I recently moved all my logic audio sessions to a back up hard disk. Also updated to Loin OSX. My Stylus RMX is not working. I get a message Missing Element on Part 1...Currently not installed on their computer or has been moved to a different folder. Any help out there?

    Hi
Sounds like you may have moved the RMX library folder?
Is RMX fully updated (for Lion)?
Check your hard drives for a file called SAGE:
It (or an alias of it) is normally found in the <USER>:Library:Application Support:Spectrasonics.
Note that on Lion, the <User> Library is 'hidden'... quickest way to get there is to hold down Option (Alt) whilst using the Finder:Go menu

First of all, a G5 computer uses a Motorola processor, not an Intel.
There's no such thing as an Intel G5.
    I found this:

  • Trade Windows Logic Audio Silver 4.8 for any Mac version

I know this is a long shot, but I thought I'd try. I originally bought eMagic's Logic Audio Silver (Apple bought them) when I only had a Windows PC. It never really worked well because my PC was way too slow.
Now I've got a G5 and I'd like to run Logic on it, but they only upgraded users who had verion 5 and greater, so I'm SOL, unless I want to buy another copy.
I'm hoping maybe somebody out there wants to run Logic on their PC at work and doesn't really want to buy the PC version.

I suggest e-bay and buy yourself a copy of Logic 7... I would be very, very surprised if anyone here takes you up on that offer!

  • Loading project files from Logic Audio 3.5 to Logic Express 8

I have been using an old Mac and a very old version of Logic (Logic Audio 3.5) for years now. I recently upgraded to a MacBook and to Logic Express 8. The user manual tells me that Logic Express 8 will load project files back to version 5. I have a number of recording projects semi-complete, in progress, or on hold and having to import individual audio files for each will be a major undertaking. Any suggestions on how I can import projects into my new set-up quickly and easily? I was diligent about keeping all files in separate folders on my old Mac - so all related files for a given project should be found in the same folder.

Yes. Logic 7 can import Songs in version 4 format. If you have Songs in that format, it only takes a few seconds to open & re-save each Song, & when you do they will be in version 5 format, which Logic 8 can read.
However, if your Songs pre-date version 4, your task will be much harder… you will have to find someone somewhere running a version of Logic that can read these, which at a guess would mean someone running System 9.2.2 or earlier!
As for speeding up your workflow… the conversion is quick, but updating old Songs to a contemporary setup will take as long as you're willing to spend on it!
(To be clear: when you convert, nothing changes except the Song version. All your assets — Audio files etc. — will still be looked-for in the same places.)

When you buy a used computer, the only software you buy with it is what was originally shipped with it, plus any commercial software for which you are given the original installer disks, serial numbers, authorization codes if any, and formal transfer of the software's registration with its developer from the prior owner to you. Whatever other commercial software you may find installed on the computer is not yours to use. You won't be able to reinstall it if you ever need to, so it has a fair market value of zero, and you shouldn't be willing to pay anything for it — any more than you'd be willing to pay for other goods that you know are stolen.

  • OT: looking for Logic Audio for Windows XP

Apologies for the crass request, but I'm looking a cheap copy of Logic Audio that will run on Windows XP. I just found some old Logic Audio recordings I did years ago, but I've lost my LAGW 4 CD, and in any case, I'm not sure if LAGW 4 even worked on Windows XP .... I've come to love Macs at work, but I haven't saved enough to make the move at home.
    Thanks,
    Kevin Murphy

I assume the key you refer to is analogous to the dongle I have for LAGW, and it sounds as if you are not willing to part with yours . I don't care much about stability, since my main interest at the moment is to do an audio track dump (with edits) and MIDI export so I can continue working in Cubase in the near term. Contact me at [email protected] if you are willing to help me out. Otherwise, I'll keep looking. It's frustrating ... there must be many thousands of people out there with unused copies of Logic Audio for Windows, especially since it was never very stable, even on Windows 95 .

