My manager's ID and Password are the same for FDM as they are for just HFM and she is able to log in just fine. Is there something else that needs to be done to get me access?

Please perform the following:
a) Logon to the FDM application server
b) Launch the FDM Load Balance configuration
c) Click on the Authentication Providers tab
d) Highlight the OpenLdap/HSS provider and choose "Modify"
e) Click the "Logon Test' button and enter your uid/pwd and click OK
Is the logon test successful or do you receive an error? I am expecting an error.

PO getting terminated(runtime error) for particular user

Dear all,
                i have a PO and its driver program,it has a functionality ,that when i execute it thru ME9F,i get a pop-up to save the PO in 1. SAP script format
    2. PDF format
    3. HTML format
when the user selects PDF format RB,it gets saved on th Desktop directly,now in production server i have two users using the ME9F,one user executes the PO and gets saved on Desktop without any error and when the other user executes he gets save as option and when clicks save, it throws a pop up,file path not found .click search.when click OK it leads to runtime error.'FILE NOT Found'.
i have checked these possibilities.
1. memory of the user
2. whether acrobat reader is available
3. proper authourisation given to user
what exactly might be the problem ,can anyone help me in this issue,any help wud be greatfull.

The desktop folder location changes with regard to the windows(or Operating system in general) username and it will not be same for all computers.
To clear this doubt, ask the both users to perform the operation in the system which is not throwing error.
If it was the problem, it may be because of the hardcoded filepath of the desktop folder, check that. To solve change file path to something like "C:\temp".
And its always a good practice to check whether the folder exists before downloading a file. Use method Directory_exist of class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES for this process.
If possible post the download code segment.

We have webi report in 3.1 version which is running fine in Infoview for particular user.
But when same report is send into Inbox of other user and if user try to run it in infoview it is giving below error.
"No data to retrieve in Query 1"
All the security and group member level settings for both the user are exactly same. What could be the reason for this behaviour.

This message will appear if either the background jobs are not scheduled, or UWL cannot tell that the background jobs are scheduled. The message no longer appears once you ensure the background jobs are scheduled to run via the user id UWL_SERVICE and that user is mapped to my portal user ID UWL_SERVICE.

as you said if i start creating roles to restrict some users then there atleast 25 tcodes are there to restrict and 120 roles are to be analyzed and the job becomes hefty by creating roles and there will too many number of roles and it becomes confusion in future forecast. there fore i nedd any suggestion like that the userscan be restricted when they are trying to access that particular code or lock the screen or inform them to not access these tcodes thro some message or writing a program to restrict the users while the user exits. i have an idea but i dont know how it will work - ( I am not a ABAPER) there should be tcode or program which should list tcodes authorized for particular users and where they can be locked like SM01 ( but it will lock for all) but locking for particular users

Menu Exclusion for particular users

Hi All,
I don't think there is a way for my requirement but still want to check with you all if I can get any other solutions for this.
For a custom responsibility can we exclude the Menu items for particular users. For example the menu items are Reports1, Reports2. User1 should only have access to Reports1 and user 2 for Reports2. Can we do it by any profile options or how to achieve this.

Can you please confirm whether you wish to exclude menu or reports.
But anyway that being requested, if you wish to exclude a specific menu only to a particular user whilst having them to other user is not possible unless you create a different menu and assign it to a new responsibility and then assign it the user.
The same is applicable to the reports, but the same layout should be followed on request groups.

What my question is how should the ASA know which user is now surfing in the web. Does the IE or Mozilla sends the usercredentials in the webstream ? How can the ASA extract from the HTTP traffic which user is now surfing.
Is MPF and Regex really working to prohibit traffic for particular users?
I dont think so, the only solution in my opinion is to use a proxy server.

Hi Patrick,
I think you answered your question from the start. ASA's can do deep HTTP inspection by inspecting MIME types and looking for REGEX strings. However, like you pointed out, unless that string specifically has the user credentials or you can implement a REGEX to pull a consistent string your not going to be able to proxy your user traffic.
I have implemented HTTP Inspect Policy-Maps to restrict access to specific sites and I implemented the REGEX syntax to pull the URL strings. I have only implemented on very rare occasions in the event the client didn't have a proxy and specific comprimise was communicating to a site or entity that had multiple Layer 3 destinations.

Mysite is not opening for particular user

We have configured User profile service application with permission to create mysite in our environment. One particular user is not able to open mysite. When try to open mysite it generate an unexpected error message and given correlation ID. When followed
the log file with reference to correlation ID. I found following error in ULS.
My Site: PersonalSpaceRedirect: Unknown error: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.PersonalSpaceRedirect.RedirectToPublicPage(SPWeb web)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.PersonalSpaceRedirect.LoadControl(Object sender, EventArgs a).
Please notice that this is for a single user so we dont to recreate the user profile service application for restore database. Any help is higly appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I traced it to a problem with the Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.PersonalSpaceRedirect part on default.aspx. I'm still not sure what the underlying issue is, though. This is in SharePoint 2013 SP 1.

