Logging SID to Operating System Auditing Trail

Greetings,
In Oracle 10 and 11, is there a way to include the SID in the information that gets logged to the operating system audit trail?
Thanks,
Myles

SID as in ORACLE_SID or V$SESSION.SID?

  • Operating System Audit Trail

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 on WinXP. I want to start auditing on my database and I have fixed AUDIT_TRAIL=OS, but not not mentioned the AUDIT_FILE_DEST parameter.
    As per Oracle Docs ...
If you do not set the AUDIT_FILE_DEST parameter, then Oracle Database places the file in the following default locations:
    Linux and Solaris: $ORACLE_BASE/admin/$DB_UNIQUE_NAME/adump
    For example:
    /opt/oracle/app/oracle/admin/orcl/adump
    Windows: %ORACLE_BASE%\admin\%DB_UNIQUE_NAME\adump
    For example:
    C:\ORACLE\ADMIN\ORCL\ADUMP
But I can not see any ADUMP folder in my %ORACLE_BASE%\admin\%DB_UNIQUE_NAME folder. will it create automatically or I have to create it manually?

In Windows audit records are written as events to the Event Viewer log file.

  • Could not open error log file ''. Operating system error = 5(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105).

    Hello
When I try to start the SQl server service i get the following error:
    Event id 17058
Could not open error log file ''. Operating system error = 5(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105).
As a test I have made sure the errorlog file ,and the entire drive it is, has everyone full control permissions, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this issue?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Try running:
    SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('ErrorLogFileName')
Then verify that the account being used to run the SQL Server service account has access to the path output above.  If possible, you could try logging onto the server with the same account used to run SQL Server then navigate to the errorlog folder.

  • System audit trail for FBL5N and Mass Change use

    Hello,
My client carried out the foll actions yesterday.
Called TCode FBL5N using a range of customers
When the line items were displayed, they selected some of them and then went into Environment - Mass Change - New Values
Here they input a new value to the Dunning Block field.
Then they saved it and came out.
Later they realized that they should not have made the changes to some of the records. Unfortunately, now they dont remember either the customer range for which they had run FBL5N or the line items which they had changed.
So, the question is: is there any way by studying the audit trail or system history, one can find out which are the documents/line items that were changed yesterday within a specific time frame using TCode FBL5N and then Mass Change?
Please see if you can provide some input.

  • Does Time Machine track changes to disks made by other operating systems?

I run 10.8 Mountain Lion on my main partition but also occassionally boot to a copy of 10.7 Lion on a separate partition in order to run a version of Quickbooks for Mac that isn't supported in 10.8.  Time machine is only turned on in 10.8 and backs up all internal disks and partitions when I'm logged into that operating system.  My question is does time machine in 10.8 notice changes made to any of the internal disks made by me while I was booted into 10.7 Lion?
Occassionally I reboot into 10.7 Lion to run Quickbooks for Mac 2011, do work, make changes to files, ect.  When I log back into 10.8 Mountain Lion and Time Machine does it's normal back up thing, does it recognize changes that were made to internal disks, folders, and files that were made when I was previously booted into 10.7 Lion?  Or does Time Machine in 10.8 Mountain Lion only recognize changes that are made when it's running?
    Thanks Peeps!

Why OS commands and not the PayloadZipModule?
If you need OS commands check this blog of Michal /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2007/02/08/xipi-command-line-sample-functions

I can't log into my mobile me account from my lap top.  Is it because of my operating system?  I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8? Every time I try to enter my data in on the control panel I get an error that says; "Your MobileMe member name or password may be invalid. Please enter a different name or password."  I know the name and password is correct because I can log in via the Web.

Apple discontinued it on June 30, 2012. Many of its services are now provided by iCloud; anything which connects specifically to MobileMe won't work.

    any idea?
    thnks for any help

    Hi
    Just run the script $AV_AGENT/av/plugins/com.oracle.av.plugin.oracle/config/oracle_user_setup.sql  USER_NAME REDO_COLL
This will grant the user some privileges and roles like DBA and CREATE Database Link

  • Client Side Operating System Commands

    Hello,
I need to invoke client side operating system commands or batch executables (e.g. test.bat) with the help of Java stored procedures and PL/SQL written in database server. My database is Oracle 10g and installed on UNIX platform, and I am trying to call Windows client commands. What do you prefer to do this?
I investigated lots of documents, but they generally refer how to call OS commands of the server on which the database is running.
    Thanks.

