Log in to Secure Global Desktop Enterprise does not work

Dear All !
I installed tarantella 4.10.903 on our server tarantella. We use secure
modus, proxies over 443 port. It does work with Log in (classic webtob)
but when I try with Login (Log in to Secure Global Desktop Enterprise
Edition) it does'nt work...Page cannot be displayed...
Should I install the full SW-Pkg. again ?

can you post the Listen lines of your httpd.conf file? Also try to
restart the tomcat server
$ tarantella webserver restart --servlet

Hello,
on several Windows 7 Clients the update/refresh of the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections stopped not working automatically. There is a Update failed error. When we do an "Update Now" manually, it gets synchronized without problems.
I am asking me if there is an issue with a stored Password as we Need to Change the Passwords regularily. The error is occuring for Connections to all RDS Servers (we have severals).
Does Windows store the user Password in the Task Scheduler? If yes, does the schedule Task Password Change automatically after the Domain Password Change?
Or what else could be the issue? The RDS Server and the certificate (Name the same as the URL) seems to be fine as not all Clients have this issue.

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
By default it will automatically update the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections but if in any particular case it’s not happening then for a try you can restart the server and check the result again. In addition you can try running below command and check
the result.
Start-Process rundll32 -ArgumentList "tsworkspace,TaskUpdateWorkspaces2

Hyper V in Windows 8.1 Enterprise does not work.

Hi All,
I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise edition (Product is activated). I installed the Hyper V feature and when i open the Hyper V manager i don't see my system there. When i click on connect to server and click Local computer i get a cross mark my computer name.
With the below screen shot.
I checked and Virtualisation feature was enabled in my bios. Also added my account to the Hyper V Administrator Local security group. When i went to the services.msc and when i try to start the services(All hyper V) it does not start. I get the below errors.
Below is the screenshot of the Error.
I installed a Windows server 2012 R2 in the same desktop and in that O/S Hyper V works Fine. I have issues only with the Windows 8.1 Edition.

Hi,
The log files would be expected to be under applications and services logs/Microsoft/Windows
if Hyper-V has been turned on.
Besides, there is another way to fix corrupt files in Windows 8.1. Take a try with the DISM command tool:

Please type the command below in CMD:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Then please re-enable Hyper-V feature and then check if issue could be fixed.

Creative Cloud Desktop App Does Not Work

Since the last updates, the Creative Cloud Desktop app no longer works. That is, I can no longer sync files, upload files, or update apps. Everything with the Creative Cloud Desktop App used to work fine. I am using Windows 7, 64 Bit system.
The files I try to upload through the desktop app, are under 5 GB. Some are 10 MB. When I try to upload a file I get a message that says: Sync Failure - with no detail about the failure.
When the app tells me there's an update(s), when I either choose one update or update all I get a message that says: Update Failure - with no detail about the failure.
I have tried to solve this problem by turning file and font sync off and then back on, or logging out and then back in.
The Abobe Team, should test this product further. I just want the community to know that this product does not always perform as expected. Therefore, it's not always reliable.
I would upload some screen shots, but after pressing the camera icon, the images would not insert.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you getting Error code 1 while running CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg file ?
If so , follow below steps :
Important : Launch Activity Monitor and "Force Quit" all the process related to Adobe like Creative Cloud setup, CoreSync, AAMupdater, AAMupdater notifier, Adobe Crash demon from Activity monitor.

Security filter with variable does not work correctly

I have one table with this columns (called BI_USERS):
USERBI | REGIONS
XXXX 10,5 -> In this case the user XXX can access the region 10 and 5
AAA 9,7
I use this table to apply the security filters. Fisrt I did a initialization block with the select: SELECT USERBI, REGIONS FROM BI_USERS WHERE USER = :USER
This select populate two variables: variable USER (system variable) and UserRegion (Non-system variable)
After I use the UserRegion variable in the securty filter of the one group of users. For exemple:

"Claro"."Historico Saldo Pre-Pago" Enabled "Claro"."Historico Saldo Pre-Pago"."DW_UN_NEG" In(VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.*UserRegional)* )
But the issue is that the query is not working, because the query created for BIServer no use the IN operator. Seems the IN operator is changed for equal (=).
And the query returs error because the value 10,5 (for example) is not a numeric value.
Anybody could help me, please? I am using the version 10.1.3

First of all you have some syntax errors with your init block:
select USERBI, REGIONS from BI_USERS WHERE upper(USER)=upper(':USER');
Couple things to consider here:
1) Why are you selecting Userbi column from the table? Is USER system session variable not getting populated through other souces like LDAP or default security?
Ans: If your user session variable is getting populated from a different init block, then you dont need to select that column. Then your init block would look something like this:
select 'USERREGIONAL', REGIONS from BI_USERS WHERE upper(USER)=upper(':USER'); - Data Source
Row Wise Initialization - Data Target
Initblock that is populating the user session variable as the order of precedence.
2) If you dont have USER session variable populating from any other source, then your init block would look something like below:
select 'USER', USERBI, "USERREGIONAL', REGIONS from BI_USERS; - Data source
Row Wise Initialization - Data target
After following one of the above two steps, you need to apply the filters on the table.
"Claro"."Historico Saldo Pre-Pago"."DW_UN_NEG" IN(VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.USERREGIONAL))
Note: Make sure you understand that variables are case sensitive.

Global Selector .AFFieldTextDisabled does not work

The declaration of styles against the global selector .AFFieldTextDisabled do not effect disabled input text components as is implied in the Selectors for Skinning ADF Faces Components document.
Can anyone please clarify if I am using this selector incorrectly or if you have managed to get it working.
I have been unable to find any material indicating a problem or different implementation of the .AFFieldTextDisabled selector.
I tried a simple custom skintest application and AFFieldText selector functions as expected but the following global selector style definition doesn't change the style of disabled input text components.

The Blackberry Desktop Software Does not work it 'freezes'

I have on my laptop the Blackberry Desktop Software, which has being working fine for a long time, but suddenly it 'freezes' nothing is working. I have un-installed it, run Ccleaner to clean up registries, re-installed it again and the same thing happens IT "FREEZES" don't know the reason??? Need help because I always do my backups on my BB.

As you see, with XP, SP3 has been required for quite some time...so none of the more recent Desktop Software versions will work for you. But, those System Requirements pages are kind of messed up right now (three tabs claiming to be for "6.0.1", but with different information on each).
If you cannot obtain SP3, then you will need to fall back to older and older versions of the Desktop Software until you find one that works under SP2. Old versions can be found here:

Remote App and Desktop Login Does NOT work

Hello there,
I have an easy one for you all. I am running Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter off a server at a university. This server is only intended to be shared with ~10 people doing various tasks like using programs installed and storing data. As
of now, I only have been able to do RDP from home with it. Having tried to setup remote app and desktop, it only works on the server itself and not on other computers, both on the same subnet and a completely different IP address altogether. Let
me break down my questions:
1. Though the security certificate is installed in Trusted Root Authorities, but the site is only trusted on the server and not on any of the other computers. How do I get the others to trust it?
2. Number 1 except this occurs in the Remote Desktop and App window as well.
3. Adding users would be under active directory administrative center-->[my server]-->Users-->Add right? I guess I cannot play with 'User Accounts' in control panel anymore.
Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone thinks I am better off doing other things like virtual desktop, then I am all ears. I just want to keep things as simple as possible.

Firstly, how to you reach the server from Internet, via host name, public IP address or VPN?
If you need to remote to the server via host name, can you nslookup the host name and get the correct public IP address of it?
Do you install the AD DS role on the server? Please let us know if you need the active directory environment.

Mac OS X 10.5: Unable to log in after an upgrade install fix does not work?

