Log out of computer -- logs out of Internet connection also?

I would like to Log out of my account for a minute, to log in again, making a GUI system enhancement work from something I did with ShapeShifter. I never log out; I always shut down the computer when I'm done with it. So the internet is always working properly when I turn the computer back on. If I log out, does the Internet connection/IP reset? Or do anything else where I would need to log in some foreign way? (foreign as in, not my regular name and password log in).

I ask because if I need to log in some foreign way, I don't remember any of those kind of log in details, or Internet activation procedures. And I can't phone my Internet Service Provider at the moment to ask for help.

I need to know how to fix my Iphone 3g. I cant update it in my itunes as my computer wont get an internet connection anymore, but when i use any other computer i get "error message 1015". HELP ME!!

I went to update it on my computer, but it says it needs an internet connection to restore...and my computer doesn't connect to the internet anymore. I went to restore it on my roommates iMac, but as it was just about finished I got error message 1015. Please help me! I really don't have money for a new phone right now!!

How do I transfer itunes library from an old computer that is not internet connected to a new computer that is internet connected?

We have an old computer that is broken so no internet connection possible, but now want to transfer our iTunes Library from old computer to our new computer. Can it be done and if so how?

You will have to use a storage device to do so, such as a hard drive or media disk(DVD).

Sorry about that. Apparently web accelerator looks like it has something to do with 9.0 optimized. Since I was never able to download 9.0 (I still have 8.0), I don't have accelerator. If you want to check to see if you have accelerator, click on AOL Keyword and type in TopSpeed. If you do not have the most current version, it will bring you to a box that say something like "to use this you must have the most current version of AOL. would you like to download it now?"
From the brief amount of info I read, it looks like accelerator helps you surf the net 5x faster than dial up. Sounds like the old NetZero ads.
Thanks for posting on my board. I'm so disgusted with iTunes, that I think I will join the BMG (formerly Columbia House) music club (you know, where you get 7 free, buy 1 at regular price, and get 4 more free), buy a whole slew of CD's and import them into my iTunes library. And, my co-worker offer to burn some CDs for me, so maybe I will take him up on his offer, and import those. I'll keep checking your board. Good Luck!

Can I install logic X on a computer that has no internet connection?

I use a computer exclusively for music production, it does not connect to the internet and i do not want it to.
How can I install Logic X on it?
I have an older laptop (os10.6.8) for all the internet stuff.

That works... at least for me but not all users have access to stable high speed Internet... look at all of the aborted, partial or corrupted downloads we see on this forum alone.
The point is, Apple calls the shots and makes it easy on themselves with no alternate option. Not only that, they get free technical support from their users... that actually rely on this forum, clients I know have called Apple in regards to a technical problem and rather than upgrade the query they're sent here. The other point is.. the low price is Apple's carrot on a stick, if someone complains about the download size and time involved, Apple counters.. N95, Internet connection also four squares

Hi,
I have been able to connect to the web since I got the phone but recently whenever I try to connect it won't load the application. The phone will wind the WLAN fine with no probs but when I try to go online the screen tries to load then goes back to the normal screen.
The only thing different I can see is that there are four by the battery meter that I can get rid of.

Try going into Tools>conn.mgr.>Active data connections and disconnecting from the W/LAN network. Then reconnect.

Does using a Microsoft account require an Internet connection to log in?

The only way is to connect the iPod to a computer with has an internet connection and iTunes and restore the iPod. Use as friiend's computer or make an appointment at ther Geniuds Bar of an Apple store.

Wifi hangs up on start-up, and computer hangs after using internet for 5 min.

HP Touchsmart tm2, using Window's 7 64-bit. There are no error messages popping up, but what happens is I start my computer, and my wifi/internet connection icon seems to freeze while loading possible internet connections. If I turn off my wifi and then turn it back on using the button on the side of my computer, it seems to work correctly, then.
But, when I get on the internet, no matter what site I go on to, my computer will just hang up after being online for at most 5 minutes. Mozilla Firefox will go into a Not Repsonding mode, and I can't minimize it or click/open any other programs. CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, and when I hover over any icon, nothing seems like it's recognizing my mouse. The mouse moves, though, and the time even keeps going (it'll change from 9:13 to 9:14 and so forth).
It ends up figuring itself out, though, after another 5 minutes (literally an entire 5 minutes) and then seems to work okay.
Recently, I updated CCleaner to the newest version, cleaned out my internet cache, defrag my computer using Defraggler, used CClean to also wipe by free space, and updated Avast! Antivirus to the newest version and ran a full virus scan with no threats detected... :/

When there is a Power outage no matter what the source. can also create tremendous Power Surges. This can happen when the electricity is turned back on and can cause frying all of your Electrical Appliances.
Having an APC will save all of your Computer Equipment including your Modem, Router, Printers, Scanner, Computer, as well as Phone lines.

Here is the simple way to check and see if your equipment is still operable.
Turn your Computer clear OFF and pull the Power Plug
Pull the Power from both your Modem and your Router.
Wait a minimum of 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes Plug in your Modem and wait a minimum of 3 minutes.
Now plug in your Router and again you must wait 3 to 4 minutes.
Now you can plug in your computer and restart it and don't touch anything. If your computer starts up then you got lucky If not you will probably need to take it to the genious bar at your closest Apple Store. I lose my internet connection on my XP computer when the printer is connected as wireless.

My new hp6510 wireless printer works great but I lose my internet connection when the printer is connected as wireless. I am using the printer with a linksys router E3000. The network has an XP computer , a win7 64 bit computer. I do not have a problem with the win 7 computer, but the xp computer will drop the internet connection and sometimes I can get it to work by repair of the router connection, but sometimes I will need to reboot the computer. If I stop the wireless connection and use the USB it works OK. I have tried to get help from HP and Linksysm but no help. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Please try the following workaroud and let me know of any change:
From the PC's Desktop, click the HP Photosmart 6510 icon.
Under Printer Preferences, click Estimated Ink Levels.
Click the Advanced Settings tab.
Under Show Alerts, mark the 2nd option - Only show me ink alerts when I print.
Click Close, reboot the PC and follow for any change.

Authorize computer without Internet Connection

Hi all - at work we have all these server security and proxy issues. I have decided to bring my iPod to listen while I work (insert 7 Dwarves whistling) but I keep getting the message that "this computer is not authorized to play 'song name'" fro iTunes.
How do I authorize my computer without a successful internet connection? I CAN get on the web - so is there another way.

My knowledge about setting proxies is very limited (about 0), so I'm afraid I can't be much of a help on that.
I know you can set them on a Mac in System Preferences>Network
Then select 'Built-in Ethernet' and click on the 'Configure' button.
Next, select the 'Proxies' tab and you can enter your proxies.
Clicking the 'Assist me...' button will launch the Network Setup Assistant.
I suppose you have to set the HTTP and HTTPS proxies, because iTunes behaves just like any other browser.
That's all I know. I didn't experiment any step further, because my Internet connection functions flawless and I don't want to mess up (by lack of knowledge).
I would recommend posting a question in the 'Mac OS X Tiger' or 'Panther' Category and then choosing the 'Getting online' Forum.
