Logic Icons

Question: How do I get my own icons to show up in Logic?
I've created the Images/Icons folder in my Library/App. Support/Logic folder.
I've even tried replacing the icons directly in the Logic Studio package. They are still not showing up. What am I doing wrong?
I've read the other threads on the board and have tried it all, yet the images won't show. And yes, they are in the right format...

have a peak here:

Because it was moved, renamed, or deleted, and needs to be put back or reinstalled.

  • Logic and extra icons, why isn't logic seeing them?

I just created few icons of my own with pic and the rappers, singers and other's pics as icons
    i've imported to logic
the thing is if i replace some of logic's icons then it appears in logic
but the onces i place after the last logic icon which is 324.png, does not appear
i'm wondering if there is a code somewhere which has been written for logic to read only up to 324
is it possible to change that code so i can add more without deleted what logic already has?
and i tried the logiconizer thing and it didn't work for me
replacing some icons i don't need with mine works fine but if i don't replace it logic doesn't see it
    thanks

When you add new icons, you aren't deleting the default Logic icons. Several different users can have their own set of icons on a machine.
So if you decide that you don't want to use a specific icon that you've added, just delete it and restart Logic. The default one will show up in it's place.
Also, I don't believe you can change the total number of icons. This is fixed at 324.

  • Logic Pro 9 won't import GarageBand songs from iPad

This used to be a simple process. Import the song via iTunes from the iPad to the Mac, save the ".band" file to the desktop, click on the song and it would open in Logic Pro 9. I can no longer get iOS GarageBand songs, new or old, to open in Logic on the Mac. Logic keeps crashing. When I click on the ".band" file, try to open it from within Logic, or try dragging onto the Logic icon, the only option I get is to save the file that I'm trying to open. If I save it and then try to open it, there is nothing there but an empty arrange window with the name of the song at the top. If I click on all of the advanced options when saving, Logic crashes and says it needs to be updated yet there are no available updates. It's already up to date. Is it suggesting that I purchase Logic X bc the iPad has the latest version of GarageBand? One problem there is, I can no longer open the old files, that opened previously on the same Mac, etc., that were recorded on the 8-track version of GarageBand. Any ideas? Should I re-install Logic Pro 9?

Hey, thanks. I have GB 2.0.1 (which is probably linked to GB 10) on the iPad 2 and LP 9.1.8 on the Mac. I take the iPad on the road and sketch out ideas then transfer them to the Mac. I have found a way to transfer the audio manually by opening the project folder and copying 1 track at a time, but that does me no good as all of those audio tracks get replaced anyway. I want to keep the MIDI files and know how to access them in the ".band" file or change the language in the file to make GB 2.0.1 open in LP9, if any one knows how to do that.
Do you know how to downgrade to an older version of GB for iOS? The one purchased on my app store is 2.0.1, unfortunately. Where/ how can I get an older version? Thank you.
As for buying LP 10, my Mac won't support it as it's 32-bit.

  • Logic 7.1.6 plug-in/audio-issues

Ever since I "upgraded" to Lion, I have had issues with Logic. I have another logic icon that is a "32 bit bridge" that just sits at the bottom now, yet I do not know what it is even doing because ever since it's showed up Amplitube/guitar rig3 just crackle and pop when playing with other tracks simoltaniously... It has NEVER done that before, nor delayed to that extent that it is now. I even get the feedback when JUST a midi drum loop is running. Also my 32 bit bridge crashes anyways and most of the time Massive is bi-polar and does not show up...At the same time, I have to click on the window to open the plug-ins to even edit them as they take a good 10 seconds sometimes to even run.....
Lastly a couple of my recordings from other songs are ending up mixed into a different song, the vocal tracks I lost were rough but I would be LIVID if it were an actual track that was mixed down...I tried to look around but I am yet to see too many people with an answer...
To recap, I use a macbook pro, logic ug from 9.0 to 9.1.6(because SL to Lion "UG,") and I am just running my telecaster into my built in audio...None of my hardware changed nor did i have any issues before. It seems to be any plug-ins for my guitar as I am not even using amplitube and guitar rig on the same Channel strip, yet BOTH do it! If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Jarid.

