'log in user' server behavior trouble

I am trying to figure out how to log in a user with their
username/password, but the only listing that shows up in the 'my
account' page is the first listing in my database. What I am doing
wrong?
I have tried everything. No matter what I do, regardless of
what username/password I use to log in, only the first listing in
my database shows up in the 'my account' page.

I was playing around with the sql filter and still couldn't
get it to work. Whenever I play with the filter, the user profile
looses all its dynamic data.
Which setting is the proper filter. I assume it would be
'username', and then 'entered value'? Or would it be 'session
variable'?

  • Cannot Edit Duplicate Server Behaviors (bugged?)

    Okay, here's a problem:
    I've got a user login page with two different forms on it -
    one to log in new users, and one to log in existing users. I
    applied a "log in user" server behavior to each of them. Now both
    of these server behaviors are showing up under the Server Behaviors
    menu with the exact same name: "Log In User". When I try to save
    this file I get the following error:
    The Server Behavior panel cannot determine whether "Log In
    User" or "Log In User" is applied to your page. Please select the
    Edit Server Behaviors and change one of the two behaviors to ensure
    that each is uniquely identifiable.
    Clicking on each of them points to the same block of code
    (which logs in the existing user). I cannot delete them using the
    minus sign. When I click on the plus sign and select "Edit Server
    Behaviors" it shows me two other custom behaviors that I'd already
    downloaded (and used on another page) but doesn't show me the "Log
    In User" behavior at all.
    Is there any way to edit these behaviors? Change the name of
    one of them? Right now my page is working perfectly and I wouldn't
    mind the error except for the fact that this page is based on a
    template. Any template changes I make are not updating to this
    page. . . perhaps there's a preference I could change that would
    allow template changes even if an error is encountered?
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Sylvain; thank you for the reply.  No, this issue impacts entries other than automount as well.
    So far I have observed this with entries consisting of :
    1) top/posixaccount/organizationalPerson/person/inetOrgPerson,
    2) top/groupofuniquenames/posixgroup
    3) top/iphost/nsHost
    4) top/nisNetgroup
    I have double/triple checked the schema and any log files as well to no avail.
    I have opened SR 3-10281206831 related to this issue.

    The Log in User server behavior fails to redirect at the

    I have an extension that would help, the PHP Log in Suite. It
    contains 34
    server behaviors to work with session variables or cookies,
    with all the
    code generated dynamically. The system is modular, so the
    components can be
    put together in different ways to create different types of
    log in systems.
    For full details have a look at
    http://www.phploginsuite.co.uk/

  • Creating Login Pages - Server Behavior Issues

    Hello,
    I been trying to find a solution to this problem for this
    past week.
    I'm having issues with creating a login page. First, I get
    the page created with a username text box, password text box, save
    username checkbox, etc. Next, I add the server behavior for 'User
    Auth' - 'Login User'. Now..here's the problem. When I complete
    that, I get this error (SEE BELOW). Somehow the server behavior
    duplicates. I can't go on until I make one of them unique from the
    other. I tried every which way to delete it, but I can't. Any
    suggestions?
    SERVER BEHAVIOR ERROR

    User" or "Log In User" is applied to your page. Please select Edit
    Server Behaviors and change one of the 2 behaviors to ensure that
    each is uniquely identifiable."
    NOTE: By using the "-" sign above the panel, I can't remove
    the duplicate.
    Also, when I create a login page, I do need to insert a form
    first("form1") and then place the username, password, checkbox
    inside that "form1" form I just created, correct?
    Thanks for all your help!

  • Server Behavior Login Permissions

    Hi,
    I have set-up up a database based upon username, password and
    security access level, the access level contains 3 types of groups.
    group 1, group 2 and group 3.
    I've used the dreamweaver login user server behavior. Looking
    at this it only allows you to go to one succeed page.
    Because i have got three user access levels, i'm looking for
    it to send each set of users from each access level to three
    different succeed pages.
    In other words, group 1 is sent to one succeed page, group 2
    is sent to a different and group 3 to another.
    Is there away of doing this?

  • What is a "logged in user" on the "Active Sessions" report in CF8 Server Monitor?

