Bye
Vanitha
I guess it is perfectly a wrong notion as i personally or to many corporate applications are using Log4j & JBOSS combination and logging some critical details.
It would be great if you can go through the below links and try to configure it urself.
http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/logging/JBossLog4j.pdf
http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Logging
http://www.jboss.org/developers/guides/logging
http://www.theserverside.com/discussions/thread.tss?thread_id=29870
I understand as it lacks in providing a proper administrative tool by which we can do all this however,I think it is gud enough Application Server and could match any big player in the business :)

I tried to delete a calendar while in the app, but now it says the action is not supported in the server? There is also a pop-up that appears every 30 seconds to tell me about the error.
Probably better to be posting this in the Calendar forum.

OVM-4602 HVM is not supported in the server pool
Hi,
I'm trying to create a Windows 2008 R2 HVM guest and have come across this error:
"OVM-4602 HVM is not supported in the server pool"
Hardware is a HP BL25p G2 with AMD-V enabled in the BIOS. This is 1 of 5 similar servers in the server pool - all 5 servers have AMD-V anbled in BIOS. I checked the following:
xm info | grep xen_caps:
xen-3.0-x86_64 xen-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_32 hvm-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_64
xm dmesg | grep -i hvm:
(XEN) HVM: SVM enabled
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep svm:
svm is not listed in the flags
I'm creating the guest from VM Manager using an iso file. I haven't tried using virt install yet as I would like to get some opinions here first.
Thanks in advance.831583 wrote:
I know 3 of them were enabled after installation of OVM due to an oversight but can't vouch for the other 2 servers (these 2 were the first servers installed with OVM, including the master server).Remove and re-add them back to the pool. Oracle VM only stores the hvm-capable flag when it adds the server initially. It doesn't re-evaluate this later. -
I upgraded to Lion yesterday. Now I keep getting and error message: there was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with type "file:" are not supported. What server? How do I get rid of this.

Event log is not working in Multiform server
Hi ,
We are trying to implement event logging in our application. We have created separate event source for our application. When we testing this our local dev machine it is working without any problem. when I try to test the same in higher environment (QA, Pre-prod)
it is not working. The QA environment is a multi form server. We are able to see the event source in the event viewer, but the logging is not happening. We have tried restarting IIS, restarting the services.
Any suggestion or guidance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in AdvanceHi GHPMS,
>>We are trying to implement event logging in our application
Do you mean this code as below?
string sSource;
string sLog;
string sEvent;
sSource = "dotNET Sample App";
sLog = "Application";
sEvent = "Sample Event";
if (!EventLog.SourceExists(sSource))
EventLog.CreateEventSource(sSource, sLog);
EventLog.WriteEntry(sSource, sEvent);
EventLog.WriteEntry(sSource, sEvent,
EventLogEntryType.Warning, 234);
Like in following screenshot
>>We are able to see the event source in the event viewer, but the logging is not happening.
Maybe, you also need to check if the
eventlog exist method before you try to crate it new.
You might need check on what account the service is running under, which may make a difference on multi form server and up since they are more stringent on account rights on those environment.

Kristin

Server does not support remote panels, server overwhelmed
After an unknown amount of connections to remote panels, I recieve the "server does not support remote panels" error. Often times it will further say server is overwhelmed. It seems like sometimes we can have almost 100 succesful connections without the error and sometimes just only 10.
Ive combed over all other similar posts regarding this error and most others seem to have an issue with the initial connection, not after numerous succesful connections.
This error can be resolved by restarting labview; however, restarting means interupting some physical processes that are running in our warehouse. Is there a way to locate and empty this log that appears to be overwhelming the server?Thanks for the reply.
Using Labview 2013 Full Development on windows server 2008. IO communication done through compact field point modules. All remote computers used to access remote VIs have been loaded with the correct runtime engine. The issue seems to happen on the server end because once it happens, all remote computers get the same message, instead of one isolated computer having an issue.
There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to this error occuring(to my knowledge). Sometimes we can go a week or two without seeing it, other times, a few days. We upgraded to labview 2013 and the new server almost a year ago. This error didn't start happening until after about 4 or so months of use.
I came across this knowledgebase earlier this week and have verified that all of our settings are correct.
Thanks again for the reply! -
Hello I am using the SQL Business Inteligence Development studio that comes with SQL 2008 R2. However whenever i try using the graphical query builder It throws an error stating that the server i am connected is not supported. Only SQL servers from
2005 downwards are supported. dunno whats going onHi ,
It should not be . Did you create the data source for that server ? Test the connection . In design view add the data source which will be reference to share data source .I am not sure you were able to create data set perfectly ..
Let me know the specific error . I will help you out.

