DISK I/O problem press the skype icon down in the corner and cancel skype. then start skype all over. if it stil doesnt work contact skype support.
i have tried everything i have uninstalled skype. and i'am 100% sure that i wrote the password right, becouse i gave my girlfriend the login information and it worked to login trought her computer.
I would really like to get a answer as fast as posible thanks

Please do a Skype reset:
1. Ensure that "Show hidden files and folders" is switched on.
Click Start and then Run Type "control folders" and click OK. In the View tab, ensure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled
2. Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click "Quit Skype"
3. Click Start >> Run Type: %appdata% Rename folder "Skype" to "Old_Skype"
4. Re-run Skype

I repost my log in problems with some uppdate info, it may help someone to come up with a solution....I am no computer expert, so please excuse my way of describing this problem.
I switched my Mac off manually after having been frozen from the sleep mode.
I have 2 accounts, one admin and one regular. I try to log into my admin, and I get the message "You are unable to log in to the user "my username" at this time".
I restart the computer, same problem again. I can log in to my second account with no problem. I reinstall OS X, same problem again. I ran the disk utility from the installation CD, even changed the passwords and I am still gettig the same message. Neither can I log in when in safe mode.
I would appreciate any suggestion, since my admin account contains valuable data and to reinstal/restore everything will be a pain..and probably impossible. Moreover, the data are encoded in the file vault and I cannot open them from my regular account, or can I? I have tried to open the sparseimage file in the admin user catalog, but I get "no mountable file systems".
Is there any hope? Or should I return my Mac to Apple, in 3 days my one year guarantee expires....

Sorry to hear of your difficulties, but unfortunately, the above message suggests that your data is likely permanently lost.
When data is stored in a disk image, damage to any portion of that image has the potential to render all of the files on the image inaccessible. Shutting off the power to the computer without "shutting down" normally increases the risk of damage to the directory in general, but if the image was actually mounted at the time, then damage could also occur to the directory in the disk image. Sometimes such errors may be repairable, but with "FileVault", the disk image is encrypted, reducing the chances of a successful recovery. It is unfortunate that nobody told you that maintaining up to date backups is essential when working with "FileVault" protected accounts.

Normally, only the owner of the ".sparseimage" used in "Filevault" is able to access the image to attempt to open it - this is strictly a permissions issue and has nothing to do with encryption. If someone other than the owner attempts to open the disk image, the message is something like "Filesystem failed to mount... permissions denied". If the permissions are changed such that other users are allowed to use the ".sparseimage", the they would normally be prompted for the password and be allowed to mount the image. However, the "no mountable file systems" error indicates a problem with the image itself.
It is not likely to succeed because I think the filesystem needs to be mounted for this to work, but there is no harm in trying to repair the disk image. Control-click on the "user.sparseimage" file and select "Get Info" from the contextual menu. Under ownership and permissions, change the "Owner" to the second user, or else give "Owner", "Group" and "Other" "Read & Write" access, then follow the instructions in this document:

I don't think you will be able to return your computer - check the documentation to make sure, but I think the "one year" only covers repairs if there is an actual physical defect - perhaps what is responsible for the original sleep problem. However, if you suspect you may have a lemon, you might want to consider buying two more years of AppleCare coverage as insurance, but I think it has to be activated before the original 1 year is up so you would have to hurry. But so far, I don't see any solid evidence of a defect - loss of the user data can be attributed to cutting the power without shutting down, which you said you have done more than once. -

