Logic 8.0.2 won't recognize M-audio firewire 410

Hey, I installed Logic 8.0.2 today and found that it won't recognize my sound card anymore... I updated the sound cards drivers but it still won't find it. Has anyone else experienced this??? Any solutions???

M-audio 410. Well, I´m not surprised. That device is an enemy of mine.
Hope your problem gets solved, somehow.

not if you want to use your interface

does the iO 26 require a driver? check the Alesis web site to make sure you have the latest, if it does.
if not, the first suspect would be the cable, try another FW cable.
less likely is one of the FW ports, if you have another FW device you might see if it works on the Mac, for the interface you might need to visit a music store to test it

  • NEED HELP : MacOSX / Logic pro 8 / M-audio Firewire 410

    Hi,
I'm in complete distress right now.
I have a big problem and I really don't know what it is.
I'm a professional musician and I have a kind of buzz on my hardware. Every time i try to record on my logic ...I have a buzz. Please check this link where you can hear what I'm talking about. I putted an explanation and some example on a mp3 player to make you understand better my problem.
    http://www.gemi-productions.com/yuli/squizz/index.html
If you have any idea please let me know.
    My MAC configuration :
    Mac book pro OSX 10.4.11 / 2.4 Ghz intel core duo / 2Go 667 Mhz DDR2
    Sound card M-Audio Firewire 410 / Logic Pro 8
I have all the lasted Mac update !
Thx a lot for your help.
    Nailian.

    Hi,
Back from my "rescue mission" ...
Firstable, to answer the last post, yes I tried on different computers but it was windows PC.
Anyway, I tried ...older drivers (1.8/1.7/1.7.2) ...not working.
I tried to close airport (not bluetooth cause my mouse use it) ...not working.
So I decided to buy and install Leopard ...and it's working great.
In fact, after some research my problem was a frequency problem who came from a disfunction between my card and my mac. But why this problem ...because of apple !!!
Yes It seems the last security update 2008-002 from apple can not be "trusted"
Bring a lot of problem ...as mine.
So maybe I bought leopard for nothing ...but is great too so I'm ok
Thx again for all your ideas.
    See u.

  • ITunes won't recognize my audio CD. What do I do?

I recently installed iTunes onto my computer (Dell with Windows XP), and, although I can successfully run iTunes, the program doesn't seem to recognize my CDs. I've tried multiple CDs,and none of them are recognized. THe GraceNote CDDB screen comes up, and then once that is completed, the CD doesn't show up in the sources list of iTunes. I don't think it is a problem with the drive, since the other music player (MusicMatch Jukebox)I have on my computer runs automatically once the CD is read. If someone has any suggestions to what I should do, it would be greatly appreciated.
    INFO:
    iTunes version: iTunes 6.0.1.3
    ANOTHER NOTE:
I was able to successfully run and import songs to my iPod on the previous iTunes software I had about 3 months ago, but I had to reformat the hardrive due to a virus on my computer (not from iTunes).
Dell dimension 4700   Windows XP   w/ pentium 4

    hi zerodrummer!
hmmm. first, let's try some of the usual suspects:
iTunes for Windows doesn't recognize my audio CDs
... and these resources might help with that:
Updating the drivers on your Windows PC
Where to find firmware for your CD/DVD drive
but if no joy with that, post back with the complete results of your itunes "help > run CD diagnostics" (toonz may be able to spot something amiss there.
we could also try a quick experiment. try inserting a CD with your security packages turned off. (some security software, most notably Norton Internet Security 2005, have been known to interfere with Gracenote queries in odd ways that end up manifesting as a CD recognition problem for itunes.)
    keep us posted.

  • Safari won't recognize Real Audio

I am having trouble getting safari to recognize real audio. I downloaded real audio for mac, but safari still doesn't recognize it. What can I do to remedy this?

