Logging off mass users
Hello experts:
Is there a transaction or any way to kill users or end users sessions from one screen. I know that you can view users from SM04 or AL08 but these screens don't allow you to end users sessions.
Another way I have been killing or ending user sessions is by logging on to the production server using AL08 to see who is logged on under active instance. Than log on to the dialog servers using BRGUI using transaction SM04 and logging the user off. But I want to do this from one transaction and one screen.
Thanks for your help have a great weekend.
Billy
Such transaction is not existing - and in fact, I personally would never do that. You don´t know what the users are exactly doing and you will hardly interrupt their processing...
If it´s just one instance, why not shut it simply down?

Windows 8.1 Security Risk / Not able to log off a user
Hello Community,
First and foremost good morning, I hope everyone is having a good morning. I'm in dire need of a solution. The company I work for has four (4) standalone computers with Windows 8.1
which are located in a break room for, you guessed it, breaks! They are not on the domain but are on a workgroup. A former user from the company has one of these machines completely locked up. Here's what I mean:
When a user sits down at one of these computers they click on the account Breakroom1, Breakroom2, etc....up to 4 which lets them login. However, somehow a user has logged in with
an outlook account and there is absolutely no way for me to log this person out. I can't right click anywhere and get a logoff button. I can't right click on the red circle and get an option to log this person out. The only options I get
are restart, sleep, and shutdown. I've browsed through setup to see if there were any options to kick this person off. I'm completely stumped. I believe this to be a security risk because no one has been able to do anything about this.
I'm trying veryhard not to reimage this machine.
If anyone has any ideas I will gladly try them out and I thank everyone in advance for their time.
Respectfully,Hi Ricky ,
“somehow a user has logged in with an outlook account and there is absolutely no way for me to log this person out.”
Do you mean someone connect the Microsoft account with the local account and then the machine is locked now. You can`t get into the machine unless you know the Microsoft account`s password, right?
To solve this problem ,I am afraid you have to contact the Microsoft account`s owner firstly to unlock the account. To avoid this tiresome issue in the future, I recommend you take the following steps:
1.Log on the computer as an administrator
2.Run the gpedit.msc and look for the following group policy and set “Users can`t add or log on with Microsoft accounts”,
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Accounts: Block Microsoft accounts
3.Run gpupdate /force
4.I recommend you take this solution to the others` pcs in the Breakrooms .
Best regards -
Password not accepted when trying to log off another user
Sometimes I want to shut down while another user is logged in and it asks for admin password. I type in correct password and it says it is invald. Password works the rest of the time. Any suggestions?
found this on the internet. I'm going to try it now.
This might make more sense then the Apple Support Document.
Insert Your Leopard DVD.
Shutdown and restart holding down C
pick your language
from the menu go to Utilities
Pick reset Password
Pick your hard drive (mines Macintosh HD)
From the users list select system Administrator
Enter a password and renter it and select reset
Quit password reset
Then quit OS x installer
Click the restart button
When your system restarts go to system preferences
Accounts and click the unlock button (the padlock in the bottom left hand corner)
It will ask for user name and password
For user name use the name Roots and the password you entered in the password reset.
This should unlock all the greyed out menus.
Check the Allow changes box to give you back Admin status.
Restart your computer.
This worked for me without another install. Hope it helps. -
Server 2012 R2 RDS – cannot log off user session
We have a 2 server RDS RemoteApp Farm.
One server is constantly leaving user sessions in a disconnected state without the ability to kill the session (rebooting is the only way); this is happing 1-2 times per week.
Servers have been configured to kill a disconnected session after 10 minutes, but some disconnected sessions have been running for days.
Below is a screenshot of the process running for two disconnected users sessions that I could not disconnect, rebooting the server was the only way of fixing this. No error's were generated when users disconnected the session.
Is there a known fix for this?Hi,
Did you apply session disconnected policy setting in your environment?
There are different ways for getting user log off. As you have commented that it’s happening with specific user, once check whether the user profile is not corrupted or any other related case. Also it might relates that some application or related services
is still running under user profile so that session cannot be logged off. You can also try PowerShell command to log off the user. Also with
Query user command you can find the related session name and ID and then with “Logoff user command” you can logoff the specific user.
For policy related to session setting you can check beneath article. (point 1)
[Forum FAQ] Restrict number of Active Sessions
in RDS 2012 and 2012 R2
Hope it helps!

