Logic doesn't (sound) right

Can anyone explain why my tracks sound like they're supposed to when I have them in soundtrack pro but in logic the tone of them is completely wrong? I don't know if there is some setting I'm missing but when I mix a handful of Identical tracks with identical levels on both programs it sounds way better on soundtrack pro (like my tracks used to sound through my digital mixer), what's wrong with logic?

I would call that a Ship horn.
Insert a Space Designer and use one of the bigger spaces. A very low brass note (French Horn perhaps? I'll have a look myself, later) doubled with probably a timpanihit or possibly a Taiko drum hit.
In the YT clip at around 54 seconds it sounds like there has also been some pitch bending and a formant filter deployed, making me think it could be Zebra™ (synth by U-He) or of course any other synth with formant filter(s).

My 17" Macbook Pro battery swelled up and kind of exploded. The apple genuis said it is still safe to use, that doesn't sound right.

I am just kind of worried that it doesn't even fit. Do I need to kind of pop the expanded portion of the battery to get it to fit back in? The case of the battery has come apart and so to fit it back in I would have to press it back together. The battery is low count and had great capacity when it happened. I don't want to have to buy another one when this one is fairly new.

Pretty new to this, 2 recordings, doesn't sound right.. need help!

we had a narrator come into our own booth and record a lot of narration for us. She came back today to do some additions and corrections.
Used the same equipment, same booth, same everything, but for some reason it just doesn't sound right, it sounds "muffled" a little.. at least to me. I don't normally "clean" audio so I'm kind of lost. I haev the frequency analysis open and see the graph, and between 16000 and up its much much lower on the original recordings than it is on the ones done today.
Is there ANY way to try to get these matched up closely? All i've really tried is the EQ but that doesn't seem to get me very far.. what other things could I try... I'm really not an expert at this by any means!

This sort of problem has plagued everybody recording narrations for years - it's virtually impossible to get an identical sound between narration sessions unless you are seriously lucky. All it takes is for the narrator to have a slight cold in the head and be wearing different clothes - and they sound different if a direct comparison is made. Even worse is if they had a slight cold or whatever the first time around and are fine the next - you'd need them to get that cold again! And no EQ or anything else can even begin to compensate for this - the human ear is incredibly sensitive to the sound of voices, and even really subtle changes are very noticeable.
Best thing to do is to re-record sections, and not just corrections - you can often get away with this if there are breaks between sections. Even then it may not be right.
The way it has always worked for me is that if alternatives may be required, we do them all at the same sitting - and record a load of 'silence' too - that comes in more useful than you might ever imagine. And if it's critical, then re-record the whole thing - the amount of editing and correcting time required may well exceed the re-recording time, so often its worth it even though it sounds mad on the face of it.

IPhone Vibrate doesn't sound right.

When my iPhone 4 vibrates, it has this weird rattling sound to it. I just got a new one from sending mine in, and my last one didn't sound like this.. Should I get in contact with Apple?

If you are not satisfied then of course you can, a refurb is meant to be as new and yours doesn't sound like it is.

Sound on Itunes doesn't sound right

I'm not sure if my problem is with my computer or the itunes. The sound when i play my music on itunes is terrible. The equilizer doesn't help at all, i put it on manual and i couldn't hear anything, just an intense amount of bass. The vocals will be really low and and the other parts jacked way up or vise versa. I can't figure this out.

Try using the Recovery Manager to Restore the Original Driver look for the IDT High-Definition Audio driver.
Also, do you have any sound issue when using Windows Media Player?

Logic doesn´t find sounds. When I want to play a software Instrument I get e.g. the message: EXS24-Instrument "TenorSax.exs."Audiodatei „TESLNOMA2X01“ nicht gefunden!

Firstly, thanks for your message.
What I meant by "hi pass mid pass shrinking in" is EXACTLY what you menat, I got a heavy bass and muffed high and mid content. Apologised for my poor English.
I haven't checked the setting of the playback device yet but instead I tested it with some professional produced tracks. I know the sound tends to vary a little bit when playing from computer and CD player such as the CDJ 900 that I am using. The differences were not as significant as my own track. They tend to get a rather good balance. My track is well balanced and mixed (I guess) in Logic but it turns out completely different when using the CD player.
I bounced my work to MP3 with highest BIte Rate.

After some tinkering, I have found that that was the problem.
I had the setting for the side switch to lock the rotation rather than mute.
This worked fine for locking and unlocking screen rotation but had a strange effect on mute.
Whether it was on or off, system sounds were muted.
Therefore, I changed the setting to Mute instead of Rotation Lock. This got me back the sounds.
Once I knew system sounds worked, I then switched Rotation Lock back on and, hey presto, everything OK.
Never even noticed the Mute icon to the left of playback controls (double home and swipe right). Perhaps that would also fix it.

My Keyboard doesn´t sound

I have activated the sound for my keyboard but it doesn´t sound. Of course I have checked that the volume is activated too.

Do you get other notification sounds ? If not then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. First try this ... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that didn't work, Do you have sounds in other apps, do you have keyboard clicks? If you don't, you have system sounds muted.
If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

Bounce DOESN'T sound like Mix Playback, Mid boost, stereo field smaller

Anyone had this one happen yet? Your mix is rockin along, client is happy, you hit bounce and it sounds like someone just threw a comforter over your speakers and cut your low end at 100 during playback?
Freaking out. Never had this happen in years of use. No plugs on Master, bounce Interleaved, AIFF, 48k 24 bit.

I've struggled with a similar problem i.e my mix will sound awesome and perfect when I play it back through Logic and my (pretty decent) monitors. I will bounce the mix and say, bring it into WaveBurner. When I play the mix in WaveBurner is sounds a little different. This makes since as the file has to be dummied down a bit to fit on a CD. The real shock comes when I play the song in say, my car. I expect it to sound little different (different speakers) but what I find is the bass is gone...Or way too loud. Or the vocals are completely soft. Or (I work with bagpipers) the pipes will be so loud you can't hear anything else! This drove me nuts and wasted tons of blank CD's and time running back and forth, re-mixing this or that.
After some discussion with other groups it occured to me that maybe it's my audio interface. If you have a cheap AD/DA converter in your interface then your mixes will not be true. I used a Mackie 400F then upgraded to an Apogee Ensemble. The Apogee doesn't sound as good as the Mackie but I think the output is more true to what you hear on the final product.
I don't know if this helps (and I may be completely off about cheap converters!). I wanted to share my experience with a similar problem. -T

Certain instruments don't sound right

In Logic Express, a handful of instruments don't sound right and cut short since I upgraded to Mountain Lion. These are mainly in the Jam Packs, notably the Orchestra one. Instruments that don't sound right are Timpani, Vibraphone and a couple of other mallet sounds.
In an old project of mine (which uses the Timpani), when opened, it sounds exactly as it should, however if I change the instrument then change it back again, it sounds lower quality and the sound cuts short.

Safari doesn't open right and nothing works

When I open safari there is no file edit view history or any of the bars at the top except the adress bar and it doesn't let you type in it. also the apple start page doesn't look right. I have safari on my windows laptop and it works great it dosn't work on my windows pc downstairs. Can some one help? Thanks

When I open Safari on my Windows PC it opens but there are bars except the address bar but it doesn't let you type in it; basicly doesn't work right. Also the apple start page is all distorted. I've tried uninstalling it then reinstalling safari but still doesn't work. I've also cleaned the Windows registry and that doesn't work either. Can anyone help? Thanks!
