Hi Glyn welcome to the forum.
It is only the primary a/c holders e-mail address and password that can login.  Sub a/c's wont work.

  • Tracing people logging on at BT FON and BT Openzon...

    Hello,
Please can you tell me if it is possible for BT to trace where someone is logging on using BT FON or BT Openzone.  My reason being I am being stalked and the emails come from IP addresses all over the place from btcentralplus.com.  I think I know who the stalker is and he has a BT phoneline and internet account so would have log in details.  If the police were to contact you could you tell them where he has logged on and whether this matches the IP addresses from the emails.
    Thanks

  • Problems logging in to wifi/Fon hotspots

    Hi guys,
Seen a few people who have this problem but none of the posts state the solution.
The problem I'm having is that I cannot log into any BT Fon/wifi hotspots when I'm out and about. I keep getting a message that my username/password is incorrect.
I've checked that I'm opted in
The email is my primary one
The email address/password is correct as I can log in and check my emails just fine.
    Any help would be brilliant.
    Regards

DD is right, but you also need to make sure that you're using a btinternet.com email address; although BT Yahoo! will accept other domains (eg btopenworld.com), BT WiFi won't. Actually, you can just use the user name (the bit before the @) for BT WiFi.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Have you had a look at this link here it explains how to connect to a hotspot.
It sounds like you are connected to your own homehub and not FON

  • Connect sequence with Cisco VPN & BT FON

I have an issue with the connection sequence using Cisco VPN & BT Openzone/FON
I cannot connect the VPN until I have logged in to BT FON/Openzone
This would be ok, but I use a tabbed browser & it is trying to connect all tabs at once over an unsecured link. Also, when (not if) the connection drops I am in the same position.
It should be possible to connect the VPN first, then the browser
    Thanks in advance,

The VPN client connection cannot be established without a path to BT Openzone, which hosts the VPN server.
That`s just the way VPNs work, you have a server and a client.

  • Connect to FON more than once with the 1 account ?

We have a couple of mobiles, and when i try to connect them both at the same time to FON, it knocks one off? (is this normal ?)
Is it possible to set up further email FON login accounts for each mobile in the house?

Only the primary email can be used to log into the free FON access. You could try using the openzone hotspot instead using the same email address and password.

  • BT Fon Registration

I've tried everything to register and/or log on to BT Fon in response to a snail mail message from BT telling me about the service and giving me my user name. All to no avail. Thought it might be because I was still using my old BTHomeHUb so installed my new BTHomeHub2 with the TotalBroadBand Software. All to no avail.
    What is the fix?

    Hi nobby196,
All BT Total Broadband or BT Infinity customers who have ordered their boadband service since March 2009 will already be members of BT FON unless they have opted out. Otherwise you will need to register (see links below)
You can check by visiting https://www.bt.com/wifi/secure/index.do
    or register by visiting https://www.bt.com/wifi/secure/index.do
    hope that helps,
    cheers,

  • Fon rejects my BT login details

Hi. I am opted in to BT Fon having checked this by logging into the BT Fon website. My router is also transmitting the BT Fon SSID. When I logged into the Fon website abroad using my Primary email address etc it rejected my BT login and it does the same when accessing the Fon website in the UK. Fon Support were of no help and BT Support also said it's all automatic so it will work; well it doesn't! Anyone any ideas?

Hi, thanks for your reply Pottyperson. Yes, it's all very confusing but it does have everything to do with connecting to a hot spot. When you Connect to a Fon or any other 'chargeable' hot spot the Connection is open i.e. no WPA etc so the Wi-Fi wireless connection is made but you are then taken automatically to the Home page of the provider; in this case Fon. You then need to pay with a credit card etc or prove you are a member of Fon. As a BTBB customer I am told by both Fon and BT Fon Support that I am automatically a member of global Fon using the same login but it doesn't work hence it appears the various global servers are not propagating my authentication credentials properly. BT Fon says they aren't aware of any problems but how often does BT say that when they haven't a clue how to fix a problem. Currently I will give up and no doubt it will magically fix itself in due course

  • No BT Fon from desktop

Hello there. Hope someone can advise.
For the last few days when I try to log into our BT Fon from my desktop PC I get the message, "You must have a BT ID and be opted in to the BT Wi-fi community to use BT Wi-fi. Log in to My Profile to check your status." I checked MY Profile and it says Opted in, the same as it has for the last few years when I have signed into BT Fon with no problems. I can still sign into BT Fon from my phone sitting at my desk.
Any suggestions what the problem might be?
    Many thanks

I also have this problem along with a few others see here:

  • Problems with BT FON

I was registered to BT FON with my primary email address but due to my system being infected with a malware virus I requested BT to block my primary email address and allow me to use a sub account I created, which they did. I have tried to log on to BT FON using this but I get the message "Customer Product is Not Allowed Product list." I have also tried to log on using my original email address but I get the message incorrect username or password. My HUB manager states that BT FON is active. Could anyone please advise me what I can do

