Logged in no matter what
Hi.
My friend apperars online all the time but are not.
She even changed password and still online after logging out but it says all logged in on other places will be logged out.
When sending message they goes through always.
When calling it rings short then silence for a while then either i can leave a voice message and a voice tells me unavailable or it just ends.
It's really crazy. I'm the only contact person my friend has and it says 1 person.
When logg in for real all works as usual.
I installed skype on my cell and at the same time I had skype on my pc on. Then all the messages was synced to my cell but not the profile photo or status message of my friend. And not the calls we made to eachother.
I have done that before on other devices and then it has synced profile photo and everything.
She is on a laptop and Windows 7.
Her pc is totally shut down when she's logged out.
Not on stand by.
She have not used any other place to logg in except her Iphone. But its also logged out. Even when all devices is shut down she's logged in and I can send messages that goes through.
Please give me an explanation because this is driving us insane.
And anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!
Two things to try to see if iphoto stops crashing.
1. From your preferences directory drag com.apple.iPhoto.plist to your desktop and loaunch iphoto to see if it fixes your problem. I'm a little leary of doing this since all your iphoto preferences will be recreated from scratch. So if this experiment doesn't work replace the recreated one in Preferences with the old original one you dragged on to your desktop.
2. Boot in safe mode. Play with iphoto a little bit to see if it fails. Whether it fails or not reboot normally. Safe mode will suppress all third party additions, your login items, as well as doing a little bit of cleaning (e.g., some caches). So it will be interesting to know if iphoto runs in safe mode and then after rebooting normally.

Data Services 4.0 Designer. Job Execution but empty log file no matter what
Hi all,
am running DS 4.0. When i execute my batch_job via designer, log window pops up but is blank. i.e. cannot see any trace messages.
doesn't matter if i select "Print all trace messages" in execution properties.
Jobserver is running on a seperate server. The only thing i have locally is just my designer.
if i log into the Data Services management console and select the job server, i can see trace and error logs from the job. So i guess what i need is for this stuff to show up in my designer?
Did i miss a step somewhere?
can't find anything in docs about this.
thanks

I have a smart kid that uses computer, he gets on to web sites but it doesnt save his passwords so i can see what he is doing. He might be using private browsing or saying never remember password. I went into custom settings and said always remember. It still asks so you can say no do not remember. I set master password too. What can i do?
anyone?
even if the answer is NO: u can't browse with private browsing in a new window because mozilla have though this will be too much freedom..... then at least it would be good to know!
thanks -
It seized during a gmail session and nothing I tried would unseize it. I powered down and unpugged. At restart, everything seemed normal, but I got stopped at the login screen when nothing responded. Any suggestions on what I should try next?
Hi KentR,
Hows it going?
When you say your computer is not responding, can you move the cursor by moving the mouse? If you try pressing volume up, do you hear a sound? Are you using wireless keyboard and mouse ? Or are you using a wired keyboard and mouse? -
On my iPhone no matter what i always get a message "Your Apple ID has been disabled" even though i can log on on my laptop...
That won't help. You need to contact iTunes support so they can re-enable your account. They only work via email or live chat: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

If you can, you might be able to sign into Game Center from a app that supports it. -

No matter what wi-fi I'm connected to or browser I'm using, webpages take forever to load or they never load at all. Other computers do not have any problems. How can i fix this?
I've tried safari, chrome, firefox...I've cleared the cache as well. This has been going on for several months and used to be tolerable as it was not every website. Now it has become every website and is impossible to deal with. My roommates computer and my cell phone connect fine. I'm fully connected to the router yet websites don't load. I'm using 10.7.5. Thank you!!Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I've tried resetting the password that doesn't work no matter what I try
I wish I had an answer, but the same thing is happening to me. Can I go back to the old version of Digital Editions, please? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Update: While I didn't answer the question above, I did manage to fix my problem. Here is the background: My old Nook was a Nook Color, which, while it was greatly loved and semi-intelligent, it wasn't a tablet. When I connected it to my computer, it was recognized as a device and showed up in Digital Editions. My library uses Overdrive to handle the borrowing and download/reading functions. When you borrow a book, you downloaded it to your computer, opened it in Digital Editions, and then did a "drag and drop" into your Nook. I had assumed that when I got my new Samsung Galaxy Tab Nook, it would work the same way. I had not adjusted my thinking to realize that the Tab is a true computer with an operating system (Android) such as that on my laptop. I was trying to fix the problem with the DRM authorization using every other ePub reader that I could find (installing the app and then attempting to open the book) and nothing worked. I finally got a message that clicked saying "You do not have rights to open this book" rather than the unhelpful message that I got from Digital Editions saying "Error! Check Authorization". I looked at my library's website and caught the notification that Overdrive has an app. I downloaded and installed it, connected to my library, logged in using my library card number and everything was there. Now, instead of downloading to my laptop and then moving the book to my Nook, I directly connect to my library's website and download the book to my Galaxy Tab. I could read directly in my browser (provided I was connected to the internet) but downloading ensures that I can read the book in any situation.
This absolutely does not fix the problem in the question above, nor does it answer why my old method worked for exactly two and a half books and then stopped working, but at least I learned something and I have a solution that means my Galaxy Tab can be used for the primary function of my old Nook, that of packing library books with me no matter where I am in a lightweight, easily read format. -

Log Message:
Splitting DefineFont into the various DefineFont 1, 2, 3, etc SWF tag formats but retaining a common base DefineFont class so that embedded fonts are still retained as symbols for the SWF dictionary no matter what version of the SWF tag is used.
Also improving [Embed] so that it can recognize .TTC files as assets (previously these were only recognized through CSS @font-face rules).
QE: Yes, please add a test case for using [Embed] to embed fonts from a TTC file in addition to our tests for @font-face. Note that the AFEFontManager must be configured for this scenario.

