Log & Transfer red exclamation mark...HELP!!!

Hey guys, I have a shoot on Monday and for some reason my system is not allowing me to import p2 data. In the log and transfer window, i can view the clips (Scroll back and forth and what not) but when i select any and 'add to queue' the ball spins for a bit. Then it just stops and gives me a red exclamation mark. Any ideas What am i doing wrong? I have imported p2 before. Thanks!

Well then, if it works on one machine, but not this one, then something on this machine is causing it not to work. What that is, I cannot tell you. It can be any NUMBER of things. Some small application or plugin can be causing this. Finding out what that is could mean reformatting the drive, installing the OS clean, installing a fresh install of FCP, and then seeing if it works. Then installing all the other plugins and applications one at a time, testing import as you go along, until you can't import anymore...then you know what the cause is.

Final Cut Log and Transfer Red Exclamation Mark Error on Longer Clips

Hi Guys, I am getting the dreaded red exclamation error while importing from my Canon HF S100 into FCP 6.0.1 via Log and Transfer. I've had no problems with clips under 5 minutes they transfer over fine but clips longer than that will not transfer. Anyone else had this problem, any possible solutions?

My scratch disk is an external WD drive. I never did format it.
Is there a way for me to break the clip into 3 or 4 parts and then import it to FCP directly without log and transfer?

Log and Transfer. Red Exclamation Mark part way through ingesting

Hello. I have tried to search through the various previous issues raised re the red exclamation marks but couldn't find a solution to my exact scenario.
All seems to be fine ie connect camera (Panasonic SDT750 - recording at HG level, not 1080/50p option) and L&T sees the clips and I can start ingesting. But after a while it stops and I get the dreaded red mark. Could it be to do with the size of the clip, which is around 1hr 30mins? I say that as I tried adding in and out points to just capture a 30 second portion and it all worked fine ie got the half blue disc show up. On System Settings I have this pointed to an external drive with 1.4TB of space, and I have about 45GB free on my Mac Hard Drive.
I need the space on the SD card today for something so have deleted it, first copying all the contents over onto a folder on the Ex Drive and deleted the card, so hopefully can revisit later.
Am I missing something really obvious here, or do I need to think about only ingesting, say, half hour periods at a time? Many thanks.

Thank you everyone for your comments/suggestions. I have been looking into each and experimenting before posting back. Re each in turn:
Tom - CMD-I info says the format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Al - Limit capture boxes are not ticked. I trashed com.apple.finalcutexpress.plist, repaired permissions and re-booted.
skalicki - I had seen that post and thought that had cracked it as I had previously only been able to ingest a couple of minutes of footage, but on changing to plain stereo it seemed to be going ok, but then stopped after about 15 minutes instead. I did have about 45GB free on my hard drive, but I have now done some housekeeping and have about 96GB.
Randy - resetting the in point seemed to have some effect bizarrely, whether it was just this or in combination with trashing prefs i'm not sure, but now I am able to ingest about 30 minutes of footage (I tried an hour but this failed).
So currently I am proceeding with the project by ingesting footage in 30 minute portions at a time, which is working for now. But this doesn't seem right as a solution. What about:
Is there maybe somewhere else there could be a setting limiting capture.
Might using a card reader instead of the camera possibly help.
The disk to which Easy Setup is being told to save the footage is also used for Time Machine. Should I maybe turn Time Machine off in case it is trying to do 2 things at the same time and doesn't like it?

I have the same problem and apple needs to fix this - but in the mean time you can manually select the vertical photos then "import - import selected" and you can get your verticals. We need a better fix. THIS IS A BUG!

HP Support Assistant not responding: Red Exclamation Mark+ Important action needed

I am using HP PC model Phoenix H9 1325in with windows 8. HP support icon is showing red exclamation mark with a message Important action needed but when I click nothing works and no options are given. Next button is not working.
How to resolve this issue? Please help.

My cable Box has a red exclamation mark.

Two days ago my cable box just turned off by itself but the power button light was still on but now it also had a red exclamation mark on the front of the box. I tried taking out of the socket for a few hours and it didn't fix it, can someone help me with this issue please.

Use your remote and under menu, find 'check/fix set top box errors'. (or something like that).

Form information replaced with red exclamation marks?

I received responses to my form. So I clicked detail view then selected print. When I did this all the information was replaced with a red exclamation mark. What happened and how can I now retrieve the missing information that had been submitted?

Can you please recall if you did a deleting operation on a required column?
Now you can try to retrieve the missing information from history bar. You can open the history bar by clicking "History" button at the lower right corner of FormCentral and select a time node which including the missing information.

If it's a text box it means the text has overflowed the boundries of the box. Check for line returns which won't be visible but will trigger the warning.

When sending multiple MMS messages is there a limit to how many you can send in a group? My iphone4 will not let me send more than 10. My 3gs I was able to send over 20 MMS messages at one time. when I try on this phone I get the red exclamation mark!!

When sending text messags from my iphone4 it will only allow me to send to no more that 10 contacrs at a time. On my 3GS I was able to sendto well over 20 contacts at once. When I try to send on this iphone 4 all I get is the red exclamation mark and a message saying message not send and to try again. Is there something wrong with the way I have my setting? I use this feature alot so I am really trying to figure it out. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I understand that the limit is 10 people when sending MMS messages. However there is a much higher limit for SMS messages.
If they would suit your needs, try disable the switch for "MMS messaging" on the Messages page of the Settings app.

I have a software update to airport utility 6 but I get an error message and a red exclamation mark in my software update.

I tried several time to install the airport utility 6.0 but it will not install.
Every time i get an error message with a red exclamation mark.
I even tried to install the 5.4 utility but then I get the same error message.

I had to reinstall Lion, that solved the problem but it was a **** of a job.

In the iPhoto preferences you can set Apple Mail as your e-mail client and then it will work exactly as before

Red Exclamation Mark

I created a php file that is working well. However, the
Insert Record statement in the "Server Behaviors" tab has a red
exclamation mark in front of it. What does the exclamation mark
signify?

That there is something missing from the behavior. If you
double click on the server behavior with exclamtion point it will
give dialog box and you can adjust anything that might be causing
the exclamation point. If your page is working properly though it
isn't a big deal to worry about.

Log and Transfer: Red exclamation points are attacking our project!

We are shooting a documentary with a HVX and a Firestore in 720p/24p. Every shoot, we move the files from the Firestore to the hard drive. We then log and transfer off of the drive to a G-Raid scratch disk.
Up until the other day, we were having no problems "logging and transferring". For some reason, we are now able to play and label the clip, but when we go to "add clip to queue" a red exclamation point keeps coming up.
This is inclusive of old and new footage. I have tried to change the length of the file names as well as restart Final Cut as well as the drives.
I know you guys are much smarter than we are, so we are looking forward to your wisdom.

#36 - One or More P2 files failed to import.
Shane's Stock Answer #36 - "One or more clips failed to import..."
Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.
What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.
ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.
ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.

You might try to place your SIM-card into another phone and check whether it works. If it doesn't, you'd be recommended to contact your service provider. If it does, your iPhone most probably doesn't "remember" your provider's SMSC. It can be added by opening the Phone-App and typing *5005*7672*[SMSC OF YOUR SP]#.
You should quickly be able to find your SP's SMSC on the internet.

I can't send texts to some contacts in my iphone 4s. This is a recent problem, as previously all texts would send. The red exclamation mark appears and 'not 'delivered' shows on screen.

I know for a fact that my number is not blocked by the receipients?

I've just realised, further to my earlier question - that the people I am trying to text do not have Iphones? Could this make a difference? (Although I have text them in the past)