Portal Runtime Error for WPC user

I assign wpc_editor_role for my user. But he is getting Portal Runtime error everytime he try to create link list/teaser/paragraph, publish webpage, finish webpage. The error is as follows:

Getting mail authentication errors for outlook user sending mail

When Outlook 2010 user attempts to use port 587 to send mail (to himself at this point), we see the following in the server logs:
(User in question can attach to file shares on the same server just fine from his Windows laptop)
Outlook config for outbound server is "port: 587, encryption TLS"
When we connect, we get "connection interrupted by server"
Tried other encryption methods - outlook 2010 states that server does not support the other methods (None, SSL)

Ok - so I think I have it almost all sussed. So for all 3 of you who might be reading this, here is what is going on.
1) As I expected, this has nothing to do with the FQDN/Outlook problem. I actually rejoiced when I finally got far enough to have that problem with my Outlook 2007 and 2010 clients. And I don't like the recommended fix for that either. There is another way - more on that in a minute.
2) This problem was all about authentication methods. At present, I have OS X Mail Server set for plain text and APOP only. I will be working to fix this soon - but at present I am unable to find any other combination that permits both Mac Mail and Outlook clients to authenticate properly. Mac Mail wants to use CRAM-MD5 by default. Outlook is so incompatible with CRAM-MD5 that even when there are other authentication methods available on the mail server, if CRAM-MD5 is selected on the Server then Outlook fails miserably no matter how you configure the Outlook client. Caveat: this is my own observation and I still have some experimenting to do. If you know otherwise (or can confirm more definitively), then please speak up!
So here is the working configuration at present:
   A) Mail Server authentication set to Custom with PlainText and APOP selected, all others blank.
   B) Firewall permits inbound from ports 25 (for mail from "outside"), 587 (submission for authenticated users, TLS) 993 (SSL IMAP), and 995 (SSL POP).
   C) Mac POP Clients:
      i) For retrieval (POP) In advanced settings, use Port 995, Check "Use SSL", Select APOP for authentication.
      ii) For submission (SMTP) : Set port 587 (only), Set Authentication to "Password"
    D) Outlook 2007,2010,2013 clients
       i) For retrieval (POP), Set "Require secure logon using SPA"
      ii) In "More Settings/Outgoing Server" set it to require authentication with same credentials as inbound
     iii) In "More Settings/Advanced"
         a) Turn on Encryption for the POP3, this should change the port to 995 automatically. If it does not, fix that too.
         b) Set outgoing server to 587
         c) Set TLS for the encryption type (nothing else will work here)
Once you do 2.A, 2.B, 2.D, you will THEN, finally encounter the FQDN problem.
3) So Apple and a lot of folks here in the forums resolve the FQDN problem by removing one of the restrictions:
    Remove "reject_non_fqdn_helo_hostname" from "smtpd_helo_restrictions" in your postfix main.cf file.
I have at least 2 problems with this:
   A) It removes yet another little bit of security from the setup
   B) It involves non-GUI changes to the config...which is dangerous if you use the GUI, as changes within the GUI will often result in overwrites to your changes outside the GUI. So you can easily lose this fix without being aware of it until one of your Outlook users starts screaming.
The problem is really with Outlook and Windows not sending the FQDN in the first place. So how about we force them to do that instead? It turns out not to be too hard. I found a thread somewhere that goes into this and it works. Further, the solution remains on through reboots AND also can be made part of an automated deployment of a standard config. The only gotcha is you have to edit the registry...so you have to be careful. You only need to do this ONCE though, and the two entries are easy to find.
C) Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/Tcpip/Parameters
       i) Set Hostname to the FQDN of your host (replace HOST with HOST.domain.com - or .net, or whatever)
      ii) Set NV Hostname to the FQDN of your host
      iii) Close Regedit and Reboot to have the changes take effect
Once you do this, the FQDN problem for Outlook users goes away.
So I am looking for suggestions to make the SMTP submission more secure. Aside from that, things are working - and I have had to make ZERO changes to config files outside of the Server GUI - a plus as far as I am concerned.

Lyncdiscover reports HTTP 500 Internal Server Error for external users

I have a problem providing lyncdiscover information for external Lync users. The same address works internal (prompts for file download) so I believe the problem is UAG/TMG providing the site which is not my cup of tea. I have a working external lyncdiscover
for other domain in the same Lync + UAG/TMG server environment. I have also checked the public DNS records few times and everything should be fine. Firewall also shouldn't be an issue since it reports the internal server error, right? Any suggestions what
should I check?

The same result goes for the other domain that provides the lyncdiscover information correctly for external users. It doesn't seem to solve the root cause but might help to understand
the problem.