Dictation capitalizes every word after a comma, no matter what.
Dictation capitalizes every word after a comma, no matter what. For instance: "I am a man, But not an old man." Any setting to change that could stop this?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. -
No matter what tool I choose, all I get is a hand cursor
I recently installed Photoshop CS4 and didn't have any problems with the installation. However, quite frequently the program gets into a mode where no matter what tool I choose all I get is a hand cursor. I've tried logging off to correct the problem, but that doesn't work. Rebooting the computer is normally sufficient. I haven't determined any specific actions that always cause this circumstance to arise. Does anyone have any ideas on what my problme might be?
BTW, I'm running on Windows XP Pro, 32-bit, with 3.5 GB of memory and a 2GHz dual-core cpu.
Thanks. This is my expereince as well. I've never seen the problem in any other application and I've been using Photoshop for over 15 years, and this is the first version that I've encountered this problem. And like you, when I switch to any other program the mouse and keyboard work just fine, so it is not a physical keyboard problem.
But, if hitting the space bar a few times solves the problem, then I'm happy for now.
Thanks all.

I already deleted the mobilesync folder, deleted some of my apps to make free space (11gb of free space now), restarted the ipad, my macbook, and attempted many of the so called "solutions" and still got nothing. My device is not jailbroken, is running 4.2.1 and my itunes is 10.2.2. Cant seem to backup no matter what.
Any (other) ideas how to fix this?
Thank youThen I assume that you read the link that Carolyn posted and tried to log in on the Mac with a different user account and that didn't work. I've Googled this over and over for some time tonight and I'm sure you have as well and can come up with nothing else.
Did you try Settings>Reset>Reset All Settings? Not sure that would help at all but that sticks out from my reading tonight somewhere. If you do that - reboot your iPad before you try to backup again.
I wish I had another idea for you but I am down to thinking try Express Lane Support. I would hesitate to restore because you have no backup to restore from and you would have to go back to factory settings. Express Lane couldn't hurt but I'm not sure they would help either. If you've had the iPad for less than 90 days you can get free phone support from Apple. If you are close to an Apple Store an appointment at the Genius Bar might be a good idea as well.
Quick Edit - the other poster solved his issue by reading that link in the thread that I gave you. I know you said you read the thread but did you go to the link, read the article and try those steps?

No matter what, I cant get the Device Selector to become active in Netbeans
This is totally frustrating. For the life of me, I cannot get the Device Selector to work
On my Development machine
I've installed all the prerequisites for Java ME SDK 3.3 EA (Early Access) using Raspberry Pi.
Windows 7,
Netbeans 7.3 full bundle with support for ME
Jave ME SDK 3.3 preview
The device address manager is set up
the nb-me-sdk-plugins-uc plugins have all been installed
the j2me platform has been installed under the "Java Platform Manager"
the customer device editor has been set up to simulate my raspberry pi exactly as in the video below
under Installed Plugins, Java ME is active
On my Raspberry Pi
Java ME 3.3 is on my Raspberry Pi
I can run the testuser.sh program
I'm trying to follow along on the Oracle video by Simon Ritter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA7AMuTK9sE&feature=youtu.be
No matter what I do, I cannot get Tools->Java ME->Device Selector
or Tools->Java ME->Active Device Manager to become active.
I've spent the better part of the day trying to figure this out, and I've had no luck. What am I missing?
Vinnie
Edited by: vdipren on May 25, 2013 7:27 PMHello Alexander,
I also tried to install netbeans and Java Me, and got stuck on the same problem as Vinnie: the menu item `Device Selector` is grayed besides most other items in the same menu.
The grayed menu items in menu Netbeans/Tools/Java ME are:
WMA Console,
Java ME SDK Update Center,
Custom Device Skin Creator
Active Device Manager
The only one that is not grayed is: 'Device Database Search'.
I made sure the device_manager is running. You asked Vinnie to run emulator.exe from the commandline. I did and it outputs the help instructions.
I like to provide you with the log files, but how to do that? They are quite big! Dou you want me to paste the contens of the files in here?
Thanks for giving it your time.

Comment off line 274 in the mirrorlist and the next uncommented line is the problem, no matter what I'm trying to install or remove.I'm new to arch and pacman, but I've been a linux user for years. I installed archlinux a week or two ago and I have been adding and deleting various packages with pacman with no issues until today.
I won't waste space here with the entire mirrorlist, but here is an example line where the error occurs of the line is uncommented...
#Server = http://mirrors.xmission.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
and here is the /etc/pacman.conf file...
# /etc/pacman.conf
