Logging Off Users Remotely

Hi. I'm a brand new Skype manager administrator.
Is it possible to log another user out of Skype remotely when they have forgotten to do so themselves?
Rationale:
We conduct video interviews via Skype and therefore maintain a few "guest" accounts. (For the Skype staff members... we're not using any subscription services on these accounts, so we're not circumventing any paid services.) I'm simply interested in being able to regain access to my guest accounts should the guests forget to do so themselves.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Can you help me please? A tech support person showed me how to do this, however, I am unable to locate the text message where I did this. Apparently I sent a text message to ANY contact and then received back a message tellling me which devices were logged in. Then, I was able to remotely log those devices out. What I discovered was that an old cell phone that I junked many months ago was still logged in. I have no clue why this occurred. I logged it out. I'd like to see if somehow, it logged itself back in. I'm still having trouble with Skype after all this time. It's been nearly a year. I'm certain this device is unusable and has most likely been tossed out or recycled. But I cannot locate this text that I sent. It's something like "login location" but I cannot recall what I am supposed to send.  I need to delete all devices remotely so Skype will work properly. I have lost job opportunities because I am unable to answer my phone. Thank you!

  • Server 2012 R2 RDS – cannot log off user session

We have a 2 server RDS RemoteApp Farm.
One server is constantly leaving user sessions in a disconnected state without the ability to kill the session (rebooting is the only way); this is happing 1-2 times per week.
Servers have been configured to kill a disconnected session after 10 minutes, but some disconnected sessions have been running for days.
Below is a screenshot of the process running for two disconnected users sessions that I could not disconnect, rebooting the server was the only way of fixing this. No error's were generated when users disconnected the session.
Is there a known fix for this?

    Hi,
Did you apply session disconnected policy setting in your environment?
There are different ways for getting user log off. As you have commented that it’s happening with specific user, once check whether the user profile is not corrupted or any other related case. Also it might relates that some application or related services
is still running under user profile so that session cannot be logged off. You can also try PowerShell command to log off the user. Also with
Query user command you can find the related session name and ID and then with “Logoff user command” you can logoff the specific user.
For policy related to session setting you can check beneath article. (point 1)

Save your open documents in other applications, and then use the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to force quit the loginwindow process.

  • How to log off a single AD user from a list of servers

I have a user account I need to logoff from all servers in a list.  For example domain\user2 needs to be logged off all servers in a list.  Here is what I have so far:
    foreach ($_ in get-content C:/servers.txt)
    {(gwmi win32_operatingsystem -ComputerName$_).Win32Shutdown(4)}
The problem is all this does is log off the first user in the session list when you are looking at task manager.  How could
I log off just a specific user?

This thread on stackoverflow may be useful to you if the user is connected to an RD session on your servers: Powershell Log Off Remote Session
    As a starting point:
    $server = 'MyServer'
    $username = "domain\usertologoff"
    $session = ((quser /server:$server | ? { $_ -match $username }) -split ' +')[2]
    logoff $session /server:$server
(the script listed logs the current user off, I changed it to all you to enter the username)

  • User profile images not persisting after log off on Server 2012 R2 RDS Session Hosts

    Hi,
We have a 2012 R2 remote desktop deployment, with two session collections, a gateway server, and connection broker.
We have set these session collections to use centralised user profile disks.
What I am having an issue with, is that when a user sets their profile image through the server they have logged on to (I have the desktop experience pack installed so they are able to do this), they can see the user tile has been set with that image in
settings and also on the start menu, but as soon as they log off the server and back on, their profile image has been reset to the default blank image.
I have checked all of my group policy options, and cannot find any settings that could be impacting this.
Does anyone have any ideas why these images are not persisting for users or admins?
    Thanks, Eds

Please check that the user is not getting a temporary profile each time he logs in. Also, make sure that the RDP client is properly configured to display the Wallpaper: http://www.webapper.com/blog/index.php/2007/10/18/enabling-desktop-wallpaper-on-remote-desktop-terminal-services/

  • Applications still run after user logged off

    Hi,
I have a w2k8r2 Terminal server and have a problem that have eluded me for some time now.
When a user is logged off, by either being disconnected or being inactive for a prolonged time, the user initiated programs are still running.
To be more exact, Some times when a user is logged off I have the following situation:
In the task manager on the users tab I cannot see the user anymore (nor in the remote desktop services manager), but in the Processes tab I can still see user initiated programs running. Furthermore I am not able to kill any of those programs, getting an
    "Access is denied" error message.
My problem is that when the Terminal Server enters this "state" it becomes all buggy and itchy, causing loads of problems for the users that are already logged in (and for the new ones trying to log in). The only solution I have found is rebooting
    the server.
Any solution, or further troubleshooting steps, are more than welcome. For me the next step is reinstalling which I really don't want

    1. Check any task schedular is running for application or not,
    Refer :
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/if-i-log-off-at-night-leave-computer-on-will/559eec53-1d2a-46f8-ac12-f0d4a32ab57a?msgId=b51d42b3-e727-40c0-b94e-8a01b31bf526
    2. Also update Antivirus and scan completely.
    3. Is it specific application or all the application, Which user opened in his session?
    4. If specific application is running (In this scenario Outlook is running even user logs off), Try the below Citrix forum thread.
    Refer :

  • Signout/log off button for RdP users accessing 2012 R2

I am configuring a 2012 R2 machine to provide remote desktop services to a group of users connecting via Wyse terminals
These users currently access a 2008 R2 server
    These users are highly non-technical
I am looking for a way to enable them to log off or sign out of their sessions from the desktop
I don't want to force them to go to the Metro/Modern/Touch interface or have to use the Charms bar
Any solutions for this desired user experience?
    Thanks
    Ben
    Thanks Ben