    Hi ckermott , & all,
Though not Universal, I downloaded Realplayer v. 10.0.0 (v.352) yesterday for the intel imac, & it works great in Safari, running under Rosetta ( I see no slow down ) click on Safari in Application Folder, Get info, check the box Open using Rosetta.
This is where I downloaded it from, just follow the download steps & quitting safari, as prompts and in the Realpalyer preferences , Media type, save Media types (after it is downloaded & safafri is quit )

    Good Luck.
    Hope this helps.

  • OS 10.6.6 won't recognize USB audio input

I've connected an ION USB Turntable to the USB port on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.6 and can't get the Mac to recognize the ION as an audio input. I launch Audio Hijack Pro and it only sees the internal mic and the audio input jack. It's as if there is no USB audio source attached. I launched the Sounds control panel and get the same results. I've tried every suggestion that I've been able to find here in the Apple discussions and nothing has resolved the problem.
I've checked the ION site and they say the OS should contain everything required for the turntable to work and they offer no specific "drivers" for it. I checked Apple's support site and found nothing there either.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to use two Blue Snowball usb mics for audio input to GarageBand. When I connect them I can see both in the System Profiler (one on each hub with different location ID's) but when I go to the Audio Midi Setup utility to create an Aggregate Device I only see one listed.
    Any ideas?

  • [SOLVED] Cinnamon won't recognize my audio device

I'm currently using Cinnamon DE (2.4.5-1).
    Expected result:
    The sound applet works and shown like in "Mint" (The one I was using before arch);
Laptop FN-keys/Hardware keys can control my volume.
    I have checked / found:
Sound applet is added to the panel, but can't find it anywhere.
Alsa is confirmed working (And I can change volume through alsamixer).
Only the volume fn-keys doesn't work, others work (Such as brightness).
There's a "Alsa mixer" applet as a worked around, but the volume is not updated (Unless i change it there) and not responding to my fn-keys.
There's "Start PulseAudio" under start-up entry, I tried manually in terminal and I got
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed."
So I think there might be a conflict between the packages I have installed, or do I need to "tweak" around?
If it helps, is there any extra terminal output that I need to provide?
    Please advice, thanks.

  • Won't recognize my Audio CD's since last update?

Every CD I put into my MacBook Pro mounts as a Blank CD. I get this:
    "You've inserted a Blank CD"
Therefore I can no longer import CD's to itunes.
DVDS are fine but Audio CD's not working.

If it is an MP3 CD, just put it in the drive and copy the files to your hard drive. Then you can add them to your library.

  • Imac won't recognize mac external firewire 800 drive

iMac suddenly stopped recognizing my firewire 800 gdrives. worked this afternoon, and the drives worked on my macbook pro. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Reset the SMC > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Wait fifteen seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Then the PRAM > About NVRAM and PRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
    Reconnect your FireWire Drive.

Is this a bug, or something I can fix?

OK. OS Flavor means: Is it Win7 Home Basic or Win7 Professional or Win7 Starter Edition
m/c: machine details like Core2 Duo with 4 GB RAM...
For RealTek Audio driver: check their website for WIn7 release driver.

  • M-Audio Firewire Interface Compatibility with Logic 8

Hi, i´m getting started in the Audio business and therefor i´m trying to build a small production studio.I´m doing it around Logic Studio. I would like to know if the M-Audio Firewire audio interfaces work well with this DAW???
    Any info is welcome. Thanx

    RealDave is right.
I own an M-Audio Firewire 410, and it's OK, but has some annoying quirks. I think there are better pieces out there. LP8 is supposed to integrate well with Apogee interfaces, and although I haven't tested them out there is a lot of buzz about them on the forums. I have a MOTU Ultralite and think it is a fantastic piece. If you're looking for something small and portable with lots of routing options check it out. It's won some awards and has a lot of good press, check out their website. I've heard a lot of good things about other MOTU pieces too. My recommendation is to figure out how many ins and outs you want, how much money you want to spend, and then check out Apogee and MOTU.

