Logging into the Internet from Airport Extreme.
Hi everyone.
I have a small problem with my internet connection.
I have a Motorola SB5101 cable modem provided by Telstra Australia to get on their Bigpond network. To that I have my Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS) connected. I can get several machines connected to the internet with this setup, using NAT and DHCP on the AEBS. The problem I'm having is that I need at least one computer to login using Bigpond's login software.
I was wondering if there's anyway to set up the AEBS to do this, as this seems the logical place for a login script to work, all machines go through it, get on to the internet via the cable modem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I cannot find a login script for Bigpond for the wireless networks. A call to Telstra advised that I might be able to find some login software in their file library on the website but I can't find the file library or navigate easily their frustrating website.
If any one has any suggestions I'd also be grateful.

I cant log into the icloud from my laptop. Its running Vista 32bit, with service pack 2. The icloud is 2.1.3 for vista.
I enter the log in details and password, and then the 'daisy wheel' comes up, and that's as far as it goes!!
I know the log in details are all correct as I use itunes match on ipad and iphone. I can also share photos between iphone and ipad without an issue.
The Apple store weren't any help (Bath) as its not a Apple laptop!!

If you really apple customer you can find your original receipt and or request a copy and use it as proof to unlock phone. If you didn't purchase from Apple, you still have option to attempt
to look through your icloud accounts and verify that neither one is the one that you need. And if it is not your account and you didn't purchase directly from Apple then you are the victim of Apple's attempt to render stolen/lost phones useless, to bring down theft. Question if you deserve it is besides the point, but at the very least you should have learned to manage your apple/icloud id by now being a loyal apple customer you are... -
I can no longer connect to the internet via Airport Extreme. HELP!
Over the weekend my Macbook told me that my Airport extreme firmware needed to be updated, so I did that, now I have no internet connection from the Airport. I have no problem connecting to the Airport itself, but I have no actual internet connection. The connection is fine when I plug an ethernet cable directly into the computer.

A few things to try.
Press the reset button once on the back of your Extreme and let it restart. Check for proper operation.
If no help there, keep the ethernet cable connected, and open Airport Utility. Click on Manual Setup near the bottom of the pane. On the next screen click the Airport icon at the upper left of the pane, then click Wireless in the line just below that reads Summary - Time Capsule - Wireless - Access.
Check to see that your wireless is set up, security set up, passwords, etc. You may need to reconfigure your wireless settings again and update the Extreme to store them and restart.

Unable to Connect to the internet using airport extrteme
I am unable to connect to the internet using airport extreme It was working fine with my G3 & G4 iBooks but now I am unable to connect. I am able to connect directly to my Desktop connecting directly using ethernet. I am also receiving a strong signal from the airport base station. Please help. Thank you.
Try the following, in order, until resolved:
1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
Modem/Router Power Recycling - Quick
o Power-off the modem, AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS), & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBS; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the computer(s)
If this fails to get the modem to "recognize" the Internet router, then try the "Full" version.
Modem/Router Power ReCycling - Full
o Power-off the modem, AEBS, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBS; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the computer(s)
4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset." -
Desktop site logs into the mobile site on 7 and 10 tablets?
In the past few months I have noticed that every time I log into the community from a tablet (7 inch or a 10 inch), the login page loads the mobile site when I originally started with the desktop view. The only way I could prevent it is to set the check box "request desktop site" beforehand. Once I'm logged the desktop view will stay from the bookmark until I report the first post in a thread to the Moderators for review. If I don't have check box for desktop activated before, the report script loads the mobile site instead. This didn't used to happen. For most of the year since the last forum "update" the desktop view would load all the time on the tablets. If I wanted the mobile site, I would be reading the forum from my phone not my tablet. The 10 inch tablet would easily be able to use the desktop view effectively has it has a similar screen size to some of the smaller netbooks and chromebooks available. Yet this site loads the mobile site which is nowhere near as powerful or useful as the desktop view.
Has anyone else seen this behavior on the login switch or reporting posts?

Apparently they are willing to force all these **** changes on us and have us figure them out.
No one here (including me) apparently wants any of these new MOBILE 'hybrid' apps on our desktops and/or tablets - BUT WE SEEMINGLY HAVE NO CHOICE except to switch carriers.
This is why I have not renewed my multi-phone contract because my intent very soon is to bail for Sprint or T-Mobile - their coverage "IS GOOD ENOUGH" for us to use.
First, Verizon Fios forces this recent USER INTERFACE on us with the crappy colors that MANY people actually do believe is horrible. --- And next, they push this MOBILE interface on ALL OF US as if we ARE ALL DOPPIE teenagers without a full brain.
This kind of activity causes even more attrition, more folks leaving their subscriber base - what a waste. -
I have a iMac with a built in airport extreme card. Does the imac act as a wireless router so that I can connect to the internet from my iPad by tethering through my iMac?
Depends which iMac exactly and your network setup, you can go into System Preferences and under the Sharing pane you can enable internet sharing from ethernet (or whereever you get your internet from) to Wi-Fi.

