Log Viewer Error In MII 12.1

Hi All,
I am getting an error in log viewer in SAP MII 12.1 version(Netweaver 7.1).
When I am tring to open the log viewer ,It is giving the error Connection refuse.
Please do let me know if someone know anything about issue.

Error when trying to use the Log Viewer

Hello experts, today I wanted to examine some logs using the Log Viewer on Visual Administrator. However, when clicking on this service, the Visual Administrator would freeze for a long while and after that, an error message was displayed. I do not remember the exact message, but it was something like "A fatal error occurred. For more information, click on the Details button". Hello, thanks for your answers. I checked the JVM Heap size, we are using a 64 bit HW, and it was already set to 2048M, as well as both parameters Xms and Xmx. I also checked our virtual memory and directory space, the virtual memory looks fine, and the <SID> directory uses 5 GB of space.
If you wish, I can write the configuration found on the Config Tool, where you set the JVM Heap size and other parameters.

Event in "view error log"

I am using sun web proxy server 4.0.3 for windows (windows 2000). I used 4.0.2 but I have got some problems with cpu usage (process usage 100 %...).
We are using Etrust Antivirus and recently I have got some problems when I am downloading new signature. Sometimes I can download new signature sometimes not.
In Server status, view error log, I have severals :

ftpav.ca.com is from where i'm downloading new signature.

I have the same problem with ftp. If I try to download the same file several times with help of ftp proxy, after third or fourth retry proxy rejects my connections.
It writes the same line in error log, and file is not accessible anymore.

JCo Error in Mii 12.1.4

I am having problems with JCo in Mii 12.1.4. When the JCo Function builds the Output XML structure properly but does not build the Input Structure at all. When I look at the Log Viewer I see this error:
JCO Proxy Error: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML character is specified.
[EXCEPTION]
org.w3c.dom.DOMException: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML character is specified.
If I try to use JRA the Input and Output structures are generated correctly. In this case the same message is inserted into the log but only as a warning.
What is going on here? Can someone please help?

We are calling a custom BAPI. I had the ABAP developer change one of the inputs in ABAP function module from a table to a flat structure and it is now working. Very strange, indeed.
The input table contained only one field with a length of 2 characters.

How to log in to SAP MII by using a custom xApp?

Hi there,
I'm developing a custom xApp with a context root of /mycustomapp
I use some security contraints for it so the user has to log in to view the xApp.
As I use some MII services the user has to be logged in to SAP MII, too. However, logging in to SAP NetWeaver doesn't automatically sign in the user to SAP MII, too.
Is it possible at all?
Accessing /mycustomapp leads to a login mask, but the user should be logged in to SAP MII, too.

When logging on Log Viewer, it shows de error message: Unable to invoke LogControllerFacadeMBean method:"getMetaDataOfReaders" In J2EE Visual Admin the error message after click in the item Log Viewer is Error while loading service Log Viewer
When I click in defaultTrace.trc nothing appears. The same for the others log archives listed in Log Viewer.
Can someone help me with this?

Make sure that you are using a supported JDK version as per note below:

I did what Prabhu told me..But i recovered using backup controlfile and when i was asked to apply logs..i applied my oldest logs and it worked
Like i have two groups with two members each
I applied log1a.dbf and it said media recovery completee
I opened the database But then it started giving me errors for undo tablespace
I made another undo tablespace..tried dropping the old one but it did not permitted as it had some segments with status "needs recovery"
Than i added this parameter in pfile with the correupted segment and than tried to drop the segment but it still did not permit
corruptedrollback_segments =(corrupted_undo segment_name)
Next what i did was I mounted the database, ran another session of media recovery and opened the databse using resetlogs
Than i dropped the old undo and it went through successfully..
If you think anything i did wrong than please advice..
I hope this action plans helps you in case you come across same errors some day
I would be very thankful if you can refer me a document of recovery which covers all kinds of recoveries and scenarios and commands too

Log Viewer not working

Hi Guys,
I'm hitting error (RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILTURE) when i access MSS Team Calendar from the Portal. I'm trying to access the log files (defaultTrace.trc in the Log Viewer of the Visual Administrator) to try to find the error but it does not seem to capture it. ANyone has any idea why?

SAP NW 7.3 Application Server Java: Not able to open log viewer

Hi Experts,
I am facing this strange error in the NW 7.3 AS Java hence not able to see the logs. I tried to open the logs from nwa/logs and from troubleshooting --> logs and traces as well. Not sure whats wrong.

Hi Satish,
I can see the logs from OS level but that is restricted only to administrative use not all the users of server have os level access. I updated the LM CORE and CORE Tools component to NW 7.3 SP03 however, it did not help. I am posting the log as follows

I'm trying from inside session management to view query's log but I get this Error
Log Could Not Be Retrieved
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).

State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43100] Log Viewer process reported error 0:. (HY000)
My server runs SuSE 9 Enterprise Linux.
Any ideas?

Just to check your user has got logging level set to 2 or higher so that the SQL is being sent to the file?

We have problems working with the Visual Administrator -> Log Viewer
tool.
excuting the Visual Administrator -> F:\usr\sap\<SID>\J(XXX)\j2ee\admin>go.bat
Login with the user Administrator.
Click On: Cluster -> PEP -> Server X X_XXXXX -> Services -> Log Viewer.
Them you get the following error:
Unable To Obtain a Valid Configuration ->
com.sapmarkets.bam.util.BAMRuntimeException
The Problem is in all our Portals System Landscape: DEV, QA, PRD.

We solved the problem. You have to deleted the old archive files. **J2ee/Cluster/Server<n>/log/archive.
Them the Log Viewer works.

Log File Error when open MDS_Log from MDM Console

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem when I tried to open MDS_Log file from MDM Console. The error message was showing as below:
Log File Error
Problems in the log file prevent Console from displaying its contents. To view log contents, open the log file in a seperate text editor.
Could any of you advise me how to open the log in a seperate text editor from MDM console ?

Just right click on record pane of log node and select save .it will sav to user defined location in .csv format.