Trouble with logging off and back on, Windows XP
This doesn't quite seem to go here, but none of the sub forums seemed really appropriate.
I've had Windows XP installed on my Macbook for about a month now. I recently noticed that if I log off my user account, my computer will freeze up as it tries logging back in.
If I put the computer to sleep, it will log back in fine; it only seems to occur if I go Start>Log Off
Any ideas what the issue is?
~LyssaThere is a discussion group for Boot Camp. Search in that group for answers, this has been covered before.
Remember you are not only using beta software you are using it to install Windows.
Before heading off in a great search in the Boot Camp discussions... Be absolutely certain that you have WinXP (Pro or Home) with Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed. While in WinXP right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", it will tell you if this is true.
Some folks have resorted to unpacking the driver file & installing each one at a time. The drivers can be unpacked using a command line switch. I don't remember the exact syntax - but a quick search in the Boot Camp discussion group should bring you the answer.
Good luck! And remember... BACK UP your OSX data!

Log off screen on click of UI Button
Hello Friends,
We have a WD ABAP application which we are going to use with the application URL. Currently I have created the Log off button with the help of below mention Blog. and the button is working fine for closing the window.
How to close parent window in Webdynpro applications?.
But this blog is useful for closing the parent window , I want the functionality when users run the application URL it should always ask for Login and when click on Log off button it should log off the user and again Login screen should appear.
Currently because of browser cache or I don't know why its directly showing the application screen .
Please suggest some solution .
Thanks in advance
Himani SaxenaHi,
Application logoff will log off and close the window. check this help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/fc/04a5421935c511e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
If you want to display login screen again you can use exit plug and pass your web dynpro application url again.
Or you can design with outbound and inbound plugs accordingly.
check this help docu for exit plug reference: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/45/1bc575ba064574e10000000a114a6b/content.htm
If you dont want to close window. pass space to close_window parameter.
Also check this article for ref: [Exit Plug in WDA|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0018077-f0c9-2b10-87af-eb9bb40776d4?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]
Hope this helps u.,
Thanks & Regards,

1computer 3 ipods(how do I log off?)
we are a 5 ipod family, several of us use same computer. When I plug in My ipod itunes says that because a previous ipod was not logged off, my ipod cant be read. How do I log off previous ipod?
Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Did you log off of the other user accounts? Make sure you go to start-->log off-->log off and not start-->log off-->switch users.
Also, does this apply?
Disk cannot be read from or written to error syncing iPod in iTunes

I've been racking my brain and testing multiple GPOs but haven't had any luck so far.
I work in a retail environment with Windows 2008 R2 and Windows Embed POS XP/7 machines with POS software running on a Windows 2008 Domain. This POS software already has security locks in place but I need to be able to setup GPOs so that the machines do
not lock out or log off the user; basically, forever unlocked with the POS environment always running for a specific domain user.
Right now, I have this GPO enabled:
Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings
Require a password when a computer wakes (plugged in) = Disabled
Specify the unattended sleep timeout (plugged in) = Enabled.
What am I missing? What other GPOs do I need to configure to disabled log off and lock?
I will continue my researching the meantime....
Thanks.Hi,
Based on your description, we can disable the setting
Allow standby states (S1-S3) when sleeping and
try editing the following registry value to disable hibernation to see it helps.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\ HibernateEnabled dword:0x0
Regarding this point, the following thread can be referred to for more information.
Best way to set GPO for Windows 7 Power Management so computer never sleeps

If the above solution works, we can utilize GPP Registry extension to deploy the registry value to our clients.

Account log out without user consent
Hi all,
There are 4 separate user accounts under my MacBook Pro running Lion. Today I logged into one account and then used switch user to switch to another account.
When I wanted to switch back to the previous account, it appeared to be logged out. I didn't do it, and was not sure about what caused it.
May I ask whether anyone has the same issue or knows the causes and solutions?
Thanks a lot.>>At the Log in Screen I guess there is no way to log out a user unless you log in and log off.
That's true, other than restart, which gives you the option, while warning that they may lose unsaved changes.
>>roam wrote :
You can log off a user without first logging into their account, as shown in the following...
It works at least in Mac OS 10.6. I don't know about Mavericks.
It does work, and testing here, on the next login, windows & apps are just as they were left for the other user, even just-edited & unsaved files... no promises though. -
How to log off a single AD user from a list of servers
I have a user account I need to logoff from all servers in a list. For example domain\user2 needs to be logged off all servers in a list. Here is what I have so far:
foreach ($_ in get-content C:/servers.txt)
{(gwmi win32_operatingsystem -ComputerName$_).Win32Shutdown(4)}
The problem is all this does is log off the first user in the session list when you are looking at task manager. How could
I log off just a specific user? This thread on stackoverflow may be useful to you if the user is connected to an RD session on your servers: Powershell Log Off Remote Session
As a starting point:
$server = 'MyServer'
$username = "domain\usertologoff"
$session = ((quser /server:$server | ? { $_ -match $username }) -split ' +')[2]
logoff $session /server:$server
(the script listed logs the current user off, I changed it to all you to enter the username)

Hello,
i am using Firefox version 31. I have a problem with page setup margins. I need to use left
30mm; right 10mm; top 20mm; bottom 20mm. I am using VMware floating assignemnt linked clones
virtual desktops. After users log off - machines are deleted and users next time logs on get's brand
new VDI's. Users gets printers to VDI using login script from Active Directory.
Option Explicit
Dim strPrinterUNC, objNetwork
strPrinterUNC = "\\some_server\printer_number_1"
Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection strPrinterUNC
WScript.Sleep (20000)
objNetwork.SetDefaultPrinter strPrinterUNC
Set objNetwork = Nothing
Each user have different logon script, because they use different printers (different printer names e.g. \\some_server\printer_number_2 ; \\some_server\printer_number_3 and etc. Page setup margins in Internet Explorer are ok. But how to make Firefox page setup margins as i need? For other options i have
used CCK2 Wizard 2.0.4 tool. It worked fine. Maybe i can put some information in C:\Program
Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\autoconfig.js I have some usefull data in it allready. I
have found info that: "Setting print margins is done in the printer settings". I have a lot of
printers, so i can not set printer margins individualy for each of them. Now mozilla shows top,
bottom, right, left each 12.7 mm. What should i do if i have a lot of printers in enterprise
environment?Firefox has a profile folder that has preferences to save this. But the config that would need to be changed is:
print. save_print_settings = True - (default): Save the print settings after each print job
Locking that preference: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences]
Or done manually:
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary. -
User profile images not persisting after log off on Server 2012 R2 RDS Session Hosts
Hi,
We have a 2012 R2 remote desktop deployment, with two session collections, a gateway server, and connection broker.
We have set these session collections to use centralised user profile disks.
What I am having an issue with, is that when a user sets their profile image through the server they have logged on to (I have the desktop experience pack installed so they are able to do this), they can see the user tile has been set with that image in
settings and also on the start menu, but as soon as they log off the server and back on, their profile image has been reset to the default blank image.
I have checked all of my group policy options, and cannot find any settings that could be impacting this.
Does anyone have any ideas why these images are not persisting for users or admins?
Thanks, EdsPlease check that the user is not getting a temporary profile each time he logs in. Also, make sure that the RDP client is properly configured to display the Wallpaper: http://www.webapper.com/blog/index.php/2007/10/18/enabling-desktop-wallpaper-on-remote-desktop-terminal-services/

I am trying to do this on a network for a specific lab that uses Active Directory. I would like to accomplish this on each individual iMac. The only account that would not be removed after logging off would be the Administrators.
Thanks. Also, If I created a default profile on each system, could each user log in and be redirected to that profile and all of their network resources be readily available, and once they log out of the system, they are disconnected and all of their information is removed? (Hope this makes sense.)