I have accidentally "disconnected" from the Internet in Airport Utility. How do I reverse what I have done? I clicked on the globe and clicked where it said "connected" and now it says "disconnected" HELP!
markwmsn, In the Airport Utility on my iPad I clicked on the globe at the top of the screen and over to the side there was the word "Connected". I clicked on it and it changed to read "Disconnected". At that point I started having Internet connection problems. All of the extremes (2) and expresses (6) I have spread throughout my home at first were green, but then began to either turn yellow, like the globe had, or disappear from the screen. Even though the globe remained yellow I went through the house and reset all the other devices. I was sure the problems were caused by my clicking on the word " Connected" and changing it to " Disconnected". I clicked on "Disconnected", but nothing happened. I called and wrote my ISP to ask them to reset the server serving my home. I got a call few hours later telling me that there had been an outage in my area, so I began thinking that perhaps there had been a coincidental occurrence of me clicking "Connected" and there being a service outage in my area. Needless to say I've decided to never click that word again for fear of the problem really being my actions.
If you can shed light on any of this, I'd be grateful.

Thank you.Your question says that you want to prevent logging onto the internet...that is very easy to do, simply unplug the cable to your modem. Or turn the AirPort card off if you are using wireless.
If you are looking for software for another purpose, such as parental controls, that is a different topic and there are various ways of preventing unfettered access to the internet. -
Unable to log into the portal-After Upgrade from NetWeaver 7.0 to 7.3EHP1

Recently we upgraded the one of portal from NW 7.0 to NW 7.3EHP1 . Upgrade has been successfilly completed with small issue.
After upgrade all urls are working(/nwa, /sld) except /irj/portal.We know that NW 7.3 EHp1 accepts only ear file i.e we converted the our customized log on par file to ear file through par migration tool and the same was deployed successfully through NWDS 7.3 version.After deploying we are able to access the
/irj/portal url with our customized par(means ear file) without issues,

1)We are suspecting this issue is related to the theme issue.How to update the theme in the upgraded portal(have a backup of themes)

I have an original @mac.com email address and also use my address at [email protected]
I have no issues logging into iCloud account from my MacBook or accessing my account from my iPhone.
But anytime I try to log into the iCloud website from my work PC laptop, it tells me my Apple ID or password are incorrect. I try logging in with both address endings, @mac and @me and nothing.
Any ideas? Thanks!In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

I've searched and cannot seem to find any information as to what may be causing this, or even really where to start. Would someone be able to help me identify what might be causing this event, specific with the Exception code: 0xc0000024, which causes
the Group Policy Client service to stop?You still out there looking at things? If so I have an update. The issue hasn't stopped, even though it did seemingly die down for awhile, however, it is now back with a vengeance.
I am able to force it to happen by killing the svchost process that is hosting GPSVC. If I run gpupdate /force, then logout/login it does get GPSVC running again. Furthermore, if I simply start svchost again via the Task Manager GPSVC starts running again.
When I access the server remotely with KVM it acts just like it does as if I'm logging into it via Citrix/RDP which for Admin IDs gives an error saying "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service...",
however, normal user accounts just get a message when logging into the server "The Group Policy Client Service Failed the Logon. Access is denied."
I haven't opened a case with Microsoft yet, but we about ready to because of the increase in these errors.
If you have any further suggestions that would be great, otherwise I'll provide an update once I get word back from Microsoft.
**EDIT -- apparently I mistook the the server's SCM's actions as my own. I was able to successfully crash the GPSVC service by killing the hosting svchost process, however, after I crashed it and let it sit crashed for awhile when I attempted
to restart either by starting a svchost task, or running gpupdate /force it failed. Either that, or there is a timing issue where if we don't restart the svchost process, or run gpupdate /force quickly enough it won't be able to recover without a reboot. -

Do you know if this is true?That is mostly true. Some 802.11n routers, however, do not play well with different computers. The n standard is still in the draft stages and has been implemented differently in some routers. To ensure compatibility you may want to consider an Apple AirPort base station or Time Capsule. At the very least try out the router you are interested in with your MacBook for a couple of hours before you buy.
