Compatibility
Logic can now open songs created by GarageBand for iPad.
Performance and Stability
Logic now provides more specific messaging when playback is stopped because of hard drive performance issues.
Resolves an issue in which Logic sometimes performed very slowly after a project that was saved without assets was consolidated.
Logic no longer quits unexpectedly when copying, pasting, or swapping voices between slots in Ultrabeat.
64-bit Mode
Resolves an issue in 64-bit mode in which a generic interface for some 32-bit plug-ins was displayed.
Automation
Resolves an issue in which moving a region to a different Arrange track assigned to the same channel strip could cause automation to be deleted.
Drag-copy of automation curves now works as expected on grouped tracks.
Moving an automation node that lies between two other nodes of the same value to the left or right no longer causes it to decrease by -0.1 db in value.
Resolves an issue introduced in Logic 9.1 in which performing Undo after using the "Move Visible Track Automation to Region" command would delete the automation.
Audio Editing
Resolves an issue in which performing Undo after creating an alias for a region would shorten the region in No Overlap mode.
Audio Regions that contain slashes in the name can now be successfully merged using the Glue Tool or Merge command.
Quantization of audio regions that have stretched or compressed and contain tempo information now works reliably.
Quantize and Q-Strength now work properly on regions created by exporting a Comp from a Take Folder.
Resolves an issue where lengthening an audio region could sometimes cause the audio to unexpectedly stretch.
Performing Undo after flattening Takes on a group of flexed tracks now works as expected.
Takes no longer sometimes display as soloed when their parent Take folder is disclosed but not selected.
Resolves an issue in which moving a take region with Quick Swipe Comping disabled sometimes did not move the corresponding take region(s) in tracks within the same Edit Group.
Fixes an issue in which dividing a take region that had been created by merging several take regions together could cause the area to the right of the edit to disappear.
Resolves an issue in which moving a take region with Quick Swipe Comping disabled sometimes did not move the corresponding take region(s) in tracks within the same Edit Group.

Logic required to findout "Release To Date" of the Purchase order

Hi
We are developing a custom program to release purchase orders as per clients requirements. In that, in the output, we need to display the "Release To Date" of the purchase order. Consider the release codes are R1,R2& R3, and currently the PO is released by R1, then we need to show "Release To Date" as R1. Simillerly once R2 also released the PO, we need to show "R1 R2" in the Release To Date field. This you can see in the Release Tab of the PO.
Now we need to adopt the same logic in our custom program also. Which table i can find the release to date details. The latest release code of the PO also good enough to build the logic to findout the "Release To Date"
Any pointers would be of great help.

i was shocked today when i called up logic westfields to hear that there are no plans to make
a physical product of logic pro X :?
Now i understand some people don't mind which way they get software but i think as a customer
i like the idea of ordering or going to pick up a small package containing logic or other programs.
is this is the new bleek future? :/

Thanks for the input octopi... Actually I am addressing the users. If enough of us complain loudly enough and their sales start dropping maybe Apple will listen. Or not. At least they seem to have finally fixed the download manager in Logic Pro X. I agree with you that the people running Apple obviously don't read these forums and don't care what we, the users, think about their products, delivery methods or anything else for that matter. I do remember a day when Apple wasn't what it is today and was literally on the edge of bankruptcy. Jobs came back, pointed their stupid pointy-headed management back on track and here comes the "i" everything days. Well, Steve's gone (bless his soul) and I haven't seen any new innovations come out of Apple since he left? the company. Oh yeah, they've had tons of putting a new wig on all of their old stuff and calling it new but nothing truly revolutionary has been created. From the looks of things they will continue to get away with this since everyone just goes gaga over anything Apple but reality bites and fads have a way of passing. Now it's a watch... golly gee I know I'm gonna go stand in line and git me one... A freak'n watch! I don't need no stink'n watch! Maybe I'll go back to Ableton for my music needs...

Key commands in Logic 8

Can anyone confirm this:
I have always used the key command "ctrlshift1" to attach "staccatto" to a note in score.
If I now use this key command now, I only get screenset 1, no matter what I do.
Could this be related to the scandinavian localization? (shortcuts in scandinavian localization were an issue in Logic 7 until they released a fix)

Logic 8 is not properly reporting KC conflicts here in my system. I have spent a few hours eye checking for different KC assigned to same key combinations. Now everything seems to work fine.
Maybe you have a third kc assigned to ctrl + shift + 1 thats causing logic to behave that way. You could try to reproduce this from a fresh initialized LP8's KC.