  • Logic installation on second machine...  won't recognize xskey

    Hey folks,
Just got me a new imac to accompany my aging powerbook. I already have Logic Pro 7 running on the powerbook, which was installed as 6 platinum and then updated. I want to install 6 platinum on my new imac and then update it to Pro 7, but as of right now, after installing the program, it won't recognize the XSKey. I suppose this is because it's already licensed to another machine. But I thought I could run this on another machine?
Anyone wanna help a frustrated dude who's convinced this should work? This should work!!!
Any suggestions are appreciated and welcome.
    Thanks in advance
    C

Justin - you mean Apple replaced your blue key with an Apple one, but included authorisations for Logic versions prior to 7?
Yes. I was using Logic P before the XSKey existed - it would be a really bad move to not support that compatability for users of older versions, IMO. It's not like they would be granting free software since Pro consolidated all softwares.
If so, that's good news, because I'm sure they've stated in the past that they will not generate authorisations for versions before 7.
I don't know what their policy is now, this happened shortly after 7 was released ( emagic.de still existed ) - transistion phase may have ended some time ago...(?) - I wouldn't guarantee this possibility.
It does mean then that if I ever killed my key, I could keep my PC5, Mac5, Mac6Pro and Mac7Pro authorisations intact on a replacement key, which is reassuring.
Since the XSKey# is unique, you would have an entirely new set of auth #s - if they don't support that anymore ( based on what you have read... ) - I wouldn't be 100% certain that the auths would be delivered in your scenario. But, it was possible at one time during Apple branded Logic. Some hope there.

  • How do i install the 9.1.6 update if it won't recognize my 9.0.2 software

I just updated to Lion, and went to open my Logic Pro only to see, "You can't use this version of the application Logic Pro 9.0.2 with this version of Mac OS X." After I downloaded the 9.1.6 update package, I tried to open it but was told that there was not an eligible version of logic pro in my applications folder. When i looked to open the installer again, I saw logic pro 9.0.2 right above it. It is there but the instaler wont read it. Whats up?

Make sure the app is named "Logic Pro", no number in the name or anything else.  If the name has been changed it won't recognize it for updates.  Also, the app needs to be in the Applications folder (and not a subfolder of it) but it sounds like yours is in the right place.

  • G3 won't recognize Internal IDE hard drive!

I'm trying to resuscitate a B&W G3 mac (rev. 1) from a Goodwill, and I've gotten it to boot from a G3 installation CD with OS 8 on it, but it won't recognize the sole 27GB IBM ATA/IDE drive I have plugged into it. (The previous owner held onto the mac's original drive.) My drive used to be the master drive in my Quicksilver G4. (I erased and reformatted the drive prior to moving it out of the G4.) I've tried adjusting the drive's jumper configurations, but no matter what, the Mac won't recognize the drive & allow the OS to be installed on it.
Why is this happening? Is this some kind of logic board failure? Will I need to reformat my drive in some special way? Will I see results if I invest in a ATA-133/100 PCI controller card and plug my drive in there?
    B&W G3 300Mhz   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier   256MB RAM

When the drive was in the G4, you formatted it as a Mac OS Extended (HFS+) volume, which is imperative with a drive of that size. If formatted as a Mac OS Standard (HFS) volume, the drive's storage capacity would be squandered with small files parked in excessively oversized allocation blocks. When you referred to using a G3 CD with OS 8, do you mean OS 8, 8.1, or 8.5.1? A CD with OS 8.0 would pre-date the beige G3s, and OS 8.0 doesn't provide support for HFS+ volumes. If the CD has "G3" printed on it and contains OS 8.1, it's intended for use with a beige G3, because the earliest B&W G3s shipped with OS 8.5.1. If your boot CD has OS 8.5.1, then the problem is undoubtedly related to the Rev. 1 IDE controller's lack of support for large drives. A much-smaller IDE (4 - 8 GBs) drive or a Mac-compatible ATA controller card will solve the problem.

Not so sure Logic 8 is compatible with Mavericks:
