Logic 7 waveforms not loading in logic 8
Hi, please help! i had a bunch of stuff recorded in logic 7 (from someone else's computer) that i'm trying to load on my logic 8. when i load the projects, none of the waveforms for the tracks show up, it's just blank. i can still play the tracks, but none of the waveforms for each instrument show up. anyone know why??? cheers!!!
Update: I discovered the cause of the problem: My Apogee Ensemble audio interface. Only after I switched it off Logic 8 would recognize the Logic/Mackie Control. I switched the Ensemble off , launched Logic and voila: Logic Control is scanned and works. The next thing was switching on the Ensemble while Logic was running, now both the Logic Control and Ensemble worked, but quitting Logic and starting it again while Ensemble is running can cause Logic Control to not work properly as I discovered e.g. no display and no fader movements. So this is a bug and Apple's claim: The Logic/Mackie Control is fully compatible is not entirely true as long as you are using the Ensemble interface by Apogee which is a co-production between Apple and Apogee. So I'd say this isn't very well tested by Apple. I hope they fix it soon

Hi just installed a few new AU's
Logic now does not load, it just stays stuck on the loading screen with "Updating information about audio unit plug-ins"
so tried removing all instances of the newly loaded AU's and associated files and restarting and still no joy with loading Logic
I've also tried to load the AU manager to remove au's there with no success.
anything i can do or do i have to re-install Logic?
ThanksRemove the following file from your User Library (not Main HD Library):
User/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache
Then boot Logic, it should scan all functional Plug Ins -
Rewire is not loading in Logic Pro X
I have enabled it in Audio prefs but when starting LP X from scratch it doesn't show up at all on aux channel strips. However if LP 9 is run and then closed (in which Rewire works fine) and LP X is relaunched, Rewire shows up but is greyed out and still doesn't work. I surmise this is some sort of conflict or bug and would be grateful if someone had a solution.
solution discovered. I needed 64 bit version of Rewire

I know this issue has been discussed before, but on my brand new MacBook Pro it's still an issue, so can someone please help me out with this?
Here goes:
Loading Logic 7.2.3 in Snow Leopard:

The built-in audio inputs and outputs of the computer will be used instead for this session.

Logic loads, and everything seems to work just fine.
<selecting a plugin ---> Bass Amp>
CoreAudio:
Resource not found. (-10109)
This happens no matter which plugin I choose - Bass Amp, EXS 24, ES1 etc…

The plugin loads, and works, but the display is in "Controls" Mode. Trying to switch to "Editor" Mode resulsts in the same error as above.
Is there anyone out there who knows why this happens?
Thanks
WarblerGiven that so many things are funky, I'd suspect that one or both of the following is occurring:
1) Your Logic Pro application/installation is corrupt. Logic is failing loading control surface modules which should be in the application bundle. Reinstall.
2) You have an incompatibility between Logic and the necessary system frameworks because Logic is too old/your system/OS is too new. You can't expect to hold back on an old version of an application and press forward with the OS (or vice versa) forever - eventually, something will break, and you'll have a large leap to get things working again.
It's probably better to stay on the update train unless there is a specific reason to get off, or at least, freeze your computer/OS version at the same tim as you freeze your application. -
Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) - Could not load the sitemesh filter and library
Installed Web Logic 10.3.3 (32bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_21 (32bit) in a customer's server (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 64-bit Operating System). The web page can be displayed with header and side menu.
However installed Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_31 (64bit) on that same server. The web page cannot be displayed with header and side menu, it is just displayed with a blank background. Refer to the below "ERROR LOG", found the application could not load the sitemesh filter and library properly. We are using sitemesh-2.3.jar.
Have tried installed Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_31 (64bit) in a test server (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 64-bit Operating System). The web page can be displayed with header and side menu.
Please assist on this issue. Thanks.

Considering that the same WLS-JDK combination works on one machine and does not work on another machine, it indicates an environmental issue.

I am suspecting if it has to do anything with the native libraries being loaded JAVA_LIB_PATH.
Please review the server log file again for identifying differences in LIB_PATH or PATH or any messages saying "Unable to load native.. performance pack.."