HT5421 Logic Pro 8 and OS 10.8.2 ?

Hi there, I want to installed Logic Pro 8 ( an upgrade version ) on my Macbook Pro with OS 10.8.2 and when I click on the installer on the DVD, the message is : You can’t open the application “LogicStudio.mpkg” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is that mean that it is no compatible ? what can I do ? Thanks.

I had this issue as well.
Check your Logic 8 packaging and see if you see "Universal Binary" written on the back or spine of the box.
Logic 8 in later releases was both PowerPC and Intel supported. However I get the error "cannot run PowerPC applications" on OS 10.8 on my new MacBookPro.
The cause of this is most likely that the installer was a PowerPC application, and Apple assumed at the time you could just run Rosetta for the installation.
Solution: install Logic 8 on an older Mac, run a Timemachine backup of your mac, then plug your Timemachine harddrive into your new mac and run Migration Assistant (Under Utilties)
Works perfect, even the plugins and Apple Loops carry over. It works 100% perfectly good. If you have the "Universal Binary" version there is no need to buy Logic 9.
I wasn't really "wow'd" with the new features of 9 and thought I would hold off until 10 to upgrade. This was 3 years ago. I still use Logic but it's amazing how cutting edge it used to be, and how far Pro Tools and Cubase and FL studio have come in the mean time.

1) I had set release procedure already for contract and purchase order. Whenever i do po w.r.to contract, i have to release both contract and PO to do GRN. For example, consider vendor X and Y, i have contract for these 2 vendors and i have released that contract too. When i raise PO w.r.to that contract with vendor X and Y, it should not ask for release. How could i set that and where can i do that particularly for that two vendor X and Y? For remaining vendors, it should ask for release at PO level also. kindly suggest me please.
2) Normally if we set message determination for PO, we can see print preview before release also. I would like to see the print preview after release of that PO. Before release of that PO, it should not show me the print preview. How could i set that ? Kindly suggest me please.
3) I am having 400 plants, if i want to maintain 400 sloc for those plants correspondingly. Do i need to do that manually or is there any tcode to create sloc in mass ?
Kindly clear my doubt please.

Use development by using BADI in PO.
us logic check field FRGKE(release status) in EKKO.

No PO Creation without PR release strategy

Hi all,
Is there any way of preventing a user from creating a PR on which no release strategy is applied (i.e. no release strategy exists for that user) and then creating a PO from it?

This is standard functionality of SAP that whenever PR is not subjected to release strategy PO can be created against that PR.

If ur requirement is like that, u can develope a BADI with logic that, if no release strategy is triggered for PR, then PO can not be created

Scheduled job not getting executed on a logical standby

Hello,
We have created a job(through dbms_scheduler API). The job is enabled and shows up in the SCHEDULERJOBS view also.
However the job does not get executed. I looked into the following tables there was no relevant entry found for the aforesaid job:
select * from all_scheduler_job_log
select * from dba_scheduler_running_jobs
select * from DBA_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS order by log_date desc
Is there any limitation that we cannot execute scheduled jobs on a logical standby database. If i execute the relevant program (that is configured to be run as job in this scenario) as an individual procedure from SQL plus, it gets executed successfully implying there is no errors/problem in the subprogram that the job is going to invoke.

Thanks for your response.
As per the app design, the job invokes a stored program(that maps to a stored procedure present in standby db itself) that reads the data from standby and populates the relevant tables/entities in another database(third db, not primary or standby) which acts as a repository. No write operations are to be performed on standby.
So, i have two doubts:
-- Can scheduled jobs execute on logical standby db[Oracle release 10g(R2)]
I was going through few of the oracle docs and it is mentioned that this is a known limitation in 10g
R2 release and has been corrected in 11g. Now we have something called database_role
attribute that needs to be set to 'LOGICAL STANDBY' if you need to execute a job on
standby. However it is available in 11g onwards.
-- If there is no workaround for the above mentioned problem in 10g-R2 release.
Then we may have to schedule a job from third db instance that shall invoke the program(residing on the standby db). Can we have a scheduled job which executes a program that maps to a remote stored procedure instead of local stored procedure?

Hi,
I don't think there is standard settings where u can restrict PR changes when the PO corresponding to this is released.
You have 2 options: One is to restrict all the changes once the PR is released. This can be done in the release indicator (Changeability - 1). Once this is set, PR cannot be changed after release irrespective of whether PO is created or released.
Second option is to go for an enhancement (You may use ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST) and write a logic to see the release indicator of corresponding PO and restrict the changes.