Custom event log is not working in SharePoint server

Thanks in AdvanceLogging should use the SharePoint Unified Logging Services (ULS) infrastructure.
Logging to the Event Viewer requires ADMIN PERMISSION... which is why it works fine in DEV, and not in TEST/PROD.
DO NOT LOG TO THE EVENT VIEWER... OR USE ANY OTHER HOME GROWN CONCOCTION... USE THE LOGGING FRAMEWORK PROVIDED BY THE PLATFORM.

Specified protocol not supported by IIS Server
Hi @all,
I want to use Collaboration in my Enterprise Portal, I can use everything (CLP, Chat, Mailing, etc.), except the Calendar in the Collaboration Rooms. When I enter a room with a Calendar I get the following message: <b><i>The specified protocol is not supported by the IIS server</i></b>.
I configured the Transports, Exchange System, Calendar Repository, IIS, MSX-A, etc.
Does somebody have a solution? Or where do I have to look for the needed settings?
Thanks in advance
regards
LuThis is a big reason to make the move to dynamic development. There are many sites that use PHP or CF and never connect to a database. The ability to have your menus, headers, footers added to your pages with one simple line of code such as:
<cfinclude template="FooterContent.cfm">
for ColdFusion or
<?php
include("FooterContent.php");
?>
for php
Makes it well worth moving from static HTML pages to using CF or php.
Even if your host did support SSI's you'll find true dynamic development to be a much more reliable solution - and this isn't even mentioning how to handle form submissions and so many other non database related functions... for example this line of code
Copyright 2002 - <cfoutput>#DateFormat(Now(), "yyyy")#</cfoutput>
Will automatically show the current year at the end of your copyright statement in your footer - sweet, right?
Hope this encourages toy to make the move.

Transaction Log Truncate not working on Sql Server 2012 High Availability Groups
Hi Everyone
Firstly I have tried to search the forum for similar issues but can't seem to find any that match our situation.
We have a SQL Server 2012 High Availability Group with 2 Nodes
Node 1 = Primary
Node 2 = Secondary
Backup Schedule as follows
Full Database Backup @ 00:00
Transaction Log Backup every 30 minutes from 00:30:00 till 23:59:59.
These backups are run by Maintenance Jobs, but we have also tried doing direct backups in SSMS using Backup Database and Backup Log commands.
Before we configured the High Availability group the transaction log backups worked fine.
After we configured the High Availability group we performed a Full Backup and the T-Log schedule did the T-Log backup. The 1st T-log backup truncated the log (Used space Decreased) as expected.
However subsequent T-Log backups do not truncate the T-Log.
This happens both in our acceptance and Live environments. This also happens when running the backups as a Backup operator and sysadmin, this does not seem to be a permissions issue at all.
We have tried running the Backup on the Primary and Secondary Replica.
What about High Availability groups could stop Transaction Log Backups from not truncating the log?
Thanks
JamesHi Sean

Archive logs are not transferring to DR server in DataGuard
Dear Gurus,
We have implemented data guard on 10g and it was working properly till last week.All of a sudden it is stopped working and i am getting the error in primary server alert log as
"ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
PING[ARCr]: Heartbeat failed to connect to standby 'STANDRR1'"
and the trace file entries are as follows
" Error 12154 received logging on to the standby,Error 12154 connecting to destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 standby host 'STANDRR1',Error 12154 attaching to destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 standby host 'STANDRR1',ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified".
We have changed nothing on either side of the servers.
Please suggest how to resolve the issue and Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards,
venkatHi,
