Logic 9.1.3 not opening?

I have to force quit a few times and finally it opens.
Any ideas why? I am on OS X 10.6.6

I'm having the SAME issue. Did you figure it out? I spent 2 hours on the phone with ProAudio AppleCare today. They were great, but did not end up figuring it out. I re-installed Logic. I re-installed Snow Leopard. I ran Disk Utility. Something is up with my System. Spotlight won't index properly. I'm now faced with wiping my System driving and re-installing everything. It will take me at least one day re-install all my plugs.
Anyone have any ideas?

Logic Pro 9 documents not opening after installation of Lion (10.7)

Since I installed Lion (OSX 10.7), I'm having a problem opening my Logic Pro (9.1.4) files. Any file I open, I receive the following error message: "The Document (name XXXX) could not be opened".
I have to find another logic document or the original app. in the Application folder, higilight it and/or open it, then go back to the original file and open it.
Can someone tell me why this is happening???

i have recently been making music and mixing in logic. now its deciding not to open and just loads and i have to force quit

It does help as it might explain what has gone wrong with your upgrade...
Unfortunately there is no easy solution for this problem.. I have seen it several times in the past with my clients... and in reality, the only real fix is to start from scratch with Mountain Lion as i describe in this thread....

Sorry.. I know it is a huge pain in the butt.... but apart from going back to Snow Leopard and using Logic Pro 9.1.8 with that (Which you can do if you made full backups before you upgraded) this method is really your only solution I'm afraid to say.... as it seems your upgrade 'screwed the pooch' so to speak....

Logic Express 8 will not open Garageband 3 files

Is this a known issue or user error? I can navigate to the files but they are grayed out and will not open. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much. Dragging the file to the icon and dropping it there opened the GarageBand file right up. I wasn't able to use the tweak listed in the preferences section (ie: deleting the com.apple file as recommended) since the file doesn't exist in the first place. I wonder if there's a more stable fix on the way?
And for my peanut gallery comment - would be nice to "save as" a garageband file, too.

Saved Logic 9 projects will not open.

Hi all, wondering how many other people are running into this issue. Basically ever since I upgraded to Lion, none of the projects I save in Logic Pro 9 (updated to 9.1.6) will open when I double click on them. Logic will launch just fine to my default template, but it tells me that the project I wanted to access cannot be open. If I leave Logic open, I can open the correct project from the file menu, as well as by right clicking on the dock icon and selecting it.
But no luck just opening them when Logic is not running first. Anyone else seeing this?

Logic Pro 8 Will Not Open

I just installed Logic Studio including Logic Pro 8 (Of course)
And it doesn't open, as soon as it finishes loading it shuts down.

Logic Pro 9 Will Not Open - Crashes Immediately - HELP!

When I run the Anteres Harmony Evo plug in, i usually expect Logic to crash. It usually does the 1st time I use it in a session, so I save my progress before doing so. This time I saved before, and as it was opened. It crashed right after I chose the scale I was to be working with for the harmonies. I went to re-open, but since I saved while the plug in was on top, it continues to crash immediately upon opening. I even tried removing the iLock USB key so it would then recognize that Anteres CANNOT be opened so i click "Quit" on the Anteres pop up, but then Logic will crash right after. What are some options?! I've got around 20 hours into this, so for me, it's a must to get back.

Logic Pro 8 not opening project file

Logic Pro 8 is not opening a project file of mine. As Logic is loading, I am watching the "progress" window which reveals all of the audio and sample files from the project as they are loading up. There is a particular .caf file that seems to get the moving grey and white bar stuck in the "progress" window. As a result, the project won't open. Prior .caf files appeared to load with no problem, so I used Sherlock and found the .caf file on my hard drive. Somehow, it's not being noticed by Logic during load up. Is there anyway to bypass the loading of certain audio files so I can at least get the Project open? I did a lot of editing that I would REALLY hate to lose. If I can get the project file open then I could place the audio back in later. When I found the problem .caf, Apple Loop Utility opened and revealed the file as being modified on 11/3/2010. All I did was drag the file to the arrange window. It wasn't cut or split in the window; so I am unsure as to what the "modification" could be. This may be contributing to why Project file won't open. Any help on how I could get the Project to open (despite the problem .caf flile) would be greatly appreciated.