Is there an upgrade path from Logic Pro 9 to Logic Pro X?

I convinced a friend to purchase Logic Pro 9, not knowing version X was about to be released 3 weeks later. Even though upgrade path always crosses my mind prior to a software purchase, I was not worried - this was Apple. Now it's looking like there's not a built-in upgrade path at all (as there IS with just about every other software company I have bought from). Is this for real? This friend has version 9, and I have version X. So this friend learned everything there is to know about version 9, then I bought version X not even knowing we were out of synch on versions. We were hoping to work on songwriting together, but paying $200 again is out of the question. I notice that the file save under version X has extension .logicx, so is it even possible to exchange files?

You can open Logic Pro 9 projects in LPX but not the other way around.
Apple wouldn't even give me a refund on Logic Pro X (purchased just 3 days ago), which is useless to me now.
There are no refunds from the App Store... That is what you agreed to when you purchased a license for LPX.
Your choice is simply for your friend to update to Logic Pro X or use the audio stem process I outlined earlier (Not something i would recommend doing for any period of time)... or spend even more money on purchasing two copies of a different DAW... and taking the time to learn them and spending time converting over what your friend has already created... and hope your friend hasn't been using the internal plugins found only in Logic Pro... otherwise you have even more work to do...
The reality is, the sensible solution is simply to upgrade LP9 to LPX for $200... (and think of it as the upgrade price even though you can buy the full version for the same amount but that really doesn't matter does it?) Less outlay, less time lost and less hassle, but as always the choice is yours...
I have never, EVER, encountered a software company that treated customers that way.

You bought LPX at a price that is basically a steal.... and your friend bought LP9 at the same 'deal' of a price.. compared to what Logic Pro used to cost ($1000)
You can 'upgrade' from LP9 to LPX for $200 which is much cheaper than it used to cost to upgrade from , say LP8 to LP9... and the same price as it cost to upgrade to LP9 via the App Storeprior to the release of LPX
The alternatives at this stage would cost you much more money......time.. and hassle..
The only things that truly frustrating is the timing of your friend's purchase of LP9... For that he has my sympathies but it happens... Some people who bought Logic Pro 9 within a month of Logic Pro X being released were given refunds on the LP9 purchase if they bought LPX... Your friend just left it way too late.... Apple has since stopped such refunds.... and you didn't do the research you should have done before you jumped in and bought LPX... Unfortunate but sadly true.
Again, you and your friend have my sympathies for whatever they are worth... but at least the obvious solution is still cheap compared to what the alternatives could cost you now and in the past!

In DP we did not maintain the factory calendar because in SNP side there is different calendar for different location,
Requirement is to Release to R/3 and SNP the Final demand from DP,
When it is releasing from DP in Nonworking day it is releasing in future working bucket in SNP and Release to r/3 it is releasing in past working bucket, so issue is R/3 PIR and APO PIR dates will not be match, Can you please suggest this
Is there logic/functional module to release to SNP in previous working bucket?

Logic Pro 9 not showing on "Purchases" at Mac App Store anymore

I'm planning buy a new Mac, but I have Logic Pro 9.1.8, and when I open the "Purchases" (from Mac App Store) I can not find it there any more since Logic Pro X was released. How should I proceed? I don't wanna buy the new version right now, maybe later.
Is there a nice way to backup it up and move to the new Mac? Because as I said, it's gone from my purchases since Logic Pro X was released, and I have only one Apple ID account. And even old things like the Mac OS X Lion Server I bought is there. But strangely Apple removed Logic Pro from my account "purchases"... I spend 180 bucks on that.
PS: I know that I can move it using Time Machine. But my computer is a bit messy, so I would like to install Logic Pro 9 again from the Mac App Store if it's still possible. Sometimes a fresh new install is the better way to start a new computer, because my experiences with Time Machine are that sometimes you can also migrate problems from an old to a new computer. So I would prefer some advice about how to move only Logic Pro 9 and nothing else... because the rest I can install from scratch. :-)

Considering that Logic Pro 8 was released years before Lion, I would call it "pure luck", if it runs well - I would assume that it is untested by Apple, because they probably only tested Logic Pro 9 on Lion (and released an update for it).
However if you have Lion 10.7.2 installed, Logic Pro 8 at least launches just fine.