*update* i read maybe rolling back the drivers may help, if anyone can confirm i may try it.

  • Why the mouse pointer in Logic Pro does not change shape during work in OSX 10.9.1?

I've a MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Late 2013 and I'm using two external displays. One connected to to the HDMI port (display 1) the other to thunderbolt (display 2). The MacBook display is closed. I’m working with Logic Pro 9.1.8 (32bit) with OSX 10.9.1
Why the mouse pointer in Logic Pro does not change shape during work???
It was already difficult with OSX 10.9 but now after upgrading to 10.9.1 it's game over!
At least before I could select which display use Logic Pro to have all the shape functions of the pointer. Not in both displays, so to be forced to edit in ONLY ONE of the two displays using this workaround: (right click on Logic icon in Dock: Option --> Desktop on Display 1). Now or I select “Option --> All Desktops” or does not work. However, by selecting all displays you say goodbye to Mission Control. This can’t be a solution!!!
The amazing thing is that Nuendo has no problem while Logic Pro, Apple's native software, it can't!
With Nuendo it’s indifferent in which display you are working, the shape of the mouse pointer changes shape depending on the requirement in both displays.
    This thing drives me crazy!
    Solutions?
Here some ideas in other foums:
    http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=86264
But this aren't really solutions but workarounds. Use Logic in all desktops makes Mission Control useless!!

I installed all over again by formatting as suggested by the genes of pro application support. Each plug-in, each virtual instrument, a job that lasted 3 days. And as suggested for each new plug-in I proceeded to check the proper functioning of Logic Pro and did each time a back up with Time Machine.
    The Result:
Logic works as it should ONLY on the primary monitor and ONLY on the first desktop.
    BUT
Reason and Nuendo dont' have this issue !!
I believe that Apple developers are thinking only to mobile phones and things like messages or face time.
    And that's not all!
After a few weeks, perhaps by installing a version of Adobe Acrobat, I say maybe because I'm not sure, logic has stopped working properly. Again problems with the mouse pointer.
Luckily I had a back up! But now I'm terrified to install new programs. Thanks Apple!

  • How do I open garageband in logic

trying to open a song I did in Garageband 11 in Logic . How do I do that?

It depends on which version of logic you have if you can do this or not. But you can right click on the project file .band and choose > open with >logic. Drag the project on the logic icon or in Logic, Logic > Open and find the project.

  • Logic 9.1.7 OSX 10.8.2 exs24 crashing logic

I'm using Logic 9.1.7 on Mountain Lion 10.8.2. I'm trying to open a session that has a exs24 instrument that is missing an audio file. The session crashes once it tries to load the exs24 channel. The reason I know that the missing file in the exs24 instrument is causing the crash is because I had another session with the same issue. However, I was able to find out what audio file was missing because the exs24 instrument was made from an battery instrument. So when loaded into battery the same audio file was missing. I just copied another audio file, named it the same name as the missing one and the Logic session opened up fine. Had no problems in 9.1.6 so I know this is a new bug. In 9.1.6 a pop up asking to search for the file came up and you could choose to manually find it or skip. Has anyone else had this issue and found a work around besides downgrading?

Good you found a work-around, the other method would be to start logic without core audio running... dbl click on the Logic icon in the applications folder and immediately hold down the Control key. Answer No to "Launch the Core Audio Driver?"
Have to say though.. Logic is becoming more and more fragile, it should not crash simply because the EXS can't find a file.

  • Whay can't I run Logic 8 with the 9 upgrade on my Macbook pro?

