Logic Express 7 with Mbox 2 interface

I'm getting what sounds like clocking issue "pops" when I use my Mbox 2 with LE7.
I'm using a new 13 inch MacBook Pro.
I have the audio driver set to the Mbox 2. When I switch the sample rate between 44.1 and 48 the pops stop. But then they return when I try and play audio, regardless of which sample rate I use.
Any thoughts?

I have a Mac OSX and I use Logic Express 9 on it. I also use an MBox 2 digidesign. Im having trouble connecting midi and getting it to work from my Roland Keyboard Midi, to the back of my Mbox 2 Midi. Its just not working at all. You know what? I can't help but to even be ashamed to be in any of the forums here in LE8. I got mine on Tuesday and, within minutes of the installation, I had "everything" set up and ready to go for the recordings that I do. Not one bump. It has been nothing but a virtual love fest with me and LE8! With all of the complaining and problems that people are having, I feel that I am definitely in a neighborhood where I am not welcome.
Here's what I did. I looked at the options for creating a new song that we get when we want to create a new file (you have seen the prepared workspaces that LE8 gives you to choose from) and, because I only use "live" instruments (guitar, banjo, mandoline, 12 string guitar, classic guitar, and a fiddle--as well as my voice(), I just chose the selection for 8 live instruments. Now, I have read the forums for abou a year and the major complaint of the newbies is that they can't seem to get music "out" of LE and that it is almost impossible to "wrap their heads around" it. Well, Apple has answered the users with these automatic workspaces with the soundflow already set up. There is no installation of all those preferences and the personal existing hardware. No fidgeting there.
So, as I sit here in pig heaven and grunt in imported mud with others of my own ilk, I am truly happy and hav not a single complaint.

When I open logic express 8 with eyetv open but not active and i close logic express 8 and make eyetv active it won't show closed captioning even though closed captioning is turned on

When I totally close eyetv and reopen eyetv and open a live tv window the closed captioning comes back. I never noticed this with os leopard, Just after i installed os snow leopard. All software is up to date only I think, thanks to apple they droped support for logic express. Thanks for any suggestions.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Considering the date of your post you may already know but Logic Express 9 is really just an upgrade from 8. It's could have been called 8.something rathern than 9. It's not really a new or different program so anything you were able to use with 8 you should be able to use with 9. Also the full studio program COMES with all the jam packs and Logic Express 9 comes with the voice jam pack (I think it's called that) so they definitely work with Logic.

This should probably go in the Logic Express 8 forum. Regardless, I see no reason why it wouldn't be perfectly functional using LE8. Is there a reason why you are opting for a USB device? Does your Mac not have a firewire port?

Is the Logic app compatible with the Digi002 interface?

Does anyone know if the App is compatible with the Digi002? I'm using Lion.
I downloaded it in February and it wouldn't connect to my mbox2. Want to try again but don't want to pay if it's not going to work.

You downloaded it in February? From where?
Logic will connect with any device that has compatible core audio drivers or is "system compliant" with core audio.
If your mBox2 wouldn't connect it's because the Avid core audio drivers are not 100% Lion compatible.
As I recall the audio side of the Avid drivers will work but the Avid core audio MIDI driver needs to be upgraded, the current ones cause a MIDI timeout.
Someone with a Digi002 will have to answer but I suspect the same problem you had with the mBox2 might occur.

Why won't logic express work with bluetooth headphones?

My headphones communicate fine with my iMac but for some reason when I use Logic I get silence. I have set the output in preferences to my headphones. and the iMac seems to take a while accepting this, but otherwise there does not seem to be problem except there is no sound.
Anybody got any suggestions?

It seems you system is broken. The following is missing /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ProKit.framework. I would assume that neither Final Cut Pro, Aperature nor iPhoto do run? You probably have to reinstall Lion.

Sound Output from Logic Express 8 with new USB Guitar Pedal

Hello, everyone. I am guitarist. I have just bought an effects pedal from Vox called the Tonelab ST, which has a USB out. When I connect it to my G5, Logic sees it okay, and selects it as the audio device in the Preferences pane. The problem is that it shuts off my sound output and reroutes it through the USB pedal. If I hook the pedal up to my amp, I hear both. I tried adjusting the sound output through the System Preferences, but that is okay. If I start a different program (like iTunes) it plays through my system like normal. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You need some pro help. I'm only a stand-in while others aren't addressing your difficulties. I would suggest poring over the manual.
Some thoughts: I have seen demos of folks using multiple output options and switching among them. Me, i'm only using one input (my mixer) and one output (my mixer). I run my guitar into the mixer to record while running other tracks out to the mixer to monitor. When I've recorded a part I play back the entire thing through the mixer. I used a Firewire Solo (which I do not recommend) as the analog/digital converter between the mixer and computer. Now I'm using a little USB gizmo that came with my new Behringer mixer and i address is as "USB Audio Codec" in Logic.
So in Prefereces > Devices > Core Audio I have it set to "USB Audio Code" and this functions as BOTH my input and output. Well: How to get multiple outputs. I think you'll have to go to the part in the manual that addresses "Environments" and add another output mechanism, specificall distinguishing between your preferred output options.
In your above post you say you record something and it "sounds great". How are you monitoring this to conclude how it sounds? Outside of Logic? I asked whether you were routing your playback audio (of your "input 2") and you didn't say. It is routing to "Output 1-2". Does "Output 1-2" in the mixer display bounce up and down indicating output activity? Does the "Master" fader in the mixer display bounce indicating output activity?

Reaktor & Razor latest with Logic Express 9 Setup Help!

I'm a semi newb to Apple Mac's I have a MacBookPro 8.1 4GB Ram - Logic Express 9 with all updates to Mac and Logic.
I just got Native Instruments Reaktor and Razor Synth but there is very little help for Logic users in the Documentation,
I managed to setup a new track as an EXTERNAL INSTRUMENT and managed to get REAKTOR configured to that track as an insert,
I can get my keyboard to record the Midi notes from my USB midi keyboard BUT it's not triggering Razor yet :/ .
I have tried Busing the output from Razor to Logic with no luck,
I tried side-chaining to Logic from Razor as well but did not succeed either,
I am trying to make a template to set me up an running faster, I use an M-Audio Firewire Soundcard all running ok with its own template.
KIT LIST: Maschine Hardware Control Interface, NI Reaktor Razor, Korg Prophecy Keyboard (old school midi) Analogue Input on soundcard,
USB Keyboards Edirol PCR-M1 , M-Audio Axiom 25 USB control keyboard.
I would really appreciate any help getting Razor going properly, Im almost there.. cheers for now.

I found NI Reaktor and Razor had to Add New Track as Software Instrument then I had to link to Reaktor via the I/O inputs further down the Mixer panel strip for that new track as an AUinstrument alot of trial and error, but I sust it all out though, now to play with midi. cheers

Logic Express 9 running with Tascam US-122 - possible?

I've been scouring support forums and the Logic user manual all day and unfortunately cannot seem to find an answer to this:
Is it at all possible to run Logic Express 9 with the Tascam US-122?
I've just converted from PC to Mac in the last couple of weeks: all of my software and drivers are all up-to-date so that should not be an issue. Obviously that means that I've previously been using my Tascam with Cubase on the PC, and I was really hoping it would cope with Logic too. The problem is that Logic does recognize the Tascam but when it comes to recording, I can't get it to work. Apparently it's something to do with the sample rate?
Please help - if it can be avoided, I don't want to have to buy another device. Any advice or answers would be very much appreciated!

It sounds like you have the same setup as us.
I (oops, wife) has a brand new iMac, a Tascam US-122L and a Yamaha KX8 controller. She started with GarageBand, then bought Logic Express 9 and just yesterday we ordered the upgrade to Logic Studio.
Like any new computer setup of course nothing worked right away.
She plugs her guitar into the Tascam but it didn't work until we changed to Input 2 in Logic (or was it GarageBand, sorry I am getting them confused).
Anyway, my point is that you should not need any more hardware to make it work. We have yet to plug a mike into the Tascam...that will be the fun for the weekend....lol
