Log-in information - change email address

Hi,
I would like to change the email address of my account. I can modify other accountdetails, but not the email address. How can I change it?

Unfortunately, you cannot. The software OTN uses to run the forums doesn't support changing email addresses. Your best option is probably to create a new account with the new email address.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

I have an iPhone 5 and after changing email addresses am having syncing issues with Outlook.

My calendar syncs from my computer to my iPhone but not from my iPhone to my computer. It used to sync both directions. I'm guessing the same is true of contacts. I've gone through all the tabs in iTunes. The calendars are checked properly but I can't find anywhere to say update information on computer using information of the iPhone. I fell like that used to be an option. I've tried restarting everything to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?

And I forgot to mention I have just changed email addresses so with the old email it was all working then with the new email I'm only functioning one direction.

There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes.
Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list. I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me. My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see. There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email. As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one. I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information. This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!

Are you trying to change the email address which forms the login? Or the @icloud.com address you created when you opened the account? You can't change the latter.
You can change the login address as long as it isn't an @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address.
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

On each device go to Settings> iTunes and App store> Turn off automatic downloads of Music, Apps and Books. Now a purchase will only go to the device from which it was ordered.

I just changed email addresses. TB keeps forwarding copies of emails to new address to the old one

I can't find a place where TB directs emails in any account to a default account. Having just changed email addresses. I have have two accounts in my TB program. For each email I receive, at either account, I get a message saying it was forwarded to the old account and is undeliverable, since the isp has shut down that account. How do I change or delete that automatic forwarding? I have not deleted that account from my TB list yet, since I am still working through the files left there to decide whether to move or delete the individual emails. Will simply deleting that old account solve the problem?

You'll need to login to your account via browser and check the settings for your account.
There is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account'. Thunderbird is an email client you use to retrieve mail from an account you setup with your email provider.

I have just signed up to the unlimited BT Wifi service and have a couple of questions that I wasn't able to find an answer to on your website:
1. I believe that by opting in, I am now sharing my broadband with anyone in the vacinity who is also signed up to BT Wifi and chooses to log in. My question is, does this effect my broadband limit?
2. According to the info on the site, when out and about, I can log in to any available wifi service using my BT email address. However, I recently got an email saying that my BT email address was going to be discontinued because I don't use it. What will I use to log in when that email address is no longer valid?

No, you will always have priority on any bandwidth

You will log into the BTWifi hotspots using your primary email address and password, if this is not a regularly used email account I suggest you log into it every so often to avoid losing it.

I had to change email address and I now have a redundant email address which is attached to some of my purchases and downloads. Can I delete the old address somehow and use only my current email address?