  • Logic Audio 6 installation software

This is a longshot, since it relates to the pre-Apple Logic Audio 6 version of the software. I have been using Logic Audio 6 for the past four years. My hard drive just died and had to be replaced. When I got the computer back from the Apple store, the software was no longer on my computer. I still have the USB key but cannot locate the installation disk. Any idea if there is anywhere I can download the installation program for Logic Audio 6? Any other ideas for how to replace?

The problem is that L8 doesn't open L6 Songs
Well, technically LP8 is supposed to be able to open songs from Logic 5 and up. I've just myself opened up some old Logic 5 Windows songs in LP8 without issues.
However, there have been instances of people trying to load 5.x and up songs in LP8 and they are being asked to open it in LP7 first - I don't know what it is in the song files that make this necessary...

  • Where is Logic audio platinum 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Holidays, can anyone tell me where to purchase Logic audio platinum version 6 for os 9? Ive looked everywhere,i know someone has it somewhere, its not that old.

I doubt that that three-year-old press release is likely to lead anywhere, but you may be able to find someone selling a copy of LP6 on Ebay from time to time.

  • Compatibility with Logic Audio FOR WINDOWS

    Hi
I'm considering buying a MAC to do sound recording on. I used to do sound recording on a PC using emagic Logic audio gold 4, running Windows 98. I still have all the old .lso files. Any hope in heaven of asking a mac running Logic Pro 7 to recognise these? If Apple's as clever as it seems to be, this should be doable shouldn't it?
    Thanks

  • Upgrade to Logic Express 7.2 from Logic Audio 5

Is it possible to use the LE7.2 upgrade to get from Logic Audio 5 (Big Box version)? The initial blurb on the Apple store suggests this is the case:
"Upgrade from Logic Express 6, Logic Audio 6 or Logic Audio 5 to Apple's new Logic Express 7"
The requirements include a free USB port for the XSKey, but the person at the Apple store didn't seem too sure either way.
    Any clarification most appreciated.

    Hi,
I upgraded from Logic Audio 5 to LE 7 last year, and I THINK it worked like this: the XSKey was required during installation as "proof" that I had an official Logic 5. After installation of LE7, the XSKey was no longer required.

  • Newbie to logic - audio out

    1. I have external speakers hooked up to my G5. Logic audio will NOT play out the external output of the G5. Garage band will, Logic wont. How do you get audio to play to external speakers.
    2. I have figured out that you put Logic software synthns in the instrument tracks. What are the tracks that have instrument icons used for......external midi boxes?
    thanks for enlightening me.

You have to make sure that Core Audio in Logic is enabled, and that the audio driver is set to "Built-In Audio". This is done under the Audio hardware and Drivers panel, found under the Audio menu.
Logic's default song has tons of those crazy icons all over the place. There are no instruments assigned to them. They are merely showing you what you can do wit the icons, if you're so inclined.
I'd suggest reading up on the various types of audio objects in Logic. This will arm you the knowledge to choose what you need.

  • Upgrade Logic Express 9 from Logic Audio 5 (Big Box)

    Hi,
I am trying to install Logic Express 9 Upgrade (the version to upgrade from Logic Express 6, 7 or 8 or Logic Audio 5 or 6 / Big Box) on my Mac. The installer asks me for my old serial number to upgrade - when I plug in my XSKey which I got with the Big Box (Logic Audio 5) I get an error message that my XSKey is not eligible for the upgrade.
I already tried the XSKey updater, tried installing the latest XSKey driver and also installed Logic Audio 6 to check the authorization of my XSKey. It clearly states that my XSKey is authorized for Logic Audio 5 (not for 6 though).
When checking on a Windows-PC it states that it is authorized for both the Windows and Mac version of Logic Audio 5. Since I don't have an academic or other NFR-edition of Logic Audio 5 I should really be eligible for that upgrade, right?
Any suggestions on how to install the upgrade?
    Thank you,
    johannes.

I called Apple regarding this issue that Monday and after sorting out the usual pitfalls while upgrading (as I mentioned Academic/NFR-Versions) they asked me to mail in my XSKey because I should have been able to upgrade.
Today Apple sent me a replacement serial number for Logic Express 9 and everything is up and running now. Many thanks to Apple Professional Applications Support!
    Best regards,
    johannes.
