Log new software license key

is there a way to manually add \ log a software key or license information in spiceworks?

Hello Lisa
I am not sure if you are using SAP Industry Solution (IS) for High Tech Software.  The way you posed the question, I am guessing you are not.  It is a curious mix of SD, Classification, Variant Config and Instalbase functionalities.
You are on right track, in the module I mentioned above, each license is treated like a Serial Number. To quote SAP help ' In mySAP High Tech Software, a software license is represented  by a serial number. It can be created as a line item in a standard sales document. '
And for the additional licenses, I guess you  need to add more lines in the existing sales order with the new quantity or create a fresh order. Or use License Bump Processing, see below for documentation link.
I strongly recommend Using IS- High Tech Software ( I don't work for SAP by the way)  by negotiating a license 'Bump' deal ( same subject) with SAP  and/or borrow the concepts from that module's documentation.

  • How to process a sale for a Software License Key

    Dear SAP Experts,
My company has developed software product which contains license keys.  After the sale, the customer later has the option to purchase additional license keys for said product.
My question is how to invoice for the additional license keys?  The product will have already shipped so would this sale best be recorded using  a DIEN material number?  I have thought about using Serial Number functionality, but the problem is that my company will not know the license key the customer wishes to purchase until the customer turns the part on.  Once the part number is turned on, then my company will know the license key the customer wishes to purchase.
Do you have suggestions for how the license keys can be invoiced after the sale of the initial product?
    Thank you,
    Lisa

  • How do you change out hard drives without losing all your software license keys

I have lots of cash tied up in software.

To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application SuperDuper. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html  You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

  • Error when installing new license key

Hi, I am trying to install the license key for the Netweaver 7.01 Basis Test system with saplicense -install ifile=NSP.txt and am getting the following error message:
    SAPLICENSE (Release 701) ERROR ***
ERROR: Can not set DbSl trace function
DETAILS: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNC_SET) failed with return code 20
                         dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)
                         DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll> (e.g. usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)
Thanks for any help you can give.
The original license expired and I cannot log into the system any more so I can't use SLICENSE.

    Hi,
Have you got the SAP License key by providing its relative proper Hardware key ? if its required get a new SAP License key again with its relative hardware key at SAP Service Market Place, , and apply it again by login with sap* user in client.
The variables DIR_LIBRARY & dbms_type are set correctly for the user Under which you are installing SAP license?
Have you tried the same activity with new Saplicense executable for 701 release ? Download new saplicense from SMP and try again.
Also do this at last.... Set your system date back to a date when the sap license was valid.... then reStart the system, log on to SAP client, go to transactoin SLICENSE, apply the new license using license file, verify the license application & then log off, change system date back to current date, and re-start sap system. The same activity you can do at command level also.

  • License key is invalid ....

Dear Experts, I just installed BOE on a test server with Windows 2003. Also installed IIS. Now I open the Admin launch and then click on CMC, I get this message "Server Application Unavailable ...". So I went to CCM and clicked on enable/disable server and tried to enable all servers (as I see red on them all).  I get this message "Your license key is invalid or has expired. ...."
Now I was wondering how I can login into the CMS while it is not coming up and then enter the license key info. Kindly guide me on this.

    Hello,
you have to log on as the Enterprise Administrator to the CMC and add a new valid License Key. After that you have to re- enable all Services in the CMC.

  • SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version - NSP License Key Expired

    Hello,
I successfully installed SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version in July 2009.  I kept my 90 day NSP license key up to date until May 2010.  I already applied and received a new NSP license key.  Unfortunately, I am unable to sign on to SAP using id's SAP*, DDIC, or BCUSER to upload the new license using transaction code SLICENSE.  I also can not locate file SAPLICENSE.EXE on my harddrive to update the license using DOS.
Can anybody give me any suggestions on how to update the NSP license key so I can start using the trial version on my computer again?
    Thank you very much.
    Rae Ellen Woytowiez

    Hello Arun,
Thanks for the advice to adjust the system date.  I will give you some points.
I just read from another post from Rich Heilman as follows:
"Please try to set your system date back to a date when the previous license had not expired. You may need to reboot here.  Start the engine. Try to logon. Install new license. Log off. Change system date back. Restart engine.  Please try this, I've heard that it works. If it does, please tell us."
Well when I set my system date back to before license expired, I was able to logon onto NSP and update it with a new license number.
    Kind Regards,

  • How to recover lost product license keys and not just Microsoft licenses?

