When will this get fixed?

Excuse me instead of quote I should have said Paraphrase

First of all, until 10 minutes ago you didn't quote anything. Quoting is to repeat verbatim what somebody else has said or written. I have no objection against being quoted (attribution appreciated), but just quote me and don't provide your interpretation as if they were my words.
Now, let's analyze in detail what was written. First what I wrote:
Jive is on a release train model where a back to back fix / enhancement takes 9 to 12 weeks and Adobe is currently on a twice a year update cycle. Even if everything is scheduled immediately it may take 9 months for fixes to become visible.
Then what you wrote:
that the combination Adobe's upgrade cycle, and Jive's it will be about 9 months before the next upgrade.
So I am providing three timelines:
1. Jive takes 9 to 12 weeks for individual fixes.
2.  Adobe currently updates twice a year.
3. Fixes may take 9 months if we add up the time for Jive and Adobe.
"So at no point did I write that the time until the next upgrade was to be about 9 months. Individual fixes may take that long, but all I said about updates is that Adobe currently updates twice a year. The extrapolation from 9 months for individual fixes to an update in 9 months is yours. And if you wish to ignoring that we are well into an update cycle already that is fine, but don't claim that that information comes from me."
"If you can't paraphrase me correctly, quote me."
still you did say it may take 9 months for fixes become visible.  which does appear from your calulations 12 weeks = 3 months, and twice yearly (for adobe) = 6 months
My appologies for my slight misquote/paraphrase.

Can't you guys fix this crap. or is this going to take a year or more because Adobe is cheap and won't pay for the upgrade?
Why can't we just stay logged in all the time.

Sorry, but it was the best I could do at the time. Besides, I did comply with the request! (You have to be specific with things you know )
I'm confused. I thought that was the purpose of this forum? To post lame stuff. Like continually reporting that the forums stink and are slower than molasses and how Adobe doesn't care and all that. Yet day after day after day I see the same posts by the same folks saying the same things all the while using the software they are complaining about.
If I've said it once... I've said it!
I'm sure our fine Adobe hosts would like to see that policy adopted. Report something once. Step away. Give them time to address the issue. When you see a report that the forums software has been upgraded, try again. If the issue is still present, report again. But it really doesn't help anything to report something over and over does it? Kind of like if your boss asked if a report was ready. Does it help if the boss steps in every two minutes to ask? It hinders the process, no?
After all, you can press an elevator button a thousand times, but it won't make it arrive at your floor any faster.

  • Please Help... i lost my macbook and there are so many accounts that haven't been logged out yet. how can i block my old macbook? (block from everything)

There are so many accounts that haven't been logged out yet. how can i block my old macbook? (block from everything like it cant be used at all again)

It should be unnecessary to point out that leaving one's computer logged into anything that requires security is foolhardy. The reason there's a login process is so you will have the opportunity to log out and thereby secure your account. Failing to do so completely defeats the purpose and leaves you wide open to catastrophic consequences.

  • I use webmail on Firefox, but it frequently opens a new email as blank, & I have to log out & start again.

This is a fairly recent problem. When I log in and try to open a new email, it takes a long time to load, & then opens blank. The only way I can read it is to log out & start again; at which point the email shows as already read.

You should create a new one and try it out, if it doesn't help you can always go back.

Well, no..... I wasn't thinking they had a "motive" for not fixing the problem.... that question was somewhat rhetorical. To me, to say that Adobe's "motives" are involved means that they could fix the problem, but for some reason choose not to.
Of course they can fix it. If all else fails by reducing the timeout
on a cookie so people get logged out before they post a reply, after
they post a reply, but not while posting a reply.
I was wondering about the technical reason , which is a little different.
Cookies are well understood. If you want to set a cookie with properties
X, Y and Z, there is no technical reason why Adobe's SSO platform
shouldn't be able to do so.
You are then, saying, that they have a motivation for not fixing the problem, instead of there being a technical reason?
Nice try. I am saying that if they are not fixing the problem and they
had told me their motives under NDA, I would not tell you.

  • ACR: .dng .jpg   How to prevent highlights from blowing out yet again?

How can a .dng in ACR be "Saved As" a .jpg without the .jpg process blowing out the highlights all over again?
The affected images have to be tweaked yet again in ACR.

    All  together now: Sigh.
I'm sighing, but not because CS4 is missing any functionality.
The point behind the little suggested workflow I listed above was that you do your color balancing, exposure, cropping, etc. in the Camera Raw tool and it stores metadata associated with each raw DNG file.  Then you open that file through Camera Raw and use it for publication via whatever process you want.
Save images directly as JPEG from Camera Raw (if the sizes it offers are good for you).
Save images through the Image Processor, which automates some simple processing tasks for you (e.g., resizing).
Open individual images into Photoshop to post-process them (e.g., retouching a particular portrait or something).
The key here is that Camera Raw provides the same developing settings however you (re)open the raw file for each subsequent use.
If in light of all this you still DO want to save an intermediate file for later use, may I suggest .PSD format as that is a lossless format. Consider also saving in 16 bits/channel and ProPhoto RGB color space.
Lightroom is a possible alternative, as it's highly optimized for flushing a large number of images through a workflow pipeline, though I don't need/use it because my digital darkroom activity is more along the lines of individual edits rather than production work.

