Logic 8 Plugins GUI

I seem to be missing the GUI for channel strip plugins/inserts. I used Logic 7 at my university, and it came complete with fun interfaces for them, but on my Logic 8, I have these.

There's that square at the bottom right of controls; does it mean that the images/settings are missing? Where should they be in the file system?
Thanks very much for any answers.

I think they are embedded in the Logic pro app. Try a reinstall.

  • Where is "Editor"-Comtrols View in top of Plugin GUI?

Normally I work on Logic Pro 7.2.3 and today I am working on a Logic Express 7.2.3 system.
In Logic Pro, when using plugins, at the top of any plugin GUI, there is an "Editor" button which lets me switch between Editor View or Controls View.
Today in using Logic Express 7.2.3, I am not seeing that Editor button in the GUI of any plugins I am using. Am I just overlooking something obvious, and missing how to access Controls View in Express plugins, or is this button (Editor) only available in Logic Pro?
Again, my apologies if I am staring right at it and missing how to access it, but I don't see it.
    Thanks for any tips!

As far as I know, there is no full screen mode in the Editor.
For double-checking image optimizations, there's no substitute for using the "Actual Pixels" view, even though it requires a lot of scrolling....

  • How to design application to decouble business logic from GUIs on SAP N7.0

    Hi guys,
How should I go about designing a program, so that I can decouple the business logic from GUI in ABAP in such a way that I can change the GUI easily or use different GUIs eg. on a scanner etc..

You may use BDT (business data toolset). It's rather complex. Or use web dynpro but also complex. Or you can program it by yourself (much less difficult).

  • Separating application logic from GUI

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this question. I know that It's a very bad practice to embed application logic in GUI code, they have to be separated and communicate in some way. I've read somewhere that they need a kind of an adapter class or a knowledge of design patterns, which I actually don't have.
Could someone direct me to a nice tutorial, which explains this issue? Thank you.

hey KidJava, here is something about separating application logic from GUI ...

  • Many logic plugins failing validation

I am running logic 9.1.7 on osx 10.6.8
many logic plugins failing validation including those that worked before.   Also I find those same plugins are working fine in ableton live.  I just installed updates for many native instruments plugins and installed spectrasonics omnisphere.
now all my native instrument, waves, and spectrosonics plugins crash during the validation phase.  Also uhe plugins like zebraCM crash.
I go into the Audio Units manager and select one of the native instrument plugins that works fine in ableton live and it crashes upon validation.  what is the best way to troubleshoot this problem?
    Cheers.

    Hi,
First you should(if you can) change your title. "Logic plugins" don't need validation. They're part of the program. Second, you should trace where your problems began. Ableton might be using the VST versions of all your plugins, that's why they're working fine in Live. Logic uses the AU versions of those plugins.
If your problems began when you updated the plugins, i doubt that all those companies' AU updates are bogus. So, it looks to me like you either have a problem at the core of your OSX installation, or(without accusing you of anything) the "place" where you got your updates didn't do a good job at cracking the AU versions. Good luck.
P.S. An easy way of checking if it's Logic or OSX would be to load these plugins in GarageBand. If they load up fine in GB, you have a problem at the Logic app level...

  • Problems w/ Logic Pro 8 plugins GUI

    hello all,
I am setting up a small pre-production studio at home....I have installed Logic Pro 8 and all of the updates on my Mac Mini 2.0GHz proscessor w/ 2Gb of RAM. Logic Pro 8 is working just fine. I haven't yet installed any third party plug-ins at all. But the GUI to ALL of the plugins that come standard with Logic Pro 8 does not appear. The plugins is recognized and i can playback sound and eveything, but the GUI to "all" of the plug-ins will not display.....I have tried removing the preferences and I checked to make sure that my displays meet the required settings for Logic.....Can someone please help me with this? Has anyone had this problem? I would really appreciate some feedback asap.....
system: mac mini (os x 10.5.3)
software: logic pro 8 w/ current updates

Yes, everybody who tries to run Logic Pro 8 on Mavericks. It does not work!
Either do not use Mavericks, or upgrade Logic Pro to a newer version - I think everything after 9.1.5 seems to work. Logic Pro X - of course - also works on Mavericks.

  • Waves plugins GUI messed up now, anyone else ?

When waves plugins are used now, the GUI is messed up. Major parts of the graphics are missing. The plugin opens and even process audio but impossible to edit parameters graphically. The waves plugins work famously with Logic Pro 8.01. Not sure if this is a result of going to 10.4.11, or the last PPC pro app software update, or both. Any solutions out there ?

I too am experiencing this problem. I have reloaded Logic and the latest Waves update, and have not had any change in the GUI appearance. Has anyone been able to correct this problem. I am told that I can't go back to a previous OS without reloading the works, which in my case includes numerous authorizations etc. Yikes! Strangely, the Waves plugins are fine in Logic. What the....?!

  • Logical database GUI status

    Hello everyone.
Is there a way to change the GUI status guy status of a logical database?
    thank you in advance.

    Hi Ebaristo,
    REPORT demo_sel_screen_status .
DATA itab TYPE TABLE OF sy-ucomm.
    PARAMETERS test(10) TYPE c.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
      APPEND: 'PRIN' TO itab,
              'SPOS' TO itab.
      CALL FUNCTION 'RS_SET_SELSCREEN_STATUS'
           EXPORTING
                p_status  = sy-pfkey
           TABLES
                p_exclude = itab.
In this example program, the two functions Print and Save as Variant are disabled. You can find the function codes of the default GUI status in the field GUI Status which you can display by choosing System u2192 Status.