Which products have you tried?  Have you looked at Magic Jelly Bean?  Depending on the OS and software, some keys are not retrievable.  You should also know that certain software are not transferable from one PC to another, reference the license terms of each for clarification.

There are so many products out there that claim to recover lost software license keys and all of the ones I've tried either recover only MS license keys or no keys at all.  I'm trying to recover keys from my fathers old system to install on his new one and some of the products he used do not have the keys available.  Anyone out there with a viable product key recovery tool that will get back more than just MS license keys?
My father will be greatly pleased.

  • HT2240 does anyone remember the url to the old apple page for retrieving license keys?

I cant find my old Quicktime 7 license key. I can't get it from the Apple Store as the link for downloading software license keys was removed a while ago. So Apple did have a page where you could look up your previous software license keys years ago, but the Apple Store design of the present makes that next to impossible to find. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the link on the top of the second page of http://www.google.com/search?q=app+store+lost+quicktime+license  It seems to mention something about QTP codes but you have to log into Apple.

  • Hardware/License Key is Licensing or Maintenance?

    Dear gurus,
I have basic question I want to confirm.
Is the ERP license key is based on when you decided to purchase SAP ERP software, and can be requested forever, or is it based on maintenance contract?
What I mean is, when we decided to terminate maintenance contract with SAP, can I request license key, when, for example, one of my server's component has to be replaced, thus changing the hardware key?
Or what happen when we want to migrate to new server because of server end of maintenance life, and we don't have maintenance contract anymore?
    Thanks for your answer.
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
As per your query this is for one time activity and no need to change. The hardware license key no get from https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/support  this site and select key & request button. Secound question if you wants to change your old server to new server then you have to login in SAP and get new hardware license key this is absulately free.
You have to select you new server type like (DEV/QAC/PRD) and get the license key.
In case you have any issued related to this pls revert back.

  • Encrypt license key

Hey, I need to encrypt a software license key and I got no time to study all those options. Can someone tell me a shortcut? Thanks.

It would depend on your choice of implementation. If you have a server that the (client) software can connect to, you can use public-private key cryptography. In fact, the key can be your license if you want. Generate a serial number for the client and add a timestampt to it. Generate a new public-private keypair. Keep the private key and a hash of the serial number on your server. Bundle the serial number and public key with the software. (Note, unless you have downloadable software of an online activation process, it will be trivial for someone to simply use a playback attack on your registration process). When a user wants to register, they send their public key and the encrypted serial number. The server decrypts the serial number and compares it with the hash stored on the server.
There are a number of problems with this methodology, especially insofar as you can never secure client software. But then again, you might only want to stop 95% of so of your users.

  • License key MINISAP NSP

    Hi all,
I successfully installed the MINISAP NSP (ABAP) Sneak Preview more than a month ago (30 day trial version). I forgot to request a new 90 license key in time, so now I can't extend it with the ney license key I just received, since I can't log in anymore.
Is there a way to extend my license without uninstalling and installing (again) the MINISAP NSP system?
    Kind regards,
    Micky.

    Hello Klaus,
In the system number.field it is written "System No.Empty" (Current license is the
first templicense). I have therefore always left this field empty when filling in the
request form for new license key on www.sap.com/minisap.
I tried to logon to cl.000 with user sap*, marked the row (templicense row), right-clicked and then choosed "Delete License" from the list.
I then received a message saying:
"Only the administrator is allowed to delete licenses. When the valid system licenses has expired, only the user SAP* can log on to the system. In this case, it would be dangerous to delete a license. This is why the user SAP* is never
allowed to delete a license."  !!
However, since I haven't started developing yet in NSP and was prepared to re-install everything if nothing worked out, I thought I better try first with debugging the SLICENSE program after selecting "Delete license" in order to "manipulate" the check giving the message above. It worked - the old templicense was deleted!
I restarted the system and tried to install the new license key according to instructions found on SDN:  System number should not be filled, the thread said, so I left the field System number empty in the installation pop-up. I still received the same error SLIC105 - invalid license key.
Finally, I tried to fill in the system number received in the mail from SAP anyway  -
and now it works !! The new license was installed and it's possible to login with
    other users again.
Thank you very much Klaus for giving me the encouragement to remove the old
license key. If I had not received your recommendation, I would never have dared
to think of removing the old license key before installing the new one.
Please copy your answer into my new thread and I can give you my points. (This thread was already marked as answered, so I can't give you any points in this thread I guess)
The new thread was created 27th of August and called:
Error SLIC105 - install new licence key for MiniSAP NSP SP8, Win XP Home

downloaded a license key for install and got overun with other projects, came back
to work on BEA a month later and the key no longer works. Where do I go to find
a new temp license key so we can get on with our beta tests?