About 6 months ago i deleted my facebook account permanently Now,i would create a new account from my email, and system says that email is already in use (when i was registered with facebook. account) So now i Signed in with an another email, but i would change this settings to my original email. BT websites have problems with IE8. XP and Google Chrome do not have the same issues. I notice that if you click on the email tab in the forum using Google chrome you need to login to your BT ID before logging in to your email.
With IE8 when I use my standard link to the forum it does not display the blue bar with the email tab.
Using XP you have the luxury of using Outlook Express to handle your emails. IMHO this is by far the best email client to use for HOME use.
I would suggest you concentrate on why you are having problems with XP and Google Chrome as the XP, IE8 and BT issues are unlikely to be fixed. -

we have running a BI 7.0 Portal. We have a guidline how to set up the Internet-Settings (IE 6) for using the portal. It works fine for all our subsituaries, with exeption of India.
In India, we get the log on screen and we can enter the user name and PW. By confirming this data, we receice the message:

But there is such a problem.
When u try to connect using this url it gives u the log on screen to enter your user/password (u can even change it!!)
but when you try to log on it just refreshes the screen and nothing actually happens.
The same time when you are doing it licaly in the office everything works fine.
Does anybody know what can be the solution of this problem?

Multiple Users/Logging In Problem
Using Multiple Users I added a second user to our iMac DV400 (blueberry, slot loading) running OS9.2.1. The problem: now we can only log on to the second user's desktop and can't access the primary user's desktop. Since the second user is set up with limited user privileges, we can't access the system programs; most importantly, the Multiple Users program so that we can revert this problem by deleting the second user from the system. Can anyone offer some help?

Start from your Mac OS installer CD (insert it and hold the c key, release the key when you see the "Welome To Macintosh" message)
Open your hard drive and locate the System folder. Open that and locate the Preferences folder. From that folder, delete the three preference files and one folder with "Multi User" in their names.
Restart as normal and empty the trash. You will have to re-create the user accounts. -
I am constantly having log in problems with my Apple TV
I have the latest version of the Apple TV (bought it about 2 months ago from Currys) and I have updated it so it is up to date, but after a few weeks I got the message 'could not sign in unknown error' and when I tried to sign back in using my apple id and password, the same message came up. I knew my password was right so I came on this site and found a post where somebody had the same problem as me and they had to restore their Apple TV. After reading this I decided to restore my Apple TV, and since then it worked. Another few weeks later this happened again, so I did the same and now it has been about 2 days since I did the second restore and this is happening again. I cannot understand why this is happening when my apple id and password are correct each time, it just logs me out for no reason! I'm fed up of doing restores. Is there a permanent solution to this problem?

logging mechanism can send messages to these destinations:
1) The console screen
2) The Log file.
In both cases , logging information is obtained. but The console screen shows information which i print by System.out.println() , and The log file shows information which is Event generated. I want to store information in a file , which is given by System.out.printlln().

No internet connection, log-in problems.. No help.
I've had a lot of troubles with my spotify this year. (Android)Months ago I didn't have any connection even though I was at home using my Wifi. I found help online and I was told to go to Settings in spotify and delete all cache and saved data. And then re-install the app. That was a downer cause I had to re-download all my downloaded albums or lists.Anyway, after doing this I had problems logging in with my new app. After a couple of times trying it finally worked. But it didn't last long. Maybe after 2-3 days my connection was again "gone". Even though I had full internet connection. I had to use my mobile network to listen to music, to download music (I use Premium) and my phone bills just kept getting bigger. I did the same thing all over again.. Clean all cache and data and reinstalled the app.. And now I can't even log in anymore. It's been like this for a couple of months now. I'm considering to just give up and don't use Spotify anymore.

- Does this happen with other devices, or is this device specific?

Mac Crashes - Log indicates problem with Dock
My MAC hangs once in a few hours (fairly random) and the Crash Log seems to indicate it is a problem with the Dock Application. There is no correlation between other applications that I am using and the crash. Many times it happens soon after boot up.
Also, I am not using any widgets and am not synching with an iPhone or iPod.