  • Logs out of SAP while pressing function key

    Hi Experts,
I'am facing a very peculier type of problem from SAP operation point of view. Whenever I am pressing F8 or clicking on <execute> button or click on Help Document related SAP Customisation, all the SAP open windows are closing automatically and I need to log into SAP again. I've reinstalled GUI, checked all the necessary settings of my Laptop, but no reasult. Does anyone got a solution for this?
    Thanks in  advance/

    Hi,
FM "MCV_STATISTICS_ORDER"  accepts and returns many table parameters. So I guess you are calling
the function and assigning these table values which FM returns to your internal table.
If possible show how you call the function and which internal table gets filled.

  • Scess value field is grey out in MIGO while posting rejection excise invoic

    HI..
In Return delivery ,i am capturing & posting excise invoice...
The problem is while we can change the values of BED,AED,ECS but the SCESS field is coming grey out. Therefore i cannot change it.
How can we remove the grey out so that we can enter manually whatever amount we have credited.
here the print program is made considering in MIGO we can capture/post excise invoice..
    plz reply fast.
    Thanx & regards,
    Satpal

When it is return delivery tranaction and if you don't select no excise entry system by default captures all data from original document except quantity field and hence all the fileds will be non modifiable. However it is better to select 'No Excise Entry" at the time of Return Delivery and then go for "create excise invoice for other movements" T Code "J1IS" so that you could enter all the duties correct based on the qty rejected in return delivery.
    Hope it would suits you.
    Cheers

  • They're Back - The Slowdowns, Log-outs and Server Issues

Well, Jan. 11, 2011, starting about 9:00AM -8 GMT, I have been logged-out with almost every post, or even just viewing a thread. Half of the time, the server appears to be dead, and I get bounced to either Adobe.com, or to the main Forum page, from the product forum. Loading of any page, or uploading any post/reply takes seemingly forever.
Hope that it's just some server maintenance?

  • I have not logged out in years. How can I check to see if I remember my password is correct?

Appologies to all who tried to answer my previous attempts at this question.  I have not logged off in years bc I was affraid I didn't remember my "log out password".  I never wrote it down. I never saved it in key chain.  I have a good idea what it is and want to prove it before I use the log out feature again.  Is there a way to do that?  I have gone into System Preferences > Accounts and tried to change password and was successful. Is that the same as the logout password?

If you are still concerned Raymond, open Keychain Access. It is in your Mac's Utilities folder.
Click the "login" Keychain as in the above screenshot. Then click the lock icon at the upper left. If it is already unlocked, it will lock your Keychain.
Click it again to unlock it. It will then ask for your password:
Type in the password you used in System Preferences and click OK.
If the lock icon unlocks, you just proved your login password is correct and identical to your Keychain password, as it normally is. Then you can stop worrying about this and start worrying about the Mayan Apocalypse in a couple of days.

  • 10.5.8 Hangs on Log-Out on iBook G4

    Problem started using this strategy
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9952610#9952610
Problem occurs in 10.5.8 when I log-out/log-in between the two accounts on the machine. After going back and forth two or three times log-out hangs. Log-out usually goes to Log-in screen quickly when it doesn't hang.
I've been Googling for an hour and have seen a number of discussions re Leopard and this issue; however, no definitive solution.
To be clear: iBook G4 was running 10.4.11, upgraded to 10.5.6 using DVD then using the comboUpd dmg updated to 10.5.8. Note, I did repair permission before running the comboUpd.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers.

Do you have an external usb device connected when you logged out?
I had the same encounter. I had to cold restart my Macbook. But according to my Windows knowledge, I have figured that the external usb hard drive is the culprit. For a second time and with curiousity I logged out after I remove my usb hub with a hard drive to it. The log out seemed quite normal then. The usb mouse didn't cause any problem.
So my advice: remove the usb hard drive before you log out or sleep.

  • Setting log out at shut down?

I'm wondering if there is a way to have my MacBook shutdown at logout or logout at shutdown. When I shutdown, the computer is accessible to anyone at startup. When I logout, I can't shutdown without allowing restart of the computer with full access. Thanks for your help.
    Mike

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
In the Accounts System Preferences, click the "Login Options" under the list of users. (You may need to put in your password to do this.) Uncheck the option to "Automatically log in as:". After this, you will need to put your password in to log in each time after you startup.
You can also check an option in the Security System Preferences to require a password to disable the screen saver or wake from sleep. Then, each time you close and open the MacBook, it will ask you for your password. That might save you from logging out sometimes.