    Hi Ben,
you can create Desktop Shortcuts using GPO:
    Logoff - calling
    C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -L
    Discconect - calling
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\tsdiscon.exe
Alternatively for the Metro UI there is a solution to create shutdown and logoff tiles. Have a look here:

  • Running a non mandatory program from remote using powershell without a logged in user

    Hi all,
is there a way to execute a non mandatory program (a task sequence in my case) from remote using powershell
without a logged in user on the target system?
    I have the following code:
    $ProgramObject = Get-WmiObject -Class CCM_Program -Namespace "root\ccm\clientsdk" -ComputerName $ComputerItem | Where-Object { $_.Name -match "$ProgramName" }
    Invoke-WmiMethod -class CCM_ProgramsManager -Namespace "root\ccm\clientsdk" -Name ExecutePrograms -argumentlist $ProgramObject -ComputerName $ComputerItem | Out-Null
Works like charm, but only with a user logged in on the target system what is not a good solution for me.
I saw some other ways on the internet but these only work when the program is mandatory.
Is there a way to archive what I need ?
    thanks

    Hi,
If you deploy the program as a available deployment, there need a user to run the program. Otherwise, the program will never run. This is contradicted with your requirement(run the program at log off).
    So I concur with Peter.

  • Closing the browser in InfoView doesn't log the user off.

In Business Objects XI R2 Infoview, closing the browser in InfoView doesn't log the user off no matter how you answer the subsequent popup question "A window has closed. Log off as well?" Is there a fix for this somewhere?

    hi,
In InfoView, with Performance Management installed, user sessions fail to be released immediately when the Log Off button is clicked.
If you click the logoff button in Infoview and watch the address bar you will notice that it actually goes to another page called default.htm. It does this really fast. That page is located at C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\InfoView. Remove both the default.htm and index.html and reboot your Tomcat server. Open a browser and go to Infoview. Once you have gotten in to Infoview click the log off button. You will get and error from the tomcat server and that is because the page does not exist anymore. If you look in CMS under servers and CMS you will also notice it dropped the session as well. So if you create another Default.htm page of your own and just redirect to another page it all should work.
However I did notice an interesting ADAPT in CHF15 :-

  • How to set printer margins if using a lot of printers in virtual desktops which are deleted each time users logs off

    Hello,
i am using Firefox version 31. I have a problem with page setup margins. I need to use left
30mm; right 10mm; top 20mm; bottom 20mm. I am using VMware floating assignemnt linked clones
virtual desktops. After users log off - machines are deleted and users next time logs on get's brand
new VDI's. Users gets printers to VDI using login script from Active Directory.
    Option Explicit
    Dim strPrinterUNC, objNetwork
    strPrinterUNC = "\\some_server\printer_number_1"
    Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
    objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection strPrinterUNC
    WScript.Sleep (20000)
    objNetwork.SetDefaultPrinter strPrinterUNC
    Set objNetwork = Nothing
Each user have different logon script, because they use different printers (different printer names e.g. \\some_server\printer_number_2 ; \\some_server\printer_number_3 and etc. Page setup margins in Internet Explorer are ok. But how to make Firefox page setup margins as i need? For other options i have
used CCK2 Wizard 2.0.4 tool. It worked fine. Maybe i can put some information in C:\Program
Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\autoconfig.js I have some usefull data in it allready. I
have found info that: "Setting print margins is done in the printer settings". I have a lot of
printers, so i can not set printer margins individualy for each of them. Now mozilla shows top,
bottom, right, left each 12.7 mm. What should i do if i have a lot of printers in enterprise
    environment?

Firefox has a profile folder that has preferences to save this. But the config that would need to be changed is:
print. save_print_settings = True - (default): Save the print settings after each print job
    Locking that preference: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences]
    Or done manually:
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.

  • Is there a script or a secure program that I could use to remove profiles after a given user logs off from the system?

I am trying to do this on a network for a specific lab that uses Active Directory. I would like to accomplish this on each individual iMac. The only account that would not be removed after logging off would be the Administrators.
    Thanks.

Also, If I created a default profile on each system, could each user log in and be redirected to that profile and all of their network resources be readily available, and once they log out of the system, they are disconnected and all of their information is removed? (Hope this makes sense.)

  • Remote control kicks you out when trying to change the logged in user by clicking on the red N

I'm running Zen 6.5 with the latest updates and the latest agents... I can
successfully remote control a workstation through ConsoleOne but I have 2
    issues:
    1. If I'm in the middle of a remote session and I right click on the red
N icon and change the user, it kicks me out and says "operation is
currently disabled for the logged in user".
    2. Whenever I log in it changes the desktop background to blank (it's
actually a blue background) and it doesn't change it back after I close
the remote session. If I physically go that workstation and logout and
log back in, it still keeps that same blue background.

  • How to get the logged in user to accept remote management

    Hi,
It possible to have the currently logged in user to accept or reject a Remote Desktop connection?
The reason is that the remote administrator taking control should not be able to see the currently logged in user without him knowing it. I know about the "being observed" icon but that's not enough.
I want the remote administrator to be able to work freely when no users are logged in but if a user is logged in, I want some kind of request/validation-or-rejection mechanism before the remote desktop administrator can take control of the mac.
    Is that possible?
    Ludo

ARD supports both modes that you desire... The problem, as I recall, is that these are "all or nothing" switches you get one way, or the other, but you can't have it both ways.
The controls for these options lie behind the "Computer Settings..." button in the Sharing Prefs panel.
"Anyone may request permission to control the screen"
    and
"VNC viewers may control the screen with password:"