I have just bought logic pro 8 and in the same run upgraded it to 9 as it followed the package.
But after I installed it and push the Logic icon to use the program it says
    - You can't use this version of the application Logic Pro.app with this version of Mac OS X. You have logic Pro.app 9.0.0 -
    what to do?

update via software update to version 9.1.8

  • Can I re install logic after I purchased it  from the app store?

can I re install logic after I purchased it from the app store? They say you can, but it won't allow me. Finally got logic pro 9 loaded. I recorded a test session, saved it,closed logic and when I went to re open logic the next day. My Logic icon was different ( it was the application icon not the silver record icon ) and I am unable to open my session or go to the app store to re install it. I can't find logic pro anywhere in my folders other than the application icon and that won't open.

    anybody answer me fast

  • Deleting old versions of Logic or Mainstage

I have 3 Logic icons in Applications as I have upgraded a few times. I also have 3 versions of Mainstage.  Several Logic Nodes.  Can I delete the old versions safely?  How best to determine what to delete and how do I test that I have not damaged anything before I empty trash.

I'm sorry, I'm a complete tool and forgot my password and all that stuff and didn't get around to making a new account until tonight.
But anyway, I guess what I mean is under my program files it has iTunes version 1.1, iTunes 1.2, iTunes 1.3, etc. (not the actual versions but hopefully you get the point) as well as iPod for Windows 2005-05-05, iPod for Windows 2005-10-10, iPod for Windows 2006-02-02, etc... I'm just wondering if I can delete the older versions without deleting all the files I actually have in iTunes/on my iPod.
Once again, sorry for being so dumb and not responding to my own question, but if anybody could help out that would be fantastic.

  • What's the best mac configuration setup for Logic?

I think that I didn't configure my Mac good enough to work with Logic and I hear that there is a special configuration that should be used to have everhything work together as best as possible in terems of memory use etc. But what are the best settings? And where do i configure them?

Are you talking about within logic or the actual system?
as far as logic is concerned, the preferences / audio tab will offer you most of the controls to optimize logic for your system.
as far as the actual mac, the best would obviously be a 12 core mac pro, speced till it would spec no more LOL.
but a I5 imac and that much ram is still a reasonable beast in the home studio stakes.
the best way to use all the RAM is to run logic in 64 bit,
find logics icon in the finder, and either right/ctrl click and click get info or press cmd-I.
this will bring up the get info dialog, and uncheck run in 32bit.
hey presto, logic can get to 16gb of RAM (in theory).

  • Logic 9.1.7 + Lion 10.7.4 = constant sound card disconnect

Hey everybody, ever since I upgraded to Lion I've been having this problem. I'll be working in a project and then all of a sudden, my sound drops out completely. It's strange because my Presonus Firebox still shows the blue light which means it's connected, but the sound is cut off to my whole computer completely. I mean, iTunes, Internet, everything, no sound. The only way for me to fix this is to pull the firewire out and plug it back in. Then there is a brief moment where everthing resets and I have my sound back for a short while until it happens all over again. This baffles me because it never happened before Lion.
Another problem that started happening shortly before Lion, was the white flashing screen of death. I'll be working on a project, and then the screen freezes for no reason. any button I press causes the screen to flash white like a camera flash. The only thing I can do is play (the screen is still frozen though). I'm running an older 2009 macbook with only 2 GB of ram so I know I'm pushing it, but it's been running perfectly up until this update.
Does anyone else have these problems? I'm thinking I might just have to wait for the next Logic and/or OSX update.
    Thanks!

  • Downgrading Logic 9.1.7 to 9.1.5

I read somewhere that 9.1.5 might solve the recent problems Logic is having with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion.  It is easy to downgrade?  Can I just trash the Logic icon in my Applications folder and install 9.1.5?  If anyone else wants to give it a shot and report back here's a link to past versions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1519

I actually have 8 still on my system drive for some reason.  I think I was unsure about 9 when it first came out or something so I didn't delete 8...?  So would I need to delete the Logic 9.1.7 icon so it only sees the version of 8 I have?  Then download 9.5.1 or...?
    Thanks for your help.