Logic will not open files created with earlier versions?

Logic Pro 9 will not open willnot open files created in earlier versions advising that attempts should be mad using Logic pro 7. My Mac Pro wil not open this version of Logic "because PowerPC applkcations are no longer supported." Any help would be very much appreciated since I need to have books reprinted.

Logic Pro 8 fails to open

Hi would really appreciate a little help! i was running Logic 8 with Massive and seem to have had a problem and now LP8 fails to open, have tried deleting massive & logic an reinstalling Logic but still will not open.
Comes up with two error messages,, First:

Press Shift + Control and run Logic ….it'll start in AU Safe mode,
this will only load the AU units that have passed the Audio Units validation,although the error message you get doesn't say that Massive has failed validation…maybe it'll allow you to load logic and run the AU Manager and see the status of Massive there.
You can uninstall Massive using [Appcleaner|http://www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner> enable Smart Delete in the preferences so that it also deletes all files associated with Massive.
Install Massive again.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Not able to install Logic on mac with OSX. 10.8.2. Error message: Logic Studio.mpkg cannot be opened as the power pc programs are no longer supported. I have logic studio 8 software purchased in 2007 and upgraded with logic studio 9 (purchased in 2009)

After an earlier attempt to move Logic from my other mac (OSX 10.6.8) with the migration assistant to my new mac with OSX 10.8.2. I've re-started the whole start up process by erasing the hard drive from the new machine and build it up from scratch. After a new "out of the box" start, I decided to install LOGIC from my disks : starting with my 2007 package Logic Studio 8 and upgrading with my Logic 9 package from 2009. When trying to start to install 2008 I got the error message : Logic Studio.mpkg cannot be opened as the power pc programs are no longer supported.
What does this mean? HOw do I get this working under 10.8.2 as it works flawlessly under OSX 10.6.8. For sure I didn't buy a new machine to have OSX 10.8.2 but I suspect this is the roadblock to installing my logic package.

I completely lost the thread (I actually got confused between you and another poster on a another forum that was asking the same basic question) and somehow ended up thinking you were trying to install on a PPC Mac
My apologies and please ingnore those parts of my last post relating to the PPC Macs...
You have an Intel Mac and therefore Logic Studio 2 Boxed Upgrade set should install/run on your Mac without issue. As I said earlier.. you do not need to try and install from the original Logic Studio 1 /Logic 8 Boxed set...(It won't work anyhow because you have an Intel Mac and that version had a PPC installer) but just install from the Logic Studio 2 / Logic Pro 9 Upgrade Boxed setof DVDs instead...
Have you tried the "Make Disk Image" solution I gave earlier? That normnally works under such circumstances as what you are describing can happen when your DVD drive cannot read the DVDs correctly... I have had this situation myself where one drive read them okay and another failed to do so for whatever reason. Making and then installing from Disk images of those exact same disks resolved the issue for me...
You can try to reinstall directly from the DVDs of course though under some circumstances it may not allow you to reinstall Logic Pro itself if that part of the original installation attempt was successful... in which case you can also try this... (It's probably the easiest method if Logic 9 was already installed and present in your Apps Folder)
If the Logic Pro App is in your applications folder..
Run Software Updates to update Logic Pro to a version that will run under 10.8.2 (The initially installed version of Logic will not)
Run Logic
Go to the menu bar in Logic and select Logic Pro/Install Additional Content and select all content in there..
This content is basically exactly the same as what is stored on the remaining DVDs of the boxed set so you might not need to use the rest of the DVDs to install from but download it all instead from Apple Servers...