Binary images description not availableI have been having similar dock crashes --- I think they are caused by OpenOffice --- OO 3 and 3.01 both seem to have the problem.
I have a MacBook Pro 17 dual core Intel.
I started seeing the dock crashes on a 10.5.6 which had been upgraded all the way from Tiger to Leopard and onward to 10.5.6 including secupd2009-001.
The crashes were always similar to the original poster's. (see below).
After working on this for weeks I wasn't even able to tell for sure if this was hardware or OS software but I strongly suspected the latter.
Finally, I paid $100 for a Leopard DVD, and (in a separate partition) did an erase and install.
The problem went away for a while but now it's back.
The dock crashes restarted on the same day that I installed OpenOffice.
I just now dragged the OO icon out of the dock and instantly experienced a true system crash --- system locked up, will not respond to mouse, or any keystrokes --- had to power reset.
I have just used appdelete to unintall Open Ofice and all its friends.
I am going to try rebooting now and will agment this reply to tell results.

LMS3.2 Log rotation problem

we use LMS3.2 (windows single-server) for ~4500 devices and have a problem with log rotation.
That's our configured log roation:

The backup directory is the same as the usual log directory. The size of the 3 files is already bigger than the configured size in log roation, see:

After the log roation configuration we restarted the daemon manager, but it's not working. There are no backup files created and the 3 files are still growing.

HendrikAfter you configure the log rotation you need and restart the daemons, you need to schedule the job. The schedule buttong is available under
Common Services -> Server -> Admin -> Log Rotation. -
Novell client on Vista log-in problem.
(Netware 6.5) Installing a Vista pro with the latest Novell VISTA
client ( 1.0), I ran into problems. It's like the client won't browse
the tree and therefore can't log in. If I enter the server's IP
address in the tree field, it finds both the context and the server
right away. But after a reboot, that's gone again and you have to
enter the server IP manually again to log in?
This works fine on the XP clients in the same network. I have tried
to enter the server IP in the SLP scope list and add DHCP to the
protocol list - but that didn't make any difference.
It's like the NW naming disappears after each reboot.
Any suggestions?these are the classic "slp is not configured correctly" symptoms...

Named.log entry - problem?
Hi!
I have running a DNS-Server on my MacOSX Server 10.5.7.
Every day I find an entry in my named.log like this:
+11-Jun-2009 04:01:18.352 checkhints: view com.apple.ServerAdmin.DNS.public: L.ROOT-SERVERS.NET/A (199.7.83.42) missing from hints+
+11-Jun-2009 04:01:18.352 checkhints: view com.apple.ServerAdmin.DNS.public: L.ROOT-SERVERS.NET/A (198.32.64.12) extra record in hints+
The DNS-Server seems running fine, means I didn't notice any problems.
Can I ignore this error-msg.?
Or what can I do to solve the problem?

Peter.The named.ca file needs to be updated in you /var/named/ folder.

I have downloaded iTunes 7 on my Intel Macbook. I want to get all the album artwork for a lot of my songs. Firstly, it seems very stupid that I have to have an iTunes account to do this- I buy my music from a different store. The iTunes store works, until I try to login or create an account. It says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-9813)." Below this it says "Make sure your network connection is active and try again". Obviously my network connection is active! This problem seems only to occur on my computer- not on any other ones. Ok, it's not the end of the world for me because I don't buy my music there, but if I did...

PS. I have tried logging in with a friend's account and that didn't work either, so the problem isn't just with creating a new account, also with logging in. The friend's account works fine on their computer.My girlfriend has the same problem with her iBook G4 on the Uni network - you can browse the store all you want, but you can't log in or anything.
It's just her computer with this problem, since my Windows XP laptop works with iTunes perfectly fine. I'd really like to know if there's a solution to this, since I can't simply give her songs I've purchased without burning them to CD and then re-ripping the songs. *****.

Chrony does not do anything anymore
Since one of the latest updates the rtcfile /var/lib/chrony/rtc directive and the rtconutc directive in the /etc/chrony.conf were commented out. When trying to start chrony.service with this directives enabled it fails to start (code=exited, status=1
