Logic 7 Autoload in Logic 8??

Is there anyway I can transfer my Logic 7 autoload into Logic 8?>
I have just installed Logic 8 on my machine and still have logic 7 residing on there also. I also have my autoload template (new key commands etc) on my desktop.
Can I open this within Logic 8 as it has just opened a standard arrange page and all the key commands feel very odd!
Surely I dont have to redo my whole autoload again??

1. Key commands are global in both L7 and L8 and not tied to an Autoload.
2. Using L7 songs, including an Autoload can be a bumpy ride.
If you must however, I recommend:
1. Open the Autoload in L7.
2. Go into the Environment and delete all your audio channels, auxes, busses. outputs etc.
3. Delete the Undo history.
4. Save it under another name.
5. Quit L7, open L8, and then load the renamed Autoload.
6. Re-populate your audio tracks, auxes, busses, outputs, etc.
7. Save it as a Template project.
I know that is a fair amount of work but in my experience it is the safe way to go.

  • Logical Switch and Logical Network

Hello All...................I have Hyper-V Failover Cluster based on 5 Hosts and I am managing it with VMM 2012 R2. I was slightly confused with respect to Logical Network and Logical Switch in the Fabric Settings.  I would appreciate if someone could
shed a little light on the difference between them.  Also, while there is a Logical Network defined by default (Name of the Virtual Switch of Hosts), there is nothing defined in the Logical Switch.  Which one is mandatory? Logical Network or Logical
Switch? Can I delete the default Logical Network?

    Hi Nick,
Please find below link for the whitepaper mentioned by Kristian.
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Hybrid-Cloud-with-NVGRE-aa6e1e9a
For a complete reference please refer below series. This covers VMM 2012 SP1 but should be fine with R2 as well.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/scvmm/archive/2013/01/08/virtual-networking-in-vmm-2012-sp1.aspx
Logical Network is defined for easier management and used in Network Virtualization where as Logical switch is used to configure networking in multiple Hosts rather than creating individual Virtual switches in each host. If it were me I'll leave the
default logical network as there is no harm of doing nothing in it.
I hope this will shed some light into your situation.

  • Can I open emagic logic projects in Logic Express 7.2?

    Hi
I am recording a band in a few weeks, who have already laid down their (live) drum tracks in a proper studio that uses Emagic Logic. I don't know which version, but he runs it on a G4.
I use GarageBand at the moment, but am about to move up to Logic Express 7.2. Will I be able to import the Emagic Logic projects into Logic Express 7.2?
    Cheers

I'll have plenty of time to practice with Logic beforehand. Sure it'll be a challenge, but I'm not going to let that put me off.

  • Keep getting message pop up "Error reading/writing file  "com.apple.logic.pro.cs": Logical end-of-file reached during read operation," and "The Preferences are not loaded completely. Save them to "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" anyway?" Using Logic pro 8. ???

Logic froze while I was working on something so I forced quit.  Now every time I open LOGIC a message pops up that says:
    "Error reading/writing file
    “com.apple.logic.pro.cs”:
Logical end-of-file reached during read operation."
The only button option is cancel so I press it and another message appears that says:
"The Preferences are not loaded completely.
Do not save them, as you would overwrite the Preferences file with incomplete data."
Then when i close logic a box appears saying:
"The Preferences are not loaded completely.
    Save them to "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" anyway?"
There are 3 button options to press; ok, cancel or dont save.
I press "don’t save" cuz I don't want to ruin anything.
I found a discussion located here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/9564253#9564253 that says if I delete the file "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" it will resolve the problem.  If I do this will I loose or mess anything up at all, automation, saved channel strips customizations, saved effects, synth, or ultrabeat customizations etc? Or especially will I loose any work I've done?  I have hundreds pieces of music files I've created.  I'm scared to mess anything up with all the hours and months of work I've done.  Is there anyway to fix this without loosing anything?  I'm using Logic Pro 8.
    Thank you

You can safely delete this file - its the preference file for control surface settings - you haven't said whether you're actually using a control surface or not, if so, you will have to set it up again. A new file will be created when you fire Logic up again, but of course it will contain default settings. If you have a complicated control surface setup, remember to keep a backup copy somewhere in case any future problems arise.
Other than that, you really have nothing to be scared about - hopefully your problem is as simple as that and there isn't an underlying problem (a corrupt hard drive, for example). You seem concerned about losing work, so I guess you want to think about backing that up on a regular basis too. If you're saving your projects to your system drive, do get an external one for this. And also check that you have plent of free space on your system drive - you need to keep about a quarter or third of it free for your OS and programs to run properly (some temporarily stored files can be quite large).

  • How do I record an audio source outside of Logic while in Logic?