It helps to say what product and version you are working with.
Also register at elicense.bea.com to have your future license problems handled there.

  • J2E License Key File With Changed System Number

    Hello,
During the last weeks, there had been some trouble according to the sneak preview licensing web site to get a new license key for special SAP systems like J2E, NSP etc.
In the meantime, I used especially for my J2E instance via visual admin the button "install subsequent temp license" with success.
Returning anew to the web site today, I saw that now we are able again to renew the license key for our trial systems and ordered successfully license keys for J2E and NSP instance.
Because both systems have got new system numbers, I deleted the expired license key for NSP via saplicense -delete. Then I installed regularly the given new license key with success.
After starting the J2E instance, I tried to delete the existing active license (see above) via installed licenses getting a message which let me stop my try to delete the license because I feared for to get trouble with the system afterwards.
The exact text of the warning trying to delete the existing active license sounds:
    DELETE J2EE-Engine_ADA License:
You are about to delete the license for the J2EE-Engine. This may lead to a shutdown of the running system. You will not be able to start the J2EE-Engine again without a valid license. Do you really want to proceed?
Trying to install the given license from file (via General), I got the informational message:
This system's system number is "xyz", but there is a license key for the system number "abc" in file path\J2E.txt. License key file path\J2E.txt doesn't contain any valid SAP license keys.
    License key(s) not completely installed.
    That was to be expected...
    So my questions are:
    1) What is to do when I want to implement the new given license key file which has another system number as the existing active one.
    2) How often can I use the possibility to prolong my active license via button "Install subsequent temp. license" in future without falling in trouble?
    Thank you for your answers.
    Regards
    Christian

Before deleting the J2EE engine license, check the "Installed Licenses" tab and verify that there is another J2EE-engine license with Validity "Valid" and within a satisfactory date range.  Only under this situation will I feel comfortable with removing the additional/expired licenses.
Your original message is a bit confusing ... let me see if I got it correctly.  You have been running your J2EE instance with temp licenses, because there was some issues w/ preview licensing on SAP's web site.  Now that you have finally received your preview license, you wish to install it.
But since then, your system number has changed.  Do you mean system ID?  Since your example used a 3 character ('xyz' vs 'abc').  I think the SID is what you mean.  Because changing system number will not require a new license, but changing the SID will.
So now you have the following.
    1. J2EE running on temp license with SID 'xyz'
    2. A new preview license for SID 'abc'
What you need to do is:
    1. Request from SAP preview license for the SID that matches your system 'xyz'.  OR, change the SID of your system from 'xyz' to 'abc', which is not recommended ...especially w/ AS-JAVA.
    2. Install the new preview licenses.
    3. Verify preview licenses are valid.
    4. I don't believe you have to remove the temp licenses, it's overwritten when you install the permanent preview licenses.

  • Retrieve License Keys to software if mac does not start up

I have a white MacBook running 10.6 Snow Leopard. I received it from a friend that had forgotten the admin pass, but is was still useable, as there was a standard user on it with no password that I could use. I then needed to install some new software, which required the admin password, so I followed the steps here to reset the password.
However, once I rebooted the Mac, it became stuck on the Apple Logo.
I have tried several different ways to make the Mac boot (start up from Install DVD and repair disk, run steps to reset password again), but none of them work. I know that I could simply use the install disk to reinstall the OS, but I have quite a lot of expensive software that I do not want to lose (Photoshop, Illustrator etc).
I have been able to gain access to the Hard Drive using Target Disk mode, but I know from previous experience that if I simply copy the applications across to an external HD, reinstall the OS and copy back, it will ask me for a license key (which I do not have).
Is there any solution to my problem?
Is there a file I should edit to make my computer boot?
Is there a location where Adobe programs store their license keys that I could copy to prevent me losing my software?
    Thanks in advance

If your getting to the log in window you are NOT on the OS Install Disc..
Just make sure you have the disc in the drive and Then shut down by holding the power button down... Then restart holding down the "C" key... If the disc ejects.. keep holding "C" and pull the disc out one inch then gently slide back in.. Keep holding C.... You will get a few screens then the install screen... STOP.. go to utility's menu at the Top of window... open "disk Utility".. highlight your FULL HD.. Click the button to the right ..OK Heres the deal.. I would erase/ re format the HD.. You will resolve any issue with the bad install.. But remember you will have a blank HD so if you didnt back up.. Well... Then Do your Install.. Nice and clean ... Best of luck....