Logic froze while I was working on something so I forced quit. Now every time I open LOGIC a message pops up that says:
"Error reading/writing file
“com.apple.logic.pro.cs”:
Logical end-of-file reached during read operation."
The only button option is cancel so I press it and another message appears that says:
"The Preferences are not loaded completely.
Do not save them, as you would overwrite the Preferences file with incomplete data."
Then when i close logic a box appears saying:
"The Preferences are not loaded completely.
Save them to "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" anyway?"
There are 3 button options to press; ok, cancel or dont save.
I press "don’t save" cuz I don't want to ruin anything.
I found a discussion located here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/9564253#9564253 that says if I delete the file "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" it will resolve the problem. If I do this will I loose or mess anything up at all, automation, saved channel strips customizations, saved effects, synth, or ultrabeat customizations etc? Or especially will I loose any work I've done? I have hundreds pieces of music files I've created. I'm scared to mess anything up with all the hours and months of work I've done. Is there anyway to fix this without loosing anything? I'm using Logic Pro 8.
Thank youYou can safely delete this file - its the preference file for control surface settings - you haven't said whether you're actually using a control surface or not, if so, you will have to set it up again. A new file will be created when you fire Logic up again, but of course it will contain default settings. If you have a complicated control surface setup, remember to keep a backup copy somewhere in case any future problems arise.
Other than that, you really have nothing to be scared about - hopefully your problem is as simple as that and there isn't an underlying problem (a corrupt hard drive, for example). You seem concerned about losing work, so I guess you want to think about backing that up on a regular basis too. If you're saving your projects to your system drive, do get an external one for this. And also check that you have plent of free space on your system drive - you need to keep about a quarter or third of it free for your OS and programs to run properly (some temporarily stored files can be quite large). -
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As a faculty member in the School of Music, I have just acquired a copy of Logic Pro 9.1.8 through my University. The programs and instrument packs were installed by our IT department and show as being fully installed on Logic Pro when I search for additional content through the Logic Pro tab at the top of the screen. The window shows that all 6 Jam Packs, Logic Pro & Main Stage Content (Essential and Additional) GarageBand content, and Surround content is installed. However when I try and add a new instrument on a project, most of these instruments cannot be found. I get the following error:
Audio file “KB_pizz_f_C1.wav” not found!
I then press the Continue Tab, and it looks for the instruments in an empty file that Logic creates in the Music section of the hard drive. I have investigated the sounds by going through the MAC Hard Drive>Library>Application Support>Logic>Sampler Instruments folder, and tried to copy the sounds into the Music>Logic folder created by the program. That does not work either. Even attempting to go into these Logic Pro instrument files one at a time has proved fruitless. I am told that the file cannot be opened.
The files appear to be installed, but cannot be accessed or opened. They all have that translucent grey appearance when I attempt to click on the icon. This is true for about 80% of the files in the instrumental library. Whenever I create an instrument, the EVP88 Electric Piano is installed by default. There are a few instruments that I can successfully replace this default instrument with, but a majority of the instrumental library remains unavailable. Can anyone help?Kurt:
You might try a different way of adding the video files to the web page. This demo page has one where the file does not load until the play button is selected: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window. This demo page has 9 short videos on it using that method: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. Just add a screenshot of one of the movie frames or any photo you want and add the Play button on or below it.
You manually upload the movie file to your server so iWeb is not involved in the uploading the file at any time.
Similarly this demo page, QT movies via iFrame, has a method that has you manually uploading the file to the server and linking to it via iFrame code. That page also has other similar methods.
Another method is demonstrated in Roddy's iWeb for Musicians site on his Video page. Here you also upload manually.

Logic or GarageBand will not load.
Both logic and garageband will not load. They begin to load then shut down. Logic gets to the core audio portion of the load and stops.
I get similar error msgs for both programs, and they both say there is a problem with plugins rewire for melodyne, and it also mentions propellerhead.
I have trashed melodyne and nothing has changed.
Please help!
Also, I'm able to load logic while holding control and NOT loading core audio.
What is wrong?Hi,
Preferences>audio units manager>uncheck that melodyne.
Cheers,

Logic Pro 9 will not load with error message MINOR PROBLEM IN DATA (3)
Logic 9 will not load for me. I am using version 9.3 and have not changed anything on my setup.
It just crashes and will not repair issue. Any help would be appreciated.How is this drive formatted? What's on it? How are you opening Logic: by doubleclicking the app or by doubleclicking a project? What project was it supposed to open? have you tried starting Logic by doubleclicking a different project?

Metadata for namespace '/WEB-INF/tld/struts-logic.tld' is not loaded
hi all,
I keep getting these kind of errors in JDeveloper for JSPs which have this included:
Metadata for namespace '/WEB-INF/tld/struts-logic.tld' is not loaded.
What should I do to resolve this error?I did exactly that, but since client I work for is using /tld subdirectory, everything is the same as below, only /tld is added after /WEB-INF:
1.Copy the TLD file struts-logic.tld to the WEB-INF directory.
2. In the web.xml add <taglib/> element
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
3. In the JSP add
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld" prefix="logic" %>
struts libs have been added to the WEB-INF/lib directory too, but the problem persists.
Maybe the reason is invalid ant build.xml file which is invoked from JDev when building project? In build.xml I found this part:
<!--Set the classpath-->
<path id="classpath">
<fileset dir="${lib.dir}">
<include name="**/*.jar" />
<exclude name="xercesImpl.jar"/>
</fileset>
</path>
Maybe I need to add this to the <path>:
<fileset dir="${tld.dir}">
<include name="**/*.tld" />
</fileset>
after defining the directory
<property name="tld.dir" value="${web.dir}/WEB-INF/tld"/>
But the thing is other developers are using the same build.xml file from their IDEs (Eclipse and IntelliJ) and nobody seem to have this problem? -
I could load Yamaha C7 grand in Logic Pro BUT I could not load in MainStage
Hi there, I tried to load Yamaha C7 grand in Mainstage, but i won't load but instead a "Organ sound" after i choose Yahama Grand. ALL the Yamaha grand in Logic could be loaded and sound perfectly ok. Could some one help me to solve my problem in Mainstage? Thanks a lot!
Hi
If all load OK in Logic, you could try saving the Channel Strips in Logic, then open them in MS?