It mostly depends on your particular client application how it handles return parameters from SQL or PLSQL.
One simple way would be to simply "print" out the desired client command and let it evaluate it from the client side.
As an example I use SQL*Plus:
    /* declare bind variable */
    SQL> VAR x varchar2(30)
/* define substitution variable (cmd)  */
    SQL> COLUMN cmd new_value cmd
/*    Assign the SQL output to the declared bind variable */
    SQL> BEGIN
       SELECT 'echo Hello World'
         INTO :x
         FROM DUAL;
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
/*  Assign the bind variable to SQL*Plus substitution variable */
    SQL> SELECT :x cmd
      FROM DUAL
    CMD
    echo Hello World
    1 row selected.
/*  Finally let the HOST command evaluate the substution variable */
    SQL> HOST &&cmd
Hello WorldHope you got the idea ...

have a question to ask ... I bought, at the time, the update of Adobe Audition CS6, being already in possession of the CS5.5 version. Since I had to redo the operating system (windows 7 professional 64-bit), reistallando program CS6, with the corresponding serial number in my possession, I noticed a malfunction that is:

    Many thanks.

  • Run DeploymentType NEWCOMPUTER logged in to existing Operating System.

    Hi,
I've read quite a few articles but don't seem to be able to find the answer I'm looking for.
Is it possible to run a NEWCOMPUTER deployment Scenario when the user is already logged into the old operating system / computer.
So the service desk will run the litetouch.vbs from the clients computer and there will be two task sequences available
Refresh: Run Scanstate and install Win 7 on current system drive, loadstate.
NewComputer: Do not run Scanstate, reboot, repartition, reformat and install win 7
I have tried creating a task sequence and adding "Task Sequence Variables" for SkipDeploymentType=YES and DeploymentType=NEWCOMPUTER but it always runs a Refresh with USMT.
I have also tried adding the above variables to the litetouch.vbs command line.
    Thanks,
    Jason.

Sorry, I know this post is quite old but it was the first thing that came up in my searches while researching and just want to add my 2 cents.
Actually, it is possible to get a new computer task sequence working from the OS.  WinPE does get placed on the local disk, but it is loaded into the RAMdrive at boot so the sequence process does not get lost (at least, this is my understanding).
I modified a standard client task sequence in MDT 2012 as follows:
At the start of the validation and state capture phases, set task sequence variable "DeploymentType" to "NewComputer" to override the script's attempts to call it a "refresh".
In the state capture phase, modify the constraints on the 'refresh only' folders to: "Task Sequence Variable OSVersion not equals WinPE".
In the preinstall phase, I got rid of the 'new computer only' after moving the 'format and partition disk', 'copy scripts' and 'configure' items up above 'enable bitlocker'/'inject drivers'.
At this point, I was getting an error after rebooting in the preinstall phase when it attempted to inject the drivers.  I discovered that the error was caused by the script attempting to find the windows partition as sized and serial-numbered BEFORE
the task sequence formatted and repartitioned the drive.  I did not see where the task sequence variables for this information were being set, so I backed up and modified ZTIUtility.vbs to exclude the search constraints by partition size and volume serial
    number.
In my ZTIUtility.vbs, line 3403 now looks like this:
    oEnvironment.Item(sTagVariable) = "SELECT * FROM Win32_LogicalDisk WHERE VolumeName = '" & oDiskPart.VolumeName & "'"
In effect, If your OS had more than one drive, or a non-system disk labeled the same as the volume name you assign in your task sequence, you could run into problems.. But this isn't an issue for us.
After doing that, I can now use this task sequence either from pxeboot or directly from the OS.  Now if I get a ticket complaining that the computer is running slow, I can just RDP in from home and it'll have a fresh image and be back on the domain
    in the morning :)

    Hi!
I successfully set up the System Monitoring for one satellite system with SAP DB.
I integrated DB via tcode SM59 and created the alert monitor.
After this I created the User Defined alerts in System Monitoring Setup.
The prooblem now is I cannot see the appropriate component <SID>-Database under Operations: System Monitoring.
Has some one experience dealing with this problem?
    Thank you very much!

    Hello Thom,
did have a look at SAP Note 1038134?
If you are using Solution Mnager roles for System Monitoring the authorization check has changed and you need to maintain authorization object S_SOLM_ACT.
    Best regards,