    I was looking at the Active Sessions Report (The Chart View) and saw I have more "logged in users" than "active sessions".
    I had expected them to be nearly the same.    It's on our Intranet where I log users in (using cflogin and cfloginuser) at the begining of their session and users should be logged when the session ends.
    I couldn't find a detailed explaination of what a "logged in user" means.   There is a chance that the same user is logged into a nested application as well as the Intranet, but I don't think that is what I'm seeing.
    I also don't see a way to get a list of what CF is counting as a logged in user.  I can only see a way to get the total count.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Thank you Michael for the reply, but I don't think that is the issue.
    When a user opens their browser on the intranet, a session begins and they are logged in (using the cflogin and cfloginuser).    If they close their browser, the session should hang around for 20 min. (per the server setting).   I am assuming this is still considered an "Active Session" since I can see this behavior in the report.
    At first, the Active Sessions and Logged In Users are exactly the same.   When the sessions start to time out, the active sessions are reduced,  but the Logged In Users remain the same.    Then,  after a while, they start to move together.  So I have more Logged In Users than Active Sessions.
    I left the Server Monitor open last night and for most of the night, I had 0 sessions, but 57  "logged in users".   This morning, as people opened their browsers, the Active Sessions and Logged In Users moved together.   The gap of 57 looks consistent.
    It looks like people are remaining logged in after their session ended.
    I am really looking for a detailed explaination of "active session" and/or "logged in user" as used in the server monitor.  It would be really nice to find a way to list the details about each item counted in the "logged in user" and not just the total count.
    Thanks Again for your reply.

  • Programatically Check if the logged in user is in the Administrators group in Project Server (C#, VS2010)

    Hi I would like to be able to check if the logged in user is a member of the administrator group programatically through c#
    I know that I can get the user's GUID / check if they are actually a user in project server (resource table in reporting DB) but I am having trouble finding out how to programatically check if they are a member of the "Administrators" group.
    Could somebody please provide a code sample of how to check if a user is in the administrators group when you have their GUID or username or name?
    I did not see a table in the reporting DB that has this so I am guessing this has to be done through the PSI..
    Thanks in advance!
    BTW.. i am just wondering is there a way to check each groups permission levels? was wondering that if it is possible, what is the best way to implement a similar security model to that of the actual project server 2010

    hi Amit :) I ended up finding the answer myself before you posted here but thank you for your reply anyways, it is basically the same thing that I did.
    This is what I ended up doing :) Basically I have three different types of users configured in my web.config - admins, readwrite users, and read only users. In my code here I loop through and find out who the person is. Based on what group they are in I
    can later show/hide different options in my application :)
    SvcSecurity.SecurityClient security = new SecurityClient(ENDPOINT_PROJ_SECURITY);
    string adminGroupsString = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["adminGroups"];
    string readWriteString = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["readWriteGroups"];
    string readOnlyString = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["readOnlyGroups"];
    List<string> adminGroups = new List<string>(adminGroupsString.Split(';'));
    List<string> readWriteGroups = new List<string>(readWriteString.Split(';'));
    List<string> readOnlyGroups = new List<string>(readOnlyString.Split(';'));
    List<Guid> adminGroupIDs = new List<Guid>();
    List<Guid> readWriteGroupIDs = new List<Guid>();
    List<Guid> readOnlyGroupIDs = new List<Guid>();
    List<Project> projectList = new List<Project>();
    SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["RDB"].ConnectionString);
    con.Open();
    SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM MSP_EpmResource where ResourceNTAccount = @username", con);
    command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@username", this.User.Identity.Name);
    SqlDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader();
    if (reader.Read())
    string resourceID = reader["ResourceUID"].ToString();
    //Get a list of security groups
    SvcSecurity.SecurityGroupsDataSet sgds = security.ReadGroupList();
    //Get the IDs of the required groups
    foreach (SvcSecurity.SecurityGroupsDataSet.SecurityGroupsRow ds in sgds.SecurityGroups)
    if (adminGroups.Exists(group => ds.WSEC_GRP_NAME == group))
    adminGroupIDs.Add(ds.WSEC_GRP_UID);
    else if (readWriteGroups.Exists(group => ds.WSEC_GRP_NAME == group))
    readWriteGroupIDs.Add(ds.WSEC_GRP_UID);
    else if (readOnlyGroups.Exists(group => ds.WSEC_GRP_NAME == group))
    readOnlyGroupIDs.Add(ds.WSEC_GRP_UID);
    bool isAdmin = false;
    //Go through each group using the id and check if the current
    //user is in that group (for example here check if the user is an admin)
    foreach (Guid id in adminGroupIDs)
    SecurityGroupsDataSet group = security.ReadGroup(id);
    foreach (SvcSecurity.SecurityGroupsDataSet.GroupMembersRow member in group.GroupMembers)
    if (member.RES_UID.ToString().Equals(resourceID))
    isAdmin = true;
    Session["createReport"] = "true";
    break;
    //If the user is not an admin then continue checking who they are
    if (!isAdmin)
    bool readWrite = false;
    //Check if the user is a read write group member
    foreach (Guid id in readWriteGroupIDs)
    SecurityGroupsDataSet group = security.ReadGroup(id);
    foreach (SvcSecurity.SecurityGroupsDataSet.GroupMembersRow member in group.GroupMembers)
    if (member.RES_UID.ToString().Equals(resourceID))
    Session["createReport"] = "true";
    readWrite = true;
    break;
    //If the user is not a read write group member either then check if they are a team member
    if (!readWrite)
    foreach (Guid id in readOnlyGroupIDs)
    SecurityGroupsDataSet group = security.ReadGroup(id);
    foreach (SvcSecurity.SecurityGroupsDataSet.GroupMembersRow member in group.GroupMembers)

  • Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.

    Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.
    I'm NOT in any way a Terminal Services expert and I need help trying to get an application program working in a multi-user environment.
    The issue is that the printer changes for every user that is logged in. The application needs to print NOT to the default printer, but to a "special" printer which is selected in the application... let's call it a label printer to simplify the explanation.
    You have your default regular printer, easy for the application to find that one, and then you have a special printer that labels get printed onto. The application needs to know what printer is the label printer. So we allow the user to select that in the
    application and the selection is stored in a config file in
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    I don't have access to the application so I can't change how this works.
    In the "regular" world, selecting the label printer driver to use should be per machine, NOT per user. When a new user logs into a machine, the physical printer doesn't go "poof" and a new printer suddenly appear. Same printer for all
    users.
    Yet in terminal services, the physical machine is "merged" with the virtual machine on the server. And there can be many users logged in at the same time. So each users real machine (and real printer) is injected into the "fake" terminal
    services machine. The name of the printers is made unique for each user. So the printers DO go "poof" and change names depending on the user logged into terminal services.
    So user "A" logs in and sets up the application to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" (or whatever the name of the printer happens to be), that setting is stored in the ProgramData subfolder, and all is well. Later, user "B" logs
    in, and when they print, the application tries to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" which doesn't exist for user B or is only accessible by user A. If user B re-configures, that breaks it for user A.
    SOLUTION 1: The way that /should/ work (in my mind) is that you define one "generic" printer in Terminal Services... call it "Virtual Label printer" and when the user wants to print to it, the print job gets re-directed back to whatever
    physical printer is actually connected to their local workstation. There is a map of virtual printer to actual printer depending on the current user. The application is told once to print to "Virtual Label Printer" for all users.
    SOLUTION 2: Or... there should be some way to make the ProgramData sub folders separate per user. E.g. when user "A" tries to access:
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    they actually get
    C:\UserData\UserA\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    and user "B" gets
    C:\UserData\UserB\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    So the question I have is: Does either of those solutions exist hidden somewhere in the setup of terminal server? Or is there another way around this issue that I don't know?

    I don't really have a "for sure" answer to this, but because people here can't seem to deal with a question that hasn't been answered I'll provide the best answer I did receive from ServerFault.com user Nathan:
    I can feel your pain with using old software on terminal servers ...the solution I've come up with definitely won't scale as it requires some manual configuration, but I've gotten this method to work with our label printers (which require to be
    printed to an LPT port...yep, that old).
    Share your USB-connected printers to the network on each machine. Then, have the user log in on aunique session for each of them
    (a TS account cannot be shared among computers for this to work) and install a network printer pointing to the USB one they shared. Try to use a DNS name to account for possible DHCP movements.
    After, it should work. Each user can do this since display names can be identical as long as the ports are different (which they are).
    This was clarified by the following series of comments:
    I think you are on to something here, and I originally advised the admin to do this. The problem he ran into is that it setup the printer names in the TS as "printer on usersworkstation"
    and he could not rename it except to change the "printer" to whatever. E.g. the "on userworkstation" remained. I believe there is another way of installing the printer which avoids this, but I can't find it. Ages ago, one used to do NET

    @JamesNewton That's actually the exact method we used. The way around the "network printer" part is to install it as local printer and map it to a TCP/IP port that way. –  Nathan

    You mean in the case where the printers are TCP/IP connected and not local USB / LPT to the users workstation? That makes sense. Wonder if this will work for USB connected printers... –  James

    @JamesNewton You'd share the local printer on the client's PC then on the server connect via TCP/IP to it. You'd need static addresses or use DNS names if DHCP, though. –  Nathan

    Ah. Yes. I see. Looks like the LPT thing should work even with a USB connected printer:superuser.com/questions/182655/… –  James

  • User profile images not persisting after log off on Server 2012 R2 RDS Session Hosts