URL not loading for Web Logic in 11g
I have installed 11.1.1.5 on RHEL 5.4 64-bit. When the initial install was done everything started and was able to access URL's. Since that time I shutdown the services and have restarted. When I run the startWebLogic.sh from the user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/bin directory, WebLogic looks to start however when I try and access the URL the page will not load. If I start all the services, I can get Answers to load at 9704, but EM and WebLogic both fail to load from 7001. I am accessing the URL from a windows server and when i type telnet myserver:7001 I get an error saying "Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: connection failed". Not sure if this is the issue as I have never seen a URL not load unless the service is not running.
In 10.1.3.3, a ADF Read Only table with row selection enabled that is created by dropping a data control onto a JSF page includes a column with radio buttons. A table in 11g TP3 does not. The 11G table does not include a selection facet nor does the data control include operations such as setCurrentRowWithKey. The same data controls in 10 provide the option of Master Table, Inline Detail Table, 11G doesn't.
If you add a Client Listener set to listen for clicks component to the 11G table, the JSF page will not load in a browser. (I used Franks example for getting data values from a column) Since my experience with JDev started with 11G TP3, I can't find what the corresponding Client Listener component is in 10.
In regards to your Complex Web Service return values notes, generating the Web Service Data Controls in 10.1.3.3 does create the nested controls to the nested objects without adding the POJO proxies. I even tried creating a POJO proxy in 11G and even it didn't provide the same table controls as 10G.
I've invested more than 2 weeks of intense use, or at least attempted use, in 11G to build a UI for consuming a multi level web service response. See threads: Re: Iterate multilevel web service response data using JDev 11G RC3..........
Getting access to the bean represented by a table row?
In short, 11G has not helped me build a solution.
I'd really like for JDev, any version, to help me build my solution for this project (which I'm now way behind on) so I'm going to give 10G a very short spin. Otherwise I'm back to hand coding in IntelliJ. From my threads, I think one can get the gist of what I'm trying to do so any suggestions, examples, tutorials (I've been through the ADF and 10G ) or help would be greatly appreciated.

You are using the latest version of drivers/software for your Maschine, Apogee, ADVC-55 and SL MkII devices
Failing that, Shut down your Mac, unplug all external devices and start up Mac. Test LPX using internal Audio and Musical Typing Keyboard with new project....
If that works normally then...
Delete both Logic's prefs and the CS prefs as detailed here...
Quit Logic Pro
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove ~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
Restart the computer.
Note:If you cannot find either of these files you did not follow all the steps exactly as described!
Now...
Plug in each of your external devices, one at a time.. restarting your Mac each time to ensure which, if any device, is the source of the problem...
Additional: You may have to install and set up your SL MkII again after deleting the CS (Control Surface) prefs
If that doesn't help then as a troubleshooting step....
Please download Etrecheck from here...
http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
..and then launch Logic Pro (But don't load up a project)
Now run Etrecheck and post up the full report here....
Thanks...

