Hi,
If you Used any of the Assistants to get Logic across that could be the problem...
It is recommended to ReInstall Pro Apps... from the Original Discs, after doing an OS upgrade...
So a ReInstall should fix your issue...
Be sure to have the Serial Number handy... For when you are asked for it during the Install

Can I run Logic in Snow Leopard?

    LP9 runs fine under 10.6.8....
In fact using Logic Pro 9.1.5 and OS X 10.6.8 turned out for me and many others it seems.. to be one of the most stable combinations of Logic and OS X of all time

  • Airport Express: Snow Leopard 10.6.3 / Vista Home Premium / connect problem

I have Snow Leopard 10.6.3 running on my Mac Pro, and I have an Airport Express for the little wireless network I am trying to set up....
...I can get my iPhone to connect - that was easy!
    The problem:
My girlfriend is running Vista Home Premium on her HP laptop. She cannot connect to my network:
    a) actually it comes up on her computer as being "connected to an unidentified network"
    and
    b) she continues to get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when she tries to connect to the internet.
    Any ideas?
    1) Is there a connection problem between Vista and Airport Express / Snow Leopard?
    2) Anything special I need to do to let a Windows (or Vista specifically) computer connect?

Possible risks after someone cracked the password and connects to your Wifi:
    - Someone could sniff passwords when the password is transmitted in plain text (e.g. check for mails with POP)
    - Someone could access shares that are not password protected
    - Illegal use of your internet connection
But I don't know how likely that is. Your decision.
However, we now identified the Windows Vista Wifi settings as the source of the problem.
You can now play around with the different encryption settings in the AX and identify when Vista starts to not connect.
I now remember that I had to add the Wifi settings to Vista manually for WPA2 Personal (WPK) as the system messed it up when I connected with a click and provided the password. So if you want to try WPA2 delete the profile in Vista, probably restart and then add all the Wifi settings manually instead of clicking on an identified network. Vista is definitely able to use WPA2, so there should be no need to toggle between WPA2 and WEP once you configured Vista correctly.

  • Quitting Logic in Snow Leopard

I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard after realising that all my Apps will work fine on it.
How ironic it is that Logic is causing me the biggest problem as it always crashes when shutting down with a project open. If i do it with no project open, fine.
    Anyone else getting this?
    Cheers

    Hi Matt
My Logic 8 has been rock solid on Leopard. I've had numerous issues on my MB Pro and my iMac with SL, mostly iMovie, Entourage, and some third party open source stuff. The latter was fixable with a SL upgrade. I had to quit using Entourage 2004 and use 2008, which I don't like as much... and iMovie is rolled back to 08 from 09 to keep HD quality.
But now Logic crashed the first time I've used it... I suspect SL... I wondered if there was a patch somewhere.

  • IP Address Conflicts - iMac and Airport Express, Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion

In our home we have an iMac, two Mac notebooks, an iPad, an Apple TV and a Sony Playstation that all use wi-fi.  I have a recurring problem.  When several devices are connected to the Internet through Airport Extreme (wi-fi) downloads really slow down.  Since the Airport Extreme is connected directly to a Motorola cable modem that also has wi-fi, I often shift my iMac wi-fi connection to the Motorola cable modem to speed up the Internet. Lately I have been getting an IP address conflict message in a pop-up box when I shift to the cable modem wi-fi. The system preference shows the IP address automatically assigned via DCHP.  It also offers the option of DHCP plus manual.
I am now using Snow Leopard and intend to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
How can I resolve the conflict?  Or, should I consider some other wifi network configuration?  Is the upgrade to Mountain Lion likely to resolve the problem or make it worse?  Can I use the DHCP plus manual to manually assign an IP address to the iMac to resolve the IP address conflict, and, if so, what it the procedure?

Is the DHCP assignment being done by your cable modem or your AirPort Extreme?
What is the exact text of the conlict message, and where does it pop up?
If your cable modem and your AirPort Extreme are both running DHCP servers for the same subnet (which they really should not be allowed to do), they must be set to assign addresses from disjoint pools.

If you were unaware of this.. you have to be very careful to not just systematically go ahead and make system updates when you are using Digidesign equipment. Digidesign are very strict about testing each system update before they update their drivers to be compatible. Very often, you have to stay on an older system version for a few months before they 'officially' support the latest system version. Of course this applies to other hardware too, but it's of particular concern with Digidesign. Don't ever do an OSX update (or a Logic one either) till you've been to the Digi site first to check that it's been validated and/or that there's an updated driver for you to install.

  • Updated to snow leopard.  Printer no longer turning on.

Since updating to Snow Leopard, my printer (an HP DeskJet 5550) no longer turns on when I print over my wireless network via Airport Express. Not sure if this has something to do with the Express, Snow Leopard, or something else.
    Any thoughts?

I am having the same problem with an HP Laserjet 1150 connected to my Airport Extreme.