    Hi,
    We have a 2012 R2 remote desktop deployment, with two session collections, a gateway server, and connection broker.
    We have set these session collections to use centralised user profile disks.
    What I am having an issue with, is that when a user sets their profile image through the server they have logged on to (I have the desktop experience pack installed so they are able to do this), they can see the user tile has been set with that image in
    settings and also on the start menu, but as soon as they log off the server and back on, their profile image has been reset to the default blank image.
    I have checked all of my group policy options, and cannot find any settings that could be impacting this.
    Does anyone have any ideas why these images are not persisting for users or admins?
    Thanks, Eds

    All of our servers are running Server 2008 R2 Enterprise where we use Citrix to deliver desktop sessions to our users, but some are virtual and some are physical. This seemingly impacts our virtual machines more, and our VMs are hosted through VMWare, however,
    about 5 months ago a similar error fired on a non-virtual machine:

    I've searched and cannot seem to find any information as to what may be causing this, or even really where to start. Would someone be able to help me identify what might be causing this event, specific with the Exception code: 0xc0000024, which causes
    the Group Policy Client service to stop?

    You still out there looking at things? If so I have an update. The issue hasn't stopped, even though it did seemingly die down for awhile, however, it is now back with a vengeance.
    I am able to force it to happen by killing the svchost process that is hosting GPSVC. If I run gpupdate /force, then logout/login it does get GPSVC running again. Furthermore, if I simply start svchost again via the Task Manager GPSVC starts running again.
    When I access the server remotely with KVM it acts just like it does as if I'm logging into it via Citrix/RDP which for Admin IDs gives an error saying "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service...",
    however, normal user accounts just get a message when logging into the server "The Group Policy Client Service Failed the Logon. Access is denied."
    I haven't opened a case with Microsoft yet, but we about ready to because of the increase in these errors.
    If you have any further suggestions that would be great, otherwise I'll provide an update once I get word back from Microsoft.
    **EDIT -- apparently I mistook the the server's SCM's actions as my own. I was able to successfully crash the GPSVC service by killing the hosting svchost process, however, after I crashed it and let it sit crashed for awhile when I attempted
    to restart either by starting a svchost task, or running gpupdate /force it failed. Either that, or there is a timing issue where if we don't restart the svchost process, or run gpupdate /force quickly enough it won't be able to recover without a reboot.

  • Project Server 2013 SSRS reports by logged in user group

    Hi All,
    We are using project server 2013. We have developed SSRS report. We need to display the projects based on the logged in user security group(e.g Project Manager, Administrator etc.) I tried with the below query got from a forums. But it is not working. Is
    there is any way to get the security group of the logged in user using SQL query.
    SELECT     MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUPS.WSEC_GRP_NAME, MSP_WEB_RESOURCES.RES_NAME
    FROM         MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUP_MEMBERS INNER JOIN
                          MSP_WEB_RESOURCES ON MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUP_MEMBERS.WRES_GUID = MSP_WEB_RESOURCES.WRES_GUID RIGHT OUTER JOIN
                          MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUPS ON
                          MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUP_MEMBERS.WSEC_GRP_GUID = MSP_WEB_SECURITY_GROUPS.WSEC_GRP_GUID
    Thanks in advance, Taj

    Taj,
    The query above gives you a complete list of user groups and users. It does not filter by resource name/group.
    You can get the logged in user using the "USer Filter" webpart, on which the SSRS report is being displayed (assuming you are displaying it on a SharePoint page).  You will need to pass this as a parameter into your SSRS report.

  • How to know users currently logged in Content Server ???

    Hi
    How could we know the no of users currently logged in the Content Server ???
    Any database entries....???
    please Help
    Thanks in advance

    There's no database table that tracks currently logged in users - the users table simply tracks the users that have profiles in the system. As mentioned above, if you needed this info you'd have to use the WebLogic server API or write a component that captures the users' login and logouts and tracks that in a custom table.

  • Any parameters can restrict user ID to log-on application server

    Dear All,
    I had configured the login group (/nSMLG) as following:
    Logon Group  Instance
    TEST            app1
    TEST            app2
                        app3
                        app4
    However, app3 and app4 still have illegal user log-on.
    Did any profile parameters can restrict user ID to log-on application
    server?
    BR,
    Well

    Hello Well Well,
    I could clearly understand what you mean. From what you have stated I am able to understand that:
    1. You have 4 application servers.
    2. You have included 2 of them in Logon group TEST.
    3.  The remaining two are not part of logon group.
    4. You want users not to login into app3 and app4 but to TEST only.
    There is no profile paramter for this. At the max you can close the dispatcher port for these 2 servers but then no one would be able to login into  them.
    Best is to include all of them in to SMLG.
    Regards.
    Ruchit.