Further musings...Notes for a Logic developer regarding practical usage of
It does seem like the control section of Logic was designed specifically for the Logic control, using their own dialog and terms. I have been struggling with Logic since I switched to it, simply because I make dance music, and I rely super heavily on automation as both my style of arranging (I mute the kick drum when it drops out, I don't sequence that type of stuff) and also for simply enhancing my mixdown and giving my overall mix life. NOw, I never read the manual's section on using Logic with a M/L control, until now, and I realize when you use a MIDI controller as a control surface, you are using the mackie control interface +dialog. Now some things make a lot more sense to me, like why there are even options like flip mode etc...
Anyway, now I have a lot more perspective. I should have kept a weblog going, since for the past few months I have been banging my head against a wall, trying to wrap my head around all of this.
Now I see, I am simply not using the right gear, and Logic simply is not designed for use without a dedicated control surface, and a dialog other than Mackie protocol.
Now, this explains why there are so many confusing options when I use my Novation or 01V as a control surface.
For example, I still do not understand what track class "index" means. I thought it was the actual sequential position of the fader itself on the track mixer, so if you are looking at the mixer, the third fader from the left is index #3. This is almost NEVER the case though, and I am just not sure of what criteria is used for index track classes. Although I use that class a lot, because it is the one that make sense sometimes.
I have noticed, if some of my controller's sliders are track class "software instrument" and some are "index" I run into a lot of little glitches once I start getting intense about several automation assignments and parameters..
while assigning a series of knobs in seccession, some will be "scaled" some will be "rotate" this seems to be completely arbitrary as I am not sending any data except the CC, and I have checked using utilities like MIDI monitor as well as Logis own MIDI monitor.
I should have kept a weblog as I have been dealing with this problem for a while and might have helped apple to help me : )
Does anyone make DUB or Techno records out there? I'm talking about the live arrangement style that made King Tubby + Lee Perry started, and the DEtroit guys adapted and started calling techno... basically why all the techno guys got into Acid first, and Live next...
Thing is, I need my 64 busses and sidechain mod capabilities, so I can't go to one of these consumer DAW programs as my main.
SO these are my notes today, and if you see anything you would like to correct (as it relates to Logic and the use of Logic) Please do. If anyone has more insight about navigating through the MAckie controller assignments dialog with a midi controller, I would love to hear about it. I am still shocked after a few years at how hard it is to use a midi controller for random parameter assignments and I would LOVE to hear from someone who has succeeeded.
Thanks very much and cheers!You'll have to bear with me, because I'm doing this from memory. Like I say, I was really into exploiting these features and spent some time developing a control surface support (and I also have an MCU as well). But I gave up in the end, because it was too flaky.
Well, I can't use an MCU, I do random paramter assignments, and I don't discern
between fader, send plug in parameter, synth, etc. They are simply considered
"the ones I need to control during the arrange sessions. I need to be able to
control one or two given parameters, for a combined "total." I don't need every
sythn parameter available to me while I am writing the tune, just one or two.
Sure. You can define your own modes and use the controls on the MCU (or other conttrol surface) for whatever assignments you want, without explicitly using the regular MCU modes. So for instance, you could hit your F1 button which you've setup to go to a user mode, and have each fader, pan pot or whatever controlling different things.
However, I'm not sure that you can control multiple things on multiple plugins in different tracks/channels offhand. For instance, I can't remember offhand whether you can set up fader one to be controlling the filter cutoff of a synth on audio instrument 4, and another fader to control the filter cutoff for a synth on audio instrument 12 at the same time. You probably can, I just forget some of the finer details without going back and getting stuck in and reminding myself again (which I won't do until they fix the bugs.)
B, please tell me what you mean by dynamic as it is used to describe the index
track classes. Does this mean if I make a index track assignment then delete
some tracks from my mixer window will lose any index track class assignments following it?
I seem to remember being quite unsatisfied as to how this was implemented, at least for my purposes, because of the behaviour you mention.
Please tell me about using a generic controller which transmits CC data ONLY,
and making assignments for various track classes and parameters which are
to be controlled simultaneously when mixing down?
Yes, this was what I was developing my Korg microKontrol assignments for - developing a flexible, powerful portable little control surface.
Logic hates this, it is always hoping to be in "instrument" mode, THEn Fader
(I suppose by scrolling on an MCU) etc etc....
Er... I don't think so - I set up my own modes for my own purposes. If I hit one pad, I'd flip to my instruments mode to control my own custom set of parameters for the loaded instrument, another pad would be insert FX (again with all custom assignments to bring the most useful parameters under control), another would be a mixer layer, another would be a bus/output layer and so on. You can define zones and modes for whatever purposes you need.
Be aware that how I was developing my own setup doesn't mean our requirements are similar...
Also, I need to be able to pause playback when doing my mixdown, drastically
change many parametrs in Logic, then resume playback and writing automation,
to create an abrupt change in the song.
Yes, I'm aware of your other posts. Did you send detailed feedback to Apple on it? -
hi community,
I recently bought a new imac and migrated form my macbook pro. I'm running logic and when i opened one of my logic project files i've been working on, some files (mostly exs24 instrument files) would not load up with the project file...a message was displayed with each file that could not be "detected" with an option to "Continue" or "Search again"...if you "search again" nothing happens and if you "continue" the files ends up loaded up with the exs24 instrument on some tracks not reading the patch file? This also happened with some audio files which would not load with a logic project file? I really do not want to reinstall and risk losing anything more...please helpHi
Migration Assistant seems not to work well for some with Logic. Probably the easiest way to sort this would be to re-install the content.
You could check Library:Application Support:Logic and Library:Application Support:GarageBand for the "missing" files to see if the really are there.
If they are, it may be a Spotlight issue, which can be fixed by 're-building' the Spotlight Index.