After running Software Update, I am unable to log in.
I found the following support article:

However, upon step 8 of the instructions, the following error appears:

This is actually after an update (not an "upgrade"), so I'm not even sure these are the appropriate steps.
This is the second time that I have been unable to log in after an update. The first time, I attempted to reset the password with the installation DVD; however, this resulted in "No LDAP Master" errors and I installed Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Server on a second internal drive and configured everything again. After setting everything up on the second install, I was going to reformat the first boot drive. Unfortunately, I'm just back to where I started after running the updates. I'm not sure if having two volumes with Mac OS X Server installed makes a difference in the instructions in the article mentioned above or not.
Another question: Is resetting the password with the installer DVD the same as using the Single User approach ("launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist", "ls /Users", then "dscl . -delete /Users/username AuthenticationAuthority")?
If so, I'll just do that; however, I am hoping that the Single User approach might somehow avoid "No LDAP Master" errors again.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

CF10,0,11,285437 global UNC Mapping does not work?

Maybe the way global UNC mappings are supposed to be added has changed?
When I under ColdFusion 9 add the following mapping via the adminstrator interface:
Logical Path = /SharedFiles
Directory Path = \\webroot\sites\_SharedFiles
The url http://somesite.com has it's path set to \\webroot\sites\somesite in IIS7.5
Browsing http://somesite.com/SharedFiles/some.cfm renders the cfm fine, since the CF9 mapping for SharedFiles works without any issue.

Browsing the url http://somesite.com/SharedFiles/some.cfm throws a 404 Not Found, since the mapping doesn't work with CF10, it points to \\webroot\sites\somesite\SharedFiles\some.cfm instead of what is specified in the mapping.
This is rather critical when hundreds of sites are setup to use such a global mapping, and we can't really switch to CF10 before this works again.

Found something which I miss for CF10.
In CF8 you can:
Adding a virtual web mappingA virtual web mapping lets you map a physical system path to a logical resource path that might be outside the ColdFusion MX web root. For example, you might want to map the physical directory c:\myapp\resources\images to the logical resource path /images. After setting up the mapping, users access the directory using a URL in the following form:
http://hostname/images/
One advantage to using virtual web mappings is that it hides the physical layout of your application directory structure from users.
To configure a virtual mapping:

In a text editor, open the file web_root\WEB-INF\jrun-web.xml.

Create a virtual mapping.
For example, the following entry maps the c:\myapp\resources\images directory on a Windows system to the virtual directory /images:

Firefox 1.0 and secure global desktop

Hi we have Tarantella Secure Global Desktop Enterprise Edition for Intel
Linux kernel 2.4+ (3.42.947).
When using Internet explorer and secure global desktop i get my default
printer as ready . Then i can access the applications and im able to print.
But when i use firefox i just get a printer with a big red cross over it.
Seems like its not able to retrive the default printer. This means that i
have no deafult printer attached and cannot print.
Im using the latest java version on both browser
Anyone knows what causing this? And if there is a way to make this work in
firefox 1.0 which is our default browser

Ketil,
Firefox is not a supported client for v3.42. EE 4 does support Firefox 1.4+.

Desktop Software does not start - really not at all

Hi everybody,
I hope this is not a common problem...
I installed the latest version of DM (710_b033_multilanguage) successfully on my PC.
Win7 (64bit), 8GB Ram, plenty of Diskspace and sufficient Video HW
As mentioned the installation was successfully.
When I start immediately a windows error message pops up, telling me the the Blackberry Desktop Manager does not work anymore (translated from the original German popup) and that Windows is looking for a solution. Sure enough Windows does not find anything and the window disappears without further notification.
I tried
- reinatalling
- repairing
- installing on SSD as well as on standard HDD
- searching the blog on "not start"
- cussing
- and now posting
Can anybody help - please?

Wow, that's an interesting one - seems as though the sharedCursorPane has
some hard requirement that the base App be mx (this isn't terribly
surprising, considering it was built with the mx components, but it's still
a bug). Can you link against the source code (provided for player 10 now!),
and change that line in sharedCursorPane :
From :
Application(mx.core.Application.application).stage.removeEventListener(Mouse
Event.MOUSE_MOVE, onMouseMove);
To :
stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, onMouseMove);
and see if that works for you? I can't honestly tell why we're using the
line that was there... It's possible this was a workaround for another
issue. Anyhow, if you wouldn't mind being the guinea pig for this one, we
can get to the bottom of it.