Hi everyone, I have a question I would like to address to the forum.
How do I record an audio source outside of Logic while in Logic? For example, I would like to record the audio off a youtube video or dvd to be then used in Logic. I am using a Dididesign M-Box Mini for both my audio input and audio output i.e. all sound is coming in and out of the M-Box. I hope this is an easy question to answer (I am a new Mac user). Thanks in advance.
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Use the 3.5mm audio out jack on the back of your computer. Connect it to your audio interface, and record like normal. You need an adapter cable. ( 3.5mm stereo to two 1/4 inch mono) see link.

  • How do I move previous Channel Strip Settings from Logic 9 to Logic X?

    Hello,
I made the jump from Logic 9 to Logic X and I had previous Channel Strip Settings on the 9.  I did the yourhomefolder/library/applicationsupport/logic copy and pasted it in the new folders on my HD (exact same place), but they're not showing up.  I only get the 'Legacy' option when trying to inset a Channel Strip I had before.
Does anyone know how to do this successfully?
    Thanks.

    Banks,
    Indeed..
However, I would retain the LP9 app as firstly it's fairly small so you don't save much space by deleting it...and secondly, you might need it to work on older or new projects that still use 32bit only plugins as they are no longer supported in Logic Pro X
    Cheers..

  • Validator using logical AND or logical OR

How can I validate multiple TextInputs using logical AND or
    logical OR. For example:
    If TextInput1 == Null || TextInput2 == Null causes a
validation error if both are null but passes validation as long as
one field is populated or both fields are populated.
    John

You could have a Boolean variable that is initially false,
and only becomes true when one of the TextInput becomes populated.
The variable could be set in the TextInput "change" event.
Your validation code would check the value of that Boolean
    variable.

  • Seprating Persistence logic from business logic

    Hi all !!
I was thinking about that is there any known way or a possible way by which i can write a Entity Bean in which i can seprate the business logic and Persistence logic. Like what if i want to decide at the deployment type whether my Bean is gonna be BMP or CMP.Becuzz it may be possible that CMP may work fine with a particular container but does'nt work with some other vendor's container , so at the deployemnt time i can juzz switch it to BMP rather than CMP.
    Any comments?

    Greetings,
    Hi all !!

possible way by which i can write a Entity Bean in
which i can seprate the business logic and Persistence
logic. Like what if i want to decide at the deploymentYep! It's called a DAO (Data Access Object). Of course, this is only useful for BMP beans...
type whether my Bean is gonna be BMP or CMP.Becuzz it

particular container but does'nt work with some other
vendor's container , so at the deployemnt time i can

Any comments?Absolutely. First implement your bean class for CMP, then extend from it to make a BMP version. Then during assembly/deployment select the version appropriate to the environment. You can increase your application's portability even further by encapsulating the persistence logic in a DAO which could then be accessed from a JavaBean in JSPs/servlets (or applications) directly. :)

  • Script logic in default logic

    Hello
How to include script logic in default logic?

    There are two ways:
    1. Direclty write the script in the default logic and the validate and save.
    2. Create a new script and write the scipt code in that and the add that script name in default logic . e.g: * include (your script name).lgf

  • HT4229 Does Logic Pro or logic express allow me to plug in a Halion VST player or to import and play VST wave files on any other player plugin?

    Hi
Can I plug Halion 2 into Logic Pro or Logic Express?  Or another VST player?
    I cant find out how....

Logic unfortunately does not support any VST's by themselves. Rather they support AU's (Audio Units). So you cannot plug Halion 2 into Logic easily.
However, I have heard that you can install an AU called Plogue Bidule that allows you to run VST's. It acts as a sort of middle man so that you open the AU that opens the VST. I don't know too much about it, but it appears that they have some content on their website to look at if you are interested.
    Hope this information helps!

  • Kernel Panic when installing Logic Studio 2 (Logic 9) Upgrade

I just bought the Logic 9 Upgrade from Logic Studio or Logic Pro. I have gotten partially through the install multiple times, but every time, I get a kernel panic about 10% through the installation. I have tried this on two different Mac OS (10.5.8) installations and get the same result.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

For a kernel panic only three possible reasons exist:
    1. You have a device driver which has a bug and/or so outdated, that it is no longer compatible with the current version of Mac OS X, which you are currently running. For musicians this is typically an audio driver, but can be a special MIDI driver too or a driver for a control surface.
    2. A hardware defect, most commonly: cheap memory, which is no reliable. Small applications usually run fine, because they are probably staying within the memory which came with the Mac, but larger ones (Logic, Final Cut, etc) use more memory and will crash if the memory is bad.
    3. A programming error or programming oversight in Mac OS X can trigger it. I have not seen any of these in years, but with the very early versions of Mac OS X (10.0, 10.1), they were not uncommon.
As you might have noticed: none of these issues, are within the application itself!