  • Will non-universal-binary Logic+plugins run on an Intel Mac?

    Hi,
this may sound like a dumb question, but I haven't found a straightforward answer on this question yet: will my Logic 7.1 (not Universal Binary) install on an Intel-Mac?? Our local Mac store expected that Rosatta will take care of everything, and that only performance will suffer a bit.
That would mean that all non-universal-binary plugins would run, too??!!
    Just curious...
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Jaap
eMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Logic Express

    Hi Jaap,
    In a word, nope!
It seems you're more informed than your local dealer, :o)
Rosetta will not handle the plug-ins & third party (AU) need the (U B) upgrades. You need the 7.2 (U. Binary) to run logic on the new Intel machines.
    Best regards,

  • HT201250 Time Machine migrate to a new Macbook Pro and keeping Logic plugins

So, I'm getting a new macbook pro (the latest 15" with the highest spec) and I'm looking to transfer everything using Time Machine, so that it's as if I'm still using the same machine. I use Logic 9 and I have hundreds of expensive plugins and I want to be sure that they will transfer across and I won't need to buy any of them again. I appreciate that some may have compatabiity issues, but that aside, will everything transfer as if I'm using the same machine and it will all be exactly the same?

    Hello there, micchaelfrombarnes.
As per the article you were referred to us from, Time Machine should be able to restore your new MacBook  to be just like your current one:
Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
Time Machine automatically backs up your entire Mac, including system files, applications, accounts, preferences, email messages, music, photos, movies, and documents.
    Additionally:
Migrating a Time Machine backup to a new Mac
When you get a new Mac, you can transfer all of your applications, files, settings, and other information from a Time Machine backup you've already made. When you start up your new Mac for the first time, the Setup Assistant asks you if you would like to restore from backup. If you've already set up your new Mac, you can use theMigration Assistant (located in Applications/Utilities) to do the same thing.
After Migration Assistant completes the transfer and you select your existing Time Machine backup drive, you will be prompted with "Inherit Backup History". Once selected you will be able to continue to use your existing Time Machine backup on your new Mac.
For a more detailed instruction on how to migrate the data from your Time Machine backup, refer to this article:
OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Logic plugins ok one min, then " / " thru them next time I open the project

Hi everyone. I am just finished up the final mix on an album produced in Logic. I just opened a project to find that a bunch of my Logic (non-external) plugins have a big " / " through them. I can see what plugin's they are, but it wont let me open them and they won't function.
What happened?? Am I able to get them back somehow?? I already closed the project without saving and tried re-opening it but it didn't work. Help Anyone have the same problem?

Try this: go to *Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio>Devices>Coreaudio*
UNtick Enabled, REtick enabled, click *Apply Changes,* close prefs. Plugs back?

  • Dissapearing plugin GUI's

    Hi
I managed to alter a setting in the preferences,
that was supposed to speed up application loading time by
using "blank" load up screens (i.e- the "This application is loading" screen)appears white, instead of the usual GUI.
However, in Cubase SX it decides to produce "blank" plugin screens too, this means you cannot edit any parameters!
    Please help me undo this!
    Thanks
    [email protected]

I you know very little about GUI, I am afraid you will have to learn at least a very little more about it.
Have a look in the SWING online tutorial, how to create a Frame, display TextFields and password text fields.
You also have to learn about JDBC for your database connection. Good luck, all that is very well explained.

  • The best Logic Plugins around!?!?

Hello, I am looking into getting some awesome plugins for Logic Pro 8.
Which would you recommend for each of the following types of sounds?
    Piano
    Guitar
    Drums
    Strings
    Woodwinds
*And other cool ones that I should know*
Anything that you use would be great help, websites would be even better, thanks
    TSnail

Here's a few more for your list:
Soundtoys Native (Echoboy / Filterfreak / Crystalizer etc)
    - this is a collection of delay / chorus and multi-fx plugins. I think they can best be described as the plugin version of the Eventide Ultraharmonizer series...in a word - incredible.
    Ohm Force - Ohmicide
    - the craziest distortion plugin - great for creating unique sounds. I would suggest that all Ohm Force stuff is worth a look - be prepared to get the manual out though
As for instruments, I'd say that Spectrasonics' Trilogy is still tough to beat for bass sounds - although you should check for compatibility with your system...

  • Logic Plugin Interfaces for iPad?

Does anyone think that Apple can/will develop it's own Logic interface for iPad? A full version of Logic would be underpowered on the iPad, but a WiFi interface with 8 mixer channels and especially a full-screen version of all of Logic's included instruments and processing plugins with the original graphics would be an obvious and fairly simple iPad application!

    Hi Mobus,
I've been (keenly) looking at picking up this software so I'd appreciate your review of it. I know it's so cheap I should just buy it and try it, but on principle I'd rather get some insight from users first.
My biggest concern is latency. I've read (and seen demos on youtube) where they say that the latency is not bad but also not exactly lightning fast. I don't really care so much about just visual (display) latency, but I am really concerned about using it for actual automation. If you're automating with it, do you find that moving the faders actually writes your automation data late, or is it spot-on, or at least close enough to not be able to obviously tell?
I've read reports of one user connecting it via sharing wifi directly from the computer, rather than just going via the wifi server (ie, the regular ADSL/wifi box most people have) by default. He said that it was far more reactive working this way. Have you tried this or are you satisfied that it's fine without it?
I know, it's only 7.99€ so I should really just buy it and try it myself. But I'd appreciate your views on it before I do so.
    Cheers!