  • Logic Express 9 Crashes after Snow Leopard Upgrade from Tiger

I just upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. I have yet to install iLife, though I have it. I have installed Logic Express. Everytime I attempt to pull it up, it crashes with some sort of kern protection failue. Can anyone advise me?

    Hi Cris,
These might be Obvious and things you have already done... But...
Since doing the Upgrade... Have you Run Software Update... Repaired Permissions and Restarted...?
Also how did you Put Logic on... From the Original Install Discs...?
And, I'm not sure... But Logic Express maybe expecting to see iLife Installed...

  • Logic Express 7 won't open in Snow Leopard

    Hi
I hadnt opened my logic express 7 in a while, and in this period I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I tried to open it and it gets stuck with a message saying Loading Audio Files for "Dark FM Drive.exs"...
and it stays there with a beach ball and then I have to Force Quit.
Will my old Logic not work here?
    J

Have you tried to just open LE7 app, not a project? If it launches OK, then there is something wrong with the sound library files (could be permissions or a file-system bug). Also, if you installed SL 10.6 it makes sense to update it to the most recent and stable version, because the initial one was full of bugs, as I remember. You can also re-install LE7 (if anything else doesn't work).

  • Logic Express won't open in Snow Leopard

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now, when I try to open Logic Express 7, the program immediately quits, with the error message below. I uninstalled/reinstalled and the problem still happens. I have also checked for software updates and no luck.
I already searched these forums. While it seems there are some other problems like this out there, I did not see a helpful answer.
    Process: Logic Express [64105]
    Path: /Applications/Logic Express.app/Contents/MacOS/Logic Express
    Identifier: com.apple.logic.express
    Version: 7.0.0 (7.0.0(818))
    Build Info: LogicExpress_ApplicationData-818000~1
    Code Type: PPC (Translated)
    Parent Process: launchd [670]
    Date/Time: 2010-06-06 21:42:59.714 -0600
    OS Version: Mac OS X 10.6.3 (10D573)
    Report Version: 6

I am fairly certain logic 7 is not compatible with Snow Leopard.

  • Logic Express 7.2 & Snow Leopard?

Can anyone tell me whether LE 7.2 will work on my MacBookPro with Snow Leopard?
It's a fair bit cheaper for me to install 7.2 and get the upgrade disc for LE9, compared to buying LE9 full installation.
    Thanks in advance!

I don't think it will hurt to try. Apparently latest versions of Mac OSX are compatible with previous versions of software, as opposed to the previous versions of OS and newer software.

  • HELP! HOW DO I KEEP LOGIC WHEN UPGRADING FROM TIGER TO SNOW LEOPARD!

So I use a later macbook but have another slightly older one (got it in 2007) that kinda kicked the bucket. I'm now able to use it again (with a new setup). I have Logic express (an older version) but the macbook is running that last version of tiger before leopard. I want to upgrade to snow leopard (which i've learned I can from tiger directly for the low price) but I don't want to lose logic since I payed for it and don't have the install discs anymore.
I don't mind getting rid of everything else but I want to keep the actual program on the comp and just run it in SL. What specifically do I have to do (as far as backing up and all that) to CLEANLY upgrade from tiger to SL but keep logic? I'll have an external HD by the time I'm ready so keep that in consideration.

I have never used Logic Express so I can't help you but if you to the Logic Express Forum and repost over there you might be able to find someone who knows about Logic Express to help you.

  • Problems in Logic after transitioning from Snow Leopard to Mtn Lion

I have recently transitioned into Mtn Lion from Snow Leopard using Logic 9.1.8.  Now every time I try to open a project created using the EXS24 Bosendorfer piano (Logic) plug in, Logic crashes. I also use (and mix together) Miroslav Philharmonik plug ins and am haviing no trouble loading them (after an initial glitch).  Logic also crashes when I try to load the EXS224 Bosendorfer piano (Logic) plug-in into a project.  Suggestions for a fix?   What am I issing?  Thanks for any help here.

    Hello alkhater.
I did confirm that I am not using iCloud, so was able to cross that off the checklist.  I was able to resolve the issue by going into the Library folder and removing every file I could find that had "Address Book" in its name.  Then I rebooted the computer and started Contacts, which opened with the default Apple card and "User" card.  From there I was able to rebuild my Contacts, and it is now working normally.
Thanks for the feedback and enjoy your day.

  • Logic 9.01 / Snow Leopard / problems with Sonata-font !

Is anybody here working with the adobe sonata score-font on Logic 9.01 and SL ?
Since I updated to 9.01 and OSX 10.61 I cannot not use it anymore - everytime i open the score-editor the CPU-usage goes up to 100% and Logic freezes when clicking inside the score.
    Any Experiences / Solutions ?
On Logic 9.0 and OSX 10.58 it worked perfectly, the problem occured after updating to snow Leopard.
    Thanks

Where are you changing the tempo? In the transport bar?
Try going to the "Lists>Tempo" tab on the right and set it there and see if it works
