Logged into iChat, but buddy list isnt showing up.

Yesterday night, March 10, I logged onto iChat and my buddy list didn't show up. So i restarted my computer and nothing happened. Still no buddy list. I logged on to AIM and i got my buddy list to load. So is there anything i can do to get my buddy list to load on iChat? I've tried everything i can, yet nothing works. Everyone just appears offline and even the AIM Bots won't load.

Before we list everything you have already tried can you list what that actually is please ?
Have you checked the iChat Block List ?
Have you changed the setting from what it is to something else and back again to write it to the .plist ?
Have you tried deleting the .plist
Have you tried the one where you delete your Screen Name from the iChat Accounts section and then re-add it ?

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

I can log into yahoo but when I click mail I get a message saying that firefox can't find my address and asking me to check the spelling. Even plugging in the right address doesn't work though my wife can log into her email just fine.

Ever since removing and updating Adobe Flash Player I suddenly cannot get my Yahoo email page to come up with Mozilla 4.0 or 3.6. I can log into yahoo but when I click on Mail from the welcome page I get an error message saying that it cannot find the email address and asking me to check the spelling. I have tried removing and redownloading 4.0 and 3.6. Same problem. With other browsers--Opera, Chrome, and Safari--I don't have this problem. Please help me solve this problem as Mozilla is my default browser.

Someone having the problem, but when he upgrade Java runtime, his poblem was fixed, make sure your JRE has been up to date?

How do I log into iChat if my iCloud is set up through my personal email?

I have an iCloud account through a personal email address, but when I log into iChat on my Mac it asks me for an AIM, @mac.com, or @me.com address? Help?

I have an Apple ID that is a email from an Dial up service I once used.
(actually I can still download mail from this service but cannot send unless I login using Dial up)
When iCloud came out I linked this to iCloud and was given an @me.com ID as well.
Later Apple changed these to @icloud.com and I got one of those as well.
For iTunes, Logging here to post or accessing iCloud in a Browser I can use anyone of on the three "names" but with one common password.
In Messages or iChat though this Apple ID does not work.
It has to be one of the ones Issued by Apple.
Changes in iChat 6 and the two Messages version in Mountain Lion and Mavericks that use a Login to Apple as well as AIM to Verify things before AIM is allowed to "read" the Password means the later IDs issued under iCloud will not work in iChat 5 or earlier.
@mac.com names issued under the .Mac service or as "iChat Names" during the MobileMe period will still work in any version.
If you have the @me.com or @icloud.com IDs use those (even if it says @me.com on the setting in iChat)
Add the ID in full to the AIM setting option.
If you don't then Register a name at AIM.

I am using a Dell Vostro 3400, with 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit Ultimate OS. ITunes version 10.5? (Latest)
What I have tried:
Uninstalled iTunes,
Removed firewall and protection.
Re-installed iTunes 64bit (still get the same issue)
Restarted firewall, added apple.com etc.
I have created a new user profile to no vail.
Still the same issue. I can access using my iPod

I can't log into iChat?

I had my logic board replaced recently and i'm not sure if it has anything to do with it but i can no longer log into ichat...
I am getting messages saying that my info is wrong and i am going into the preferences and changing it, but to no avail...
please help?! I use it to talk to my work colleagues when i'm overseas so it's pretty important!

Your specs say OS X 10.6.8 which means you should have iChat 5.0.3
Can you confirm you have this version ?
Go to the Application Folder and highlight iChat then use the File Menu of the Finder > Get Info (Or the Keystrokes)
What sort of name are you trying to Login ?
AN @mac.com Name should be valid (With AIM) but Apple will allow you to create a password longer than the 16 characters that the AIM server can deal with.
IF you have changed or linked an Apple ID to an iCloud ID and are trying the new iCloud version (@me.com) this will not work in iChat 5 or Earlier.
iChat 6 and Messages in Mountain Lion also log in to me.com that allows the AIM server to then "See" the password. iChat 5 does not have this dual Login and the names will not work. (you would normally get a pop up alert messages about either the name or Password being "wrong")
There are some reports that @mac.com names that have been used by people on trips abroad have been Suspended by AIM (Unusual Activity)
Go here and Sign in https://settings.aim.com/ and it will tell you (iCloud Names can't login here either)

No. An in-app purchase can only be made through the same iTunes Store account that the game was originally purchased through and will be linked only to that account. Receipts will be mailed only to the email address associated with that Apple ID. What Game Center account the game is linked to will be, to the best of my knowledge, irrelevant.

You have to log in iCloud on an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Mac first before being able to use iCloud on your PC. See > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The work offline option can be found from Firefox button -> Web developer or from the menubar toolbar -> Work offline (Or at least thats what happens in Windows).
Have you any other reason for being offline; router off, firefox not dialing up or whatever. Or is security software or a firewall blocking firefox, or a network connection, or firefox setting etc set wrongly.

Your music will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup cop of your computer.
Certainly you did not have our computer serviced without making sure your backup copy was up to date.

No matter what I do. I cannot log into iChat. Everytime it asks me for my password. I type it in correctly. & It says inncorret. Also when i try to make a new account. It says the same thing. Someone please help me. Thank you

If you are using an @Mac.com name or an @Me.com name the password needs to be 16 characters or less to work with the AIM servers.
iCloud names (@me.com) cannot be used in iChat 5 or earlier.
(AIM cannot access the password as iChat 6 and Messages login to me.com as well that lets AIM see the password)

When I log into ichat it always says "ichat was unable to login to AOL instant messenger because your screen name or pasword was incorrect." I dont understand, when I created the account it never said any thing about AOL accounts. I've tried entering my apple account username and password, and I've also tried creating an AOL account. Neither of which have worked

You can use an AIM (Or AOL) as AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger.
Apple have an agreement with AIM that @Mac.com and Mobileme/iCloud (*@me.com) Names are also valid AIM Screen Names.
However the Passwords must be kept to 16 characters or less due to the limits on the AIM servers.
Other Apple IDs are not Valid Screen Names unless you specifically Register them with AIM - OR they belong to another Service which iChat can access and are valid as Chat names with that Service.