    Hi Willetts51,
Thanks for posting. It looks as though your sub account isn't your primary account which would stop you from using the service. I can check what's going on with that for you. Drop me an email with your account details and a link to this post fro reference to the address in my profile and we'll take it from there.
    Cheers

  • BT FON membership

When I log in to BT FON (through https://corp.fon.com/en/login) I find I am described in their terminology as an 'Alien' even though I am opted in through BT and my HomeHub appears the FON maps as available.  I understand that this means that I would need to pay to use the network abroad.
Has anyone had similar experiences, or managed to use FON abroad.
I've tried contacting BT and FON but predictably they either don't respond or try to pass me on to each other.  In other words like many support systems, they're useless.

Private hotspots are indeed difficult to track down. Apart from the finder being very approximate and often out of date, it can only indicate where opted-in BT Broadband customers should be located, not whether their equipment is switched on, suitably sited, or indeed whether they're actually using a BT home hub.
It's often not much more than a shot in the dark. You can be lucky though, as I was in a Cambridge hotel where a local BT hotspot relieved me of several days of the hotel's exorbitant wifi charges. I don't know about other cities, but the phone boxes in Sheffield centre are fairly good (plus their coffee is better than the alternative from Seattle ).

  • Iphone 3gs and openzone and bt fon

    a very good evening,
i have just got a iphone 3gs with orange, they seem to think that i cannot log onto BT fon,
only BY openzone, true or not please. hving spoken to the orange help desk today they are sure that
openzone is ok but fon is not ok i thought from the forums that i could do both, help please
    julian

Im not an i phone user [HTC Desire], so I am making some assumptions about i phone functionality here.
First, your 'into Fon' is pretty quick, but it takes 24hrs ish for your hub to be updated - with a fair wind that it, and we have had some issues with Fon and hubs on here these last few weeks
    Assuming you've joined Fon, and that your hub is Fon activated, having had a long  time with this issue I would say;
Firstly, do not muck about with the BT Fon app. just yet.  Simply see what wi fi connectivity is available from the device.  You should see your own BT hub serial key code and BTOpenzone [or Fon - but probably the former] as well.  Whether [at first] on your own hub or elsewhere, just hook your device up to Fon landing page, and sign in a BTBB customer [very important detail].  You sign in using your primary BT e mail username and password.
But there are dragons, some hubs are not giving out a Fon signature.  Sign in is case sensitive, watch out for any auto capitalization etc.
It should be simple.  Once you've got a Fon enabled hub and managed to sign in, then go to the BT Fon app., and once you installed in on your device ensure that you check the username and password that will come as soon as the download to your device is complete.  Dont assume that because it is complete on your device it will be complete on the Fon app. You dont need the Fon app. to sign in though, it has to be said.
If you are a BTBB customer you can log into BTOZ and Fon, with the proviso's I've put above, and as doubtless some of the other 'Fon victims' may also add to this thread on the forum  Orange have mis-informed you.
Come back if you need any more steer on this.
    Hope that helps
    AQ.

  • Stop broadcasting bt fon?

Basicaly im using the hh3 as its a belting router on my talktalk line. I use this as it syncs a whole meg higher to the standard one provided with TT. Downside to doing this is i cannot log in on the fon website and disable this feature as im no longer with bt. I live in a city so every now and again every day basicaly someone will connect to it and im basicly giving money to bt for a service im no longer with!
Is there anything else i can try to turn this feature off?

    redtela wrote:
Research how to flash the HH3 with a different, open source firmware. Something such as DD-WRT.
I'm not going to discuss the details of it here, partly as it would likely be frowned upon - the HH remains property of BT according to the last terms & conditions I read. But I will say that you'll be needing a soldering iron, amongst other things.
If that's too much effort / out of your skill set etc, then as per previous advice, use a different router. I also agree that as you don't have an active BT account, FON probably isn't sync'd up to your router so traffic can't actually do anything other than join the vLAN.
Not once the initial contract has finished.
You pay for the hub over the period of your initial contract, as long as it is bnot replaced by BT then it becomes yours.

  • BT Openzone and Wifi offload from mobile operators...

Having recently had confirmation that the BTHH transmits the Openzone SSID, I have just read a post regarding non BT customers using an iPhone to connect to Openzone. I asked a question regarding if BT are planning to use my BTHH as a wireless access point for the mobile phone industry (remote a... and the answer at the time was no.
Having just looked at a mobile phone providers website it appears that they can indeed connect to BT Openzone.
Therefore just for my own piece of mind - Can non BT customers connect to the BT residential HH or can they only connect to commercial areas (ie a cafe)?
    Thanks
